Potential AU: Henry is a tattoo artist and Alex is getting his first tattoo ;)

I do NOT write enough tattoo AUs in general lol

ONE: When Alex rocks up at the shop, the first thing he does is tell Henry that the last tattoo artist he tried told him his skin was 'too dark' for the pastels colours he wants in the design, and if Henry thinks the same, to let him know so he can leave. Henry just stares at him for a moment and then tells Alex that the last tattoo artist he tried was an idiot who's bad at their job and Henry, as a general rule, tries not to be.

TWO: Alex tells Henry straight up that he's not an artist, but he'll know it's right when he sees it. Henry gets him talking while he draws, and Alex keeps pulling himself back from tangents, sure it's distracting—but then Henry asks another question and he's off again.

THREE: When Henry flips the iPad around, it's beyond anything Alex imagined. He cries. Henry hands him a tissue. It's only a little bit embarrassing.

FOUR: Getting tattooed hurts more than Alex was prepared for, but the way Henry's hair falls across his forehead and the scrunch of his nose as he concentrates... it helps. It helps a lot.

FIVE: Alex scribbles his number on a scrap piece of paper and folds it around Henry's tip when he's done, hands it over with a grin and a wink.

He has a text from Henry before he's more than a hundred feet down the road.
