Chapter 6: Adjustments..
Flashback: August 27th, 2025, Various Times
The doctor’s voice echoed softly in Liv’s ears as she stared at the ultrasound screen. “Congratulations, Liv. It’s a girl.” Her heart swelled, and tears pricked her eyes. A baby girl. She laughed through her tears, holding the ultrasound photo in her hands like it was the most precious treasure in the world.
Driving home, she couldn’t stop thinking about Rhea’s reaction. Rhea, who had been her rock, her cheerleader, her sister in every way but blood. She’d laugh and say something like, “She’s gonna have your sass, Liv.”
Pulling into the parking lot of her favorite smoothie shop, Liv took out her phone to call Rhea. Her thumb hovered over Rhea’s name when her phone buzzed with an incoming call from Trinity.
“Hey, Trin!” Liv greeted cheerily. “You’re not gonna believe this. I’m having a girl!”
Trinity’s voice came through choked with tears. “Liv… it’s Rhea. She’s… she’s been kidnapped.”
Liv’s smile faded instantly. “What?” she whispered, gripping the steering wheel so hard her knuckles turned white. “What did you just say?”
“She’s gone,” Trinity sobbed. “Someone took her.”
“No,” Liv said, her voice breaking. “No, this isn’t real. Tell me this isn’t real.” Her breath quickened, panic taking over as her mind raced. “Who… how could this happen?”
Liv’s vision blurred with tears as she broke down, dropping her phone onto the passenger seat. She leaned forward, resting her head against the steering wheel, sobbing uncontrollably.
She fumbled for her phone and called Dominik. He answered immediately, his voice calm until he heard hers. “Dom,” she cried, “it’s Rhea. She’s gone… they took her.”
“What? What are you talking about?” Dominik asked, alarmed.
“She’s gone!” Liv shouted through her tears. “How do we… what do we do? How are we supposed to live without her?”
Dominik tried to console her, his own voice shaking. “Liv, listen to me. We’ll figure this out. We’ll get her back. She’s strong, okay? She’s not giving up, and neither are we.”
Finn grunted as he pushed the barbell back onto the rack, wiping sweat from his forehead. The gym was nearly empty, save for a few people scattered around. He sat on the bench, catching his breath, when his phone buzzed. Dominik’s name flashed on the screen.
“Dom,” Finn answered, grabbing his water bottle. “What’s up?”
“Finn…” Dominik’s voice cracked. “It’s Rhea. She’s been kidnapped.”
Finn froze, the water bottle slipping from his hand and rolling onto the floor. “What the hell are you talking about?”
“I’m serious,” Dominik said, his voice trembling. “Trinity just called. Someone took her.”
“No, no, no,” Finn muttered, shaking his head as his chest tightened. “This can’t be real. Rhea… she’s not…” His voice trailed off, his mind racing with disbelief and dread.
“I don’t know what to do,” Dominik admitted, his voice breaking.
Finn stood abruptly, pacing the gym floor as his heart pounded. “We have to do something. We can’t just sit here!” His voice grew louder, drawing the attention of a few others in the gym.
He ended the call and sank onto the bench, burying his face in his hands. Memories of Rhea flashed through his mind—her laugh, her strength, the way she’d always been there for him. And now, she was gone.
The restaurant was dimly lit, the soft hum of conversation and clinking silverware creating a peaceful atmosphere. Damian reached across the table to take Kayden’s hand, smiling at her as they shared a quiet moment.
His phone buzzed, and he glanced at the screen. “It’s Trinity,” he said, answering. “Hey, Trin—”
The look on his face changed instantly, his expression crumbling as Trinity’s panicked voice filled his ear. “No,” Damian said, his voice trembling. “No, this can’t be true.”
Kayden watched him, her brow furrowed in concern. “What’s wrong?” she asked softly.
Damian’s hand shook as he set the phone down. “It’s Rhea. She’s been kidnapped.”
Kayden’s eyes widened, her hand flying to her mouth. Damian’s shoulders began to shake as he tried to hold back tears, but the weight of the news was too much. He buried his face in his hands, sobbing at the table.
Kayden stood, moving to his side and wrapping her arms around him. “We need to go home,” she whispered, her own voice trembling. “We’ll figure this out together.”
Joseph and Almia sat on the couch, their two toddlers giggling as they watched Bluey on the TV. Almia leaned against Joseph, laughing softly at their sons’ reactions to the show.
Joseph’s phone buzzed on the coffee table, and he picked it up, seeing Jon’s name. “Hey, Jon. What’s up?”
The smile on his face disappeared as Jon’s frantic words reached him. “What?” Joseph said, his voice low and disbelieving. “No… Jon, that isn’t true.”
Almia turned to him, her smile fading. “What’s wrong?”
Joseph hung up, his hand shaking as he looked at her. “It’s Rhea. Someone took her.”
Almia gasped, her eyes filling with tears. “Oh my God… Joseph, no.”
Their toddlers looked up, sensing the shift in the room. “Mommy? Daddy?” one of them asked.
Joseph pulled Almia into his arms as she began to cry, the weight of the news settling over them like a dark cloud.
Joe and Galina watched their kids play in the sand, their laughter blending with the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. It was a rare moment of peace for their busy family.
