Other than Seer/Wraith, what other Apex ships are your jam? I'm very curious!
Seer/Wraith is fun but tbh not a âjamâ persay, but flattered you asked! Big Jams incoming~
(these are in no order whatsoever, I like some more than others, some barely qualified as a jam but you know, jam is jam)
-Mirage/Hound, Miragehound, is an OG fave of mine, I think I was (am?) one of the more prolific miragehound writers. Love them still. Like many, big factor is the seen/unseen aspect and that they each fill holes the other has.Â
-Horizon/Bangalore, Horizonlore, came to me in S7 with help of my friend and is one of my more active ships I fuckin' love. Mary deserves love and so does GrumpyLore.
-Horizon/Bloodhound, Horizonhound, itâs good shit. Gay as fuck. Valid as hell. I have a very long fanfiction that is ALMOST done but I kinda had to abandon it a-while back. Might try and finish it up and publish it though itâd be out of date with the seasons weâre in lmao.Â
-Crypto/Wraith, Cryptaith, this ship is like my main underground jam. I love it, I think it has a lot of potential and is a far âquieterâ ship than a lot of the other ones. Two melancholy people trying their best to become themselves again who are also huge meganerds There is basically zero content for this besides a one-shot I made for it last I checked, which is personally a shame. But they live in my head rent free.
-Loba/Octane, Lobatane, this isnât as big for me as it used to be but I find it fun, basically a crackship. The fact they canonly work together/are friends (lorebook) helped lmao. I like the opposites attract dynamic. And I like the idea of making fun of Loba for liking twinks.Â
-Lifeline/Rampart, Rampline, lookit these lilâ lesbians. I love them. Soft. Chaotic. Dangerous. I think Lifeline needs someone a little chaotic like Octane but unlike Octane, Rampart is actually pretty chill off-field. I just feel they really match each otherâs energy, just at different angles.Â
-Wattson/Mirage, Wattage, my friend got me into this one. They both like puns. Massive dorks. Might have a rocky start but I think as they get into it theyâd grow together.Â
-Loba/Bangalore, Lobalore, I didnât really like them until more recently. Theyâre my go-to âif theyâre gonna actually put a canon relationship in Apex, this is the best one they could doâ, and honestly I mostly like them in art and canon, but they are really fucking good. I think they have good chemistry, and obviously there is interest on Lobaâs part, and this is my personal musing regarding canon, I think Bangalore is also interested, but not immediately. She has her brother to find; Loba has issues with Rev but sheâs found him and exacted most of her revenge, so sheâs ready to move on where Bangalore canât yet. Once that changes, I think they could meld well.Â
-Fuse/Bloodhound, Fusehound, yeah Iâve fallen down the same hill everyone else has. Truthfully I think BH just needs a friend, but like Lobalore they have really good chemistry because of this. Fuse pulls them out of their shell, BH makes him realize/confront that he has his own issues (ex. Maggieâs suicide) and I think they both like to party.Â
Also, Fuse is a DILF and BH has a type donât @ me.
#cryptaith#horizonhound#horizonlore#lobalore#fusehound#wattage#rampline#lobatane#miragehound#apex legends#ask#kmtalks#kmwrites#so yeah i like these ones#seriously tho can someone make cryptaith content I dont have the time /hj#apex legends ships#ships i have

I have to ask because I'm super curious, but what's everyone's favorite ship(s) and why? What drew you to that ship? Why did you start shipping them? Do you ship them just because you like the idea of them together or do you feel like you would die if they don't eventually become cannon?
Here's some of mine:
Miraith: I saw their dynamic in the first cinematic trailer and I was like yeah, they're gonna be a thing. I'll make them a thing. They're a thing.
Cryptson/Smartysparks: The very first Halloween I noticed both of them had a bat thing going on with their costumes and thought about how cute it would have been if they helped each other out with their costumes, and from then on I just thought they'd be really cute together.
Lobalore: I actually didn't ship them at first because I didn't like the idea of them just hating on each other all the time, but then they started getting to know each other more and spending more time together AND NOW RESPAWN PLEASE MAKE THEM CANON OH MY GOD PLEASE
Wattane: I watched the season 2 trailer and I was like aww, they'd be so cute because octane's a wild card and wattson seems like she'd genuinely like spending time with him- as long as he doesn't get too overbearing around her.
BloodhoundxLobaxCrypto: I saw that clip where Allegra and Johnny were thirsting for Loba in their voices and now I'm obsessed with the idea of them all being a thing
FusexCaustic: The fact that Fuse slapped Caustic's ass and lives to tell the tale implies it wasn't all that bad đ
Cryptane: This was another ship I hated at first, but then I started thinking about it and I was like huh, they'd be pretty cute. Crypto's the calm and cool one while Octane's the wild and cool one. Their personalities are opposites but could probably fit well together.
Cryptaith: I don't know why I ship these two. I just like the idea of them being a thing because both of them are pretty quiet and to themselves, and they'd probably work well together. Honestly I think I see them more as best friends than a ship but I'm putting it in here anyway.

From the writer ask game: đ any fics planned to write?
đ any fics planned?
I have a lot of fics planned and half planned and want to plan and half-written and you're going to regret asking this question, though I appreciate it and anyone else that asks! This is pretty fun.
Big Fics:
HorizonxBloodhound/Horizonhound, Working Title: Lovestruck, about 58k words in with probably another 20ish before completion. I've talked about it a lot here so if you've followed me for a bit you know about it. Not gonna say much, but for ze first time I'll post the first few lines of BH being a goddamn simp:
She made them feel like they held the very dawn caged in their hands, the crimson of a new morning shining between the spaces of their fingers, too bright to be contained.
