Disney Television Animation X Walt Disney Imagineering Collaboration "San Fransokyo Square" Sets Opening Date, Confirms Big Hero 6 The Series Easter Eggs
After being promised at the recent D23 Expo, we are now getting an update from Walt Disney Imagineering, revealing that San Fransokyo Square is arriving at Disney California Adventure, August 31, 2023 as part of the 100 Years of Wonder at the Disneyland Resort.
The area will have some elements debuting in the month and a half as a lead-up.
During a PR Preview provided by Laughing Place, it was confirmed that the area will be featured with easter eggs from the various iterations of the Big Hero 6 story, including the Disney Television Animation's Big Hero 6 : The Series and Walt Disney Animation Studios Baymax! provided by both studios.
Starting in mid-July, you’ll be able to sample new San Fransokyo selections at Lucky Fortune Cookery, and the Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería will officially open. In the weeks following, additional dining options, unique shopping and more will be introduced as the transformation of this thriving seaside plaza continues through its official debut on August 31st.
When the transformation is completed, locations across the area – from the Cappuccino Cart outside the San Fransokyo Gate Bridge to The Bakery Tour – will be decked out in street art and colorful banners celebrating the Big Hero 6 team after their victory over Yokai.
The diverse array of flavorful fare in San Fransokyo Square will include current favorites and new creations inspired by Asian cuisine, as well as the Big Hero 6 themselves. Aunt Cass Café, the second bakery café operated by Hiro’s loving aunt, will serve dishes, soups in freshly-baked Boudin sourdough bread bowls and more inspired by Japanese cuisine. On the outside of this quick service restaurant, you’ll find a mural of Aunt Cass’ lucky pet cat, Mochi.
An old fishing net tannery across from the café is being converted to Rita’s Turbine Blenders, a giant drink dispenser offering delicious margaritas and icy beverages. This refreshment stand is owned and named after the repair technician who maintains the floating wind turbine, resembling a giant koi fish, that sits atop the structure.
Guests will also be able to meet with Baymax, who will talk for the very first time!
"San Fransokyo Square" is the lastest Disney Television Animation X Walt Disney Imagineering collaboration between "Mickey And Minnie's Runaway Railway" at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Toontown, "Aqua-Mouse" at Disney Wish from Disney Cruise Line, Passholder Magnets for Disney Springs and Disneyland with animations from "The Wonderful World Of Mickey Mouse", redesings from Paul Rudish and Asia Ellington for "Orange Bird","Dumbo" and "Figment", "DuckTales World Showcase Adventure" and providing redesings and decoring for the "Toontown" refreshment with "Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard","Donald's Boat",Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster,"The EngineEar Souvenirs Shop" featuring various Disney Afternoon characters and locations.

hi tags ! a friend and i have a little extra time until the end of the year so we were thinking of creating a temporary, omegaverse oc krp hosted on mewe that will run until january. before we start working on it, we want to know if it would be worth our time and yours ! we know there are a couple of omegaverse places in the tags right now, but we haven't seen one of this concept, and it's something we're excited about !
the vibe is a cruise ship that boards in south korea and tours southeast asia with different ports and stops, introducing a new mini event to the roleplay every couple of weeks along with some prompts and games scattered in every few days as well. there will be staff options to choose from ( or bring your own ! ) so there are built in connections or you can be one of our guests in any of the mixed accommodation levels depending on your budget -- and of course nothing but the best for our vip clients !
and while we said we had a little extra time, we definitely do mean little. we would love to pick up an additional mod or two to help us with all our events and queuing ads as well.
this is all a wip so some of these elements might change when we're ready to officially open, but this is the gist !

Celebrity Cruises is Back in Australia!
Celebrity Cruises has just made a big comeback to one of the world’s most iconic harbours. Yes that’s right, Celebrity Edge has returned to Sydney for its second season of Australian cruising.
The 130,818 gross ton ship will homeport in the harbour city until April next year, taking in Aussie ports, the South Pacific and New Zealand.
youtube
Celebrity Edge is the first ship in the innovative Edge class of cruise ships, which also includes Celebrity Apex, Beyond, Ascent and from November next year, Xcel.
