Are you named after anyone?

No, but I’m often asked if I’m named after a location in a famous movie. I was not.

When was the last time you cried?

Two days ago. I’ve been struggling with an ulcer that just won’t heal and I woke up in horrendous pain and nausea on Saturday morning.

Do you have kids?

We do not. There’s a 25% chance of passing on my connective tissue disorder and sometimes it’s the fun “I’m so great at gymnastics!” kind and sometimes it’s the less fun “my brain won’t stay in my head” kind. I don’t want to put a child through all that.

What sports do you play/have you played?

I was a ballerina, gymnast, and soccer player until the injuries started becoming too frequent.

Do you use sarcasm?

Very rarely and even then only with people I’m very comfortable with (most notably my partner and my sister).

What’s the first thing you notice about people?

I’m not sure if there’s one thing I always notice. I’m pretty quick to pick up on moods, even with total strangers. So probably that. Their vibes 🙃

What’s your eye color?

Brown

Scary movies or happy endings comedies?

I used to love scary movies but I’ve noticed that as I age I have lower and lower tolerances for things like gore and screaming (especially screaming). I much prefer a comedy these days. Or a low stakes drama.

Any talents?

I had to ask my partner because I’m not good at these kinda questions. He said “interior design…like arranging stuff, and baking, and storytelling.”

Literally like 2 miles away

What are your hobbies?

Video games, writing, baking, rearranging furniture in the middle of the night, reading, bird watching, crocheting, web design, quilting (I’m awful at this one but I enjoy it nonetheless)

i *was* going to be named after someone, but i don't really remember whom. the names my mom had chosen ended up being too similar to some of my cousins, so in the end i was named something else.

my normie name is gabriel, so i'm technically named after a biblical angel lol

several times yesterday over: my family; epic the musical; the game sea of stars

3. kids?

the idea is wonderful given how much i miss my daughter, but realistically i'm aware i wouldn't enjoy pregnancy in the slightest, and i'm not in a place to be able to raise a child without fucking them up.

my partner and i haven't talked about children, so i don't know what their stance on having them would be (though i'm pretty sure they wouldn't want to get pregnant either, which is fine by me) so that'll be an ongoing conversation should our feelings change

4. sports?

never played a sport long enough to care for it. i used to run and i biked way more than i do now, and i was rowing for a while too, but none of it *really* stuck

5. sarcasm?

i try not to be sarcastic because i'm unsure how my tone comes across from being autistic. i don't like sounding or being mean. i'll only be sarcastic if i can make it abundantly clear that i'm being sarcastic haha

6. first thing i notice about something?

is this meant to say "someone"? because if it is, then, in person, i usually notice people's body language. i like figuring out what makes people comfortable and tear down a wall or two

online, i notice how people talk and how they express their excitement. i am not very well-educated in the slightest but i love language and how people use it so much!!!

are you named after anyone? Yes. I am named after a character in movie, but not because my parents liked either the character or the actress (they hated both). I'm named after this character because they wanted to be like her parents. Needless to say, I am not fond of my name.

when was the last time you cried?: genuinely don't remember, but it was probably either a) writing because sometimes I get overwhelmed by character's emotions or b) something reminded me fiercely of my late father and I just lost it for a minute.

do you have kids?:  Not unless you count dogs. I have two shelter pups.

do you use sarcasm a lot?: Mostly when asked to do something very simple. I will sarcastically refuse whilst doing the thing.

what’s the first thing you notice about people?: Vibes. I have a very vibes-based nervous system (thanks trauma).

what’s your eye colour?: This is complicated. I have central heterochromia, which means my eyes are two different colors within the same iris. So brown on the inside, mossy green on the outside, but you can't tell unless you get close so I say hazel even though it's not technically correct.

scary movies or happy endings?: Scary movies. I typically fall asleep with one on. After you've seen it a hundred times, even the sounds of screaming can become their own kind of comforting because it's always the same.