Perhaps that was a little dramatic.
Miragehound, "Moonstruck", this post made me go check and last I worked on it, I was about 45k in. It literally started because @translocatingbamboozler made a joke about Artur saying, "you're gonna learn how to read you little shit" to BH when they were a kid. I really loved working on it, don't know if I'll ever pick it up again since the lore is about a year out of date now, but I was really in love with the plot and characterizations I had in there and it was a lot more serious than some of my other work. Since I have the plot outlined pretty well, whether or not I finish/publish it is up in the air. Here's an excerpt, all from Mirage's perspective:
"I don't rec-recogni-know you," he said.
"Not my face, no," they said, words coated thickly in an accent that made his heart drop to the pit of his stomach, fully expecting to die.
"Oh my God."
"Lock the door." Lock the door? Sure, sure I'll lock the door, don't want anyone to walk in on your slatra, never!
In a weird moment of roboticsm, he went and locked the door, then returned to his doom. But they just turned back to looking out the window while he stood there like a stoner waiting for his pizza pocket to cook in an unplugged microwave.
HorizonxBangalore/Horizonlore, Title Undetermined. This is one I haven't actually started, but me and @translocatingbamboozler are huge into Horizonlore. Got into it right after Horizonhound. I've made notes and written some paragraphs, but I'm trying to keep myself focused on finishing the Horizonhound when it comes to big fics.
Surprise, ElsaxHoneymaren from Frozen, no title, started early 2020 for my friends and never completed because I'm an idiot AND an asshole. First chapter was fire too. Damn I need to finish this. Er, write it.
Smaller stuff:
-Little 3 chapter lobahound thing IDK if I'll ever finish
-I've got like, literally half a dozen miragehound oneshots sitting in limbo, including one from Bloodhound's first person perspective that I'd really like to finish up but I'm fucking stupid.
-Cryptaith one-shot, very sleepy, in Crypto's apartment in Gaea. I fucking love these two so much. By the way is anyone else...can someone else please write something for this? I've read my own one-shot over an embarrassing amount of times. I'd love to do a bigger fic on them, but I don't know where to start or end. It might just be a collection of vaguely connected oneshots? IDK. Fuck I love them. CryptoxWraith ftw.
-A bigger Miragehound mermaid AU but that's literally turned into my project for my writing class and also possibly an original novel so I'm stopping the details there.
-Also wrote a Moicy (MercyxMoira, Overwatch) one-shot because I fucking hate myself but love these fucking. Idiots. Moira has a secret and Mercy is like "yeah I'm finna do whatever to find it lets-a go"
-Couple Horizonlore oneshots, two were published, another one is a bit longer and IDK if I'll ever finish it
-RevenantxAsh thing from S5 that was heaps of Revenant being a grumpy, belligerant sass-bucket and Ash having fun making him do things like find out her name. I actually went back and read this and it's pretty goddamn funny so who knows, might actually finish it up
-This isn't anything I'm planning, but you made me remember I used to write Sherlock fanfiction and I have mixed feelings about that, lmao.
TLDR: Horizonhound full story, enough Miragehound to choke a horse, Horizonlore because I'm gay, soft Cryptaith
#miragehound#horizonlore#answering ask#ask meme#horizonhound#cryptaith#kmtalks#kmwrites#?#thanks for asking seriously im flattered you care enough same goes for the other anon it was a pleasant surprise#and a good distraction but im not going into that

When Wraith gets on the transport to Suotamo to apologize to Crypto, she never thought it would end like this.

âYou find out you have a name, and you donât even want it?â Heâd said.
âWhat do I want with something I donât even remember? Iâm not Renee, Iâm Wraith. Thatâs who Iâve been for the last six years.â
âGlad you were afforded the luxury of choice,â heâd clipped, moving his arms like he was going to throw his hands in the air, but being they were in his pockets he just ended up flapping his coat. Wraith had laughedâsheâd not meant to be mean, but he reminded her of a disgruntled owl fluffing itself. Heâd left without a word, and itâd taken her a couple mystified minutes to realize sheâd hurt him. Though it was usually the other way around, she went to Elliott to ask what she should do.
âUh, say sorry?â Heâd looked at her like she was stupid. She was, of course, but Wraith hardly let herself think like that. The voices created a rather nasty echo chamber sometimes.
âThatâs it?â
âHey, Iâm the one that makes ridiculous grand gestures, not you, remember? Itâd be out of character.â Heâd grinned.
Wraith had to agree, but nobody knew where Crypto livedâif he lived anywhere at all, reallyâso she had to wait until the next game. She hated giving out apologies at the best of times, but this time it was particularly nerve wracking. The voices were always a bit scrambled around him, but right now it was almost unbearable. âHey, Iâm sorry about last week.â
He rolled his eyes. Usually sheâd ignore him as well, but she felt compelled, which was strange. Were the voices persuading her somewhere in their jumbled madness? Was there a reason?
âIt wasnât what you said.â She added. âI mean, I wasnât laughing at you.â
He raised an eyebrow. âWhat were you laughing at?â
âI wasââ The alarm rang for the start of the match. Crypto began to move to join his squad and thinking she might not get the chance again until next week shot an uncharacteristic bolt of panic through her. âWait!â
He hesitated, just slightly, the alarm ringing again insistently. âMeet me at 6th later, if you care that much.â
âWhere the fuck is 6th?â
He joined his squad, not even looking at her. The voices scrambled so hard they became a ringing in her ear. The cherry on top was being matched with two randos and dying before even reaching the last ten.
