fjord: if you don’t come underwater with us…..idk maybe you won’t get a cut of the loot, that could happen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
jester: nott. I understand if you don’t want to come with us, but you saved my life before and I don’t feel as comfortable down there if you aren’t with us
nott: fjord you could learn a thing or two from jester. she looks into people’s hearts, makes them feel seen. and you? you are just a BASTARD MAN

Talking about the series for Campaign 2 is hard. We have some idea as to what to expect based on the first two seasons of TLOVM. But...we don't know if things will change for the animated show between then and now.
As of this post, there's a lot we can't even guess.
For instance, we don't know if the show will keep the attention it's gotten by this point. Or if it'll lose some. Or if it will gain some.
But if TLOVM stays in the place it's at or even gains momentum, the Nein might receive more time and resources to tell their story. That would be awesome. But unfortunately, we can't count on it. So it's fun to try and think of compelling ways to play out scenes or get ideas across with as little time and resources as possible.
In that vein, I like the idea of Yasha just showing up with armfuls of flowers over the first couple of seasons.
No explanation is given. There's no real focus on them or her. She just....randomly sometimes has her arms full of flowers. Or maybe a few in her hair. Or both.
When it comes time for Yasha to finally tell the story of Zuala, before it even starts, have some wildflowers in her hair where the camera can see them. Then play the last part of Ashley's narration over a montage.
Like so:
Yasha: I don't know if my heart could ever be healed, but I'm okay with that.
(Yasha poking around in a forest, picking blossoms from trees and scaring the woodland creatures away.)
Yasha: I feel like if it were put back together then that means Zuala would be gone.
(Inadvertently intimidating a florist into just shoving a free bouquet into her arms.)
Yasha: I know one day I want to go back there.
(Popping up from off-screen and under some tall grass with a tiny wildflower in between her fingers.)
Yasha: I don't know where she was buried,
(Holding out a handful of wild roses to show Molly as he gets exasperated over the state of her hands, bleeding from the thorns.)
(Shot of Yasha's face, again, the flowers clearly visible in her hair: the audience realizing she's been wearing her wife's story the whole time.)
Yasha: But I have so many flowers to bring her.

I’m still not a huge fan of the conversation where Fjord gets all the blame for touching the red gem like all of them haven’t done stupid shit before and Beau is the only one I like in that scene because she’s the only one who admits that.
Also, please don’t take this as me being like, “Wow, everyone else sucks” except they do all kind of suck in this moment. Just for understandable reasons.

You know what I think about a lot?
Ashley's face when Matt explains Yasha's visions of Zuala. Like, she didn't have to look heartbroken, yet there she is, having a perfect reaction

Niiiiine things I noted about CR2E46 “A Storm of Memories” (no Talks Machina) :
I love how Matthew makes the characters feel the passage of time and the consequences of their actions. This is just only the most recent example : after 7 days litterally out the world, the small murmur of an attack underground in the Empire is sure a return to the reality that for now, they really went around the war, but that war may soon get them.
The quiet sadness and fear of Yasha describing the fact that the Mighty Nein maybe abandonned her, when they suddenly disappeared inside the Happy Fun Ball.
How to say hello to bees, by Jester : "Hello, beeeeeeeees !"
Huh. Eiselcross. That rings a bell. Just a little one. I don't remember, I must have seen a spoiler about it. For now, it's just a fact that Caleb found in a book, but I'm pretty sure that word will become important. So yeah normally I don't like being spoiled, except !! when it's shit like this that makes you go 'Huh.'
My brain at the second half : "Yasha ! Backstory ! YASHA !! BACKSTORY !!"
The lightning and sound effects were great. And I say this as a watcher of campaign 3 where they know have litterally a sound system and light effects made by entertainment professionals. But even in campaign 2 in episodes like this you can see the ambition of Matt's dream.
"I have so many flowers to bring to her." Oh, my heart. What a line. What a scene. What a backstory. Somehow the saddest of them all ?????
Nott, to Fjord, after Jester convinced her to go with them underwater because she feels safer with Nott at her side in battle : "Fjord, you have a thing or two to learn from Jester about talking to people and engaging them on a personal level ! She has the expert touch. She gets people, she sees into their hearts and souls ! You... are just a bastard man."
That cute moment when Laura and Taliesin started to murmur-sing "You can call me Al" (this song is so good)

Second piece I made for the Taste PMV project! This time it’s a scene from Campaign 2 Episode 46, where Yasha talks about her past with our two beloved clerics.
Check the replies for links to the project and the speedpaint for this piece! (Trying to cheat out the fact that tumblr does not like links on posts)

People have been noting that Jester's advice to Beau about forgiveness is coming from a place of naivety and lack of experience with abuse and while I think that is the case, I think it may also come from conversations she and Beau have had in the past about their pasts.
I'm specifically thinking of episode 46's ship conversation when Beau checks in with Jester after their first trip to the HFB and the conversation gets into the topic of their past when Beau reveals her lonely childhood to Jester. Beau says "In my loneliness, I got angry and turned to bad things. But in your loneliness, you turned to creativity and I think that's beautiful." Given that Beau talks about that anger and that period of her life with seeming regret, I think that it makes sense that Jester would advise her towards forgiveness and toward letting go of that anger to some degree and freeing herself from that burden, or poison as Jester puts it.
I'm not necessarily advocating for Beau to forgive them at all or what forgiveness should look like, but I remembered that conversation from the ship and thought there was an interesting thread there.

Had a hard time puzzling out his behavior until I read this but yeah he's trying to distance himself and get himself back on track for his Big Plans. Shit.
i gotta say, this whole ep caleb has been so quiet and the way he speaks is noticeably reminding me of the first few eps of the campaign when he didn’t know the mighty nein yet, and that is some 👌 character work even though it hurts me emotionally

CR2E46
Everyone except Caleb: Hey Fjord, you just compulsively touched a thing and it got kinda crazy, what was that about?
Fjord: How was I supposed to know what would happen? I just wanted to see what it was like!
Table banters about it for a minute
Caleb, softly: Hey so uhm, I’m not good at being muscle but the thing I am good at is making sure that kind of thing is safe, maybe you could let me look around before exploring weird stuff like that?
Fjord, immediately: Yeah sure of course that’s reasonable sure yep
