series masterlist
You got to Gotham city when you were five, you didn't want to go but you had no choice your mother was dead, and had left you in the care of your father.
But even at five years old your father had no time for you. Always busy with the public, or with Batman.
At the time Dick was fifteen, he had no reason to care for a little sister, but Jason. Oh Jason Todd, to you he was an angel.
Your big brother who at eight years old you deemed cooler than Dick Grayson.
Everyday after patrol, he'd come up and check on you, tell you a story usually a more child friendly version of his missions.
You kept him grounded, you made all his anger go away, an anger you blamed Bruce for because when you two first met he wasn't angry he was a happy kid. Everytime you called his name, the soft mutter of "Jay" would knock some sense into him.
But after the accident, the one you went blind, you were nine nearly ten and Jason would stay fifteen, in that year you had lost two things.
Your sight, and your big brother.
You were often met with pity than concern because of it. Everyone always asking if you were alright, but never truly caring about the answer.
You heard about the headlines when it happened, "Y/n Wayne, gone blind" or "Gotham's little princess now Gotham's latest victim"
It's not like they actually cared, no of course not they only gave a shit about the publicity they'd get from selling stories like this.
You were only nine years old, you'd think five years would be enough to adjust.
Apparently not..
"Miss Wayne" you heard a gentle knocking at the door of your father's office- well it's your office now. Bruce signed Wayne Industries off to you, because it would make everyone's lives easier if you (someone they deemed quite useless) were actually doing something important, it gave them more vigilante time. Besides you finished school already, you were a smart kid, always top of your class you managed to skip a couple of grades and graduate early like super early.
You were a disappointed when nobody but Alfred turned up, then again you'd stopped caring about that a while ago. Jason - your beloved zombie brother - wouldn't stop apologising, and he took you for ice-cream and hung out with you for the rest of the night as an apology. You couldn't stay mad at him.
"Yes?" you'd been running the company for a few weeks, Alfred was usually helping you. Reading out things that weren't in braille, but since the first thing you did when you got Wayne Industries was buy braille embossers mainly 'cause you knew Alfred would always be there to help you with everything.
"Sorry to disturb you Miss, but y'know that guy that you fired last week?"
"Yeah, the one that was caught uh- having sex in the storage room right?"
"The very same Miss" if you could see right now Tani's face would be littered with pink on her cheeks, "He wants to sue"
"And?" you groaned, that came out harsher that you intended, you could sense that she understood.
"Well he's got a pretty compelling case against the company. When your father owned it that is, very incriminating"
"shit" you muttered under your breath, mentally thanking any godly being out their that Alfred wasn't there to hear you.
"how hard is it to get a good lawyer?"
"No" Matt's voice was firm, he didn't want to take the case and nobody could make him.
"no what do you mean, no" Foggy didn't get it, I mean he sort of did but you were offering a nice pay- like more than what's in their pay grade- but it had nothing to do with criminal law, sort of.
"I don't want to do it Foggy, it has nothing to do with my job or qualifications"
"I'm going to do it then"
"No" Foggy wasn't even listening, he had already walked out of the room and went to reply to the email your secretary had sent to him and various other lawyers.
Foggy stepped up to Tani's desk- Matt beside him- and smiled, eying to the elevator that led all the way up to your office, two security guards on each side. You had put them there for Tani because when she didn't let people up they'd harass her.
"Hi, we're here to see Miss Wayne" Foggy's voice only slightly louder than the crappy music in the background. Tani looked up, "name?"
"Nelson, Foggy Nelson"
For the first time since they arrived Matt talked, but only to utter his name.
"Through the elevator please"
They walked as silently as possible, neither in the mood to talk to one another. Once they were inside and going up Matt was talking.
"Y'know kidâs probably just gonna be another spoilt rich kid, who's daddy running the business behind their back because they can't do shit"
Foggy only let out a sigh, and walked through the elevator doors when he saw it open, only to reveal another door, one he assumed led to your office.
He was shocked to hear laughter coming from inside the room, what ever happened to professionalism?
"Alfie, I swear this guy was high-"
Matt heard a this 'Alfie' guy chuckle "Miss Wayne you can't say that about them, they're lawyers that came hear to help you"
"I know I know, but you should've seen them" you exaggerated the word seen and it made Alfred laugh.
