i have to hope i do not ever get super good as an artist and have enough ppl enjoy my work that someone asks me "what influenced ur art style?" because how tf do i tell them its (currently) mainly a mixture of like five artists and a couple old storybooks I loved and read repeatedly as a kid and then most notably some plushies I find unironically charming

one of the artists doesn't exist online anymore (idk what happened, they just disappeared one day), but the other ones are catmask, coyoteprince, tacodemuerte, and grendel-menz

5. What piece of art are you still proud of to this day? (Show or describe)

HMM this one is probably the oldest drawing i have that i can still say i like. i drew this in high school like 12+ years ago holy shit but it's one of the few my dad has hanging up that i don't cringe at when i pass by lol

honorable mention goes to these arms in particular, from roughly the same time. the rest of the drawing is unimpressive but i wanted to give my boy Rafik some nice arms and by god i did it

20. What motivates/inspires you artistically? (topics, emotions, etc)

mostly worldbuilding, creating characters and creatures! i never stopped drawing since i was little but my primary motivation to really develop it as a skill from like age 10 onward was being able to draw the characters my friend and i made up. which remains the case to this day. it is soo fun exploring all the different concepts, themes, emotions, etc that interest and inspire me through my characters, their stories, and the settings i build for them. like having an eternal pot of stew on a fire and throwing everything i enjoy into it and seeing how it all cooks into something new

6) Currently I'm just really inspired by other independent artists! @psshaw , @grosskelly , @artsydudejude , @abby-howard , @possessedpasm , @everydaylouie , @dimetrodone , @quesadillawizard , @coyoteprince , @pixel-lightart , @turboemmy , and @zooophagous come to mind, as well as others. They've all got such rich, unique styles and subject matter that I could just get lost in and I encourage checking out their work, there's a lot to learn and appreciate.

9) Currently I'm trying to improve on my textures! I'd like to add some depth to my digital work, emulating traditional textures like inks, newsprints, and paints would be nice

14) Oh my art has changed wildly. Let me drag some older examples up...

These are just some examples of my stuff through the years- 2011-ish, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2020, and 2022 are the rough timestamps on here but I jumped around a lot stylistically, pulling from things I enjoyed, and I had a WEIRD period where my art morphed from this very simple style to something more animeesque to stylized realism (there was a SUPER ugly phase) etc until I finally got comfortable and frankly while I always have room for improvement I have had a lot of fun lately just experimenting with a lot of different styles, playing fast and loose with shapes and rendering, even if I'm not that consistent with what I put out currently. Never know what to expect what I feel like putting down! Simpler shape, stronger colors, and inkpens and stuff are my bread and putter currently. I'm trying to push my character designs and enjoy myself. Notably I also took FOREVER to get comfy with doing digital art really, until I learned a lot of tips and tricks and figured out what worked for me I hated rendering digitally most of the time, and I still do most of my sketches traditionally, but I'm getting more and more comfortable with my digital lineart and rendering mostly thanks to things like Artfight where I get to experiment a lot in a short amount of time!

This has also reminded me that I want to revisit more of those stylized full-page pieces I did in Highschool like the bird dragon thing above

8. what’s the most fun and the least fun parts about your process Lines are my fav! Doing flat colors for a piece I'm going to shade is my least fave and feels mostly pointless and boring.
