No one noticed the boy. He stood in the middle of the dark ballroom, attached to the warm, bright fire that flickered thought the night. The clockwork maids sped around offering red wine and freshly baked tarts. But the boy couldn't leave his caramel apple that never seemed to get any smaller after biting it. It was hot in the ballroom. The clear windows were edge and covered with icy snow, but inside there is a furnace... It was a wonderful dream. Young Horston Cresley wasn't in bitter chill in his hole under the shack anymore, or so he thought . In his sleep, Horston felt warm, yet the ice was crusting his face. "Boy?" It said in a high, whistling voice. "Boy?" Horston groaned and crawled out of his hole. "What'd you want sir?" "Are spider webs a treat from sure you came?" the sneaky man spoke. "Who are you sir?" "Shouldn't I ask you the same question?" To Horston surprise, the man extended his hand. Horston was unsure, but his mother once told him that it would be rude to refuse gestures that welcome you. Sticking out a hand of his own, he accepted the man's hand as he stood. "My name is Vur Greedwood. Happy to meet your acquaintance". "Say, do you want go somewhere, fun?" The man smiled at Horston. "Sure!" Houston said weakly, feeling like he is still in a dream. "My name is Horston Cresley." "I thank you for telling me your name, Horston," Vur said warmly, and without releasing the boy's hand, he led him towards the shadows of the crypt that leads to a beaming light. Little did he know that by midday, he would no longer be sleeping in his hole.