While Edge may be the smallest and oldest of the class, she packs in a lot of great amenities.
Having sailed aboard the ship last year as a guest of Celebrity Cruises I was impressed by the array of amenities, especially the ship’s innovative circular theatre, the rooftop garden compete with real plants, the ship’s stylised and vibrant martini bar and Eden – a glass clad multi-level entertainment venue and eatery with sweeping views over the stern of the ship… not to mention the Magic Carpet which was a truly unusual and unique experience.
The ship also introduced a large number of the infinite verandah cabins, which are as innovative as they are controversial. Love them or hate them, these cabins are a polarising but permanent feature of this unique class of ship.
Celebrity Edge’s return to Australia will see her offer 17 cruises taking in 26 ports with calls across Fiji, Samoa, American Samoa, Tonga and New Zealand.
Her smaller sister, the 121,878 gross ton Celebrity Solstice will also be making waves in Australia with visits in 2024 and 2025 as part of her Asia-pacific season.
Smaller than Edge, Solstice is also a class leader, being the first ship in the Solstice Class and entering service back in 2008.

The Rise and Fall of Empires
After an uneventful day of transit, we landed quite late in Turkiye and were rushed quickly to dinner before we pulled in at the hotel that we would be staying at in Istanbul: the Pullman. On the two hour flight from Cairo to Istanbul (for most of the day, we simply sat around the hotel before hopping onto the coach that would deliver us to the airport at 10AM), I managed to watch Bullet Train and tick off the chaotic but fun movie from my long list of films that had looked interesting but I hadn’t bothered to go into the cinemas to actually well...watch.
In any case, by the time I had showered and fallen asleep on the soft bed at the Pullman, it was quite late and we had an early start the next day.
Tumblr media
At about 6:35AM, I was rudely awoken by a morning wake-up call and served as a reminder that I was late! Popo and I came down for a hurried breakfast before boarding the coach that would take us around the ancient city of Istanbul, or Constantinople as it was previously known during the Byzantine and Ottoman eras.
We arrived at our first stop for the day: a decently sized marine vessel, just before 9AM. Hopping on, we enjoyed a cruise around the Bosphorus Strait, providing us with excellent views of the city of Istanbul. It should be known that the city straddles the bridge between Europe and Asia and has proven to be a pivotal beacon throughout most of history. It played a key role in Christianity before it fell to the Ottomans and became an Islamic stronghold.
As such, the history of Constantinople is really a history of the world, as well as a symbol of the West’s relationship with the East.
But back to a recount of my trip there!
It was unfortunate that we had arrived in the city in March. The weather was still quite cool and after a good thirty minutes, I felt quite frozen to my spot on the upper deck and quickly sought shelter from the fierce wind.
After our trip on the high seas, our ship pulled into port near the Dolmabahce Palace. In Chinese, the palace is often called the “New Palace” as it was built in and around the mid 1800s and was in use for approximately 70 years until the 1920s when Turkiye became independent.
The style of the Dolmabahce Palace, although commissioned by an Ottoman Sultan, was very European in design. However, this was soon explained by the fact that the architect for the palace had studied in France and had helped build similar types of buildings all across Europe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still, the decorations inside the palace was a lot different to the ones I’d seen before in France and Austria. A shame, really, that photos were not allowed as I could show you rather than be forced to describe what I saw. Even though there were a few other tourists that took quite a few ‘subtle’ photographs of the rooms and the grand ceremonial hall.
Most notable, at least to me, were the paintings that lined the walls. Most of them depicted famous battles the Turks partook in. Another interesting piece of interior design that caught my eye was the crystal staircase, with the crystal primarily being the supporting columns of the banister.
Down in the old storage cellars, too, the palace sported numerous displays full of utensils compromised of Bohemian and Baccarat crystals. They also had Mosser glass, which the internet tells me can cost thousands of dollars because of their high-quality construction. Another location in the heart of the palace had displays for medals, weapons and Hokka sets.