But the laughter stopped when Foggy knocked on the door and Alfred cleared his through smiling while gesturing for them to come in.
"Oh my god, she's blind Matt" Foggy whispered, as he watched you move from leaning on the desk and stood up straight.
"Sorry I'd shake your hand but I'm not exactly sure where you are"
Matt smiled at that "Don't worry 'bout it, 'cause I don't know where you are either"
"He's blind" Foggy not so discreetly whispered to you.
"I can see that" you whispered back with a chuckle, you cleared you throat "now onto business then?"
"Of course"
Okay maybe Matt was a little wrong about you, alright very wrong about you. You were nothing like he imagined, but then again he hadn't put much thought to what you might be like.
He could tell that you could handle yourself, and that impressed him a lot. He could also tell that you were still grasping the ropes of being blind.
And well he wanted to help you, to train you. He thought it was funny, him training someone but he wanted to try. Maybe you could be the next Daredevil.... scratch that he didn't want that for you.
Now how is someone supposed to reveal a secret identity to a complete stranger?

Is the death note 2015 drama good?
Iâd say yeah, actually. It really was! 8, maybe 8.5 out /10.
i have to be real, I seriously loved watching this series, particularly the second half. Iâll do a spoiler free review first, but I do think I need to make it clear that I did not watch this in the conventional way letâs just say. My sibling and I watched this through a nearly 200 video long playlist of 2 minute clips on YouTube, in Japanese (duh) with Portuguese subtitles- note that neither of us speak Portuguese, nor Japanese, and are only vaguely competent in Spanish and French respectively, so my experience of the series may be a little skewed to how it may come off in its original or properly subbed versions. I cannot speak on how the writing was for the dialogue, for example, but I can talk about the plot, characterisation, etc.
if you want to watch any live action adaptation (thatâs not the musical, because GO WATCH THAT) it had better be this one.
SPOILER FREE REVIEW STARTS HERE
first off, the changes. Boy were there changes. Practically the entire plot takes a hard left right from the start, and it keeps on going from there. Vague outlines, like Yotsuba and misa and Mikami and yellow box warehouse remain, but the circumstances are all vastly different. i adored the changes to both Watari and Lâs relationship, and both of theirs with near and⌠Mello. I donât think it really spoils much for me to say that for some reason known by only the writers of that series and god, Mello is made an alter of Nearâs that is represented by a ventriloquist dummy. i also will never be the same after this version of soichiro and Lightâs relationship. The fact they seem closer yet more distant, and the parentification of light drives a wedge and brings them together at the same time. As much as I LOVE the original version of them, there is something just more utterly devastating about these two here. The mock execution for example ends with light clinging onto his father while they both sob, and Iâm not even joking when I say that it brought me to tears.
speaking of parentification, the reason for that is Dead Mom Trauma. Yeah they killed off Sachiko (which Iâm not counting as a spoiler because itâs revealed within the first episode and has no plot relevance other than giving light MORE motive). Iâm not too sure why this was necessary, and itâs this type of slightly contrived writing that drops its rating a bit for me. This didnât need to happen
on the topic of light, he is a VERY different character in this. Heâs messier, a nervous wreck half the time, smart but not so infallible as anime or manga light. He panics with raye penber, panics with light, IS A MISA MISA FAN and has a job. He has a best friend and a bully. Heâs more average, and knows loss, and his decline is less of a sharp drop off than it is a slow painful descent into utter madness and evil. Heâs a babygirl until suddenly you see a flashback and realise heâs not that guy anymore
Ryuk is great. An annoying bastard who watches on through the end.
Misa is also pretty good. Sheâs pretty similar to the source material tbh, but has a little more agency, and has Mikami as her lawyer, or at least the lawyer who told her her parents murderer was going free, which is interesting
speaking of Mikami, he is a secondary character pretty much the whole way through, and we get to see his build up of resentment towards the criminals who go free despite his efforts, which I very much enjoyed. I always felt like he came out of nowhere a bit in the anime, so this was a welcome change.