If there was a God, and they were trying to teach her a lesson forâŠwhatever reason, well, she got the point, alright?
She didnât stay to watch the livestream, going straight to her tiny apartment and the three screaming furballs that tripped her soon as she entered. She gave them their due pets, replying to their meows with much more enthusiasm than she ever replied to her human family. She got into the shower, breathing deeply.Â
You guys gonna tell me where 6th is? Has to be a street, right? The voices replied in a jumble of noâs and yesâs. When she tried to clear out what the yesâs were saying, it just came out as, finally, so slow, good, and memory. Odd. She stood in the shower so long thinking about it, she didnât even realize the water had gone cold. After she shivered her way into a bathrobe, letting her uncombed hair airdry, she started scrolling through all the 6th streets, avenues, roads and boulevards in Solace City, but it didnât seem rightâshe didnât even know if he lived on Solace, they never really talked about their personal lives. She bit her lip, thinking. Did anyone know where he lived? Chatty, a voice whispered. Right, she should text Elliott. Â
Ugh. For someone who could never shut up face to face, Elliott was one of the most succinct texters sheâd ever met. She went ahead and Googled it, finding it about a half-hour from Solace if taking a mega-speed transport. Then she Googled 6th in Suotamo. One street popped up. 6th.
Not 6th Street, not 6th Avenue, just 6th.
Motherfucker.
She pulled on a large, shapeless sweater and leggings, grabbed her keys and phone, and headed to the station. She didnât really question the fact she was going to all this effort just to apologize. Perhaps some part of her had just figured it was good to have Crypto on her side; word was he had built all sorts of connections, so maybe he could be useful later. Or she just didnât want to have that awkward conflict when working on a team. It was hard enough watching Loba and Bangalore on the same team, and she didnât want that kind of disruption on the fieldâthough she didnât think he was that petty. He was professional, like her, and quiet, unlike 2 of her top 3, which could be nice when Elliott had his chatterbox days.
The longer she spent in the rumbling transport seat, however, the more she let herself admit a creeping truth: maybe she just liked him.
**
Suotamo was all industrialism; skyscrapers and towering housing blocks with tiny balconies and smaller windows. In the twilight, electric signs were flickering to life, making a delightful buzz that dampened the voices and cast a great array of color into the street puddles. Her sneakers clattered over perforated sheet metal laid before the crosswalks as she made her way from 4th Street to 5th Avenue, and finally to 6th. The corner she landed on was directly across from a crusty dirt lot with a chain link fence that had been broken and rolled down on one side like a rug. Down one street was a mass of tall neon signs in Hangul; judging by the smell, it was mostly food. The other side was dilapidated housing and a convenience store whose name was also in hangul. She hugged a streetlight pole, looking around with wide eyes as people passed by.
Yes, she was a professional murderer for a living. But she was also a small woman in a strange city, unarmed, where everyone seemed to speak every language but English.
But her nerves were soon soothed when she saw him across the street. She cocked her head to the side when she processed what he was wearing. All of his usual hackerây looking necklaces, but instead of that stupid vest he wore all the time it was an oversized gray shirt with a green bomber jacket, also one size too big. Slim black joggers emphasized how skinny he really was, and vans pulled together the cityâboy look. ItâŠlooked really good on him. And fit in with everyone else in the area. Smart.
He cocked his head back at her, which was how she came to realize she was doing that in the first place. She glanced both ways before jogging over. âHi.â
âAnnyeonghaseyo.â He bent his head, nearly entering a bow. He was wearing a small silver stud in one ear.
âDidnât know you were into fashion.â
âYou think Iâd be stupid enough to wear my gear out here?â
âIâ itâs just, the only thing I see you in.â
He gave her a once over, possibly a little slower than needed, according to a voice. She told that voice to shut up. âI can say the same for you.â He crossed his arms. âNow, what were you talking about on the dropship?â
Shit, the apology. The entire reason she was there. How had she forgotten that? Sheâd just sort of focused on the fact they were actually meeting outside of work. âI only laughed because I, uh, because I was picturing you as an angry owl in my head.â
Well. That certainly startled him. âWhat?â
âYâknow. An owl. Cacaw,â she flapped her arms slightly, realizing sheâd been hanging out with Elliott too much. âLike, uhâŠwait, thatâs not an owl noise.â
âOwls hoot.â He said.
She swallowed hard, her stomach twisting around. If it wasnât for the city noise, sheâd be screaming with all the talking going on in her head, beating in tandem with her heart. âI justâ when you, you hand your hands in your pockets and kind of flapped them, and your jacket was like, wings, I guess, and I justâŠsaw an angry owl in my head and it was funny. Iâm sorry.â
He paused. âWhat kind of owl?â
âA snowy owl,â she said immediately. âWith glasses. I dunno why glasses, you donât wear them.â
âI do, actually.â
She blinked. âOh.â A beat. âCan I see?â
He raised both eyebrows. She expected to be rejectedâhe had to be wearing contacts so why would he even have the glasses with hiâoooookay he had them on him, buried deep in a pocket. Thick black rimmed ones. He popped them on, and warmth burst in her belly as she realized, to her horror, that he was cute.
âI look like a nerd, huh?â There was light amusement in his voice, a rarity. He moved to take them off.
