Happy National Boss's Day to my amazing co-owner @zac_stuckey!!! He literally is the spinal cord of our business and there's no way that place would keep the lights on without him. Literally. My new @thegivingkeys necklace I had custom made with the word "SPEAK". I've always been a little more of a "little less conversation, little more action" hard-working go-getter honestly on the introverted side.. After the devastating and sudden passing of Leslie Sisti @ablondeambition, I remembered the last time she was in Crown was a super busy day and I didn't "have time" to stop and chat or honestly even know she was in. I let it beat myself up for 1/2 a day then decided it was best to grow from it in her memory. She was always someone who made me and others feel special so as I reflected and prayed over it, God brought this word to me. SPEAK. Words have such power. They can give life or defeat, encouragement or hurt. I'm gonna slow down a little more and make an effort to speak to people even when I don't feel the energy or like I have the time. It's 2 days after @crownbeautybar 2nd birthday and I'm finally able to actually sit, listen and reflect. Zac shared 1 Peter 5:2-5 with me and it was exactly what The Lord wanted me to read. He has to remind me frequently it's all about people.. Sometimes owning a business and leading 17 people feels too overwhelming, too hard and exhausting. Then I realize it's because I'm trying to do it in my own power instead of leaning on God. This business is a gift and I pray I can be a good steward of it... To give grace when needed and stand firm in principle, to have humility in admitting my mistakes and then wisdom to learn from them.