before I completely move on from light and miss, btw, light and his friend genuinely go to about 5 SEPARATE ICHIGO BERRY CONCERTS OVER THE SPAN OF LIKE 4 EPISODES?? Ichigo berry is misaâs group in this, and I find it hilarious that light was a fan before even the death note showed up
aaaaand for L. Heâs really damn good. His characterisation is widely different from the anime, heâs more optimistic and suave in a way, he smiles and lounges in his chair instead of crouching, and wears white button down shirts and trousers and hands Watari clearly empty pieces of paper to which Watari declares âanother wilful request!â And goes on to do some task for him. He has a screensaver on every computer in this hotel room designed as task force hq that changes at night to a nighttime version. He's hot. Heâs gay. Heâs autistic. Heâs totally different to the L we all know and love but at the same time is recognisable as L and loveable in his own way. overall, the plot was pretty good although it was very messy to begin with, raye penber is like,, a main antagonist, for the first 3 eps??? The Shinigami cgi is awful, the fashion is painfully mid 2010s and the characters are very clearly not the same as in the original. if you go into it expecting a perfect 1-1 of the anime, just LA, youâre bound to come back disappointed. If you go into it looking forward to seeing an alternate take on the world of death note, another universe where everything is a little to the left, youâll thoroughly enjoy it. The emotional beats hit hard, and given itâs a tv drama, the story focuses far more on the characters and their emotions than the mind fuckery weâre used to. What does remain, however, is the Lawlight, to such an extreme degree where I find it plausible that they knew what they were doing. They knew that their relationship could come off as romantic, and played it up. now onto the spoilers!
SPOILERY STUFF STARTS HERE!!!

I LOVE THIS DAMN SHOW ICL
Light killing his bully and trying to erase the names??? Otoharada almost killing Soichiro??? THE CAMERAS STILL BEING THERE WHEN MISA ARRIVES???!!?!!
gahhh where do I even start. Iâve got FEELINGS about Lâs death and Soichiroâs, FEELINGS about the dad friendship of Watari and Soichiro, FEELINGS about the lawlight of it all.
My sibling and I are both staunch supporters of both the Good Dad soichiro and Good Dad Watari perspectives, and we were FED. I scrumpt many screams at just how fed we were getting, thatâs how good it was. i guess Iâll start with that. The conversation between soichiro and Watari about their âkidsâ was genuinely moving, and it was adorable to hear them both talk about how much they love their children.
that made it all the more heartbreaking when soichiro died. At that point, L was dead (which I will get to) and near/Mello was on the run, which left Watari utterly alone. The only person using hq at that point was light, who was fully Evil and he knew it. I screamed so loud it started everyone around me when soichiro said Lightâs name while he was monologuing. That is EXACTLY how I wanted a confrontation between them to go down. Soichiro seeing through lights acting and lies and being so distraught that it was true, his son was Kira, and it was obvious the whole time when you knew where to be looking. The way he never took his eyes off of him after Lâs death, and the way that that allowed him to see all the little glances and âthat Kira face you makeâ as Ryuk put it. He saw under the mask, and was disgusted by what he saw. When he screamed lights name as he tried to weasel his way out of it like he had done for Lâs death, Iâd like to think it was the first ounce of fear heâd felt since L had died. And of course he denied denied denied right up until Soichiro tried to burn the note, and THAT was when he screamed and fought and begged, not when his father was writing his own name in the note which he had sworn was a fake. He let his father die, but drew the line at the book being burned.
he pried the notebook out of his own fatherâs dead vice grip.
without a single ounce of a joke, that was my favourite scene in the series. One of my favourites in DN as a whole. As I said in the non-spoiler section, this contrasted with the mock-execution scene is just so devastating, yotsuba!light loved his dad so damn much, and Kira just watched him kill himself, knowing full well he could stop it.
In tandem, Lâs death was so underpinned by the friendship between L and Light as well. They donât just pretend not the despise each other, they genuinely tolerate, or even get along. Of course I could point out the obvious, like the shower scene or âI wish we could have met another wayâ âthis is the only way we could have metâ but i actually want to bring up some smaller points. First off, that moment where Matsuda asks him why he still calls L Ryuga instead of L or Ryuzaki, and he tells him that itâs because heâd rather have Ryuga the friend than L the detective. And even just prior to the âI wish we could have metâŚâ scene, when light thinks heâs about to kill L he sobs as he tells him that all he wanted is to show L his new world, and that he wants to be his friend forever (âfriendâ yeah ok dude). He screams and kisses(?) his head when he does die, and rocks him as he lies there, and holds him close until heâs taken away. And Lâs final posthumous video. The one where he says, even though he admits the chance that he was wrong and this video needs to be shown is slim, that he was sorry for doubting Light and that heâs glad to be his friend, and that he would be good enough to come and work with him and Near someday. And Light never gets to see that video.