âNo!â She said, far too quickly and far too loudly, startling her and him both. âI mean, you look cuâgreat, you look really good in them.â
He eyed her a moment, slowly lowering his hand. âReally?â
âReally.â
He shoved his hands in his pockets and shifted a little awkwardly, looking off. She stared at her shoes until she heard him clear his throat. He looked down on her, not quite as much as Elliott, but he probably had a good five inches on her. âDo you like noodles?â
âYeah?â
He shifted again, stance somewhere between a soldier ready for war and an awkward teenage boy. âDo youâŠwant to go get some? I know a good place.â
She was too stunned to really react at all. âSounds good.â
And like that, they were walking toward the neon signs, side by side. A little further from each other than was probably normal, though when others would pass by on the narrow sidewalk, Crypto would lean in, and sheâd get the slightest waft ofâholy shit, was that Axe? But it smelled good? Last time sheâd smelled Axe sheâd gotten a headache because Octavio had used it instead of a shower before a game, but this stuff was crisp, a little lemony, she had to try her best not to inhale loudly whenever he got close.Â
They came to some little hole in the wall that Crypto had to duck to walk into. Booths pressed as closely together as possible, tables crowding the floor and every seat at a bar filled, faint Kâpop weaving around voices and noodle slurping. When they sat at the booth nearest the back, their shoes touched because it was so small. She expected to get a menu, but instead the server came over and said something in Korean to Crypto.
âDo you drink?â He asked.
âUh, yeah?â
âLike soju?â
âI have no idea what that is.â He shrugged and said something to the waiter. He poured them two glasses of iceless water and left. Crypto pressed himself into the corner of the wall, one leg along the length of the seat, the other on the floor. Wraith also scooched into the corner, she always liked to, and seeing someone else do it made her feel less weird. If he noticed, he didnât say anything. She fidgeted with her fingers. âUm. So. Weather.â
âI hate small talk.â
âOh thank God, me too.â She saw it, almost a smile. âBring up something interesting, you know?â
âYes, like what kind of owl you are.â
She blushed, looking away. âShut up.â
âI think youâre a spotted owl.â He sipped his water.
She would never hear the end of it if Elliott had been there, because she perked up like a puppy. âWhy?â
âFeels right.â
âFair enough.â She started sliding the soy sauce bottle between her hands, then glanced up at him and slid it his way. He raised an eyebrow and slid it back. They kept it up while talking. âCan I ask you a question?â
âDo not expect an answer.â
âJustâŠwhat to call you. Besides Crypto.â
He warmed the soy sauce bottle with his hands before passing it back. Monkey brain Wraith had the passing thought that it was almost kind of sort of not really like holding hands. âHyeon. Itâs not myâŠreal name.â
She nodded. âI figured. You gotta be cautious, even if they know, to a point.â
He sat up a little, some part of him smoothing out; Wraith couldnât see it, but she could sense it. The voices, so scattered, like TV static, reduced themselves to a buzz in the back of her head. âYah. I do.â
The soju came first. A green bottle and two shot glasses, which CryptoâHyeon? Sheâd keep Crypto mentally, for nowâhe poured while saying, âYoungest pours first, traditionally. And you pass it with two hands and take it with two hands.â He held the shot glass and passed it to Wraith, who made sure to use both hands. He seemed entertained. âYou donât have to do it that way every time, though.â
âThatâs fascinating,â she said, truthfully. âWhy so specific?â
âAll relates to the old ways things were done, back on Earth. So many cultures got jumbled together in the Frontier, but at least in Sutoamo, Koreans have kept most of theirs.â He paused before knocking back the shot like a professional. Elliott would be eating his hat if he was there. âItâs traditional not to sip the first shot.â
She raised an eyebrowâthe corner of his mouth was twitching, thinking of smiling. He was enjoying this. Well, she was too. She braced herself and knocked back the whole thing, surprised by the flavorâa bit like a sweet vodka, with a hint of strawberry. She almost didnât cough. âWow, thatâs something.â
âYou like it?â
âI think I do.â
He smirked and poured for her again, then himself, sipping this time. âYouâre not supposed to leave a friendâs glass empty, either.â
She smelled itâsweet, crisp. Definitely strawberry. âSo, weâre friends?â
He seemed to think a moment and downed that shot as well before speaking. âIâll consider it. At the very least I donât look so sad drinking with someone else for once.â From the look on his face, that was sojuâfueled word vomit. âItâs just against tradition to drink alone, people think thereâs something wrong with you,â he added hastily.
âRight.â She didnât get a chance to screw that up as a bowl of steaming noodles was placed in front of her. They were dark glass noodles, and there were vegetables, and meat. Thatâs all she knew. The waiter also gave her a fork, but not Crypto.
âJapchae,â he said, snapping apart the wooden chopsticks. âItâs usually a sideâdish, but itâs all they make here. Itâs a stir fry.â
âHell yeah.â That actually got a chuckle out of him, and she knew it wasnât just the soju making her feel warm. Her focus was stolen by the food, however, as she was starving, and anything fried and/or noodles made for a very happy Wraith. She stirred it all up, a bed of rice hidden underneath it, and started shoving sweet and savory into her face. Crypto was no better. Between the japchae and soju they talked, Cryptoâs words flowing with fewer pauses, no clipped edges, smooth and cool. Once they finished the bottle bubbles of laughter began to escape between his lips.
