How is your country perceived by the outside world?
Hihi! Windenburg is well-liked now because of King Edward II and his father. My current monarch grandfather, King Edward I, was very uninterested in politics/ruling the country; he started many conflicts with neighboring countries and cared more about partying/wasting money which made him very unpopular everywhere. His behavior and actions then became synonymous with Windenburg and so people stopped travelling there and companies didn’t want to invest either. Edward II improved the international relations by taking an active role in the Coalition which slowly improved the perception of outsiders.

How is your country perceived by the outside world?
So I can’t speak to countries controlled by other simblrs but on my little continent/island, Trenton has been scene as a powerhouse, a place where the citizens thrive and the government is there to support the people. Over the past 2-3 decades, that perception has been starting to slip. Some of the other countries feel that Trenton is falling behind the curve and that they’ve made a few questionable choices (cough cough the betrothal). I wouldn’t say they are perceived badly but they are getting quite a bit of side eye.

Do you have any worldbuilding details you have developed but may not be important enough to highlight within the story or give its own post but you'd love to share anyway?
Hi,
Thanks for the ask and sorry for taking ages to respond!
The only thing I can think of at this moment is the comparison between the landscape of Saliceau and Warborough
I’ve mentioned in passing that Saliceau has a lot of nature and forestry and parks so walking and hiking is pretty common. But they don’t have a lot of gardens and flowers which is what Warborough is more known for

When, if at all, are children expected to leave home in your setting?
In Francesim, you have to be 18 to be considered an adult. It's usually at this age that "children" can leave home as soon as possible!
For the imperial family, you had to be married to obtain more concrete freedom.
Thanks for asking!

How is food produced and distributed in you world?
Hihihi and thank you for the ask @crownsofesha!
I would say it depends on the region, but I'll focus on the main three countries I have shown in my story.
Windenburg I picture as an agricultural place focused on growing wheat, barley, oats, potatoes, and different fruits and vegetables that has its harvest season between September and October. They also raise livestock such as cattle and sheep (This place is very inspired by England). The food distribution is overseen by the monarch and the prime minister and distributed to grocery stores that sell the produce.
Shaadval produces wheat, rice, and several dry fruits. Their livestock is mainly cattle and they're the biggest producers of milk, but they also have a big industry for fish. Here the food distribution is overseen by the monarch alone and the sold in grocery stores as well as local markets.
Brindleton is very similar to Windenburg, agriculturally speaking; they produce similar crops but also grow a more varied selection of fruits and vegetables. Their main livestock is cattle. The distribution is overseen by the prime minister and approved by the monarch and then sold in grocery stores.
All these countries have a free trade agreement between them because they're members of the Alliance Council, which helps with the exporting and importing of goods. This includes foods, raw materials, machinery, etc.
I really enjoyed this ask, I honestly never considered this before😅, so thank you for helping me expand on my world-building! Also, sorry for any grammar errors because English is not my first language but hopefully everything makes sense lol

Truth or Dare? Based on what you say I will send you another ask. Answer with truth to get a random question related to your story/characters or answer dare to get a task to do with your sims (I.e. change their look, age, etc). (Also thank you for this idea, idk if you created these specific rules, but it is very fun)
You’re welcome! It’s been something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile, I’m glad it went well. 😊
I’ll go with dare!

How is your country perceived by the outside world?
Hiya!
Thanks for the ask!
This is a great questions. I like to think the outside world views them as straight-laced and traditional. Others still believe Saliceau is quite unstable given the political changes that have happened but know they’re on the path to stability.
I also got a second opinion:
Trenton views Saliceau positively and there is no bad blood between them. Although they find some of the Salician practices odd particularly males being excluded from the line of succession although they are not willing to comment on this publicly
Pierreland views Saliceau as a friendly ally with a strong monarch as of now however, they are concerned about what the future holds for the country since they don't see the heir and her husband a lot on public engagements so they can't tell if the heir would maintain the strength of the nation when it comes her time to rule
Thanks for the ask!

How is your country perceived by the outside world?
Thank you for your ask, Esha! I'll try not to go into too much detail on the subject.
For cultural stereotypes, they are the same as in France today irl.
Francesim's empire is a member of the European Union. It's rather distrusted by Europesim and the rest of the world. It's a big nuclear power, so it can break a few agreements without being thrown out of alliances. Moreover, the empire has a rather muscular policy (police, surveillance of the population, censorship…) and has revived the state religion, which means an important setback for human rights.
But the empire is a loyal and powerful supporter, which is ready to do anything to defend the interests of its allies on international grounds. Francesim always attracts a lot of tourists, especially to its capital Paris. It's one of its biggest sources of income. It has a great affinity with other royal countries. For the time being, the Emperor prefers to pay large fines to continue his policies, rather than return to more rights in order to stabilise his rule.
There will certainly be improvements in the law with time or the successor of Napoléon IV. This should give the empire a better international image

Which of your characters do you find boring?
Hello again!
And thank you for the ask!
I don’t think I find any of my characters boring actually. My characters may find each other boring, like I think Bella would think Queen Francesca is boring because she doesn’t have any hobbies and doesn’t know how to have fun, but I don’t find any of them boring.

How, if at all, is food used as decoration in your world?
Hi!
Thanks for the ask!
That’s a really interesting question.
I think for big events and banquets and such, fruit arrangements are always a big thing on the dessert plate.
And also huge centrepiece meals like suckled pigs and such.
I can imagine what that would look like in game 🤔

Which of your characters do you find boring?
Bonjour!
Personally, it's more certain places/lots that are a bit repetitive that bother me rather than the characters! I don't think I'll find any character annoying. After some can have a "boring" personality, like the character of Hortense typically, but which little by little gains in depth.
Thanks for asking!

How is food produced and distributed in you world?
Hi!
This is a very specific question so I’ll try and give as much detail as I have 😂
One of the biggest regions in Saliceau for agriculture is Matinuax. It’s primarily for animal husbandry and animal farming. Because of the decent amount of rain they get, there’s a good deal of fruit and veg farming done in Saliceau as well.
Warborough (a neighbouring nation) is very wet (think British climate) so Saliceau is able to import a lot of produce from them and export what they themselves cannot grow well because of the climate.
I can’t say much on the industrial bit regarding distribution but I will say local independent grocers and farmers’ markets are just as popular as big supermarkets.
Thanks for the ask!

Does your world have any superstitions? And how do your characters react to it?
Hiya!
This is a great question! Saliceau isn’t very superstitious actually. These are just two of the things they believe:
1. Any member of the royal family named Adele will be born with a “curse”. This is because Queen Adele I was the most hated female monarch in Saliceau history so it’s believed anyone names after her will follow her fate. The royal family won’t admit to believing this, but no one has named their child Adele since Adele II. That says a lot 👀
2. There is also a huge gender prejudice against male monarchs in Saliceau which is in part why Raphael was excluded from the line of succession because the successes of male monarchs in Saliceau are publicly believed to pale in comparison to females. So of Saliceau has a King, the public believe the nation’s progress would flatline
Apart from these, Salicians aren’t very superstitious.
Thanks for the ask!

What language does your country speak, and are there other languages in your world that your characters interact with?
Hi friend!
The main languages spoken in Saliceau are English and French. In some other less central regions of Saliceau Italian is the secondary language. And in an ever smaller region, Spanish is the secondary language.
My characters interact mainly in English with French words occasionally throw in. But I like to think when my characters get angry they yell in French.
Thanks for the ask! ❤️