the scene where L comforts near/Mello after his death is so tragic it hurts. Watari is crying, and he hugs near despite the fact that they seemed pretty detached from each other prior. Theyâve lost family, and even Wammyâs in this version are allowed to let emotion overcome them.
somethings I wasnât too big a fan of included:
raye penber being SUCH A MAJOR ANTAGONIST?? why was he a bigger threat than L for so long. Why was his real name actually Mark Dwellam or something. Why didnât Naomi exist (well I know we got Himura/Lidner but still) why did light take such a big risk instructing him to write the names IN A CAFE?? He almost killed Light. He figured it out before anyone else really, and itâs so ridiculous that this man really did All That.
also, Yostuba was anticlimactic. The whole arc lasted barely an episode and a half, if that, and I really loved this version of mind wiped light and Misa, so that was a real shame. They figured out about Higuchi so quickly it was hilarious. The CGI when light was pricking his finger to write with was glaring obvious and bad, and duh I didnât expect the actor to actually do it but it broke immersion a bit when this blob of blood looks so clearly edited in. You can really tell he just pressed the side of the needle into his finger and that made me laugh a bit. The good thing about the bad things is at least theyâre funny and not just frustrating.
my final major grievance was just with the pacing. I feel like they hit the sweet spot between episodes 8-10 and then fell flat in the last one a bit. It feels pretty rushed but also like it dragged somehow. The first few eps definitely dragged, while the middle section flew by. also, ichigo berry performs the same song every time.
To conclude, this is a totally different show to the original and the characters reflect that. Light is a nervous wreck far longer than heâs the psychopathic god of the new world, and L is a cool guy who eats fruit pouches(?) and tbh they should kiss cos of that. Light as a clearly gay-coded make up designer slayed. Goodnight all.

âWhen the deal is too good, think twice before embarking on it.â â Joshua Muasa
âHello gentlemen, may I introduce myself?â asked the FBI agent, not waiting for an answer before proceeding. âI am Agent Neal and this is Agent Parvis. We will be handling the case so any and all information and communication goes through us,â he explained, his facial expressions stern though he waved a hand when he addressed his partner.
Agent Parvis cleared his throat then nodded to Jameson Stanton who was sitting to the right of him. âWe also have your lawyer, Mr. Stanton, here on the call,â Parvis added before glancing back at the computerâs video camera.
On the other side of the call, almost 4,000 miles away, sat Warren Cold and Adriel Donovan. The pair were in an undisclosed location, one Ace had set up to ensure their location could not be traced, sitting on metal folding chairs. Warren held the phone so both Adriel and he could both be seen through the cameraâs lens.
Warren remained silent, only nodding in acknowledgment that they could hear.
Agent Neal opened the manila file on the table all three men were seated at then looked back at the camera. âWhat I have here is a contract. Signing this, agreeing to this, would bind you all agreements listed. I wonât read all the legal jargon but your lawyer has combed through it meticulously. Iâll get to the gist of itâŚâ he said, trailing off. âWe can help each other. You two have landed yourself in quite the situation. We can help you get out of it and get back on U.S. soil as free men.â
Warren noticed Adriel sitting up straight in his seat. âWhatâs the catch?â asked Adriel, his tone neutral.
Agent Parvis raised his hands up in defense. âNo catch but we do need something in return. I wonât sugarcoat this, boys. Itâs not going to be easy, nor will it be safe. You could potentially get yourselves killed through this which the United States Government will not be held liable,â he explained.
Warren shook his head, glancing at Adriel who was listening intently.
âLong story short. Thereâs a criminal we want more than you two combined. Sources inform us that heâs located in Panama which we do not have jurisdiction in. You capture him, dead or alive, and weâll handle the rest. If you fail, get killed, or anything other than completing thisâŚthen the deal is invalid, and we will be within our rights to continue to pursue you and capture you. If youâre interested, name your terms,â finished Agent Neal.