any special talents?: I don't know what to put here. I have a lot of hobbies, but I'm not sure I'd say I'm particularly talented at any of them. I can tie a cherry stem into a knot inside my mouth? Does that count as a talent?

where were you born?: The United States.

what are your hobbies?: Oh geez, uh. Sewing, cosplay, writing, baking, drawing, reading, singing, playing the ukulele, video games, DnD and other tabletop games, mead making, crocheting, gardening, painting, ... I think that's it. But I'm thinking of picking up book binding and tambour embroidery for elf reasons.

have any pets?: see above answer about kids. 

what sports do you play/have played?: Played basketball for years, not because I was good, but because I was tall for my age, but I stopped once the other kids caught up in height. I really loved track in Middle School, and I was a pretty strong sprinter, but I gave it up in HS to focus on my schoolwork.

how tall are you?: Five foot seven. I'm actually the shortest of all my cousins, lol.

favourite subject in school?: It changed a lot depending on my interest in what we were learning about. I have an abiding love of science and history. I'm also partial to poetry, despite being beyond awful at making it.

dream job?: living in the Star Trek future with a universal basic income, lol. People in Star Trek just do what they want to do for work and it all seems to work out fine.

It's so good to know that!!! OMG that's so exciting!!! I love making bracelets. I've been reusing some beads from old necklaces that I don't use anymore and some others that I got recently and it's so fun! I'm also going to maybe try making a mix of crochet and bead bracelets for my eras show next year. Sadly, my town won't get the eras movie, but I don't think I want to see it before the actual concert. But, I'm so excited for you all going and sharing these moments again!!!! 🤍🤍🤍

I kinda did back then!!!! It was a great time!!! And then speak now was out and that made everything even worse. I was so in love with it!!! oh 100%, I am a bracelet making fiend! I do pretty basic ones to be fair, but I also work full-time so it's not as easy for me to do more intricate ones; although I LOVE seeing how creative people are with their bracelets (shoutout to my favs @hollyfhumberstone and @dancingwiththecoven bc they make GORGEOUS bracelets and I am forever in awe of coco's and jens talent!!!). OMG PLEASE MAKE CROCHET AND BEAD BRACELETS THAT'S SO CUTE!! I'm sorry that the movie isn't coming to your town, that's no fun, but I'm glad you get to go to the actual show next year (that's so exciting!)! Omg yessssssss, I love getting to support small businesses and especially small swiftie businesses, it's always my fav thing to do! Oh I feel that! I live in a big-ish city, but it's in the middle of nowhere and it takes almost 2 hours to get to the closest big city with things like target or even most chain restaurants like Panda Express or sit down ones like Olive Garden.

The OG Speak Now era was something else! I remember when it came out and being absolutely obsessed with haunted bc I was in a twilight phase and I firmly believed that haunted should've been on the soundtrack somewhere! Long Live is my fav from Speak Now (og and tv) but a lot of that has to do with the memories I have associated with it! Okay but I love that you drew the 13 on your hand for good luck, that's so precious!!

It's 100% Taylor's songwriting that makes it so clearly Taylor. Really and truly, it's amazing to see how she's consistent with her writing from debut to midnights considering how much she's grown as a songwriter and musician over the years. I firmly believe that her music holds up throughout the years and will continue to do so, especially with the re-recordings! Oh I am, I love getting to relive those eras again, especially because they were so important to me during the OG eras. I'm very lucky to have my brothers! We're all very close and I wouldn't trade them for the world (I'm the middle child lol)!!

Her name is Kayla! She's an 11 year old Labrador Retriver mix that I adopted last year and I love her so so much! Winnie is my baby but Kayla is my sweet old lady. They get along for the most part except Kayla is a garbage disposal and will eat anything, including Winnie's food (which makes Winnie angry because she's particular about her food lol).

I recommend them a lot! I'm always looking for new things to watch or listen to, I love broadening my tastes!

