Maki was born in osaka, her and her twin brother (Shuji) were an accidental pregnancy and their mother is not sure who exactly the real father is but told a rich business man (later one of the men to help fund w bllk) that she had previously hooked up with that they were his children, the man funded them with all of the money expenses but wasn't usually present due to work, maki also had an older sister (Fuyuko) who was 16 when they were born. After awhile her mother left her twins with their older sister (who lived in tokyo) when they were just 8 while her mother started her modeling career. This made her despise her mother for leaving them with nothing and funded barely pennies.

Maki would play soccer with her brother and his friend. Growing up she was always popular due to her looks and was always in relationships but always dumped or ghosted them cuz she never felt a connection. In highschool she was noticed by a modeling company who asked her if she could do some shoots etc. Maki agreed no hesitation she still despises her mother and wanted to get back at her. Now she's a top model in Japan but still wants to be bigger so hopefully her mother would finally recognise her. She's done shoots with a bunch of soccer players and because her "dad" helps funding with bllk, she has more shoots with them. If she was being honest she did have a fat crush on shidou for some reason, she was even head over heels, she gets so nervous around him.
