On our way to a cook out on this cool, rainy day. I know that's technically bad cook out weather, but I'm pretty pleased. And either way I'm excited to hang out with friends from DC, Boston,. And Indy (they're North-ish). #TournamentofNorthernAggression #tna #ComedySportz #CSz #cszworldwide #cszrichmond #cszrva #selfie #goth #gothgoth #gothselfie

Jill Bernard told me that I was "really funny." I can die now.
Over the past weekend my life changed once more. I felt more validation then I've ever felt about improv. And it was amazing.
Doug Neithercott from ComedySportz Twin Cities invited whoever could come, to come and play in the very first ComedySportz All-Star Weekend. 16 out of state-ers accepted. 10 of us showed up. 2 from ComedySportz Detroit.
First off, Twin Cities may be the nicest place in all of the world. This year TC is celebrating their 25th year too so they hosted the All-Star weekend as something special. And just like at tourney, Jaclynn Cherry and I walked around yelling "DETROIT" and doing some hand motion thingy.
Second off, Jaclynn and I stayed with THE Jill Bernard. If you don't know who that is, you should google her and Drum Machine right away! If you are going to ImprovUtopia East then you should take her Fireball workshop! And if you don't already have her book, you should buy it from here. She's fabulous. AND loved her mug!

Thirdly, the shows. We were lucky enough to get to play in three shows each. Mary Strutzel and Doug Ocar (co-owners) kept saying they were trying to make it worth-while for us to come out. I would've come out just to see the shows for free... or just to sleep on Jill Bernard's air mattress again.
The shows were tournament style. One thing that was awesome was that instead of having it Red vs. Blue it was All-Stars vs. All-Stars.
One thing they do amazing is the announcer/janis thing. They had a keyboard player so the lights & janis were provided by the announcer. But the stand out thing was the blackouts at the beginning/end of scenes and also used as a transition in between them. So every game was not a monoscene. Which allowed us to play really amazing games likes Teenage Melodrama and Night of Living Replay and keep them high-energy.
Games we played (we don't remember the challenge the other team rounds): 7/18
7/19 Early show
7/19 Late Show
Of the 12 games I played (3 nights x 4 games), 8 of them were new or played differently. One was even changed as I was on the bench. During on game we were supposed to be challenged to Teenage Melodrama but our Blindfield game turned into teenage love and angst so on the bench the team decided on Instant Soap Opera and the captain passed a note to the other captain during a transition. It was amazing how quickly that was taken care of, the ref didn't blink and I don't think the audience questioned a thing.
:) indicates new games debuted at CSzTC. (check out http://instagram.com/csz_twin_cities for pics of all the new games displayed)
BEST MOMENT EVER: After the Saturday early show, I was walking out of the locker room to go into the theatre to see the second half and Jill Bernard stops me and says, "You are really funny." All I mustered out of my mouth was noise and "so fun" or some variation of sounds that I attempted to make it sound like "I had so much fun..." It was a good show but Jill Bernard said I was funny.
SECOND BEST MOMENT: During the half of Friday's show I sat down in the back of theatre to see the second half and Jill sits down next to me. Throws her arms around me and kisses my cheek! WHAT?!  Later that nights, back at their apartment, Jill, Jaclynn and I all girl talked before bed. It was wonderful and amazing and made it difficult for both Jack and me to sleep.
Also, the presents we brought were perfect. Everyone really does love the t-shirts! Doug (who organized the whole kabootel) and Eric wore the tees to the afterparty on Saturday.

Another crazy thing: there were audience members from Michigan at all three shows, so we were naturally their favorites! I freaking love CSz Worldwide!
I didn't even get to the fun times that was had outside of the theatre. Jaclynn drove from Detroit to Chicago where were drank way a lot of alcohol and went to see the last Thursday night show at the original iO Theatre in Wrigleyville. Friday we drove from Chicago to Milwaukee through some awesome places and stopped at De Forest for water, Blue Gilly's Pancake Pier in Newville, and the International House of Wine & Cheese.
They organized lunches and dinners. And even a game of mojo kickball. See mojokickball.com
And best of all. CSz Family all over came in. It was wonderful. I feel so lucky.
