The first time Tobio had hugged him from behind like this, Tooru’s body had jolted from the contact. It was unfamiliar, new, their relationship only just budding at the time---but never unwanted. Now, he all but melts into the embrace, his back pressing further into Tobio’s chest. He feels warm and secure here. Tooru doesn’t answer right away. His brain lags a little at the way Tobio calls out his name like that. With such care, such adoration. He snaps out of it from the soft kiss to his cheek, and Tooru turns---only to be left awestruck by that beautiful smile. He’s finding so many things to adore about his Tobio today.

In one fluid motion, Tooru leans in to kiss those smiling lips. “Mhmm~ only if they’ll turn out as sweet as you~ ♡”

“K-kageyama -?” Yamaguchi blinked at his classmate's gesture. Sure, he was a bit cold, having tripped the wrong jacked this morning running out in a hurry. But it would be fine, just ignore his red cheeks and nose from the cold.

“I-I’m sure I would get warm while practicing” to an extent anyway.

🤔 for a nonsensical text (( nagisa

the key to recruitment is anticipation. of this, nagisa is certain. sure, they have never studied marketing or publicity or done any relevant research - but there are some things in life that just seem to stand true.

one of those things ? all pitches need a hook.

granted they’ve only met kageyama once in passing, but . . . kageyama seems like a good match for the team: in need of some solid teamwork, fit, powerful. there is sheer potential there, there is no room for doubt in nagisa’s overfull heart.

so first unfortunately, nagisa will admit to watching kageyama from afar. subtly & stealthily. they don’t live in the same neighborhood or anything, but their commutes to school seem to overlap. sometimes nagisa catches sight of kageyama a couple hundred meters away from them as they walk at their own speeds to the school building.

but secondly ( & less creepily . . . though nagisa is still happy to imagine themselves as the prideful protagonist of some spy movie. subtlety & stealth ! ), nagisa knew someone whose friend of a friend was on a prior team with kageyama . . .

which all goes to say that nagisa now has kageyama’s number.  though, kageyama maybe has no reason to know who nagisa is ? they had met once. or twice. maybe.

anticipation is key to recruitment. be enthralling, nagisa.

The Sunshine Heroine is shaking as she presses her back against the wooden cabin. Next to her is Kageyama. The night had crept up and left her unable to use her quirk. She couldn't get to her full suit either; all she had was her blaster and a singular solar pannel along her body. She stepped closer to her friend, biting her lip gently, "I'm no help to you in this state. I don't have anyway... To help. I'm an okay fighter, but we have to get out of here safely. We're being attacked." It’s Kageyama’s next words that startle her, Hikaru’s eyes lifted and then she smiled. It’s bright, blindingly so. “Thank you, Kageyama-kun...” She could see the blue flames in the distance. "Let's head to the forest! We might be able to meet up with the others."

Kita raised his head and pulled one of his earphones out of his ear as he looked up from his spot on the floor. Kageyama was already tall but from down here he looked even taller. “Oh--Kageyama-kun. Yeah, sure. I’ll try them, thanks,” he said very casually in his kansai dialect, motioning for Kageyama to take a seat beside him if he so pleased. Somehow Kita had grown fond of his Karasuno underclassman ever since an encounter* they had and felt the need to look out for him, make sure he was doing okay.

Leaning his head against his partner’s shoulder, Tooru’s all cozied up on the couch next to their life-sized teddy bear, ready to watch the recorded volleyball match together.

Once the game begins, fond brown eyes immediately find Tobio in the lineup, and they curve at the corners whenever the camera catches a clear shot of Tobio’s tosses. Ahh. It’s beautiful. Since their middle school days, Tooru never gets tired of seeing those beautiful sets by those talented hands. He’s enraptured by them. And he can feel one of those talented hands ruffling through his hair now. He nearly keens. “Oi, you know how long it takes for me to do my hair.” He softly grumbles out instead, but makes no move to push Tobio’s hand away.

Tooru merely leans in closer, anchoring his head in a way to offer himself up for more petting. Don’t stop.

@crowconquer​ incoming  :  with bright eyes && hopeful smile, kageyama approaches nishinoya. he holds one of the many volleyballs the team brought for this beach trip. ocean waves ripple in the background. " do you wanna play ?? "

yuu sits up, rubbing his eyes. he dusts some sand off his forearms knowing damn well there’s more sticking to...well everything. was it truly a beach trip if you didn’t go home with pockets of sand? eyes adjust to the midday sun and the clear coast comes into focus. a long yawn falls from his lips as he stretches out his arms. beach nap recharge !!

he stretches out his legs and pops the cap to his sunscreen. it darkens above him and his brows knit together. clouds?? yuu tilts his head up to find kageyama blocking the sun. he laughs seeing the volleyball. you could take the boys off the court and they’d still find ways to play volleyball. he hops to his feet with a wide smile.  ❝    let’s do it! have you ever played in the sand before?    ❞  he flashes a smirk to the younger.

. . . granted, he’s lying. kind of. more accurately, he’s exaggerating — yaku said no such thing, though lev believes firmly that he deserves to earn that ‘ passing grade. ‘ he’s worked hard, & so . . . he’s delivering the passing grade unto himself.

it doesn’t even occur to lev to question if karasuno’s setter knew yaku by name . . . or if the setter knew lev’s name even —- that was never the question, as far as lev was concerned.

‘ you’ve been practicing in here alone a lot, ‘ he observes . . . & bends to retrieve a ball that has floated towards the boundaries of the court.  

‘ or semi-alone. what’s the reasoning in that ?   teamwork decides everything, i hear, with nekoma, it’s true. so why practice alone ?  ‘

She tugged her coat closer shivering slightly. It's a cold snap, the first one in a while. "What about you?! Do you have plans to be anything? I was thinking of being a cat or something cute like that. As long as it's easy to take off and move in when I go to volleyball afterward." She shrugged, looking at the flyer, "My class has a haunted house this year, what about your class?"