Joe’s phone rang, and he answered it, hearing Jon’s voice on the other end. “Jon? What’s going on?”
Galina noticed the change in his expression immediately. Joe’s face went pale, his jaw tightening as he listened. “Kidnapped?” he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper. “How could this happen?”
“What is it?” Galina asked, her heart sinking.
Joe ended the call and turned to her, his eyes filled with pain. “It’s Rhea. Someone took her.”
Galina’s hand flew to her chest as tears welled in her eyes. Their children’s laughter faded into the background as Joe pulled her close, their shared grief weighing heavily between them.
Dahlia lay on the hospital bed, wincing as the nurse adjusted the monitor strapped to her belly. Isayah sat beside her, holding her hand and murmuring words of encouragement.
Dahlia’s phone buzzed on the bedside table, and Isayah answered it. “Hello?”
Trinity’s frantic voice came through. “Isayah, it’s Rhea. She’s been kidnapped.”
Isayah froze, his grip tightening on Dahlia’s hand. “What? Are you serious?”
Dahlia looked at him, her heart racing. “What is it? What’s wrong?”
Isayah’s voice broke as he relayed the news. “It’s Rhea. Someone took her.”
Dahlia’s face crumpled, and she began to sob, clutching her belly as fear and heartbreak overwhelmed her. Isayah wrapped his arms around her, trying to stay strong, but his own tears fell as he whispered, “We’re going to get through this. I promise.”
Flashback: September 5th, 2025
Talisua moved quietly down the hall toward the nursery, her maternal instincts kicking in. As she entered the room, she was greeted by the soft glow of the morning sunlight filtering through the curtains. Baby Jeyson lay peacefully in his crib, his tiny chest rising and falling with each breath. Talisua approached him with a tender smile, gently adjusting his blanket.
But her focus quickly shifted to the state of the room. She scanned the space with a critical eye, checking the changing table, the supply of diapers, and the organization of baby bottles and formula. The formula dispenser was neatly placed, but she noticed a few bottles needed cleaning. She made mental notes to tidy up the area further.
Opening the closet, she examined Jeyson’s clothes. Everything seemed in order, but she began folding and organizing the outfits to ensure they looked pristine and accessible. She glanced at the small bookshelf by the crib, where a few baby books and toys were haphazardly stacked, and began arranging them neatly.
“If CPS shows up,” Talisua muttered to herself, “they’ll see this baby has everything he needs—and more. No one will question Jeyson’s care.”
She paused, brushing her hand gently across Jeyson’s head. “You’re going to be okay, little one,” she whispered. “Your grandparents are here now.”
Meanwhile, Solofa made his way to one of the guest bedrooms. The second he opened the door, the overwhelming sight of destruction hit him like a wave. The room was in utter chaos—torn posters of Rhea’s different eras were scattered across the floor, some shredded beyond recognition. The nightstand was smashed against the wall, drawers hanging off their hinges. Blood spattered the walls and furniture, a grim reminder of Jey’s emotional breakdown.
Solofa let out a heavy sigh, his shoulders sagging as he surveyed the damage. He didn’t say a word, but the weight of what his son was going through pressed down on him. Shaking his head, he turned and walked toward the hall closet, searching for cleaning supplies.
A few minutes later, he returned with a mop, a bucket, a spray bottle, and a trash bag. He rolled up his sleeves, his movements deliberate. “One step at a time,” he murmured.
Solofa began by picking up the broken pieces of the nightstand and placing them in the trash bag. He worked quietly, methodically, as if each piece he discarded symbolized a bit of the pain he was helping to clear away.
Next, he turned his attention to the posters. He carefully gathered the torn fragments, some of them stuck to the wall with bits of tape. When he came across a piece of a poster with Rhea’s face, he paused, staring at it for a long moment. “Jey…” he said under his breath, his voice heavy with sorrow.
He placed the pieces in the bag and moved to clean the bloodstains. Using the spray bottle and a rag, he scrubbed at the walls and furniture, the dried blood fading slowly with each pass.
Despite the physical effort, Solofa didn’t stop. His resolve was unshakable. This wasn’t just about cleaning a room—it was about restoring a sense of order, of normalcy, to a house that had been consumed by chaos.
As he worked, Talisua appeared in the doorway, holding a neatly folded blanket. She watched him in silence for a moment, her heart breaking at the sight of her husband laboring so tirelessly for their son.
“Need a hand?” she finally asked.
Solofa glanced over his shoulder, offering her a faint smile. “I’ve got this,” he said. “You focus on Jeyson. I’ll handle this mess.”
Talisua nodded, stepping into the room to place the blanket on the bed. “You’re a good father,” she said softly.
Solofa paused, his hand resting on the mop handle. He looked at her, his expression weary but determined. “I’m just doing what needs to be done,” he replied. “For Jey. For all of us.”