But it should be noted that the palace also had similar trappings as its European counterparts such as the gilded halls, lavish drapings, huge mirrors, as well as beautiful chandeliers. Which will serve as useful material for my future writings although I lack photos for reference.
After touring the Dolmabahce Palace, we had a quick lunch in a spot that was, no doubt, frequented for its water views and which served as a popular fishing spot.
With our stomachs full of grilled fish, we headed to the Grand Bazaar, established all the way back in 1481 according to the plaque out front. There, we roamed the shops and I exchanged some Australian and American dollars into Turkish lira. And though there was a leather jacket I dearly wanted to purchase, my funds, unfortunately, did not have enough stretch to allow me to buy it out right. Nor did I want to risk using my debit card for fear that the details would be stolen and used for nefarious purposes.
Good riddance, I say! I didn’t want it anyways...
Maybe...
Gosh, I do wish I had bought that reversible leather jacket!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once I had established how useless I was at haggling, we headed to the Blue Mosque, which sat opposite the Hagia Sophia. Due to ill luck, visiting on a Friday of all days, the Blue Mosque was closed by the time we arrived. It was also undergoing renovations. This fact angered one member of the tour group who was quite rude and aggressive to our tour guide for fear that we would miss out on all the key locations on the itinerary.
What he didn’t know, of course, was that the itinerary had already been rejigged when we had paid a visit to the Dolmabahce Palace earlier and we would have plenty of time upon our return to Istanbul to take a gander around a mosque if we so wished (which did happen, although it wasn’t the Blue Mosque!).
Undaunted by the trantrum thrown, the tour guide continued to tell us about the Roman Hippodrome that had been constructed in the heart of Istanbul and why the only signs of its presence was the obelisk that had been taken from Karnak Temple. Of course, we had already seen its twin when we visited Karnak Temple several days ago when we had given Egypt a whirl. Score one for a well-planned trip!
We then headed to the Hagia Sophia, which was initially built as a Church following the conversion of the Roman Empire to Christianity. The Hagia Sophia was later converted into a mosque when the Turks took the city. When Turkiye became independent, it served temporarily as a museum before being converted back into a mosque.
And to think that such a sight had been built in a mere 5 years!
True, a lot of the material, such as the Grecian columns used to support the roof, had been recycled from older buildings like a Temple to Artemis in the Ephesus region, but it still looked and felt like a marvel of engineering and vision.
The day ended with dinner at a doner kebab place before we headed back to our hotel for another long day ahead. Although, this time, we would mostly be on the road.

International cruise ships dock in Halong with 4700 passengers
Halong Bay Cruise - On November 12, at Ha Long International Passenger Port, two international super ships docked, bringing more than 4,700 tourists to Ha Long City.
Tumblr media
At 8:00, the Noordam ship (Dutch nationality) traveled from Hong Kong (China) to Singapore, bringing nearly 1,900 passengers to Ha Long. Then, at 10:00 on the same day, the cruise ship Celebrity Solstice (Malta nationality) docked with 2,806 passengers.
Most tourists come from Europe and America, and this is also the main group of tourists visiting Ha Long during the annual cruise season.
Immediately after arriving at the port, tourists divided into many groups to visit and explore the beauty of Ha Long Bay and other famous scenic spots in Ha Long City such as Long Tien Pagoda and Quang Ninh Museum. Others chose to travel to Yen Tu National Special Relic Site (Uong Bi City) and Yen Duc Village (Dong Trieu City).
Two super cruise ships took these tourists away from Ha Long the next day (November 13). According to the plan, the Celebrity Solstice will return to Ha Long 4 more times in 2024, expected to bring tens of thousands more tourists to Quang Ninh province.
It is expected that from now until the end of 2024, Ha Long International Passenger Port will welcome about 10 large cruise ships from world-famous corporations and brands such as: Mein Schiff 6, Celebrity Solstice, … bringing tens of thousands of international tourists to Quang Ninh.