He was acting likeâŠa normal dude, for the most part. Telling her about more Korean drinking traditions, all of which seemed centered on getting everyone at the table drunk as quickly as possible. Mentioning his other favorite places to eat, but all of them were Korean names she couldnât comprehend, let alone pronounce. They ordered another bottle and he served again, hand steady, aimâŠslightly off, but Wraith just wiped up the spot. The warmth of company and drink was enough to rile up a little courage in her, risk trying for actual personal questions. âDo you have any pets?â
âHuh? Ah, yah. Heh. I have a cat.â
She grinned. âI have three.â
âShow me.â He leaned forward, and she pulled up pictures of her trio, a white Persian, a tortoiseshell, and a Siamese. âBubbles, Blossom and Buttercup.â
âOh, like the show?â
âYeah, I love it.â She bit her lip, smiling sheepishly. âI uh, love cartoons.â
He snorted, tapping the corner of his glasses. âI can still name every PokĂ©mon. All of them.â
She laughed. âShow me your cat.â
He pulled out his phone, scrolled and then held up a picture of an orange striped behemoth. Wraith almost squealed. âHeâs so cute!â
âTofu. My trash son.â
âWhy is he your trash son?â
âI found him in the trash. Little kitten,â he leaned to the side funny while showing how small with his hands. âWas eating old tofu skins out of a takeout box. So, Tofu. Itâs his favorite food, too.â He looked down at the photo. âJibang. Fatty.â
âPerfect fatty.â
âYah.â
They got halfway through the second bottle before finishing their meals. Crypto paid with cash and swiped the bottle of soju on the way out. It was fully night now, a humid chill pressing against her skin. The street was lit by a mixture of streetlamps and neon light as the nightlife took flight. She glanced over to see Crypto swigging straight from the bottle. Soon as he caught her eye he snorted and pulled the bottle away with a halfâclumsy sidestep, arm over his nose as his chest shook with restrained laughter. She stopped to stare at him, grinning stupidly, though she didnât know it. Alcohol had a wonderful voice dampening affect. âCaught you,â she said.
A giggle escaped into his sleeve. Red splashed over his cheeks and nose, bright in the streetlights. âI think Iâve drank too much. Iâm going to say something I shouldnât.â
âProbably just do something stupid, like drink straight from the bottle. What if I want some more, huh?â She said this all teasingly. Sheâd never been like this with anyone but Elliott.
He grinned, the most sheâd ever seen from him, and it was silly, and light, and beautiful, and he held the bottle by the lip and swung it idly. âGuess itâs too bad, huh?â
Too bad her ass. She swiped it and drank without hesitation. She relished the look on his face and did something quite unlike herself, holding out the bottle and tapping the lip to his chin. âYou still want some?â
Slowly he took it, cocking his head to the side, which she copied, and sipped. Then passed it back to her, walking side by side, mirrors of themselves in the earlier evening, but closer, and warmer. She imagined the sweet strawberry to be the taste of kissing him, and the chill wet press of the night air against her skin his hand. She felt like it would be clammy. Or would it be warm and firmâthe same feeling as a hand sheâd held a lifetime ago, the memory of another Wraith threading it through the crinkles of her brain.
It didnât matter, she decided, what that old hand had felt like, just like it didnât matter what her old name had felt like on her lips or sounded coming from anotherâs. The now mattered, the now and the toâbe. And while the toâbe was still blurry and a little scary, the now was warm and hazy, it made no sense at all and she loved it. She took the last sip as they came to the convenience store she saw earlier, and both stopped, staring at the blinding white around the sign letters. They looked at each other and came to the mutual decision to get drunk snacks.
The lights were almost painful, and the shelves, while hosting the expected candy and chips, were also filled with an erroneous amount of instant ramen, teas and drinks with cubes of jelly in them, gimbap, bibimbap, banchan and a surprising variety of meat on sticks forâŠsome reason. She recognized some things and not others, leading to the two of them standing in one of the middle isles while Crypto drunkenly talked about a sandwich, which you were supposed to bring up front to be cooked. The one he was holding was strawberry jam and cream cheese. Wraith wasnât sure she trusted it, but they ended up getting it, along with some type of Japanese chips and a handful of other things that two drunks thought sounded good. They stepped out and Wraith looked at their bag. âHyeon, where are we going to eat this?â
Crypto looked around, rubbing at his face. The synthetic skin crinkled like the normal skin, which she hadnât expected. Sheâd always thought of it like metal plating. He nodded towards the sketchy ass dirt lot. For some reason that seemed like a good idea, and so Wraith sat on a cinderblock in the outskirts of a streetlamp with a guy who a few hours ago had been little more than someone to talk to between matches, halfâdrunk and rifling through a bag of food she only vaguely recognized. Some inkling of a voice seemed to suggest that this was a bad idea in one universe, but two or three threaded together to tell her they were safe, even if it didnât seem like it.
She did feel safe with him, there was just something about him, the longer she spent in his air. She really didnât know too much about him, just that he had a lot of open secrets with the Syndicate, and that Caustic was under a gag order regarding his real identity, since they were both from Gaea, but otherwise he thought Mirage was an idiot and didnât talk to people outside of the ring. Except for you, a voice reminded her, a gentle nudging tone to it. It made her heart skip a beat when he passed her one of the strange jelly drinks.
âItâs called MoguâMogu. Means âto chewâ in Japanese,â he said.
âDo you speak that too?â She sipped it and, yeah, she was definitely chewing it. She didnât know how she felt about chewing her drink, but the flavor was good.
