Incredibly honored to be considered for Yellow thoughts and input! I love yapping about Yellow <3

unfortunately I am not really very well versed in or experienced with symbolism in general, and am especially lacking in knowledge on flower and plant symbolism,, so idk how much I can really add

I did do a quick google on daffodils tho, and I'm seeing a lot of results saying they represent hope and rebirth and new beginnings. So ofc my brain has immediately run off sprinting in a random direction with that. So. Just gonna. Ramble about that while I'm here in case it's at all helpful

'cus something that represents "hope" and "new beginnings" being used a representation for Yellow?? kinda fascinating when thinking about how and why Yellow first appeared in the story. Because like, that's exactly what Yellow was supposed to be for Arthur, to be a new John, restarting from the beginning but still back safe with Arthur! A new and different, but still there, beacon of hope for Arthur in dealing with whatever followed. But that's also pretty solidly not what Yellow ends up actually being to Arthur. I feel like the contrast there could be used to do something pretty interesting somehow

Guys guys guys I’m working on my John, Yellow, and KiY designs rn, and while I have the symbols I want to use for John, I can’t decide what to do for Yellow and KiY when it comes to plant symbolism (John has fire lilies and French marigolds so I figured I should continue with the flower/plant motifs through all of them, specifically KiY as a pest of some sort?? Yellow needs a flower though). I was thinking of daffodils for Yellow but idkkk- I know you Yellow Yappers (ngl, looking at you, @if-loki-was-a-fox lol) are out there and I beg for your help. Also any other silly design ideas appreciated!

#maybe having them specifically tied to the moments where Yellow and Arthur are trying to get along and extending olive branches #but then replace or subvert them for the “I am a big scary god you pathetic worm” moments?#maybe also having something representing power or regality or. idk repression or deception or manipulation or cruelty #or maybe that would be better for KiY #or maybe it would be interesting to have yellow intentionally draw on KiY's flowers when being all king-mode-ish #not entirely sure what the context for using the symbolism is so not entirely sure what tricks and such are available for using them #bonus thought I had while thinking about this:#maybe something could also be done with some sort of strangling vine in regards to Yellow and Arthur's relationship?#rhyme is alway ranting about the morning glory in our yard #so that's where some of my strongest plant associations come from #and where my mind immediately goes thinking about this stuff #and kinda yellow's whole thing is being a john who wasn't given the room and support and flexibility to grow #my brain is basically playing word associated rn #pinging things around at random #just me chatting #rambling about blorbos #yellow malevolent #cpuld there be something interesting to do with sunflowers in regarss to yellow and john's relationship to arthur #the way they both kinda look to arthur as the center of their worlds #yellow's blatant obsession with what arthur thinks of them and why doesn't arthur love them?? why does arthur love john????#and ofc john's looking to arthur for hope and guidance and being so curious about and invested in doing everything arthur does #with how sunflowers are known to face the sun and all #something something john and arthur as two sunflowers facing each other because they think each other is the sun #hm. I actually have more ideas and dormant thoughts about flower symbolism than I thoight it turns out #not really sure where any of this has come from #or if any of it makes any sense #but I'm having fun thinking about it! so!#what is a flow that's seen as a weed but is actually nice #that could be good for yellow #yellow = dandelion perhaps?
