crowley had the name crawley for 4000 years . i very much enjoy the idea that it took him those 4000 years to digest what the fall did to him ; to his essence , to his understanding of the world around him , and to his faith in god and her great plan . and it’s nice to think that by 33 AD he finally felt he had enough control over himself and his narrative, despite the ineffable nature of Everything and the Universe, to change his name to something he personally liked

#good omens #crowley #good omens 2 #bc it’s all well and good to say you’re on your own side . that you’re only following hell as far as YOU want to #but crowley is so self-conscious and worried in the job minisode . and so very lonely #he’s experienced enough to know that everything is bullshit and it’s everyone for themselves . but that doesn’t mean he still isn’t trapped #in some invisible box #and when it comes to matters of personal agency too . that’s a whole different can of worms #so it’s very affirming to connect the dots and see someone who has found that agency #that was once flickering and unsure #crowley is so fucking trans coded it’s insane .#jay rambles