Talisua placed a comforting hand on his shoulder before turning to leave. Solofa resumed his work, his movements steady and purposeful. As he cleaned, a quiet strength radiated from him—a reminder that even in the darkest times, the bonds of family could hold everything together.
Hours passed, and Solofa worked tirelessly, moving from one room to another. He wiped away stains, adjusted furniture, and restored a semblance of order to the home. Despite the weight of the task, he remained focused, driven by a deep sense of duty to his family.
Eventually, Solofa reached the master bedroom. He opened the door slowly, stepping in with quiet care. Jey lay sprawled across the bed, unconscious from the sedative. His chest rose and fell steadily, but the sight of his bandaged hands and arms tugged at Solofa’s heart. He stood in silence for a moment, the weight of his son’s pain heavy in the air.
Determined to keep moving, Solofa began tidying the room. He folded clothes, cleared away debris, and straightened the nightstand. As he reached for a discarded shirt on the floor, his eyes caught something unusual—a bloodied iPhone lying face down near the bed.
Picking it up cautiously, Solofa turned the device over in his hand. The cracked screen was smeared with dried blood, a reminder of Jey’s recent anguish. Solofa frowned, wiping the phone gently with a cloth before plugging it into a nearby charger.
Moments later, the phone powered on, and notifications flooded the screen—text messages, missed calls, and voicemails. Solofa’s brows furrowed as he scrolled through the endless stream of names and numbers. Many were from family and friends offering support, but one message stood out.
It was from Takecia, Jey’s ex-wife. The message, sent the night before, read:
“I’m worried about you. Jeyce and Jaciyah are worried about you. Please call me.”
Solofa stared at the message for a long moment, his mind racing. He set the phone down carefully, his thoughts turning to Jey’s two sons. With a heavy sigh, he left the room and headed downstairs, the phone’s notifications still buzzing faintly behind him.
Once in the living room, Solofa pulled out his own phone and dialed Takecia’s number. The line rang twice before she picked up.
“Solofa,” Takecia’s voice was cautious but concerned. “Is Jey okay?”
Solofa took a deep breath, his tone calm but firm. “Takecia, it’s been a tough time. Jey’s not in a good place right now, and Talisua and I have moved in temporarily to help stabilize things. But I need to ask you for a favor.”
“What kind of favor?” she asked, her voice softening.
“I need you to keep Jeyce and Jaciyah at your apartment for a while,” Solofa explained. “The house isn’t a good environment for them right now. They need peace and stability, and I know you can give them that.”
Takecia hesitated. “I’ve been worried about them too. They keep asking about their dad, and I didn’t know how to explain what’s happening.”
“They don’t need to know all the details,” Solofa said gently. “Just let them know their dad loves them and that he’s trying to get better. This isn’t permanent—it’s just until we can get things under control here.”
There was a pause on the other end of the line before Takecia finally replied, “Okay, I’ll keep them here with me. But please, Solofa, keep me updated. I care about Jey, even if we’re not together anymore.”
“I will,” Solofa promised. “Thank you, Takecia. You’re doing the right thing for the boys.”
After ending the call, Solofa sank into the couch, rubbing his temples. He glanced around the living room, his mind filled with thoughts of Jey, the boys, and the enormous task of holding the family together.
Talisua appeared in the doorway, her expression concerned. “Everything okay?”
Solofa nodded slowly. “I spoke to Takecia. She’s going to keep the boys with her for now.”
Talisua sighed with relief. “That’s good. They don’t need to be here in the middle of all this.”
“No, they don’t,” Solofa agreed. He leaned back, exhaustion settling into his bones. “But we’ll get through this. For Jey. For the kids. For all of them.”
Talisua sat beside him, resting a comforting hand on his shoulder. Together, they sat in silence, the weight of their responsibilities heavy but shared.
Later, Jey’s voice echoed through the house, hoarse and desperate. “Jeyson! Where’s my son?!”
Solofa and Talisua exchanged a worried glance from the living room, where Talisua was rocking baby Jeyson against her chest. The infant stirred, letting out a soft whimper, as if sensing the tension.
Solofa stood up, his calm, steady voice carrying through the house. “Son, we’re here. It’s okay.”
Heavy footsteps thundered down the stairs as Jey appeared, his chest heaving and his eyes wide with panic. His gaze landed on Talisua and Jeyson, and relief flooded his face, though it quickly turned to confusion.
“When did you get here?” he asked, his voice cracking.
“A few hours ago,” Solofa replied, stepping toward his son. “We’ve been here, taking care of him while you rested.”
Jey’s shoulders sagged, and he slowly made his way to the couch, collapsing onto it. His bandaged hands rested on his knees, trembling slightly. He swallowed hard, his eyes locked on Jeyson. “Can I have my son, please?”
Talisua hesitated, glancing at Solofa. “Are you sure?” she asked gently. Her voice was filled with concern as her eyes flicked to Jey’s hands, wrapped in thick white bandages from the wounds he had inflicted during his violent outbursts. “Your hands… are you sure you’re ready?”
