I'm thinking abt that pretty fall leaves embroidery pattern post and about how like... it is categorically a repost, it's a reupload. right? a thing that is generally disliked. but because it's credited, it's genuinely boosting the artist in question. and it could ALWAYS be like this. reposting content could ALWAYS be a symbiotic relationship, but because sourcing back to the original creator of something is so uncommon, it's just easier to ask people not to repost it at all. and people still don't understand the difference. or they'll go to the effort of cropping out usernames/signatures to repost something, which is More Effort than literally crediting the creator of something you liked enough to want to repost. Like. I literally don't actually care if my own shit gets reposted, you have to understand. I just don't want it STOLEN. But "do not repost" is easier to write on my art than "you can repost this, but don't alter the image/remove my signature, don't you dare write 'credit goes to the artist' because that is not credit, please link back to my original post or someplace that you can actually find me. please use an actual link/url instead of writing a non-clickable link of my username, because making it text instead of a clickable link cuts the number of people who will go to the effort of visiting my own page in Half." All those aggregate themed accounts, those fuckin annoying as hell instagrams and facebook groups that are like "body positive art we love wamen hashtag feminism" and then MASS-STEAL plus sized art created by women, if pages like these that always go and steal my older self-portraits and other works... If they just put a link to my prints of those pieces in the text of those posts, or, fuck, my commission info page? I would literally be living on the moon right now. I would have a house on the moon
#there is actually nothing morally wrong with running an account that just reuploads ppl's artwork or their jokes or their cosplays#if you just put a VISIBLE LINK in the description of your post with proper credit then it would be beneficial for everyone#because you can get your little clout or whatever it is you want by putting a bunch of same-category content on a page#but nobody's getting fucked over because if your post blows up then people just get FUNNELED to the source#because it's placed so plainly where everyone can see it#and yeah it's better to retweet or reblog but#on the rare occasion that I see my shit reuploaded on tumblr WHICH IS WEIRD BC I MAKE MY OWN POSTS HERE but anyway#someone making their own post where they upload my stuff. and it's always the floral self portraits so let's say it's a post with all those#if I scroll to the bottom and it says like. Artwork by Serglesinner on Twitter <-- clickable link [Sergle's Prints] <-- clickable link#to my etsy#I'm like oh okay and all the anger leaves my body and I'm like ah I see. and I toss the rock aside#like oh okay so you actually care that a person made these pieces. Instead of posting the caption ''women <3'' or smth#like you've GOTTA die if you do that. but if you just link back#or if you go to the effort of writing like a description with a BLURB? like it's a damn museum. like a light paragraph of info#about what the art is and who made it and their links#I am literally sucking you in a strange and peculiar manner. that is extremely helpful#and maybe other artists don't want this AT ALL and they'd rather people not reupload even if it is credited#but I feeeeeeeeel. like 99% of the time this would solve the issue#reposters could genuinely be helping ppl. sometimes the repost gets more traction than the real thing#as long as it credits the creator then that's an okay thing to happen!#that can land somebody a sale! a commission order! a new fan! A JOB#A JOB!!!!!!!!!!#sergle.txt#I didn't write this eloquently AT ALL what the fuck ever barkbarkbarkbark

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH + BAND OF BROTHERS:
ANTONIO C. "TONY" GARCIA
Born October 15th, 1924, in Inez, Texas
Died August 18th, 2005 (age 80), in Burlingame, California
Tony Garcia was born in Texas but he grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming. His parents were from Mexico and had immigrated separately into the States. Tony and his siblings grew up speaking English and Spanish. He decided to drop out of high school in order to enlist, and even borrowed a friend's prescription medicine to cover up a heart murmur for his Army physical. He was accepted for training in 1943, and he served a Technician 5th Grade with Easy Company from Holland all the way through the end of the war. After the war, Tony returned to Cheyenne where he finished high school, then he moved to San Francisco, working and attending college. Later, he met his wife, Nancy, and started a family. They were married nearly 60 years, and had four children together. When he wasn’t working at the department store warehouse which he managed for three decades, he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, dancing, and reading. He was described as a kind, generous, and gentle man, with a “playful sense of humor that belied his quiet demeanor.” The Band of Brothers series bible describes him as “very gung-ho and game” and a “family man and extremely compassionate.” He kept in touch with several of his friends from Easy, and he participated in many Easy Company reunions and events in the U.S. and in Europe. His family has said that he was very reluctant to talk about his combat experiences, but he did like to talk about the people he met, and the families who helped him. Appears in Episodes 3-5 and 7-10, portrayed by actor Douglas Spain

