Here’s another amazing human and community leader I was missing at Creating Change this year. The incredible, inspirational, trailblazing, funny, smart and just wonderful Monica Roberts. Sadly, Monica passed away this year. So even when we return in person, she will not be there. Or at least not in the physical sense, because certainly her impact and her indomitable spirit will live on to impact all of for many years to come. This was the last time I saw her. Though I think of her often. I just spent the weekend participating in the Creating Change conference which has gone, like everything else, virtual this year! And it was amazing!! But I found myself deeply missing all of the serendipitous connections I made last year. Meeting so many friends and comrades. Both old and new. And yes, when we all return in person, those connections will happen again. Here’s a photo from last year of two of my absolute favourite old friend and comrades! Together!