Jey closed his eyes for a moment, as if trying to gather his strength. When he opened them, they were filled with determination and heartbreak. “I’m fine,” he said firmly. “Please… I need to hold my son.”
Talisua watched him carefully for a moment before nodding. She stood, cradling Jeyson close to her chest as she crossed the room. The baby stirred again, letting out a soft cry as if unsure of the change. Talisua leaned down and gently placed him in Jey’s arms.
Jey’s hands trembled as he adjusted Jeyson, his bandages grazing the soft fabric of the baby’s onesie. “Hey, little man,” Jey whispered, his voice breaking. Tears filled his eyes as he held his son close, pressing his forehead to Jeyson’s. “Daddy’s here.”
Jeyson let out a tiny coo, his small hand reaching up and brushing against Jey’s cheek. The simple gesture shattered what was left of Jey’s composure. He broke down, silent tears streaming down his face as he clutched his son tightly.
Solofa sat beside him, placing a firm hand on Jey’s shoulder. “We’re here, son,” he said softly. “You’re not alone in this.”
Jey nodded, his gaze never leaving Jeyson. “I just… I don’t know how to do this without her,” he whispered, his voice trembling. “He needs her… and I do too.”
Talisua knelt in front of him, reaching out to stroke his face. “You’re doing it, Jey. Right now. You’re holding him, and you’re loving him. That’s what he needs.”
For a moment, the room was silent except for Jeyson’s soft coos and the sound of Jey’s shaky breaths. Solofa and Talisua stayed close, their presence grounding him as he held onto the one piece of Rhea he still had.
“Any updates?” Jey asked suddenly, his voice breaking with a fragile hope.
Talisua’s face fell, and she exchanged a glance with Solofa. “They are going to find her, Jey,” Solofa said firmly. “They will bring her home. But right now, you need to focus on staying strong for Jeyson.”
Jey nodded, though his heart felt like it was breaking all over again. He kissed the top of Jeyson’s head, his tears soaking into the baby’s soft hair. “I’ll be strong,” he murmured. “For you, little man. And for her.”
Talisua squeezed Jey’s knee reassuringly. “We’ll get through this. As a family.”
Jey looked up at his parents, the weight of their support settling over him like a safety net.
Meanwhile, Liv sat in her bedroom, the room dark except for the soft glow of her phone screen. Her swollen belly rested against her knees as she curled up on the edge of the bed, the weight of her emotions pressing down on her. She scrolled aimlessly through her photo gallery, each image of her and Rhea pulling her deeper into her grief.
Picture after picture appeared: them backstage at events, laughing in matching outfits, a candid shot of Rhea sticking her tongue out while Liv rolled her eyes playfully. Each memory felt like a stab to the heart.
A video suddenly popped up in the gallery, and before Liv could stop it, it began to play automatically.
Rhea’s voice filled the silent room, warm and full of life. “And here’s the other pregnant queen!”
Liv’s breath hitched as the video played, her teary eyes fixed on the screen. She recognized the setting immediately: Rhea’s baby shower. The two of them were wearing light blue satin pajamas, a deliberate choice Rhea had insisted on, calling it their “pregnancy sisterhood uniform.”
In the video, Liv laughed, holding a plate of chocolate-dipped banana pieces. “Ugh, give me the camera and let’s show you for once,” Liv said, her voice tinged with playful annoyance. She reached for the phone, the image on the screen wobbling for a moment before focusing on Rhea.
Rhea stood with one hand on her rounded belly, her face glowing with happiness. She gave the camera an exaggerated eye-roll. “Look at how she’s gonna pop!” Liv teased from behind the lens.
“It’s Jey’s fault,” Rhea quipped with a sly grin, her hand absently rubbing her belly.
Liv’s laugh echoed in the video, but in her bedroom, there was only silence. She watched as the camera lingered on Rhea’s radiant face, her easy laughter, the way she carried herself with so much joy and confidence.
As the video progressed, Liv’s tears fell uncontrollably. She clutched the phone tightly, as though it were the only connection she had left to Rhea. The sound of Rhea’s voice filled every corner of the room, bringing both comfort and unbearable pain.
When the video ended, Liv stared at the still frame, her thumb hovering over the replay button. Her sobs broke through the silence, her shoulders shaking as she pressed a hand to her mouth, trying to muffle the sound.
“Rhea,” she whispered brokenly. “You have to come back. You have to. Who else is gonna call me ‘the other pregnant queen’? Who’s gonna…” Her words were swallowed by another wave of tears.
She set the phone down gently on the nightstand, the still image of Rhea frozen on the screen. Liv wrapped her arms around her belly protectively, as though shielding her unborn daughter from the pain she couldn’t contain.
For a long time, Liv sat there, her mind replaying memories of Rhea over and over. It felt like the world had stopped, like nothing else mattered but bringing Rhea home.
Finally, she reached for her phone again and opened the video. Her thumb hovered over the replay button. With a shaky breath, she pressed it, letting Rhea’s voice fill the room once more.

