Best Cricket Blog in India
For nearly three centuries, cricket has been the most popular sport in India, and the famous cricket player is one of the wealthiest members of Indian society! Cricket is one of the few aspects of Indian life that unites the entire country.
Many of India's most famous cricket players started playing cricket on the street and gradually gained fame for their incredible talents.
Cricket, with its many energetic devotees, is one of the highest cultures in India. Men in Blue is one of the most famous adjectives that country cricket fans love to call their national cricket team. In a secular country like India, there are many cultures and religions, but the only thing that unites the heart and soul of every Indian is cricket.
There are other sports that have gained popularity across India - basketball, football and wrestling, to name three - but at heart, cricket is still the religion that holds the heart of India. India's professional cricket team is made up of some of the best players in the world, while names like Sunil Gavaskar, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble and Sachin Tendulkar are some of the largest. The Indian team is vying with the Pakistani team, and the India-Pakistan matches are among the most anticipated matches and the most watched TV coverage in the country.
Kricket Wicket is a stage that is about India’s greatest Sporting Obsession. We present to you the Best Cricket Blogs from our points of view on the happenings on the cricket field, from the past just as the present, as well as harping somewhat on the future by covering subtleties of impending occasions.

The case of Brett Lee’s doppelgänger
On my recent trip to Mysore with my school friends, we were lucky to meet Brett Lee, the great Australian pacer. The entire episode which concluded with our getting a group picture with him is no less interesting.
On our first morning at Mysore, I left the three musketeers at the restaurant where we were having breakfast and headed to my room for a shower. We had decided to visit the Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary and I was super excited.
The afternoon date with the crocodiles at Ranganathittu was a huge success, though the crocs did not show much interest, for which I would blame the presence of their female partners. We returned at the hotel at around 3:30 PM and found that Anju and Prapti’s room was still getting cleaned. We showed our displeasure and the housekeeping person started giving excuses that it was a busy day for him as the cricketers were put up at the hotel. The word cricketers worked as magic and the girls started asking a lot of questions. We learned that few matches of Karnataka Premier League were being played in Mysore and that very day i.e. 6th September was the final. Anju suddenly started probing about Brett Lee. That was when I learned about their morning fiasco.
It so happened that sometime after I left the restaurant, Vandana noticed Brett Lee on the opposite table.
Vandana: Hey, isn’t that Brett Lee? He sure does look like him?
Anju: That is surely not him, what would Brett Lee do here?
As luck would have it, they met Brett Lee again in the lift while going back to their rooms. Now the suspense was getting too much for the girls.
Prapti could hold it no more and blurted to Lee: You look like Brett Lee.
Brett Lee: Is it? People say so
And he was all smiles (obviously). Since our rooms were on the 2nd floor, seconds after the above conversation it was time for them to leave the lift. Brett Lee was still smiling and wished the girls good day and stuff. The girls’ innocence was so overpowering that even after such a chat, they totally believed him to be Brett Lee’s doppelganger (duh).
This whole story, when I learned was so overwhelming for me and so very unbelievable that I gave the girls a not just a piece but big chunk of my mind (no wonder I felt quite empty inside later). My lecture made them feel that it was a boon that they had not mentioned about Lee before or while at Ranganathittu as I would have surely thrown them into the crocodile infested lake. Well, as my reputation goes, you never know what might have happened …
After dinner, we decided to go to the reception and check. With our hunter mode on, we headed to the area only to find it calm with no trace of Brett Lee or any other cricketers. Our desperation prompted us to ask the hotel guys who informed that after the match Brett Lee headed to a party somewhere. Disappointed we decided to go and check the swimming pool area and the gym. After spending almost 30 minutes we decided to retire for the night, but after a quick tour of the reception. The reception area was buzzing with activity now. There were some guests who were checking in and we could also see the partners of some of the cricketers moving around. We decided to wait at the lobby for some time and see if lady luck smiles on us. Almost immediately we saw Brett Lee heading towards the restaurant. Without losing any precious moments we jumped right in. The girls’ apologized for their ‘simplicity’ earlier and we requested for a group picture. In spite of his hectic day he obliged and just said, ‘ok but make it quick girls’. I handed over my phone to a hotel employee and he clicked a few quick ones. We thanked Lee and he headed to get his dinner while we returned to our room in a daze. While we were still letting the moment to sink in, Prapti said, ‘you know what I really liked was that he addressed us as “girls”’.
I too took back all my lecture and confessed that it was but for their inability to recognize him earlier, I too got a chance to get clicked. Had they identified him correctly then, the group picture would have been without me and who knows, maybe out of sheer jealously I would have actually tossed them to the crocodiles.
