I don't post much about pro wrestling on here but it's legit one of my favorite things, so I thought I'd share my MyRise (story mode) characters for WWE 2K24

under see more because the pictures are vertical and shit

First is Luka That, he's a technical wrestler from Nevada, he uses a Michinoku Driver as his finisher, and an Ankle Lock as his signature.

He only has one attire because this one took ages to make.

This is 'Primetime' Amber Morales (a name I made by actually looking at the names the ring announcer can read, unlike Luka, who the announcers call Luke Thee). She's a striker from Arizona, she uses a Running Back Elbow as her finisher, and a Clothesline From Hell as her signature.

She actually got a second attire because her attires are much simpler.

If anyone's interested, I might put the two of them up on Community Creations at some point.

So I put the power of friendship and impractical outfits into Metroid Dread. No suits, no shields: we die in a giant laser hand cannon fight like true warriors.

#raven beak #chozo #a lot of effort for a bit #i thought back to that one piece i did a few years ago where i put raven beak in bikini armor and i said #'wouldn't it be funny to see him actually fight in something like that?'#because as we all know exposed flesh in combat is very humorous when large guns that shoot beams are involved #and then my train of thought fell to 'wouldn't it be funny if Samus was covered more than Raven Beak is'#'to subvert the sexy outfits thing a little bit but also drive home the 'god-emperor of Chozo Victoria's Secret' look he has going for him'#So the original sketch was created July 21 2023. And I redid it on April 10 2024.#and built Raven Beak bulky like a pro wrestler to really drive home the drama/hamminess of the situation but also to make him look stronger #my outfit design continues to be lacking but my commitment to the bit remains unmatched #... it's also so much easier to draw silly bikini armor that makes no sense than it is to put characters in regular clothes. or armor.#if you want a 'lore justification' for the lack of armor let's just say Raven Beak doesn't need the suit to be powerful.#and Samus is about to demonstrate that he has sorely underestimated her. by a mile. or a kilometer.#anyways the differences in their outfits match their upbringing and general philosophy #Samus opts for the more practical leotard offering her mobility and lightweight motion #Raven Beak guns for the full regalia that shows off as much muscle as possible while not skipping out on symbols of rank #and he NEVER leaves home without a cape #the cape is a must if shoulder-mounted black hole generators aren't available.

#wrasslin #before anyone can come at me with pitchforks over this... im gonna bring my indonesian card and say how i have one or two ppl i know who #actually went there as a migrant worker and know what its like to be there (spoiler alert it sucks)#being a woman is already hard imagine having your employer as the only person you know in your entire country and youre literallt #reliant on them for housing and food. also there are cases where some families withheld passports from migrant domestic workers #and as a muslim i dont like how the saudi arabia gov have been commercializing the mecca pilgrimage so much #that being said the boycott and backlash on the existence of crown jewel itself is silly #because wwe have been doing shows like tribute to the troops for decades without ppl crying abt it #at best you get a handful of ppl sneering at it but theres no boycott campaigns #despite that tribute to troops is explicitly an event created after 2003 to bolster public support and the morale of the military for #invading iraq and afghanistan. the babyfaces even in the modern era would give a shout out and praise the military #and like. i dont think wrestlers at crown jewel had to say ksa was awesome. they just have to shut up and wrestle #so like. tell me. how is showing up for a match at saudi arabia is a political act while starring in an event or a movie that directly #depicts the military as a force of good is politically neutral?#i can probably word this better but yknow *shrugs*

I'm very pleased with how elegantly 'Godzilla Minus One' solves The Godzilla Problem. I've only ever seen American Godzilla movies before, and while they're okay dumb action flicks, they have the following fatal flaw:

Movie: Hey, look at these sadsack loser characters. Wouldn't their lives be so much more awesome with a Godzilla in it? Me: Yes! Yes they would! Incidentally, why are you wasting my time with these boring people and not showing me Godzilla?

Whereas Minus One does the following:

Movie: Hey, look at this sadsack loser character. He's turning his life around and really getting a good thing going. Good for him. It would be a real shame if a Godzilla were to come along and wreck it all up! Me: Oh, no! Not a Godzilla!

I might have to watch more Godzilla movies and see how frequent this is.

#it probably also helps that i saw it in imax #and got my tickets for free #but mostly it's because the story actually creates tension around godzilla appearing #you know #treating him like a monster #and not your favorite wrestler