ANSWERED: Art credit for da first Ren meme goes to @meo-eiru!!
BUT HELPPPPP THESE ARE SO FUNNY JDSGJH T_T The Moth meme + Uno meme had me CACKLING lmaoooooooo
#This has been happening a lot recently (and is by no means directed to OP) but!! Just a reminder to credit artists if you use their art!!#And it's always better to ask for permission beforehand; some artists don't like havin their art shared / reposted / reuploaded / etc.#They put in effort to create content for you to consume; so it's only fair to give them da proper credit and exposure in return!!#''Credits to the original creator'' and ''I found the image on google / pinterest / etc.'' isn't a good enough excuse >.<#If you can't find the creator; don't share it. And at the very least try to reverse image search to locate the source#But!!!! With all that being said:#Everyone is welcome to use the official 14DWY sprites/game assets without asking for my permission or giving credit!#I personally think it's ok because game assets can be found /within/ the game itself; it's not like folks have to go on a search hunt--#--to find a specific artist. They can find the art/asset within the game without having to do the extra steps.#If that makes any sense??#Like the 14DWY style is fairly recognisable if you're familiar with the game; folks don't need to reverse image search for anything.#Anyways I'm done ranting in da tags#I might make this an actual post in the future because; again; this has been happening a lot recently in the 14dwy tag/my askbox#and all these talented artists don't deserve this ;n;#Plus it shouldn't be my job to be the one giving credit..... T_T /lh /nm#OKOK I'm done for realsies now#Thank you OP for making these memes!! And sorry for ranting on what's supposed to be a lighthearted post dghjdgjhsg ^^;#💜 — 14dwy memes.#💌 — answered.#💖 — 14 days with queue.

if someone is inspired by how you draw eyes or face shapes, or fabric folds, and they incorporate that into their style practice is that stealing from you and makes you uncomfortable? i know different artists have different boundaries and id like to stay within yours! so sorry that people have been copying you so much
no this is fine, especially since I myself draw eyes and faces and such in a variety of ways ^_^ and even then it wouldn't look exactly like "mine".
I wish there was a way to beam what I'm trying to get across into everyone's minds... I am not going to come after you for drawing mushroom eyes or wide headed funny snouted beasts or whatever...
Being super inspired by others is a Good Thing, I "steal" from others to get a better understanding of art all the time, I sift through the little things and details I like and feed them to my own work, where it's swallowed up and absorbed into its body and output, because you have to try really hard to do complete and direct emulation of somebody else's work, and most of the time that's not what people do or even want to do, at least not long term. Which is also kind of my point!
(In fact I've also seen lots of ppl heavily inspired by me (<- this is fine, we're mutuals or they literally told me about it) who have art better than mine like DAMN wtf did you need me for 😭 good for them good for them.
I've also had people apologize for stealing my style and then I look at their art and I don't see it at all bc everyone draws different and has their own brain that sees the world differently...its literally ok. This is how art is Made. If "cheye's" eyes and face shapes and folds, cobbled together from many before him, get you further into your own art and joy of it then make it so)

okay i was gonna rb a post with tags about this but i felt mean doing it because it is not just one person saying this but i've seen so many people saying it and i have to make the correction. the heart killers IS NOT AN ADAPTION OF 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU. point blank period, it is not. i know jojo wore the shirt when the trailer dropped, i know he quote tweeted a tweet talking about it, i know he loves the movie, but objectively speaking it is not a 10 things adaptation. jojo himself CALLED IT a shakespeare adaption and it is VERY OBVIOUSLY more based on taming of the shrew than it is 10 things. i can count on one hand the amount of parallels and direct references that there have been to 10 things in the show, whereas there have been DOZENS of DIRECT and EXPLICIT references to taming of the shrew, as well as many smaller and subtle references. this is not a "based on based on" situation. it is based on taming of the shrew, point blank period.

A recent discussion between me and @sicklyseraphnsuch made me realize Betty never saw Simon go fully mad. He had a major outburst due to the crown and she got scared but never fully left.
Betty never got to witness Simon completely lose himself like Marcy did. She only saw him start to slip and then met him as the Ice King. Even when she came to the future she interacted with Simon before he immediately turned back into IK. No slow decent into madness, no witnessing the man she once loved slip away. Just a complete transformation in her eyes.
If she had witnessed what Marcelin did, I feel like the way she went about things would be different. Maybe she’d let go. But in hers eyes, Simon never slipped away from her he was just taken. Of course she would think under that viewing that she could get him back a lot easier than she came to realize.
