Various themes include: music, goth vibes, weed, Halloween, cryptids, aliens, flowers, sarcasm, pizza, dinosaurs, llamas, succulents, axolotls, fall vibes, food, chronic illness/chronic pain and various quotes/memes derived from my struggles with being disabled, depression, black/dark humor, cats, psychedelic vibes, fuzzy blankets/stuffed animals, and whatever else my little brain desires that day. But I can also customize for that person.

Craft Buddy Disney 100 years of Wonder crystal art book and stickers

Yay! My order from the craft buddy shop – http://craftbuddyshop.com – came in the mail. It only took 5 days to arrive from the UK 🇬🇧 so that was awesome! I can’t wait to get started on these and try to collect more Sticker album I bought 4 sticker packs and each pack contains 3 stickers randomly selected stickers. Very pleased to have finished this in time for the S7 premier this week.

Part 2: A Dream of an Autumn Garden

A few more photos of Mr. Morpheus, continuing from my post here!

As I said on the other photoset, I'm very happy & proud of him! I'm happy I decided to take my time to get him just how I wanted & edit the photos I took nicely. I hope you all love him too. Sweet dreams~

I have included a bunch of Cool Facts about how I made him under the cut if you are so inclined!

Started: Late Jan 2022 / Finished: Dec 30 2022

Approx work hours- 273 hours (worked on average every 3rd day out of 274 days; averaged 3h/session)

Times I remade something because I messed it up/wasn't happy with it: Hands- 2; Feet- 2; Head- 2.5; Body- 1; Clothes: 3

Pattern: trial, error & determination

Height: 3ft tall

Materials:

stretch jersey knit (body)

polyfill (stuffing)

brushed out acrylic yarn (hair)

star sapphire x2 (eyes)

pipe cleaner (hand armature)

wooden dowels/18 gauge wire (elbow/arm skeleton that keeps snapping I may add)

acrylic paint/pastels (shading & details)

acrylic thread (body sculpting & upper eyelashes)

stretch velvet/velvet burnout, cotton (clothes)

Fun facts:

his look was inspired by his overall appearance in the comics; I particularily like the depictions done by Jill Thompson, Mike Dringenberg & Marc Hempel!

his arms and legs are jointed in the same way as many teddy bears are: you use a washer, nut & bolt to butt-up the limb against the body internally and it gives the limbs full rotation. First time I have tried the method and it's definitely something I'll try again!

I had no idea how I was going to do the inset eyes, but I was determined to have them as some sort of stone. I had to redo his first head completely because I cut too far in! Eventually I got it to work by creating a "backcushion" with clay for the stones, and then closed and sculpted the eyelids overtop to secure them in.

You can't see in most of my photos but his eyes are star sapphire: when light hits them correctly, it causes a ✨to appear just like his eyes in the comics~!

making his hand & feet were a challenge, especially thinking about where to put the needle through to sculpt tendons, nails, etc (and also deciding how detailed to get without looking strange). I think I learned a lot tho and I'm very proud of the hands

my favorite sculpted parts are the collar bone/chest, the right hand & the nose~

because the skin is white, he gets very dirty with his black clothes, so I had to line all of them in white. He also has to soak in bleach once in a while to maintain his complexion (LOL)

In a new post episode interview Ryan used gender neutral language when talking about future relationships (partner, themselves, they/them) and now they’re latching on to this, plus him suggesting something about repressed emotions in season 8 under Gerard to mean gay/queer Eddie awakening (all while being homophobic as fuck to the canon gay man and queer couple).

yeah, because only queer people are allowed to be gender neutral while talking about their significant other, not like we're trying to normalize that behaviour, not like having straight people also use it means queer people aren't automatically outed when speaking about their significant other

Didn’t realise how long it had been since I shared a progress shot!

NGL….the S6 finale kind of broke me. Not in a good way. In the way that meant I had to step out of the fandom (and this project) for a few months.

The S7 teaser however has me back in a somewhat optimistic and enthusiastic mood, so I am now determined to get this finished before then!

Saw people getting build a bear versions of Buck and since we don't have that here where I live, I decided to make my own. I have sewn in magnets into their paws so they can hold hands.

the rituals of the couch and kitchen scenes are so damn intricate. i cannot express to you how much those two scenes say even in just the tiniest of things. the storytelling is outstanding because somehow they manage to perfectly balance the overwhelmingly obvious with the stunningly subtle. you have the smack in the face of the couch metaphor and the outright punch of the shooting mention. but then you have these tiny little moments that show just how well buck and eddie know each other, how deep their relationship is, how much it exists offscreen in the onscreen moments. because you have buck who barely ever sets boundaries for himself, walks into the diaz house with one clear boundary and eddie doesn't cross it until he has explicit permission because he gives buck control in the same way that buck allows him to let go of control. buck, the guy who is terrified of being too much shows up at eddie's doorstep unannounced, the guy who's terrified of being left walks into a house without even waiting for his welcome, the guy who is always performing for others sitting down on a couch and letting it all drift away. and it has eddie not just allowing him to do this but indulging it because he's been making sure buck knows he can do this since season three !! (i'm not really a guest) !! not only this but when he wakes up there's no apology, he just seeks eddie out. then you have the intricacies of their care for each other. it shows us buck, the guy who hates to be a burden, letting eddie take care of him and how eddie will let buck decide how he's allowed to take care of him. we've seen time and time again that buck knows when to push with eddie, and there's an element of that here with the question about the shooting, but more than that, we see that eddie knows when to wait buck out. and it shows that buck trusts that eddie will not only face up to something that big for him, but will do so in a way to give buck hope. and in turn eddie trusts buck to let him take his time with it and treat it gently. the rituals !! they're so intricate !!!