âNo. My sister was just obsessed with these.â He stopped, a drop in the mood so sudden she could almost hear it. Sheâd heard rumor about his sister having passed. The voices suggested nefarious things had happened. âShe got them every day before class. When we had money.â
She swallowed. âIt is pretty good.â
âYah.â He rolled his shoulders, staring off. She continued sipping, the cinderblock suddenly uncomfortable, the chill almost too much, the neon blue glow over low, old industrial buildings to their back metamorphosizing from lively to sinister. But all at once that was pulled away again when he sighed and readjusted himself, looking up at the sky. It was a big expanse of dark blue fog, not a star to be seen. Solace was the exact opposite. âWraith?â
âYeah?â
âI miss her.â
She adjusted herself, staring at the drink. At a loss, she offered it to him. And thatâs when she saw it, breaking to the surface, cracking through layers and layers: a smile, for real. Not for fun, but something brighter, from somewhere deeper. It felt like being shown the inside of a treasure chest. He took the drink, sipped it, and breathed deeply. âIâm going to say something stupid.â
âOkay.â
He halfâlaughed. âYouâre not even going to try and stop me?â
âNah.â
He laughed fully, and even that felt realer than it had earlier. âWell. Well,â he swallowed, and sipped the drink, seeming to steel himself. âIâŠTaejoon Park.â
She understood immediatelyâhis real name. And no wonder Caustic was on a gag order, because that name had reached Solace, Gridiron, and even Talos. The voices began to gather and flood her with informationâthe admission had been a catalyst. Taking a moment to collect herself, she picked the sandwich out of the bag, broke it at the seam created by the panini press, and offered him half. He furrowed his brow but took it. âI like it,â she said.
âWhat?â
âYour name. Taejoon. It fits you.â
He blinked, looking at the sandwich, then back at her again. His mouth was fallen in confusion, and he was squinting at her. Like a mole that had surfaced into the daylight. A very cute mole. âYou, uh, you donât recognize it?â
âI recognize it. And I know what you did,â she gestured at her head, and his eyes widened.
âI didnât. I nânever would.â
âI know,â she said, and she hoped he could tell how much she meant it. There was still alcohol warmth in her cheeks, but her mind was clearer than it had been. âThey fucked you completely.â
He swallowed. âI havenât said my name inâŠI donât remember when.â
âCan I keep calling you it? Not in front of the others.â
He seemed to think, and she hoped part of his thoughts were on what she was insinuatingâthat theyâd meet again, outside the ring, outside the dropship. âPlease,â he said finally.
She grinned, and so did he, before taking a huge bite of the sandwich, chewing a moment, and then letting out a bark of laughter and falling from his cinderblock into the dusty lot ground, sandwich resting on his chest. He started giggling and Wraith stood to look down at him, chewing, committing the way the orange edges of streetlight cast a brassy gleam on his ruddy cheeks to memory. Is this the memory the voice was mentioning? âDude?â
Taejoon giggled again, back of his hand hiding his mouth. âI havenât felt this light in years.â
That makes me so happy. âIâm glad.â She said.
His cheeks moved, his hidden grin wider. He pointed with his other hand. âYou have jam on your face.â
âHuh?â She leaned down, because his hand had muffled his words, and suddenly his thumb was at the corner of her mouth, pressing and swiping.
âJam,â he said, resting the tip of one long finger at the corner of her mouth. âRight there.â
âOh.â She whispered. Neither moved for a moment, and then, guided by desire or a silent voice, she wasnât sure, Wraith simultaneously lowered herself to her knees while Taejoon pushed himself up on his elbow. Do it, do it, do it, said a chorus of voices. âIf you want to do something else stupid,â she said, âIâd do it now.â
His eyes scanned her face, the sharpness dulled by drink, but not the longing. âI donât know if it is too risky.â
âMight be riskier not to,â she whispered.
âI donât knowâŠâ
âTaejâ!â He leant up and kissed her, quickly, almost a peck, and then again. Not like any of the nasty suckâtheâairâoutâofâyourâlungs kisses she saw in movies, but a warm press of the lips, three seconds as most, fueled by want and wish and fuckâitâness. Not that sheâd kissed a lot of people, two to be exact, but it was still quite possibly the best kiss sheâd ever had, for reasons that would crowd a page. She realized the memory the voice had mentioned wasnât the gleaming light on his cheeks, but now, when he looked up at her, eyes huge with awe that heâd actually done it, biting his lip against a nervous little smile. Glasses crooked. âYou,â she started, licking over her lower lip, tapping the glasses into place, âyou taste like strawberries.â
âSo do you,â he breathed. âTâThis isnât just the soju, right?â
She shook her head. âI donât think so.â
âMe either.â
âSo thisââ
âItâs a thing.â He said.
âA good thing.â
âIt is?â
âI think it is. You donât?â
âI do,â he said, finally sitting up. She grabbed hold of his hand, and she had been completely wrongâit wasnât clammy, but warm, dry, rougher than she guessed. âBut, well, Iâm kind of a disaster.â
âYouâre talking to an interdimensional freakshow,â she said.
âYouâre not a freakshow.â
She smiled a little. âInterdimensional gremlin disaster then.âÂ
He snorted, turning to face her, back to the light. He tilted half into her and then pulled himself up again, steadying with a hand to her shoulder. âYouâre not a very steady drunk, are you.â
âNope,â he said with absolutely zero hesitation. She chuckled. She felt his hand move to hover hesitantly by her cheek, and she looked at him while she leaned into it. He breathed deeply and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear like in one of Elliottâs shitty romcoms she might have secretly enjoyed. The voices were a joyful thrum in the back of her head. Heh, maybe having cheerleaders is fun sometimes. Wraith held on to that moment, against the dark and the uncertainty of what she was supposed to doâthere wasnât exactly a social guideline of what to do after kissing your coworker in an empty lot following what could be a life ending confession, if she was anyone else.
