The Bucket Fountain. This piece is now completed, and mounted onto its canvas. It measures 12 x 36 inches. The second picture is of the back and of the before I attached it to the canvas frame. 😁 [currently on hold] . [Image Description. Two pictures that of the textile artwork bucket fountain that is now finished. The bucket fountain is a water sculpture that is in Cuba mall in Wellington, New Zealand. In the artwork you can see that one of the buckets is pouring water out. This bit is stitched in sparkly and pearly thread so changes with the light. The fountain is a black frame with coloured buckets of various sizes. MIAMI, Estados Unidos.- Yulier Rodríguez Pérez (Yulier P), un grafitero cubano contestario, colocó en la puerta de entrada a la sede de la Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (UNEAC), en La Habana otra obra de su serie “Regalos”, dedicada a la organización oficialista.

Según una publicación en redes sociales, la nueva obra, pintada sobre un pedazo de mampostería, muestra a “una persona sin boca, que no puede expresarse”, y “sin manos”  ̶ lo que simboliza la impotencia de “no poder tomar acción” ̶ , envuelta en la bandera cubana y atada con una soga, contó el artista en entrevista con Radio Televisión Martí.

“La soga que presiona es la UNEAC”, dijo Yulier P., cuya obra es una manifestación de protesta contra la censura institucional a los artistas cubanos.

Hace algunas semanas el grafitero ya había dejado algunas de sus piezas contestatarias en la entrada del Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes y otra en el parque de El Curita, en Centro Habana.

En 2017 Yulier P. fue amenazado con ir a prisión si no borraba las figuras que iba dejando en edificios en ruinas de La Habana.

Un año después retomó el proyecto pintando grafitis en los techos de los bicitaxis que circulan por la capital, y ahora deja regalos en algunas instituciones oficiales del país.
