I'm dying Knight's explaining the phenomenon of fanfiction to their person (who is not involved in fandom) and -

Knight: you really want the middle ground. I care a lot about some ships that are really popular, which means there's a LOT of fic and most of it is garbage. Mouse is on the other end of the spectrum, because she cares a lot about some ships that nobody's ever heard of, so there's not even garbage to dig through.