Quang Ninh province is considered by international cruise lines to be a destination with great competitive advantages in the cruise tourism market share in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, thanks to its World Heritage - Natural Wonder of the World Halong Bay, unique experiences of culture and local cuisine.
In particular, Quang Ninh is currently the first and only locality in Vietnam with a specialized passenger port for tourism, capable of receiving many large-scale international ships at the same time.

As Trump prepares for mass deportations, Mexico is not ready (Washington Post) This week, Donald Trump appointed Tom Homan as “border czar” and Stephen Miller as deputy chief of staff, signaling a strong commitment to a hardline anti-immigration agenda. Few countries stand to be more affected than Mexico by what Trump has described as “the largest deportation in the history of our country.” Nearly half of the estimated 11 million people living illegally in the United States are Mexican, according to analysts. Deporting them is cheaper and easier than sending migrants back to more distant countries that are at odds with Washington, such as Venezuela. In Mexico, migrant advocates are alarmed at what’s coming. Sending millions of jobless Mexicans back to towns they left years ago could create chaos in areas already suffering from poverty and organized crime, they say. “Neither the shelters nor the border area nor Mexico are ready for this,” said Héctor Silva, a Protestant pastor who runs the Senda de Vida migrant shelter in Reynosa, across from McAllen, Texas.
Guns smuggled from the US are blamed for a surge in killings on more Caribbean islands (AP) Dozens of soldiers and police fanned out across a neighborhood on a recent night in the Turks & Caicos Islands just days after the archipelago reported a record 40 killings this year. They were on the hunt for criminals and illegal weapons fueling a surge of violence across the Caribbean as authorities struggle to control a stream of firearms smuggled in from the U.S. Illegal firearms are blamed for an increase or a record number of killings in a growing number of Caribbean islands this year, including Trinidad and Tobago and the Bahamas. In a letter sent to U.S. legislators in late September, New York’s attorney general and 13 other colleagues across the U.S. demanded new measures to stop the flow of guns, noting that 90% of weapons used in the Caribbean were bought in the U.S. and smuggled into the region.
In South America, the U.S. is already losing a trade battle with China (Reuters) In South American copper giant Peru, the incoming Donald Trump White House, opens new tab will find itself already on the losing side in a trade battle with China, part of a bigger power realignment around the resource-rich region in Washington’s backyard. Peru, the world’s no. 2 copper exporter, is set to host Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation leaders this week, with China’s President Xi Jinping expected to attend and inaugurate a major new Chinese-built port in the country. Outgoing U.S. President Joe Biden is also on the guest list. Peru reflects a wider challenge for the White House around South America, where China’s presence has grown rapidly given its huge appetite for the region’s main exports: corn, copper, soy, beef and battery-metal lithium. That’s made Beijing the go-to trade partner from Brazil to Chile and Argentina, eroding Washington’s regional political clout, a trend that widened under Trump’s ‘America First’ inward turn during his first administration and again under Biden. Peru demonstrates the dramatic shift. China’s trade lead there over the United States widened to $16.3 billion last year, UN Comtrade data show, a stark reversal of just a decade ago when Washington was the dominant player.
Russia launches first missile attack on Kyiv in months as North Korean troops fight Ukraine in Kursk (AP) Russia attacked the Ukrainian capital Kyiv with a sophisticated combination of missiles and drones for the first time in 73 days on Wednesday, authorities reported, as the Pentagon said most of the North Korean troops sent to help Moscow’s war effort are fighting to drive Ukraine’s army off Russian soil in the Kursk border region. Air raid warnings blared for hours as Russia targeted eight regions of Ukraine, firing six ballistic and cruise missiles and 90 drones, the Ukrainian air force said. The air assault came as most of the more than 10,000 North Korean troops sent by Pyongyang to help Moscow in the war are engaged in combat in Russia’s Kursk border region, according to the Pentagon. A Ukrainian army incursion into Kursk three months ago has succeeded in holding a broad area of land and has embarrassed the Kremlin.
