NEVER HAVE I EVER: ILOCANO VERSION (PT. 3)
Never have I ever:
1. Addressed your fellows as lakay.
2. Completed each sentence with "ngarud" as in, "It's a beautiful day ngarud!"
3. Exclaimed, "Awan ti cuarta!," when low on money.
4. Exclaimed, "Anya ki din aya!," when exasperated.
5. Said, "cung cunana" or "cunana met" when referring to secondhand information.
6. Said words ending with vowels without the Maragsa accent - like mama (sir), para (stop) nga - all said with a soft ending when speaking Tagalog.
> 7. Said, "Ubet mo met!," when someone says, "Ubet mo!"
8. Said, "Eye-sos," over 10 times a day.
9. Sang the first 2 words of the Canadian national anthem as one word. ("Okinada!")
10. Described a heavy traffic condition as "bumpuhrr to bumpuhrr."
11. Prefaced every other sentence with "nga" or "apay."
12 Had your parents scold you with, "Pa pispisan ka, hala!"
13. Pronounced "people" and "simple" as "pee-pell" and "seem-pell," respectively.
14. Summoned someone with an, "Umay ka 'toy!," attached to the standard, "Hoy...pssssst!"
15. Lived in the SF Bay Area, where sometimes it is very hot and humid, have been used to the cool/cold wind, and heard your parents say, "Ay, nagpudot ditoyen! Kasla Pilipinas ditoy!"
16. Made a comment on somebody's statement by saying, "sinabim" as in, "Sinabi mo," if you would be trying to be a tagalog-ac.
17. Yelled, "Darasum!," or "Napaspas!," if you wanted something done ASAP.
18. Said, "Rupam!"
19. Said, "Masda awan ak!," when surprised, and had someone reply, "Masda awan ak met!
20. Heard your parents yell, "Maturog kan!," at least 5 times before you go to bed as a kid.
21. Been to Sea World San Jaygo (sic) and/or Pike Place in Shuttel (double sic). Extra points if you haven’t taken a cruise that’d depart from either city.