1. Are you named after anyone? Well I did take my name from the greek goddess Athena, so yeah. Kind of. 2. When was the last time you cried? oh like two days ago from I guess sensory overloud and physical icks. 3. Do you have kids? No, but I do plan on having some eventually! 4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Too much sometimes, I think. I do love me some sarcastic banter and I have been called iconic for my one liners, so luckily people know not to take my quips personally xD 5. What's the first thing you notice about people? Their style and aesthetic, probably. Also whether they are looking at me! It's also awful that people perceive me as being very unathletic, not sporty, because that's actually not true, I love doing sports! However, I feel like no one believes me because in school. I used to always complain about PE and stuff, because I was being discriminated against for being disabled, which made me miserable looking at sports, so all my friends who witnessed that and also later on me struggling with moving caused everyone to adapt the mindset that I cannot do sports, will not do sports and hate sports, which hurts on a personal level actually. Yeah, sports is a complicated topic with me. 13. How tall are you? Like 5'1. Yeah it's small and I will not grow anymore. But I actually don't really mind. Convention Experience

I had never been to a convention before or been interested in going, but when I heard one was somewhat required for this class, I knew I had to attend one. Luckily for me, my brother is a big anime fan and had planned to attend one this summer. The unfortunate part was the convention was hosted in Miami beach. I had to drive 5 hours down to Miami and stay with my parents until the day of the convention which was July 14th. On the bright side, I got to visit my family on my trip.

The day of the convention, I woke up around 6 am because my brother wanted to be there extra early, but it was not set to start until 9am. The convention was about 40 minutes away from me, but I assumed there would be traffic like there always is in Miami. As suspected, I was right and we hit some traffic but it was not as bad since we left so early. When we arrived, the doors had still not opened so we had to wait in a line, but it was not long due to our early arrival. Walking down to the back of the line, everywhere you looked you saw people cosplaying their favorite characters. My brother and I did not participate in cosplay, but it was cool to see all the different characters and how realistic people get. This was their way of expressing themselves through creative costumes.

Once we entered the building, it was like a huge room of people that have similar interests to you. Thinking back on it now, it was surreal to think how events like these bring so many people together to bond over anime. It is like you probably would have never met any of the people in here if it weren’t for the convention.

The setup of the convention was similar to how it was displayed in the anime “Genshiken”. There were booths set up all around that each sold different merchandise, comics, figures, foreign food, etc. Toward the back of the convention, there was a section called Artist Alley. Found here were original artists who were displaying and promoting their work. Often times, they draw their favorite characters or their own custom characters. It was not only like the average anime artwork you think of. They also sold tapestries, black pen art, digital art, crochet, hand painting; it was really any tape of art you could think of and more. It was really inspiring to see how creative and skillful people are. I just looked around in awe of the pure talent I was witness. I think it was amazing that these artists were given the exposure, support, and attention they deserved for three days. Hopefully, the artists benefited from the convention. On the opposite side, there were panels where you were able to meet and talk with your favorite actor or voice actor. I did not end up going to any of the panels as sadly I was not familiar with any of them.

There was one art that I really loved and had to buy! There were little legos of all the characters from One Piece. One Piece is really the only anime I watched outside of this class so I was mainly on a hunt to find things from the show. I ended up buying a Luffy lego piece as he is my favorite character.

Overall, this was genuinely an amazing experience. I got to see people be their true self without shame. No one there was worried about being judged or mistreated, but there were so many people similar to them. It was honestly so beautiful to see people embrace their “nerdy”/“geeky” side without feeling guilty.