India's top court bans 'bulldozer justice' as punishment (BBC) In a landmark ruling on Wednesday, India’s Supreme Court reinforced the principle of separation of powers by banning extrajudicial demolitions, commonly referred to as “bulldozer justice.” The ruling came after a series of demolitions targeting homes of individuals accused or convicted of crimes, primarily affecting minority Muslim communities. In a statement, the court emphasized that such practices violate the rule of law and issued strict guidelines requiring 15-day notice for demolitions and threatened contempt of court for non-compliance. Human rights groups, including Amnesty International, praised the decision, calling it a vital step in upholding citizens’ rights in India’s constitutional democracy.
China’s underground raves (AP) Crouch through the small metal door and walk down the dark tunnel, and even before you step into the abandoned air raid shelter, the air reverberates with pounding techno beats. Young Chinese holding booze and cigarettes shake and sway in a red-lit passageway, below a big screen rolling through quotations from Chairman Mao. This is an underground rave in China, part of a subculture growing in hidden corners of the nation’s cities, even as its political and cultural mainstream grow increasingly controlled, staid and predictable. For Chinese ravers, these gatherings—often called “ye di,” or “wild dances”—not only offer a rare space for unfettered fun, but signal resistance to the narrowly prescribed future a rigid society expects for them. Chinese young people face intense pressure and high expectations from the society around them. In recent years, facing bleak economic prospects, Chinese youth culture has been swept by a series of viral slang terms to describe frustration and hopelessness: “ 996 “—the brutal 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., six days a week work schedule many companies ask of employees. “Involution”—an endless treadmill of pointless competition that fresh graduates face. “ Lying flat “—the growing trend among young people of giving up all ambition and aiming to do as little as possible. Techno dance parties are an escape from all that.
Indonesia’s volcanic eruption grounds international flights on tourist island of Bali (AP) Several international airlines canceled flights to and from Indonesia’s tourist island of Bali on Wednesday as an ongoing volcanic eruption left travelers stranded at airports. Tourists told The Associated Press that they have been stuck at Bali’s airport since Tuesday after their flights were suddenly canceled. Media reports said that thousands of people were stranded at airports in Indonesia and Australia. Indonesia’s Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki volcano on the remote island of Flores in East Nusa Tenggara province spewed towering columns of hot ash high into the air since its initial huge eruption on Nov. 4 killed nine people and injured dozens of others.
Attack, Withdraw, Return: Israel’s Bloody Cycle of War in North Gaza (NYT) When Israeli forces first swarmed into Gaza last year, they targeted North Gaza, an area stretching across densely packed urban centers and small strawberry farms near the border with Israel. The military said that hardened Hamas fighters were hiding among the civilians there, so it struck residential neighborhoods, hospitals and schools turned shelters. It was one of the deadliest moments of the war. Now, almost exactly a year later, it is all happening again. In an effort to stamp out what the military has called a Hamas resurgence, troops, tanks and armed drones have hammered the area almost daily, displacing 100,000 residents and killing likely more than 1,000 others, according to the United Nations. There are so many corpses, multiple residents and a local doctor said, that stray dogs have begun to pick at them in the streets. “Life over the past four weeks, if I can sum it up, is a people being exterminated,” said Islam Ahmad, 34, a freelance journalist from North Gaza who described helping bury neighbors in a mass grave.
Health care workers in Gaza ask why the international community ignores their suffering (Salon) Just over a year ago, after a massive explosion in the parking area of Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza killed 471 people and wounded hundreds more, plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Ghassan Abu-Sittah, who was performing surgery at Al-Ahli when the roof fell in, gave an extraordinary press conference. Flanked by fellow health care workers in their scrubs and surrounded by white-shrouded dead bodies in the hospital courtyard, Abu-Sittah, a British-Palestinian volunteer in Gaza with Doctors Without Borders, described how people came to the hospital in search of safety. “This is a war crime that the world has seen coming,” he declared. “Israel has been warning the entire world that it was going to attack Palestinian hospitals, and it did exactly that.” While Israel has denied responsibility for that specific attack, whose origin is still debated, since then, Israeli forces have directly attacked hospitals and other health care facilities dozens and dozens of times. In a recently-released investigation that was presented to the United Nations General Assembly on Oct. 30, the U.N.-mandated independent Commission of Inquiry found that Israel has implemented a concerted policy to destroy the health care system in Gaza, and that it has committed the crime against humanity of “extermination.” While the evidence of Israel’s repeated and deliberate attacks on health care infrastructure has been presented to the world, many health care professionals and their patients have asked the international community why their calls for intervention are being ignored—and wonder where the solidarity is with health care workers in Gaza.