The Frat Boy Days - The Bad Batch Workout Split
Hi everyone! I've created a "Frat Boy Days" edition to follow up my first Clone Force 99 Workout Program. This one includes a day for Echo :) I'm also working on a 501st split; but it's taking a while longer to develop, so stay tuned! I wrote more on the fictional side too, so we get a little more insight on how the squad works together in the gym, how they approach the weights, and what their favorite things are. I hope you enjoy! I had a lot of fun with this.

Wrecker - Quads and Calves
Wrecker outlifts everyone in the squad, for obvious reasons, but his squat and deadlift abilities outshine most large species in the galaxy. It can be challenging to have a lifting buddy that will always be stronger, but Wrecker lifts up the people around him and encourages them to push their limits. It doesn’t matter if he already got his workout in for the day or if he’s busy, he’ll always drop what he’s doing to accompany a squad-mate or friend in the gym.
Warm Up
Wrecker likes to get his blood moving and warm up on the treadmill. He’ll sport gigantic hoodies and sweatpants, often throwing the hood up to keep his head warm too. Often giddy, he’ll use the treadmill next to Tech or Echo for great conversation.
10 minutes walking on treadmill
Pre-Exhaust
The pre-exhaust set is one of Wrecker’s favorites of the day because it warms the body to be more explosive. The purpose of a pre-exhaust set(s) is to bring blood flow to the muscle you’re targeting during the workout session. This will help you target that muscle better (that mind-muscle connection Tech goes on about) throughout the session and warm the muscle for better performance. 
Leg Extension - 2 sets of 20
Core
After your muscles are warmed, it’s time to put them to work. Wrecker focuses up and pops a few pieces of sour gummy candies for a quick carbohydrate source. Just like defusing a bomb, Wrecker recommends that you work methodically and safely. Double-check your stance, don’t work with a weight that is too heavy, and make sure you’re warm. He bundles up in a hoodie to sweat through to stay warm. If he starts to overheat, he’ll throw that sweaty pump cover at Crosshair as a joke, but we all know Crosshair loathes it. 
Wrecker recommends that you pick a weight that you can lift comfortably, but will begin to safely struggle through the 10th rep. It’s okay if you struggle around rep 8, just make sure you can re-rack the weight safely. Wrecker also enjoys lowering the weight down slowly and EXPLODING upwards.
Barbell Squats: 3 sets of 8-10
Superset: Leg Press (Narrow Stance) + Leg Press (Calf Raise): 3 sets of 10-12
Hack Squat (Or Goblet Squat if Hack Squat machine is unavailable): 3 sets of 8-10
Finisher 
Wrecker loves how his legs feel like jelly after the core portion of the workout. Now, it’s time to finish up with a circuit of bodyweight exercises (but Wrecker usually adds weight because he eats pain for breakfast). 
Repeat circuit 3 times:
Walking Lunges: 16 reps
Squat Jump: 8 reps
Side Lunge Stretch: 6 reps

