Fae Realm Crusaders

This fic has means a lot to me because the plot and title for it were prompted to me by one if not the most important person in my life.

It was published as part of @crack-in-the-chassis 2024.

The story is an adventurous tale of unicorn-pegasus!Sam and unicorn-pegasus!Dean trapped in Oberon's fae realm, not remembering they were hunters much less meant to be human.

Castiel finds them and slowly works through much angst, hurt and comfort battling giant spiders, evading and collaborating with dragons and fighting aerial battels with Oberon's forces to bring both Sam and Dean back home safely. To the bunker where they belong on earth; saving people, hunting things.

Art for this was made by the talented https://www.tumblr.com/free-to-be-impaled who took it upon themselves to draw horses for the first time.

There are mild wincestiel undertones in this fic but the ship is not the main focus of the story, the plot is.

In the Woods somewhere there is a creature. A creature that lures people deep in the forest. Sam Winchester, Dean's ill, little brother follows the temptation and it changes his and his brother's life forever. If you want to see what happens with the brothers later and also reading about one of the most interesting entity in the forest, than you should definitely check out Rebirth from @thisisapaige on AO3.

Not just the brothers but I was also lured in by this mysterious creature of the woods. I loved everything about it/him (?) and loved the idea of it being actually the forest. As someone who lives in the northern hemisfere and saw these kinda forests it was fascinating to learn how diverse they could be depending on the exact location. I was looking for plants, animals and fungi and chosen a lot of them to build up Castiel's character. One of the first reason to claim this fic, beside obviously the awesome story, was the opportunity to draw Castiel with flowers and moss. :D On the second art you can see one of my favourite characters of this fic, the little will'o'wisp.

whenever i see images from the casino scene in the trap, all i can think of is sam in an 80s-style off-the-shoulder oversized shirt, sitting all sad in his bed, moping and writing in his diary about what a jerk god is and how much he reminds him of his dad and how even the guy that created everything in the universe thinks he's a weirdo freak