In Africa, meager expectations for a second Trump presidency (AP) African leaders may have been quick to congratulate Donald Trump on his election, professing a desire for mutually beneficial partnerships, but there are meager expectations that his presidency will change things for this continent of over 1.4 billion people. In the wake of Trump’s win, Kenya’s William Ruto said his country “stands ready” to deepen its ties with Washington. Nigeria’s Bola Tinubu spoke of a second Trump administration ushering in an era of “earnest, beneficial, and reciprocal” cooperation. Still, observers say African countries—once described by Trump as “shithole countries”—are definitely not going to be high on his to-do list. U.S. foreign policy has not made Africa a priority for a long while—beyond seeing the continent through the lens of countering rivals such as Russia and China, said Charles Ray, chair of the Foreign Policy Research Institute’s Africa Program. Africa “will be at the very bottom of (Trump’s) list of priorities,” Ray said.
Self-Pubbed (Publishers Weekly) A new analysis of ISBNs found that the number of self-published books increased by 7.2 percent from 2022 to 2023, reaching 2,637,367 titles that year. The number of traditionally published titles slipped by 3.6 percent, to 563,019 titles in 2023. Amazon reports that over the past 10 years, Kindle Direct Publishing authors have made $3.5 billion in royalties, of which $650 million came in the past 12 months.
The Leonid Meteor Shower (Lifehacker) The annual Leonid meteor shower peak is coming this weekend, and while it may not be the brightest and most spectacular meteor event of the year, it’s still worth seeking out. The 2024 Leonid shower has been active since Nov. 3 and is predicted to peak early on Nov. 18, with the best viewing late on Nov. 17 into the early hours of November 18 (and possibly the morning of Nov. 17 as well). While the meteors radiate from a point near the constellation Leo, they’ll likely appear in all parts of the night sky. In ideal conditions, the Leonids produce 10–15 meteors per hour. Unfortunately, the shower won’t be as visible this year thanks to a waning gibbous moon. If you’re headed out to find the Leonids, bring everything you need to get comfy and stay cozy for a while—you could be rewarded for your effort.

Complete Guide to a Kolkata to Andaman & Nicobar Islands Tour
Tumblr media
Introduction:
The Andaman and Nicobar Island is full of rain forests and stunning beaches that accommodate unique sea creatures. This is only a flight a way for travelers originating from Kolkata which makes it an excellent choice for those seeking an exotic getaway trip. This ultimate guide includes recommendation on how to choose the rightющее tour, best places, plans, and the best time to travel from Kolkata to Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
How to Travel from Kolkata to Andaman & Nicobar
By Air:
The most convenient option for travelers to get from Kolkata to the Andaman Islands is by plane. The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata and the Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair do, however, have regular flights. The most popular airlines on this route are Indigo, Air India, and Spice Jet. The flight lasts approximately two to three hours. It is advisable to make reservations as early as possible because, like all travel expenses, fares are likely to increase during holidays and festive seasons.
By Sea:
Travelers who choose an adventurous trip might take a passenger ship from Kolkata to Port Blair. It takes roughly three to four days for these Shipping Corporation of India ships to arrive in the Andaman Islands. A lot of preparation is necessary because they are only operated once a month, which is not very common. Because the ships are not large, opulent cruise ships and offer few facilities and services, be prepared for a bumpy trip.
Best Time to Visit the Andaman & Nicobar Islands
The Andaman Islands have a tropical climate, making it ideal to visit between October and May. During these months, the weather is pleasant with moderate temperatures, calm seas, and minimal rainfall—perfect for sightseeing, beach outings, and water activities. Monsoon season (June to September) brings heavy rains, which may disrupt travel plans and limit accessibility to some islands, so it’s best to avoid this time.

