Kisses Prompts Response #1
Some 94 years ago @damnitfili requested the following prompt: #75 / Kisses Meant To Distract The Other Person From Whatever They Were Intently Doing for Spellbound birbs in the Kisses Prompts Thing.
Sorry it took me so long. I still have other prompts and I’m working on them.
---
Fili is fishing.
It’s his latest strategy that has the two of them standing halfway up to their shins in the cool waters of the stream - allegedly an improvement on the fishing pole method.
That Fili is naked is a bonus. He’s never been self-conscious around Kili before and he’s unlikely to start now. They know each other’s bodies too well for false modesty.
If Kili is honest, it’s one of the reasons why he wades in after his Princeling at all. That, and because he’s looking forward to seeing Fili pull the fish out of the stream with his bare hands, like he’s insisting he will.
Having been brought up as a warrior and the Defender of the Realm, Fili has got the sort of reflexes that would put most hunters to shame, but fish, in their usual fishy way, are slippery. Kili could probably shoot them at point blank with little effort, but this is Fili’s little moment of glory, so instead Kili contents himself with passing the time raking his eyes up and down Fili’s body.
And those lips.
Fili licks them unconsciously, poised perfectly to strike, focussed and patient like only Fili can be.
Clearly a little sabotage is in order.
The move to stand behind Fili is almost too easy: he’s pre-occupied and he doesn’t perceive Kili being in his blind spot as a threat. Nor does he react at Kili’s hands coming to rest on top of his hips: after all, that is exactly where Kili’s hands belong. Proximity too, is only welcome and familiar, never cause for alarm.
Kili presses a lingering kiss to the side of his neck, trails his lips purposefully along the line of Fili’s beard, where he knows Fili’s skin to be sensitive.
“Kili. I’m trying to fish.”
“Mhm.” Kili agrees, eyeing the glimmering water between his Princeling’s feet. “Oh, is that a trout? Never mind, he’s gone!”
Fili huffs, but allows Kili to get away with his antics, determined perhaps to show that he will not be so easily distracted.
Ooooh, it’s a game now, and one that Kili is going immensely enjoy winning.
He nibbles on Fili’s ear next, sucks on the delicate flesh of his lobe and revels in a startled, sharp inhale that gets him.
“Bluegill!” he points out helpfully, just as Fili’s involuntary twitch at the low whisper right in his ear sends the fish scarpering from the vicinity of his left ankle.
“Kili!”
“I’m only trying to help!” the Witch protests his innocence. “It’s not my fault you keep letting them get away!”
Fili half-twists to send him an incredulous look and no doubt tell him off, but they never do learn what the Prince was going to say. Kili sees his chance and he takes it, sealing Fili’s lips in a passionate kiss, complete with pulling him close and wrapping his arms around him.
“Do you want to eat tonight or not?!” Fili growls, but he’s betrayed when his mouth chases Kili’s instead of trying to pull away.
Ah, but that would be too easy and too soon.
So instead Kili simply says: “Yes, that would be lovely,” and uses his hands to twist Fili bodily back into position.
There’s a little complaint about spoiled Witches and their wicked ways, but after a while his love goes back to staring intently at the water in front of him, leaving Kili free to focus on Fili’s broad shoulders, relatively pale still, but already covered in a delicate sprinkling of freckles. They say that freckles are just sun’s kisses and if they are, then Fili has been positively ravaged and by something other than Kili.
Which won’t do at all.
He’s just leaning in to do some remedial ravaging of his own when a movement catches his eye.
“Bass!”
Fili moves a split second before the first sound of Kili’s voice, but in quite an opposite direction, coming up fast as a lightning, brandishing a furiously wriggling fish, and clocking an unprepared Kili squarely in the face with the back of his head.
Teeth still ringing from the impact, Kili stumbles back unsteadily a couple of feet, tasting blood where he’s bit his tongue.
“Ow!”
If there was surprise on Fili’s face, it morphs into smug amusement, complete with those damn dimples, too fast for Kili to register.
“Serves you right for –“
The fish, another trout, Kili notices, decides to pick that particular moment in its bid for freedom, forcing Fili to juggle it awkwardly in the air and chase after it. For a moment it looks like they will go hungry after all, until Fili manages to grab it for long enough to effectively cuddle it to his chest.
“- trying to sabotage my tactic!” he finishes a little bit breathless, but by this point, it really is quite hard to take him seriously.
Kili sighs, in the most dramatic, forever-misunderstood way he can with a throbbing nose and a sore tongue.
But at least his Princeling will clearly need a bath after this little stunt, so perhaps not all hope is lost.