sekine-kun no koi - kawachi haruka

overview: sekine-kun no koi is a josei romance that follows a male protagonist, sekine keiichiro (30), a successful and attractive salaryman who is a prisoner to his own passivity in life. he’s always been well-liked (mainly due to his good looks) and done well at everything he’s tried, but mostly just did what was expected or asked of him, including everything from being student council president and captain of sports teams in school, to dating people because they asked him and breaking up when they asked for that, too. he’s a miserable, hollow dude. in his quest for random hobbies trying to fill the void he’s identified in his life, he ends up in a handicrafts store to buy some yarn (and ends up taking stage magic lessons from a weird old man who owns the place) and gets to know the proprietor’s granddaughter, from whom he learns to knit and crochet, which he ends up being exceptionally talented at. it doesn’t really bring him any more joy than anything else he’s tried, but it keeps him busy and he’s great at it. however, meeting kisaragi sara, the aforementioned granddaughter and knitter, mixes his life up in ways that he absolutely does not and cannot understand. watch as he attempts to understand the first thing about other people or, moreover, about his own damn self. 

available in english? yeah, you should have no problem finding all 5 volumes of this

nsfw? yes, this manga features brief scenes of sex and nudity, though nothing prolonged or “explicit,” as it were

things i liked: this is by kawachi haruka, i had forgotten that i added it to my ‘to read’ list after finishing natsuyuki rendezvous (see my review of that as well, if you’re interested) and seeing the synopsis, until just today. it features that same clean, appealing art that i really love. i’m really in awe of this and how much i liked it. natsuyuki rendezvous i enjoyed for its uniqueness, but it didn’t really land with me in the same way that sekine-kun did, i’m so glad i came back to my list and saw this sitting in there. my chest just ached for sekine the entire time i was reading this, his particular brand of absolute helplessness really had me in knots for him. it was exactly the kind of emotional that gets me, which is the kind where you just watch someone go ‘is it really supposed to be this hard?’ the entire time, a question which i personally have been trying to answer my entire life. i vibed with sekine, and i loved him a little bit, too. when the characters in the manga talk about not being able to leave him alone because he’s so helpless and pathetic, i felt that. a really unusual and lovable protagonist. i mean a romance from the perspective of a 30 year old man is already a real rarity, which is why i earmarked this to read in the first place. sara is a good foil, bubbly and fun and friendly, but secretly sort of dysfunctional about this stuff too. she’s lovable and her frequent fuck-ups with regard to their relationship are never too egregious or irritating so as to be off-putting, but rather understandable, especially given that we have significantly less insight into her thought process than sekine’s. once again, my favorite thing, which is adult characters making reasonable adult decisions. which is not to say good decisions, just, you know, ones where you can follow the logic. this was so refreshing and different and genuine. 

things i didn’t like: this did run up against the very edge of my tolerance for misunderstanding and poor communication keeping people apart in romance comics over and over, where you’re just shrieking ‘if you would simply talk to one another’ at the page. ultimately it was worth sticking with, but it did try my patience a bit towards, oh, the fourth volume. i also really loathed the romantic rival who inserts himself at first (it just really feels like sekine is going to have enough problems all on his own without someone else trying to sabotage him), but he does kind of become more interesting when you find out about his circumstances. 

i would check this out if: you’re looking for a fresh and genuine and unusually emotional (i mean to say that it has an usual emotional feel to it, not that it is uncommonly emotional in and of itself, if that makes sense) josei romance. 

i would avoid this if: you don’t tolerate melancholy well, you are sensitive to scenes of coercive sexual content (not perpetrated by any of the main characters, but mild spoiler: some of sekine’s flashbacks of his early experiences are pretty troubling if you’re bothered by that kind of thing), you have even thinner patience than i do for romantic misunderstandings keeping people apart.

this is dumb. completely and utterly stupid. why did he have to go and let songhee convince him to go to this thing? he’s not cut out for being an idol, he can barely handle people online acting like ‘fans’ of his just because he does tiktoks. he had no performing talents, so he’s just going to make a fool out of himself. at least it’s only an interview, he thinks. he likely won’t make it through to the next round, since he’s got no performing experience like he’s sure a lot of the other people auditioning have. 

do it for the free lunch, eric, he tell himself as he fills out the form, then waits for his name to be called, regularly wiping his clammy palms on his thighs. he’s sitting hunched over his seat, unconsciously trying to make himself as small as possible. he feels like everyone around him can tell just by looking at him that he doesn’t belong here. he’s no singer, no dancer, no rapper - he’s just funny! funny doesn’t make you an idol. 

