no one asked, but I’ve been thinking a lot about the albatross and its placement on the bargaining playlist. I have come to the conclusion that the song serves as a warning to anyone who tries to avoid/‘imprison’ her. this man was told that she would kill his garden, tempt him, and eventually destroy him. she was a wild wind instead of a normal, harmless rose. yet, he could neither avoid her nor lock her away in a tower. he was too drunk to think his decision through (‘cross your thoughtless heart / only liquor anoints you’). he chose her despite all the warnings he received. he shot all the messengers who tried to persuade him. he couldn’t fully commit to being with her, either, so he locked her away in a tower. ultimately, she was the only one who could protect him from the same men who once condemned her. he chose to be subjected to that danger by being with her (‘the rain is always gonna come if you’re standing with me’ —> ‘I’m the life you chose, and all this terrible danger’). the two characters in the song seem to finally be at peace. however, the outro switches to third person and makes it clear that she will, in fact, destroy him. she is the albatross in his life. he will wear her around his neck forever. he could try to bargain with her all he wants, but he was delusional to think this would end any other way. she is both the angel and the devil in his life. she could protect him from the media attention she subjected him to, but she could simultaneously destroy him by feeding into the rain of fire through her songwriting.

Guys. Guys. Hear me out. This reset was planned since the beginning of the server. Since the beginning of everything.

There was a person on twt that has been making theories since the firsts months of the qsmp, and theorized that the island is an time loop and after reaching a certain point it restarts again, but the story repeats itself with changes on the plot caused on what they learn on the previous resets, as the purpose of the federation says: to make the island perfect. The old buildings at the beginning of the server, the diaries and entries found by Cellbit, the resistance, everything is designed and supposed to happen again and again and again.

Now, I know that things have been difficult for everyone in this past months, but I believe that this was the original plan of the server until the idea got distorted in the way (the situation with the admins that managed the server, the egg event that extended for almost a year, miscommunication, etc), and know that its know the new admins running Quackity Studios are people really passionated with the project I believe that they would want to bring again the original plans that were done for the server but they were never able to do for different reasons (hopefully the horror is back again! :D)

But I'm really faithful about this changes, and I DO believe this is not something that was planned in a rush and this is something that was put on the table years ago when qsmp was only especulation, it's just sad that things developed in the way they did but hey, the important thing is to learn from the mistakes in order to have better results in the future, and I hope this new start just bring good things for everyone, we really need it :,)

Their escape had been miraculous in more ways than one. The fact Professor Hojo's swarm of workers hadn't sniffed out Faz's escape plan, the fact Faz himself hadn't intercepted them in their desperate run from the Sector 4 container yard, the fact they skirted detection long enough to be welcomed into the home of Elmyra Gainsborough for a short respite.

Truthfully, much of that evening had been spent confiding her sorry tale to Elmyra. Without her painkillers there would have been little sleep regardless.

The following morning, Elmyra disappeared for a time. Nervous that she had decided to approach Shinra with information about the escapees in her home, Ifalna prepared for a discreet departure... only to meet Elmyra herself at the doorstep. She gifted them an adventure fund, she called it, when the reality was she had gifted them a future.

Elmyra went on to help them through to Sector 6, where a discreet crack in the wall acted as a funnel for thugs and other such ruffians to transport illicit goods into Midgar's metal dome. She asked if they were going to be alright on their own. Ifalna replied they had to be. Aerith promised to write to her every single day.

Part of their good luck stemmed from Shinra's own war. The ongoing conflict in Wutai meant most resources had been pulled from the undercity. What was once a densely guarded, or monitored population had been all but left to their own devices.

As with all good luck though, it was bound to run out. That was what Ifalna believed when she and her daughter came face to face with someone in Shinra attire on the other side of the wall. She froze upon seeing him — her fear plain to see as she gripped onto Aerith's shoulders and pulled her in close. This was tragically unfair.

"My darling..." she spoke quietly to Aerith. Her fingers tightened a little more, though her grip was weak. She was a frail husk of what she had once been, so much life had been robbed of her. The command lingered on her tongue, to make her daughter run back to the kindly woman.