Some part of her decided they at least should be standing, and, being the far steadier of the two, she reluctantly left his hand and ended up helping him to his feet, giggling a bit as he stumbled into her. He smiled shyly, running a hand through his hair while she grabbed their bag of half eaten goods. She knew he was watching her, and when she turned back to him, he was frowning. âWhatâs wrong?â
âIâŠam serious, about, ah, being a disaster. I mean, Iâm wanted for murder. I have prices on my head for more than that, on three planets at least. The Syndicate has let me live so far butâŠâ He sort of shrugged. âI donât know how long that will last.â
She paused. âWhat was your plan, when you joined the Games?â
âTake them down. The whole organization.â
âBut you didnât.â She felt a nudging near her temple, a sort of confirmation in her thoughts. âYou got to know us.â
âI did. I thought you were all monsters, butâŠwell, Gibraltar, heâs just trying to help people heâŠcares about.â His shoulders slumped and he angled his head toward the sky, breath condensing like dragon smoke. âLifeline, too. Bangalore needs money to find her family, Pathfinder is looking for his creator, and even Witt, with his mother and, and youâŠâ He looked back at her. âYou just want to figure out who you are.â
âItâs all Iâve ever known,â she confirmed.
âAnd knowing that, I donât know if I can justâŠdestroy it, without leaving something forâŠfor people whoâŠâ He held up a hand, wavering, and then dropped it. âI just donât know.â
It looked like it pained him, physically, to admit that. She also highly doubted heâd have admitted it if he was even half an inch more sober. She thought carefully before offering her hand, which he took. She half pulled him along to the rolled fence, clambering up and out like they had earlier. âI donât care if itâs dangerous to be around you,â she said.
âI donât want someone else getting hurt,â he said.
âYouâre trying to drive me off, arenât you?â
âI think so.â
âWell, you shouldnât have kissed me if you wanted to do that.â She smiled just slightly. In the full lamplight, he looked doubly as shy as he had earlier.
âI did do that, huh.â
âYou did.â
He cursed in Korean, and she chuckled. They held hands as they walked; they moved through the nightclub and food stall crowds like blood in water, swirling and dipping, unnoticed in the menagerie of humanness. âSo, youâre saying Iâm stuck with you?â He asked as they bled back into the dim night.
âIïżœïżœm saying Iâm willing to work with the whole âwanted criminalâ aspect.â
âMm.â Taejoon was quiet then, from there to the transport station. It wasnât awkward, like how it could be with Elliott or Path, but more like with Natalie. A subject was left hanging, but that was fine. Silence fosters thought, mon ami, and with that comes some shocking revelationsâŠget it?
God Nat, I love you, you little pun goblin.
They stopped at the transport station, and Wraith bought a ticket from the kiosk and headed to where the other three people stupid enough to be out that late were boarding. She turned to Taejoon when the doors creaked open, taking both his hands, the bag at her elbow. She felt a tingling nervousness in her toes at the words pushing her tongue to move, to speak. âSo, weâre going to do this? Try thisâŠas something?â
He squeezed her hands, biting his lip and boy howdy did that make her feel some things. âYeah,â he said, softly, âlets make this something.â
She grinned, all a flutter as she popped up on her toes and kissed him. This must be what people mean when they say they feel like a kid, she thought, almost skipping away to the transport, calling to the mildly surprised Taejoon that sheâd see him at the next game. She found a seat and for once in her memory fidgeted not in pain or discomfort or anxiety but in utter jiggly joy. She chanced a last look back as the transport lulled out of the station, pressing her face to the glass sealed in preparation for space travel in order to see him.
Taejoon was still staring at the transport, hands idle in the air where sheâd held them. Then, slowly, he pumped his fists into the air and twirled around, grinning like heâd won a championship.

Legends react to being hit on by another legend? could be interesting! sorry for sending two i just rlly want u to make more đ
Hey, sorry for being so long to reply! Because it would be a lot to do a reaction for everyone, and I feel the reactions would be extremely different depending on who hits on/flirts with who, I narrowed it down by tackling what I would probably consider my personal major ships, sort of in order by which ones I got into first; miragehound was definitely the first, though the last four kind of all came on in S7 with the invention of my newest coping mechanism, Mary âHorizonâ Somers.
This also turned into more of a âLegends react to other legends hitting on/flirting with them/asking them out on a dateâ, just kind of whatever I guess. Ships listed below, ship names applied to the paragraphs following:
MiragexBloodhound, CryptoxWraith, WattsonxMirage, HorizonxBangalore, HorizonxLoba, RampartxLifeline.
Anyhow, here we go.
Miragehound â Mirage x Bloodhound
Bloodhound: Itâs probably happened before in a joking manner, because itâs Mirage, but when they realize he actually means it this time theyâre totally caught off guard. If theyâre wearing their mask, they are blushing like the dickens underneath it and smiling because heâs sweet and kind of funny about it, and they really donât get that often. If they are not wearing a mask, they are trying so hard to not let it show, except theyâre grinning like a dork so RIP Hound, Mirage won this one (and also probably your heart).
Mirage: Just a bumbling mess. Bloodhound was probably kind of blunt but also weirdly poetic because Theyâre Just Like That, probably compared him to the sun or something and he stumbled out a âthank youâ and then was like, âyour goggles, goggles theyâre, you know theyâre hot-er-cool-er-I like â your face.â If he hasnât seen their actual face, heâll try and add that heâd like to see their face to try and flirt back and then wish he could go consult his 14 year old self, because that guy got two girlfriends at one point and he could really use his advice right about now.