Crosshair - Push
Crosshair’s tendencies to push people away translate quite well to traditional push days in the gym. He pictures the weight coming down on him like Wrecker coming in for a hug and the intense strength to push the weight away flows through Crosshair naturally. Crosshair prefers to work with the smith machine because he doesn’t love asking a squad-mate to spot him, but Tech often inserts himself to spot and info-dump at Crosshair as he works through his sets. Tech’s endless banter frustrates him, but Crosshair knows he can lift heavier with the one-sided conversation in the background.
Warm Up
Crosshair doesn’t enjoy warming up, but he knows it’s healthier. He’s had that lecture from Tech, and Wrecker, and Hunter, and Echo, so he just grits his toothpick and gets through a quick warmup before hitting the weights.

Arm circles 2 sets of 20
Pre-Exhaust
Similar to pinpointing a target in your scope before pulling the trigger, your pre-exhaust set should target the muscle before hitting the core section of the workout. Crosshair recommends to really squeeze the pectoral muscles during the chest flys to increase blood flow. The increased blood flow will help you focus on the pectorals during the core exercises.
Chest Fly - 2 sets of 15
Core
Crosshair says to keep your chest proud and pronated as you push the weights upward. Before you grab heavier weights, slow your motion downwards, squeeze the muscles in use, and pause at the bottom/top. This will make each movement more effective and keep your joints healthier. Being the marksman that he is, he’ll record each weight and reps that he achieves to push himself the next time he’s in the gym.
Incline Bench Press - 3 sets of 8-10
Bench Press - 3 sets of 8-10
Shoulder Press -3 sets of 8-10
Superset: Delt Raise + Front Raise - 3 sets of 10-12 
Cable Tricep Pull-down - 3 sets 10-12
Finisher
Being the soldier he is, Crosshair enjoys pushups. Being lean and strong, Crosshair can crank out nearly 70-100 reps before he fails each set, but he doesn’t expect that many reps from anyone else because he believes he is superior. In the years after the Republic fell, he has been much more understanding that anyone daring to push to failure is admirable.
Pushups - 3 sets until failure
Crosshair’s bonus tip: Once you’ve pushed yourself to failure on pushups, move to performing pushups on your knees and work until failure.