but, it’s too late to back out when they call his name and he hesitantly makes his way into the interview room, handing over his form and positioning himself opposite the person he assumes is the interviewer standing beside a camera. he’s used to cameras at least, though usually he’s being filmed on his own phone, and not an intimidating looking camera and microphone setup. 

he’s told to introduce himself, and after a moments hesitation, he looks at the camera and smiles. “i’m sohn youngjae, but everyone calls me eric. i was born in la, in america, i’m 19, and i’m currently a composition student at korea national university of arts. i’m also... a barista, a pizza delivery guy and a 7 eleven employee. busy bee, that’s me!” at least he manages to relax while talking, though he’s still worried they’re going to ask him to sing or something. 

“alright eric, nice to meet you. i’m going to ask you a few questions now.” eric nods, his smile though forced and slightly nervous, remains on his lips. 

“okay eric, firstly, why do you want to be an idol?”

dammit. how is he meant to answer this question when he doesn’t want to be an idol? sure, it sounds amazing, singing and dancing on a stage and wearing fun outfits and meeting people who love you for doing something as enjoyable as singing and dancing, but could eric do that? he’s pretty sure that’s an absolutely not. “uh...” his brains whirring, trying to think of an answer that isn’t too much of a lie. “i... i really like dancing. i’ve always liked dancing, and singing - actually when i was a kid my dad got me a toy karaoke machine for christmas once and i did holiday shows for my mum at every little holiday there was, just because it was fun. i suppose being an idol would be way more difficult than singing livin’ la vida loca on a toy karaoke machine in your living room for your mum, but i think it would be worth the hard work.” he pauses, realising he’s sort of strayed from the initial question, and clears his throat with an embarrassed half-smile. “i do dance cover videos on tiktok, actually, and a lot of people seem to like those, and whenever someone tells me they really enjoy my dance videos, it feels... well it feels better than... anything else i think. it’d probably be one hundred times better to hear thousands of people say it about a proper performance, like on a stage.” his answer seems, to him, to suck, but how is he meant to tell someone why he wants to be an idol, when he doesn’t want to be an idol?

“so, singing and dancing are your best skills, are they? do you have any other talents?”

“oh boy, i wouldn’t say singing is a talent of mine. those karaoke shows weren’t at all worth the cookie my mum would pay me for attending them!” he jokes, laughing and relaxing a little, getting used to the situation a little more. “i’d say i’m best at dancing. my tiktok followers seem to like my dancing, so i mustn’t be that bad, right?” again, he laughs, rubbing the back of his neck a little awkwardly this time, realising that this poor woman probably had no idea what tiktok is. “as for other talents, i can actually sing the elements song my tom lehrer and the nations of the world song, both in full without a single mistake!” he exclaims proudly, only to realise the interviewer probably doesn’t know those songs either. “well, i can sew, knit and crochet! those are some fun skills! and juggling!” 

“on your form you put that your biggest influences are mostly girl groups. isn’t that a little strange for a boy?”

“oh, i don’t think so at all!” he responds quickly. “i think girl groups are more marketed towards guys anyway. but music is for everyone, no matter who’s singing it! i like the style of girl group songs more, and i think it’s fun to challenge expectations. so if someone expects me to do a boy group dance, and i do a girl group dance, and i do it well, it’s fun to see the surprise on their face. i do know a few boy group dances, and there’s a lot more power in them than girl group dances, but i like how much emotion goes into girl group songs, which is why i like them a lot more and like to learn the choreo to them.”

“what would you say is the biggest obstacle you’ve have to overcome?”

eric’s lips purse as he thinks over the question. “i... grew up very poor. a lot of the time there wasn’t a whole lot of food, or a very healthy variety of food in my house. i also never wore new clothes, only second hand clothes from goodwill, and, well, children can be mean when you’re different. not only was i an asian boy growing up in a predominantly white area, but i was also far worse off money wise than many of my classmates. i suffered a bit of bullying, but i suppose it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. other than that, moving to a new country as a young teen and having to learn a new language and make new friends was hard.”

