I'm so tired of seeing takes about U.S. politics from people who lack understanding about how the branches of government, the electoral college, and redistricting work and affect us. Please return to high school Civics, I am begging you.

#just as an example because i've been seeing takes about this:#no biden cannot do anything about roe v. wade #he cannot issue an executive order (executive orders must be based in pre-existing law)#he can propose and promote and sign federal legislation but he cannot pass it singlehandedly #that job belongs to congress #rinse and repeat ad nauseum for other issues #we have fucking checks and balances #crack open a damn civic literacy book. order the ap gov textbook from amazon if you feel so moved.#just learn something before you say something stupid