Warren held his finger up, asking for a short moment. He pressed the mute button on the call and placed the phone face down on the ground. âWhat are you thinking?â he asked Adriel whose face had paled.
Adriel didnât look at Warren. He had his hands clasped behind his head, his head tilted up towards the ceiling. âI want to go home. I want to take Cataleya home. She deserves it,â was all he said, sighing heavily then glancing at Warren. âI know you want to get back and actually live.â
Warren chuckled lightly, shaking his head. âAlright then. I got your back and you got mine,â he told him before picking up the phone again and unmuting the call.
âFull immunity for Warren Cold and myself. My wife, Cataleya, also comes home with full immunity. If I fail or if I am killedâŚâ Adriel started, swallowing hard though his facial expression was stern. ââŚshe still gets to come home, full immunity. I want my criminal record and my brotherâs, August Donovanâs, wiped clean. Not even as much as a parking ticket should be on it. Guarantee me that and Iâll sign.â
In the back, Jameson Stanton was writing down the amendments to the contract. He was writing on the document, highlighting and dating the note then looked at the agents who were speaking amongst themselves.
âYouâve got yourself a deal,â Agent Neal stated.
Warren hadnât released he was holding his breath until he could visually see Adrielâs shoulders relax out of the corner of his eye. He nodded then glanced through the phone screen at the agents.
âSo who are we after?â Warren asked.
There was a smirk that spread across Agent Parvisâ face. He turned the file so he could see the photo of their target. âThis is Allan Esteban Hidalgo Jimenez, wanted for human trafficking. Wanted across seven countries, heâs been known target young girls. They range anywhere from ages 11 to 17. He grooms them for profit. Sexual services in nature and also, mules for transporting drugs, often selling to clients. Take him out and weâll take care of bringing down the entire operation,â stated Agent Parvis.
Adriel immediately recognized the man but didnât utter a word. He was sick to his stomach, the rage within him starting to fuel the fire.
Warren didnât acknowledge any of the information being given until the last photo was shown of known associates. There, right before his eyes, was the picture of Julieta. His stomach immediately knotted up, a bitter laugh escaping his lips. âOf course,â he said, looking at Adriel. âItâs always the fucked up ones that seem to find me.â
The photo of the beautiful woman was Julieta Jimenez, the same girl he had been dancing with months ago at a bar called Titoâs, the night he went out with Adriel in an attempt to bury his grief.
âFuck me,â was all Warren could say.

DEPRIVATION OF THE RIGHTS OF THE PRISONERS
IN THE SO-CALLED ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN,Â
WHICH BY DEFINITION IS NEITHER ISLAMIC, NOR REPUBLIC,Â
UNFORTUNATELY!Â
ACTUALLY, IT IS AN AUTOCRATIC DICTATORSHIP RULED BY A FEW CHOSEN FEUDAL LANDLORDS, A LEGACY OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE.
THE NEW PDM GOVERNMENT OF OLD PAKISTAN IS GUILTY OFÂ
VIOLATION OF INTERNATIONAL LAW. BY THE WAY THEY AREÂ
DEHUMANIZING H.E. IMRAN KHAN, THE FUTURE PRIME MINISTER OF NEW (NAYA) ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN, IN SHAA ALLAH!