“could you tell us a little bit about your family? has your home situation much improved since then?”

the questions about home life and family life aren’t eric’s favourite - it isn’t a topic he’s too open about, thanks to his mum’s problems. but he can sugar coat it, he’s got a lot of practise doing that. “my family was mainly just me and my mum growing up. she didn’t have a very well paying job, but she’s doing better now. my dad wasn’t around a lot as he worked in korea when i was young and growing up in la. things were definitely better when he lived in la as well for a while, but he and my mum weren’t married, so they didn’t like together so i sort of... have a split life. time spent with him i never really had to worry about how much anything cost, but with my mum i really did. i got my first job at thirteen because of it. my family’s not very close, i have a couple cousins, but i didn’t meet them until i moved to seoul, and i don’t see a lot of them often.”

“you said you have three jobs, all while being a student as well. how do you think this impacts your everyday life and overall ambitions?”

“i started working very young. i was a paperboy, so a simple job really, but it helped a little. then i was a milk delivery boy when i moved to seoul, a similarly simple job, and they never took up much of my time. now i have three jobs and as you can imagine they take up a lot of my time, but i have them scheduled around my school hours, so it isn’t too bad. i don’t think much about how they impact my ambitions really, since i don’t have a choice in doing them - if i want to pay rent i have to work. i have some free time here and there though, so i use that time to learn new things and do the things i enjoy, and hopefully when i graduate i can find a better paying job and have more time for the things i enjoy.” he realises too late that ambitions probably meant ‘dream to be an idol’. oh well. 

“so, if you weren’t trying to be an idol, what do you think you’d be doing?”

“probably exactly what i’m doing now.” he’s probably the only person who’s putting absolutely no free time into this ‘endeavour into being an idol’, since he never even thought about it as a career. he’d love to be an idol, but he simply doesn’t have the skills needed, and he isn’t delusional enough to think he does. with more practise and dance or vocal lessons maybe he’d have potential, but he doesn’t have the time nor money for those. “focusing on school, and trying hard to pay my way through it.”

“thank you, eric, that’s all. do you have any questions before we finish up?”

FAHC but they part time in the Arts

Some ideas about the crew but they also have their hands so heavily coated in art history they probably could out do the Louvre at this point..

Geoff is a professional restoration artist. He spends his money on tools and projects- taking old paintings and renewing them, buying old steamers and trunks at auctions and restoring them to their former glory. He works at the local museum in the back rooms, diligently working away to mend books and rebind them till they’re presentable for exhibition. The majority of his safe houses are just homes he bought on a whim and started renovating- going from the old 1920 speakeasy/barbershop that he just couldn’t abandon because “It’s like, a part of our history Jack! The precursor of crime!!”, to the small corner homes that don’t have walls or plumbing but demanded respect for their 180 years spent standing.

Ryan sews, knits, crochets, braids- and most importantly he can make Tapestries. His cool down time is him sitting in a quiet room and knitting/crocheting. When on stake outs he brings mending projects and some small knitting things. One time he made a full scarf and mitten set. One of his signatures is actually kinda terrifying- but when hes’s in charge of torture and questioning depending on how high profile the guy is, he has a very special method of questioning. Sometimes its in the palms, the soles of feet, across chests and sides. But Ryan will sew into his victim. On a particularly memorable occasion, when the guy responsible for putting on of the boys in the er, but he was too high profile and they couldn’t directly prove he was involved...ryan sews his mouth shut for good. 

