people being surprised crit1kal is trans positive is so funny to me like. for those who don’t know. my brother has literally worked for him before they’ve met irl he’s genuinely like. just kinda a normal dude. like he's more confident on camera than he is in person he’s got a lot of social anxiety irl but from all i know he's genuinely just like, a fairly normal nice guy. like, he's made dumb takes but he's mostly just very online bc he doesn’t go out much. but like genuinely he is the most normal dude and his reaction to weird right wing transphobia shit is like genuinely how interactions like that end up happening in person people generally look at you weird if you say that.

i watched the first video. crit1kal has a great history of exposing internet scams and the scummy things companies do. this automatic litter box is NOT a Litter Robot. the Litter Robot by Whisker is a great automated litterbox that rotates horizontally. the only opening that a cat could possibly be caught in is protected by a MECHANICAL SWITCH. the motor that rotates the machine is severely underpowered (it's slow as hell, much slower than the knockoff mentioned here) and thus makes it even less likely for your cat to actually get stuck in it.

i own two Litter Robot 3 litter boxes. i highly recommend them for anyone looking for an automated litter box. yes, they are expensive, but they work, they're easy to use, they're easy to fix when they malfunction, and the company provides tons of user support.

my heart goes out to anyone who has lost a cat to these scam artists selling shitty knockoffs. if you want an automated litterbox, please buy a quality one. the youtube channel for one man five cats has other videos where he recommends great products. i can only recommend the one i have experience with.

PSA: BAD LITTERBOX

i don't usually make posts like this, but this is a truly upsetting topic to me as a lifelong cat owner, so i feel i have a duty to share my knowledge with others.

there is a type of automatic litterbox for cats being sold that is EXTREMELY dangerous and has killed numerous cats through blunt force trauma, suffocation, etc. this litterbox is being sold under different brand names and logos, so i will include the picture of the model and two links to informational videos with more evidence and eloquence than i am able to provide.

please consider not having this type of litterbox in your home for your furry friends. me and my 16 year old tortie, puddy, want the best for all your kitty friends