It goes without saying that Islam caters for the physical and the psychological fitness of prisoners. In Islam, prisoners, like all other members of society, have their rights. They should be treated with care and get the due educational and religious courses that help them improve psychologically and be good citizens after they get out of the prison. While in prison, they are not to be tortured or the like.Â
Focusing more on this issue, here is the fatwa issued by Sheikh Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjid, a prominent Saudi Muslim scholar and lecturer: âIslam pays great attention to the matter of prisons and the circumstances of prisoners. It is rare to find anything similar to this in any place or time. The jurists discussed in their books the rulings pertaining to prisoners, their circumstances and how they should be treated. This concern stems from the Islamic concern for the protection of man and respect for his humanity.Â
To make the matter easier to understand and to make the rulings more clear, the scholars divided the subject-matter into two parts: the rulings pertaining to the personal health of prisoners, and the rulings pertaining to health care in the place that is used as a prison.Â
Rulings pertaining to the personal health of prisonersÂ
1.The jurists discussed the matter of imprisoning a person who is sick in the first place. Do the authorities have the right to imprison a sick person? The answer is that this is a matter of ijtihad (legal reasoning), and the final decision rests with the judge who must weigh up the reason why this person is to be imprisoned, the seriousness of his disease, and the possibility of taking care of him in jail.Â
If sufficient health care is available for this sick person in prison, and he is not suffering a serious illness that could kill him if he is detained, it is permissible to imprison him. If such care is not available, the judge may hand him over to someone who can treat him and guard him, without releasing him completely, until it is possible to imprison him again.Â
2.If a prisoner becomes sick while in jail and it is possible to treat him there, then he must be treated without bringing him out. Doctors and servants should not be prevented from going in to see him, treat him and serve him. If lack of treatment leads to his death, criminal charges are to be laid against those who were the cause of that, and they are to be punished.Â
The Prophet (SallAllahu âalaihi wa Sallam) passed by a prisoner who was in chains, and he called out, âO Muhammad, O Muhammad!â He came to him and said, âWhat is the matter?â He said, âI am hungry, feed me. I am thirsty, give me water.â The Prophet (SallAllahu âalaihi wa Sallam) commanded that his needs should be met. (Narrated by Muslim).Â
And no doubt medical treatment is what the sick person needs. But if it is not possible to treat him inside the prison, he must be taken out to a place where it is possible to treat him, under the supervision of the jail or whoever is delegated to the task of watching and guarding him.Â
With regard to these rulings, the jurists do not differentiate between physical illness and psychological illness (true psychological illness, that is, as opposed to the made-up psychological illness or the regular psychological illness which many lawyers use as a means of getting criminals let off).Â
Hence the jurists (Rahimullahu âalaihim) stated that it is not permissible to lock the door on the prisonerâso long as there is the certainty that he will not run awayâor to put him in a dark room, or to harm him in any way or to do anything that will make him terrified. His relatives should not be prevented from visiting him, because this will have an effect on his health and psychology.Â
3.It is prescribed for the authorities or their representative to set up a special medical wing in the prison to take care of the prisonersâ health needs. This will spare them the need to take them out to public hospitals and expose them to possible insult and humiliation.Â
4.Prisoners should be allowed to see their spouses and to have intimate relations with them, if there is a suitable place for that in the jail, as a protection for them and their spouses.Â
5.The jurists stated that it is obligatory to enable prisoners to do ablution and purify themselves, which is undoubtedly an important protective precaution against sickness.Â
Rulings pertaining to health care in the prisonÂ
The place that is used as a prison should be spacious, clean, well-ventilated, lit by natural sunlight, and furnished with the necessary facilities such as washrooms, etc. It is not permissible to gather such a large number of prisoners in one place that they will not be able to do ablution and pray.Â
Prohibitions in disciplining or dealing with prisonersÂ
1.Mutilating. It is not permitted to punish a prisoner by cutting off any part of his body or breaking any of his bones. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade mutilation of prisoners of war and said, âDo not mutilate.â (Narrated by Muslim).Â
2.Hitting the face, et cetera. This is prohibited because of the humiliation involved. By the same token, it is not permitted to put chains on prisonersâ necks or to lay them on the ground to whip them, even if this is the hadd (Islamic punishment) prescribed for them, because this involves humiliation and harms their health and bodies.Â
3.Punishment by fire, strangulation or holding a prisonerâs head under water. The exception is in cases of qisaas (retaliation) and where the punishment needs to fit the crime. For example, if a person has committed aggression against another by burning him, it is permissible to exact retribution against him in the same manner.Â