What are the top Tropical Destinations to Heat up your Holidays?
Tropical destinations are on the priority list of the tourists from the cold regions. They preferably choose the hot and amazing climate of the tropical region to enjoy the sun even when it’s winter instead of shivering in the frosted climate where they stay. For instance, if you are from Canada or London, you would like to book a packaged tour including the tickets for the first class flights to Thailand, Bali, Bangkok, and even the much-loved Caribbean.
Smart tourists never miss the opportunities offered by reputed OTAs as the Business Flight Shop does on flight tickets to hotel bookings, sightseeing tours, local activities, rental car bookings, and so on. Explore the OTA to find the options for custom-designing a packaged tour including your return tickets for a first class flight to New York, London, New Delhi, or wherever you are from, for a hassle-free vacation.
Take a look at the top tropical destinations you can choose for your next spiced-up vacation—
The Caribbean Islands
You can have a great vacation in the Caribbean during the winter season. Talk to your agency to create a perfect vacation package including the tickets for the best flights to Caribbean from UK or anywhere you are from.
The islands are facilitated with luxury resorts, and hotels, with great food and spa. Enjoy your holidays at the sprawling beaches, pristine waters and with lots of fun-filled water activities. Kayaking, boating, sailing, swimming, scuba diving, and windsurfing are some of the greatest activities in these islands. If you want to experience cruising in then that’s also a great idea. The off-season deals can be a great option for cruising. Often the Royal Caribbean Cruise liners offer great deals.
Also, enjoy the drinks made of exotic fruits and spirits in these tropical countries along with the scrumptious spicy food they cook in Trinidad or the Bahamas wherever you choose to visit.
Bali
The Indonesian capital is considered one of the best tropical islands in Asia. Bali is famous among honeymooners for its lovely cottages and plush resorts. The couples love to spend hours by the white sandy beaches. Besides, living in the cottages by the seaside is a rare experience and perhaps a memory of the lifetime. The spas on this oriental island are excellent. From the aromatherapy messages to the volcano stone messages, these health spas are great to have rejuvenation.
Dubai
Are you wondering about an Arabic fiesta? Then you must not be disappointed by taking one of the best first class flights to Dubai such as Qatar Airways, Lufthansa, Ethiad, and so on. Despite using the royalty pointers, you can also grab exciting deals on your next flight to Dubai or Abu Dhabi- the most accomplished of all the Emirates. Though Dubai will not give you the tropical climate as they experience a humid climate, you can enjoy warm weather along with the spectacular seaside of the Mediterranean washing the shores of the Sahara desert.
Mediterranean Cruising Experience
The top Mediterranean cruise liners rest in chief ports like Rome, Spain, Tunis, Barcelona, Egypt, Greece, South Africa, and so on. The most important harbours are Valetta and Monte Carlo. You will get a chance to roam around different tropical islands when the ship will anchor in certain harbours. Despite that, the guests are also served with great cuisine in these super plush ships. You will also get a chance to see many places while you are cruising on the Mediterranean.
People mostly living in the chilling weather choose to explore the tropical sunny climate because of which they buy tour packages of Thailand, Bali, the Caribbean and various destinations in the UAE for a perfect vacation.

All about Carnival Adventure & Carnival Encounter
youtube
Carnival Cruise Line is welcoming two additional ships to the fleet in 2025, but unlike nearly every new Carnival ship of recent times, the next two additions are older ships, dating back to the turn of the 21st century!
Both these ships have been sailing for P&O Cruises, a role they’ve had since the end of the COVID pandemic shutdown in 2022.
With P&O Cruises in Australia shutting down in March 2025, these two 109,000 gross ton cruise ships will transfer across to the Carnival brand, where they will be among the oldest ships to wear the Carnival colours.
In fact, both ships were originally designed and built for Princess Cruises before Princess had even been absorbed into Carnival Corporation.
Tumblr media
Above: Golden Princess cabin.
