@always-a-joyful-note I am nabbing your tags (og post here) not only bc they were a joy to read but also your comment about how kdj cant see his impact and importance in yjh's life struck a cord in me. Because yes kdj pushes so hard to change this story with his own two hands, and he recognizes that yjh is changing- but he can't follow that change to the logical conclusion that he is the cause of it. And yes yes oblivious kdj jokes abound, but it really goes to show just how disconnected kdj is from the people around him. It's not that he is too slow to recognize such things, it's just that he still sees himself as a fly on the wall. He's not a person who makes connections and who people cherish or call a friend. He just. Exists. Tries to go as unnoticed as possible. He's never had a significant relationship with anyone ever besides his mother until orv starts and well...we all know how convoluted that is. To him, being significant enough, emotionally, to alter a person is such a foreign concept to him that he doesn't even fathom it. In the moments that he does, it's often in a negative light, where he paints himself as someone manipulating or saying the right thing for morally suspect reasons. In much the same way, he cannot recognize the affection and care given to him. Even more so with yjh, who already shows his care in such unconventional (to put it politely) ways, kdj clearly just doesn't know how to interpret such things- and for the times he does, he downplays it, because there's no way he could be *that* important, right?

But he is and kimcom loves him so much and one day he'll be able to understand how big that love is