4.Starving prisoners or exposing them to cold, or feeding them harmful things, or preventing them from wearing clothes. If a prisoner dies because of such things, his jailer may be executed in retribution qisaas or be required to pay diyah (blood money).Â
5.Removing prisonersâ clothing. This is prohibited because it uncovers their `awrah (private parts) and exposes them to physical and psychological illness.Â
6.Preventing them from relieving themselves, doing ablution and praying. It is obvious that this is harmful to the prisonersâ health. Examples of Muslimsâ concern for prisoners The Hadith mentioned above shows how the Prophet (SallAllahu âalaihi wa Sallam) issued commands that prisoners should be cared for and their needs for food and drink met.Â
The Prophet (SallAllahu âalaihi wa Sallam) often used to hand prisoners over to his Companions and urge them to treat them well.Â
The Rightly-Guided Caliph `Ali ibn Abi Talib (RadiyAllah âanhu) used to inspect the prisons, meet the prisoners in them, and inquire about their circumstances.Â
`Umar ibn `Abdul-`Aziz (RadiyAllah âanhu), the fifth Rightly-Guided Caliph, used to write to his employees, telling them to see how the prisoners were and to take care of the sick among them.Â
Caliph Al-Mu`tadid (RadiyAllah âanhu) allocated 1500 dinars of the monthly budget to be spent on the needs and medical treatment of prisoners.Â
When the Abbasid Caliph Al-Muqtadir (RadiyAllah âanhu) imprisoned one of his ministers, Ibn Muqlah, and the minister got sick. So the caliph sent the famous doctor Thabit ibn Sinan ibn Thabit ibn Qurrah to treat him in jail, and he urged him to treat him well. The doctor used to feed him with his own hand and treated him very kindly.Â
At the time of the Caliph Al-Muqtadir (RadiyAllah âanhu), the minister `Ali ibn `Isa Al-Jarrah wrote to the head of the hospitals of Iraq at that time: âI have been thinking, may Allah (Subhanahu wa Taâala) grant you long life, about those who are in prison. With their large numbers and rough accommodation, they are not free from disease. They are prevented from doing things which will benefit them and meeting with doctors whom they can consult about the sicknesses they are exposed to.Â
So you have to appoint doctors for them who will go in and see them every day and take them medicine and drinks, and who will go around to all the jails and treat the sick in them and prescribe medicine for them.â This care lasted throughout the reign of al-Muqtadir, al-Qahir, al-Radi and al-Muttaqi.â

How to Choose the Right Criminal Defense Attorney in San Diego?
Facing criminal charges in San Diego can be an incredibly stressful experience, whether you're dealing with a misdemeanor or a felony offense. One of the most important decisions you'll make during this time is choosing the right San Diego criminal defense attorney to represent you. Your lawyer will play a pivotal role in your case, influencing the outcome and the penalties you may face. Thatâs why itâs essential to choose someone who is experienced, trustworthy, and well-versed in criminal law in San Diego.
In this article, weâll guide you through the process of selecting the right criminal defense attorney in San Diego, providing you with practical steps and advice to help ensure that you get the best legal representation possible.
1. Understand Your Needs and the Type of Defense You Require
Before you start searching for a criminal defense attorney in San Diego, itâs important to understand the nature of the criminal charges you're facing. Criminal law encompasses a wide range of offenses, including DUIs, theft, assault, drug possession, and more. Depending on the type of crime you're charged with, the defense strategies and expertise required can vary greatly.
For example, if you're charged with a DUI offense, youâll need a criminal defense attorney who specializes in DUI cases and understands the complex rules and procedures associated with impaired driving charges. Similarly, if you're facing drug possession charges, you'll want a lawyer with experience in defending drug-related cases.
Identifying the specific charges you're up against will help you narrow down your search and focus on attorneys with expertise in your area of need.
2. Look for Experience and Specialization in Criminal Defense
When it comes to criminal law, experience matters. You donât want to trust your future to an attorney who doesnât have a strong background in criminal defense. Itâs crucial to look for a San Diego criminal defense attorney who has significant experience handling criminal cases, particularly those similar to yours.
Here are some factors to consider when evaluating an attorney's experience:
Years of Practice: How long has the attorney been practicing criminal law in San Diego? An attorney with years of experience is likely to have a deep understanding of local laws and procedures.
Case Type Experience: Ensure the attorney has experience handling cases like yours. If you're facing charges for a drug-related offense, a lawyer with experience in drug defense is preferable.
Success Rate: While past success isnât a guarantee of future outcomes, an attorney's track record can give you an indication of their skill level and how well they handle cases.
Make sure to ask the attorney about their past experience in cases similar to yours and whether theyâve had favorable results in those types of cases.
3. Check for Reputation and Client Reviews
A criminal defense attorneyâs reputation is often a reflection of their competence and effectiveness in the courtroom. One way to gauge an attorney's reputation is by reading online client reviews and testimonials. Many law firms now have websites with reviews from past clients, but you can also check third-party websites like Google, Avvo, and Yelp for more insights.