Cryptaith â Crypto x Wraith
Wraith: She wouldnât know sheâd been hit on until an hour later, because Cryptoâs version of hitting on someone is probably, âyour hair looks niceâ or âyouâre really good with that knifeâ. Honestly, she probably wouldnât know for sure until he offered her some of his lunch, since the man is pretty well known to think everyone is going to poison him. Frankly, sheâs quietly flattered.
Crypto: Error 404: brain not found. Issue: Pretty girl flirted with me. Initiate shutdown and embarrassment protocols immediately. This will prompt an immediate system override, he will forget how to talk, trip over something, squeak and run away with his head down in his collar like a turtle. Unfortunately (read: very fortunately) for him, Wraith thinks it is adorable and will probably proceed to flirt with him more and forever.
Wattage â Wattson x Mirage
Wattson: Surprisingly easygoing about it, a little flustered but manages to say something right back with a grin. She definitely did not practice flirting in her head. Never. She will later tell her Nessie or Horizon all about it.
Mirage: Not quite as nervous as with BH but he does bumble a little because Wattson got him when he least expected it. Probably teased him about his equipment not being waterproof and he went on the defense, citing all the alterations heâs made and she said something like, âpretty and smart? I like that.â He got shot while trying to think what to say back.
Horizonlore â Horizon x Bangalore
Bangalore: So, this woman is oblivious. Iâm talkinâ brick wall oblivious. No goggles underwater blind. Driving in a blizzard with your lights off so you miss every sign along the way. Horizon hits on her blatantly. Several times. Horizon isnât sure sheâs into women, Loba promises she is. By all calculations, saying, âyouâre so pretty I could kiss ye right here in the dropship, lassâ should instigate something else than, âoh, uh, thank you! I like youâre hair.â Itâs the day Horizon finally says, âyou look great in those jeans, want to go on a romantic date?â That Bangalore realizes and has to sit down and contemplate how much of a dumbass she is.
Horizon: Significantly less oblivious, it only took her about three days to realize Bangalore had been hitting on her. She now perks up like a puppy every time, especially since most of what Bangalore says is (sometimes revamped) Shakespeare quotes. Yeah, theyâre both romantics.
Horizonhound â Horizon x Bloodhound
Hound: Pretty girls make them stupid. She says anything that can be interpreted as flirtation and theyâre hardly much better than Mirage, though theyâll say something poetic and kind of pretty back regardless, thanks to a little thing called ârandom immeasurable luckâ. Having the favor of the gods helps, too.
Horizon: So Bloodhound doesnât so much hit on Horizon as perform a complicated mating ritual that begins with bringing her small gifts and trinkets and then evolves into book exchanges and evolves from there into actual conversations. Then that, finally, evolves into them growing a pair and, while watching her do something mundane, casually state, âyou know, I have recently realized I might have a thing for redheads, felagi.â They are not prepared when she states that she has a thing for blondes and, âIâd like to ken if youâre part of the rule or an exception at, say, at 7?â Because she has been waiting for them to say something like that and takes great satisfaction in practically knowing theyâre blushing under their mask.
StarStealers â Horizon x Loba
Horizon: The first few times she didnât think anything of it, since Loba is just like that. But then thereâs a time after a game that Loba says, âIâd like to see you around a lot more often, beautiful,â and tucks a piece of paper in Horizonâs hand with her phone number on it. Horizon probably covers her mouth while giggling like a schoolgirl because itâs fucking Loba and she would have never guessed sheâd be interested in her but fuck is she not complaining. Smart pretty women are kind of her ideal.
Loba: So, Horizon is such a sweetheart and whatever method she chooses is probably a little dorky, and maybe a bit clumsy being sheâs rather out of practice but will probably involve a love note with a really bad science pun on it because she asked Wattson for advice. Whatever it is, Loba is absolutely head over heels. If sheâs in the dropship or otherwise visible, she just slowly grins. If sheâs alone she bounces in her seat and might even giggle, just a little bit. She keeps a copy of the note taped to the inside of her Apex locker like a lovestruck teenager (this is, provided, they end up in a relationship).
Rampline â Rampart x Lifeline
Lifeline: Rampart tends to go big or go home. After spending approximately 2 weeks debating with herself internally, Rampart just waltzes right up to her, leans on the doorframe or something and says, âdo you believe in love at first sight, or should I walk by again?â Lifeline would think she was joking and laugh, wave her off. Then Rampart would sort of panic and say, âno, I mean, like, you wanna like, uh, I like you but in a gay way.â Lifeline then smiles brightly and arranges a date on the spot, much to Rampartâs relief.
Rampart: Theyâve been hanging out a bit and are chilling when Lifeline just sorta says, âhey, I think yuh really pretty, you know?â And Rampart, with all the grace of a donkey on roller skates, says, âthatâs neatâ while her voice cracks like a thirteen-year-old boyâs. Somehow Lifelineâs laugh banishes most of the embarrassment, and she even manages to flirt back without stuttering.

alright i got two more for ya if you'll bite
crypto x mirage
and
lobalore
Cryptane/crypto x mirage
Tbh used to be more into it, still valid and usually pretty fun cause of banter but I've become more into crypto x wraith/cryptaith and honestly these two as bickering friends is great. And yes I want to kiss them both.
Lobalore
Didn't used to be into it much and still prefer Horizonlore but god they look good together. And tho I'm team "no Canon ships" between legends, if there was gonna be a canon one this one probably has some of the best set up. And fuck am I free all week for either of them.