Tech - Glutes and Hamstrings 
Similar to Wrecker, Tech never skips leg day. Tech says to use this exercise to not only warm up the muscle, but to also deepen your stretch. Using the weight to help pull your muscle (safely), you’ll be able to lift heavier later more safely.

Tech’s deadlift form is perfect. His main key points are to place your feet shoulder-width apart, pull your shoulders back, and push through your heels as you stand. If you choose to wear a belt, remember that its main purpose is for you to push against with your core as you activate your abdominal muscles. 
Traditional Deadlift - 3 sets of 8-10
Romanian Deadlift - 3 sets of 8-10 Tech recommends to move down slowly and only go up 80% of the way to keep tension on your glutes and hamstrings for the entire set.
Bulgarian Split Squats - 3 sets of 10-12 Tech says to set yourself up parallel to a mirror so you can check to see that the working leg is bending to a 90-degree angle. The 90-degree angle will keep your knee joints safe and target the muscles more effectively. Ensure that your knee does not extend past your foot as you squat down. If the Bulgarian Split Squat is too difficult, a regular split squat will work fine, but be sure to check the angle of your leg.
Sitting Hamstring Curl - 3 sets of 8-10
Finisher
Tech enjoys a challenge after a hard leg day. He’ll take his time with these lunges; meaning he’ll do 10, take a breather and check his data pad, then bang out 12 more, and so on. He knows that the lactic acid buildup the lunges trigger is painful, but he pushes through. Tech says that pushing yourself through painful and tough situations primes your body to push through tough situations when your squad depends on it.

Hunter - Pull 
Hunter loves his back days because he can put in his headphones and listen to his “dad rock” without any flack from his brothers. He’ll often pick a time he can go alone because back day doesn’t require any spotting help. He loves his squad, but taking some time to pull away and sort through thoughts and physically work through things is a highlight of his week.
Warm Up
While Hunter is on the treadmill, he’ll build out his playlist for the workout and set his intentions. As a master of visualization, he’ll visualize which muscles he’ll be focusing on and succeeding throughout the workout.

Pre-Exhaust
In Hunter’s opinion, there’s not a better way to get a pump on than hashing through a few sets of pull ups. Hunter will typically warm up with his bodyweight, but isn’t opposed to adding weight. For beginners, he recommends using the assisted pull up machine and working towards failure, even as a warm up. He’s… intense.
Assisted Pull Ups - 2 sets till failure 
Core
Hunter is all about controlling the weight and not letting it control you. Slow your reps down and create that mind-muscle connection with the different muscles in your back. Squeeze your shoulder blades together like they need to pinch a vibroblade knife between them on each rep. Keep a proud chest, embrace the burn, and use lifting straps if needed. Hunter prioritizes building forearm strength, but he knows his forearm/grip strength will fail before his lats do.