When reading reviews, pay attention to feedback related to:
Communication: Was the attorney easy to communicate with? Did they keep the client informed about the case's progress?
Professionalism: Did the attorney show professionalism and courtesy throughout the process?
Case Results: How successful was the attorney in achieving favorable outcomes for their clients?
You can also ask the attorney for references from past clients who had similar cases. These referrals can provide firsthand accounts of the attorney's skills and reliability.
4. Evaluate the Attorneyâs Communication Skills
Good communication is a critical factor in choosing the right criminal defense attorney. You want a lawyer who listens to your concerns, explains your options clearly, and provides you with regular updates throughout the process.
When you first meet with a potential San Diego criminal defense attorney, pay attention to their communication style. Do they make you feel comfortable? Are they patient and willing to answer all your questions? An attorney who communicates well will be able to explain complex legal jargon in a way that you can understand, which is essential for making informed decisions about your case.
Additionally, the way an attorney communicates with you during the initial consultation can give you an idea of how they will handle communication throughout your case. If they are dismissive or fail to answer your questions adequately during this first meeting, they may not be the right fit for you.
5. Assess the Attorneyâs Approach to Your Case
Each criminal defense attorney has their own approach to handling cases. Some may be aggressive in fighting charges, while others may prefer a more collaborative approach to negotiations and settlements. The right approach for you will depend on the specifics of your case and your personal preferences.
During your initial consultation, ask the attorney about their approach to defending clients. Here are a few things to consider:
Strategy: How does the attorney plan to approach your case? Do they have a clear strategy for defending you?
Negotiation Skills: Will they attempt to negotiate a plea deal or work toward reducing your charges or penalties? Or are they prepared to take your case to trial if necessary?
Personalized Attention: Does the attorney take the time to understand your case in depth and develop a personalized defense strategy?
Choosing an attorney who has a clear plan and is open to discussing it with you is important in ensuring that you have the best chance of success.
6. Consider Legal Fees and Payment Plans
Legal fees can vary greatly depending on the complexity of your case, the attorney's experience, and their reputation. While itâs important not to choose an attorney solely based on cost, you do need to understand what the fees will be and how they will be structured.
When meeting with potential attorneys, make sure to discuss the following:
Fee Structure: Is the attorney charging a flat fee or hourly rate? Be sure to get clarity on how the attorney charges for their services.
Payment Plans: If you canât afford to pay the full fee upfront, ask whether the attorney offers payment plans or financing options.
Additional Costs: In addition to attorney fees, there may be other costs involved, such as court fees, expert witness fees, and other legal expenses. Make sure youâre aware of these potential costs upfront.
Choosing an attorney who is transparent about fees and payment structures will help avoid any surprises later on.
7. Trust Your Instincts
Finally, trust your instincts when choosing a San Diego criminal defense attorney. After meeting with a few attorneys and considering their experience, reputation, communication skills, and approach to your case, you should have a gut feeling about who is the right fit for you. Trust yourself to make the right decision, as youâll need to work closely with this attorney throughout your case.

Assault occurs when one person intentionally creates the impression of imminent harm on another. Those who threaten bodily harm to another with the ability to cause harm have committed assault, according to law. Assaults of any kind are not taken lightly by the court. It is highly recommended that you seek the assistance of an experienced assault lawyer if you are facing an assault charge.

RIGHTS OF PRISONERS IN ISLAM

DEPRIVATION OF THE RIGHTS OF THE PRISONERS
IN THE SO-CALLED ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN,Â
WHICH BY DEFINITION IS NEITHER ISLAMIC, NOR REPUBLIC,Â
UNFORTUNATELY!Â
ACTUALLY, IT IS AN AUTOCRATIC DICTATORSHIP RULED BY A FEW CHOSEN FEUDAL LANDLORDS, A LEGACY OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE.
THE NEW PDM GOVERNMENT OF OLD PAKISTAN IS GUILTY OFÂ
VIOLATION OF INTERNATIONAL LAW BY THE WAY THEY AREÂ
DEHUMANIZING H.E. IMRAN KHAN, THE FUTURE PRIME MINISTER OF THE NEW ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN, IN SHAA ALLAH!