Princess Cruises Origins:
Both members of the Grand class and built at Fincantieri, Carnival Adventure was the first to enter service. She was ordered in 1998 and entered service for Princess in 2001 where she sailed under the name Golden Princess.
Her sistership, Carnival Encounter, entered service in 2002, and was named Star Princess. The two ships were some of the biggest ships in the world at the time, and feature many design traits that made Princess famous.
This includes the large and spacious atrium, with nearby dining, entertainment venues and lounges, as well as multiple swimming pools, ample top-deck space and an elevated nightclub at the stern that gives them a very unusual appearance.
Tumblr media
Above: Golden Princess deck scene.
As Star Princess, Carnival Encounter was well known in the Californian market, as the ship pioneered big-ship cruising for Princess out of port of Los Angeles.
Too wide to fit through the original locks of the Panama Canal, the ship made the journey to America’s west coast by cruising east from Italy, taking in an Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean transit along the way.
As Golden Princess, Carnival Adventure undertook several long duration voyages, including a world cruise that included calls in Australia and throughout Asia.
P&O Australia:
Both ships were sailing with Princess in 2020, though by this stage had been flagged for transfer to P&O Cruises. Their large size meant they could replace the capacity of Pacific Dawn, Pacific Eden, Pacific Aria and Pacific Jewel.
The COVID pandemic interrupted these plans, with both Golden Princess and Star Princess laid up in 2020. During the global cruise shutdown, Golden Princess and Star Princess were removed from the Princess fleet and transferred to P&O Australia. They were Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter respectively.
Both ships were given refits before returning to service, to Australianise the interior and align the ships with the updated P&O Australia style introduced aboard the retiring Pacific Dawn and Pacific Aria as well as her sister ship Pacific Eden.
This included the addition of specialty restaurants Angelos (Italian), Dragon Lady (Asian Cuisine) and the Waterfront (P&O’s main dining room).
The P&O Edge adventure experience was also added, while Pacific Adventure had her funnel cut down, to allow her to pass under the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge – this is actually a handy way to tell the difference between the two ships!
Pacific Encounter entered Australian service in August 2022 after a triumphant arrival in Sydney. She was only the 2nd cruise ship after the smaller Pacific Explorer to return to Australia. Pacific Encounter later repositioned to Brisbane where she has homeported since.
Pacific Adventure arrived in the Sydney market in October 2022.
Tumblr media
Carnival Cruise Line:
In 2023, both ships hosted special celebrations, to commemorate P&O’s 90th anniversary of Australian cruising. Politicians, media and special guests were invited aboard Pacific Aventure in Brisbane and Pacific Encounter in Sydney.
Yet despite the celebratory year, things would change dramatically in 2024 when Carnival Corporation announced P&O Australia was closing in 2025.
Ultimately these two popular ships will remain in the Australian market, transferring ton Carnival Cruise Line in March 2025 as Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter.
This will make them among the oldest ships to cruise for Carnival, though they are still several years younger than Carnival’s Sunshine, Elation, Paradise and Sunrise.
They will be unique among the Carnival fleet, as the Grand class was designed by Princess Cruises well before Carnival merged with P&O-Princess, which owned Princess Cruises at the time of the merger in 2003.
As such, there is little similarity in the internal design, layout or décor of these ships when compared to the rest of the Carnival fleet.
But their Australianising for P&O Cruises was highly successful, and I’d argue that both ships present better in their current internal décor than they did as Princess ships.
Tumblr media
P&O’s addition of vibrant carpeting, blue tones to the accommodation and corridors have really helped break up the beige interior Princess is often associated with.
In addition, the P&O specialty restaurants are fantastic, with Dragon Lady especially among the best cruise ship restaurants I’ve ever tried – though whether these dining venues will be retained under the Carnival brand is yet to be seen.
While maintaining a unique Australian feel, in their new role, both ships are expected to receive Carnival branding… though I highly doubt they will receive a whale tail funnel. Rather expect to see Carnival colours painted on the existing funnel structure similar to the Carnival Luminosa.