Cable Wide Row - 3 sets 10-12
Cable Narrow Row - 3 10-12
Cable Face Pull 3 sets - 10-12
Hammer Curls - 3 sets of 8-10
Finisher
Hunter hits his core after each back workout. His upper body pump afterwards is so intense, he struggles to get his armor to fit. He knows he should just order slightly larger armor from the Republic armory, but he silently loves the feeling. We think only Tech has noticed and he rolls his eyes at the situation and doesn’t give it too much thought.

Echo - Shoulders & Arms
Traditional gym and cable machine work has been much easier since Tech developed a few skonk attachments for Echo. Echo’s physical limitations do not limit him on the field nor in the gym. His strength to pull himself up, run, and carry go beyond expectation, but Echo never looks at it that way. He just does what is necessary to get the job done.
Warm Up
If arriving at the gym with the squad, Echo will often find a treadmill next to Tech or Wrecker to chat about the day. He finds their conversations to be soothing and then he’ll feel more positive when heading into lifts.

Echo’s workout today will focus on shoulders and arms. While shrugs are considered more of a back movement, he finds warming up his upper back and focusing on pulling with his shoulders is his favorite movement to warm up.

Echo has been into supersets (performing one exercise after another in a circuit) lately because they “echo” opposing muscle groups in the same set. He also finds supersets to be very efficient and loves the pump effect it creates, especially in the arms.

A master of climbing, even with a skonk, Echo will perform chin ups (and sometimes pull ups) until failure and then hang until his grip strength fails. He’ll repeat this exercise 3 to 5 times, nearly daily. He knows it burns, but he says it’s important to build up this strength so you have it when your life depends on it.

4 Exercises That Target the Inner Chest
The inner chest area can be difficult to isolate and build, but it’s not impossible with the right movements and technique. Here are some exercises to train your pectoral muscles and inner chest.

Dumbbell Chest Fly
This is a classic movement and has been a staple in weightlifting routines for generations. That’s because it’s effective! You’ll need to have a strong position on the bench, keeping your core and glutes engaged.
With your feet firmly planted on the floor, press your dumbbells straight up. They should be above your chest at the top of the lift. Next, lower the weights to your sides. Keep your elbows bent slightly. You should only move your shoulder joint, keeping your shoulders engaged. Stop when you feel a slight stretch in your chest. This is the bottom of the movement. Fly the weight back up to the starting position by squeezing your chest. Don’t go overboard on the weight, and instead focus on smooth, controlled movements for maximum effect.
Plate Squeeze Press
This movement might not seem super challenging, but you’ll start to feel the burn after just a few reps. Head to your favorite gyms in Fairfield and take two plates off the rack. They don’t need to be heavy. Even just 10-pound plates work well. The key is to squeeze them together with open palms during this exercise, which helps work your inner chest along with your forearms.

Kneel down and press the plates together. Keep your abs tight and press outwards, like you’re doing a close-grip bench press, for two reps. Then, slightly angle your forearms upward and do another two reps. Do three or four pairs of reps for three sets.
Incline Bench Press
The incline bench press works your shoulders, triceps, and, importantly, your upper chest. Set the bench so it’s inclined between 30 and 45 degrees. This helps shift the focus from the middle and lower chest to the upper chest.
After that, it’s a fairly basic bench press, with your hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart on the barbell. Lift it off the rack, keep your elbows tucked in as you lower it slowly to your chest, and extend it back to the starting position. You can also do this movement with dumbbells.
Bear Plank Chest Press
The bear plank chest press can be done with resistance bands or a cable machine at one of the best gyms in Modesto, Sacramento, Salinas, or across California.

Start in the bear plank position, knees slightly off the ground. This already creates tension in your core, glutes, and quads, and this exercise is a lesson in total body tension. Your abs will really have to fire, and you should feel the movement in your chest. Do three sets of eight to 10 reps per side.