Jack is a carpenter/builder. Got degrees in architecture and historical buildings.That’s how Jack met Geoff, working as his contractor for an apartment complex Geoff was renovating into a non profit shelter of sorts. Jack helps out on the restorations on old furniture and also helps Ryan with mending. But when Jacks not working with wood, theres always old knick knacks and cars to be repaired and refurbished. Jack, Michael, and Geoff restore old cars on the weekends and sometimes go racing with them. Jack has a small shop that doubles as a restoration and auto museum its great. But then theres also the gardens- Professional gardens that win every award possibile. So help you if you step on own of those manicured lawns and trample through the flower beds...death is the kindest outcome.

Michael does restoration too, but specializes in painting and statues. He has some pretty dedicated degrees in chemistry and the Arts, which he also uses to make bombs and ammo. He likes the quiet on cleaning and touching up paintings, and the precision works well with his hands. He also helps to restore old marble statues and sculptures, using his money to buy his workplace some top of the line gear like the laser that wipes away dirt from marble and stone. When he’s not at work or with the crew, which is rare, he likes to work with clay and plaster. The penthouse may or may not have various clay dicks hidden around the place, in various sizes and colors. 

Gavin works with photo restoration and preservation. He uses both physical means and digital to restore old photographs and some more modern ones if a client shows up with family photos they need fixed.He collects albums from all over the world and keeps them preserved carefully and diligently, while also finding old cameras and fixing them up as well. He also helps paint and does some printing/pressing when asked by geoff. On long distance trips he packs maybe three different cameras and goes trekking around cities, documenting old buildings and landmarks. He also designs some of their outfits, which then get passed over to ryan to create.

Jeremy gets old records and restores them. He finds old radios and Phonographs in junkyards that he polishes, shines, and moulds back to life.He uses digital equipment to clear up old scratched records and tapes, and then uses his own instruments and vocals to fill in the gaps. He also likes to collect old sports gear and renew it as well, he owns an truly antique boxing gym and it acts like a museum of sorts. His slightly off kilter hobby though is taking old weapons and restoring them. he gets help from some of the other guys on this one, because who doesn’t want a fully restored battle axe hanging in their living room?

Some of the stuff they work together on, like the theater geoff bought for  Jack and Jeremy, which everyone pitched in to restore and find talent for. Gavin sometimes aslo acts on the stage which everyone delights in watching. Sometimes Ryan joins in and the whole place is left in awe filled silence during his soliloquies. But the whole project really took years and hard work and it’s one of many buildings they own and work with. one being their local bar that also sidelines as a safe house/ local shelter for those who need it, geoff original owned it but gave it to michael after his stopped drinking.

Geoff, Jack, and Michael all work on cars together. New and old alike they fix and refurbish whatever comes their way. For heist vehicles they normally plan out their own modifications and don’t give the job to strangers. They own a full dozen workshops and some warehouses where they store and refurbish their vehicles, often times either selling them to good owners, museums, or people who are in need of vehicles. 

 There was one occasion in which everyone got to witness the great death bringer, the one and only, Vagabond himself- break down int gentle crying and reverent praise. It was on the anniversary of Ryan joining the crew, Gavin had just come back from a surprise trip to Italy and had gifted the man with a plain looking wooden box. Everyone was on the edge of their seat as they watched Ryan pry off the lid and very cautiously peel away some tissue paper...and then immediately get choked up.

No one really expected it, because the fabric looked dull and old but nothing special. It was a dull brown and the designs seemed a little too rough to be machine grade so it was a handmade gift but why the fuss? 

Because when Ryan so very tenderly lifted it up the light made the whole piece glitter and shimmer like fine gold, and the individual strands each reflected their own light so beautiful. 

“One of a kind, something I help make even!  At least a little bit. Would have been better if I could have gotten you into the lessons but you know, I only got this because I helped the seamstress out with some stuff..”

Ryan just shakes his head and puts the fabric back safely before standing and hugging the life out of Gavin, which probably shocks everyone more than the tears did.

One of the finest examples of history in tapestry, and it was such a simple thing to give. Sea Silk and a thoughtful gesture and that was all it took to break the vagabond. Ryan keeps the box under lock and key but regularly pulls it out and just stares at the sunlight on the fabric.
