A Cowboy Cookout.

Benson; I have started to take an interest in where I live, and in particular, marking out where I live. Harvey has signaled to me that this is a very important job, and must be done thoroughly. 

Step 1. Sniff

Step 2. Position

Step 3. Lift Leg

Step 4. Mark

All territory must be covered, all hedges, each tree, in fact, every couple of yards, just to make sure.

I was doing pretty well until Harvey's Head got in the way just after step 3 

Back home, Two-Legs was muttering. I heard 'Bath-Time'  'Pee-on-the-head' and 'Now-we'll-be-late' Harvey shot upstairs as soon as he saw the blue gloves and towels (he knows so much more than me). Harvey was hiding under the bed, I don't think he likes baths much. So I had to go first, actually, I really like a bath, so it didn't bother me that much. Harvey eventually got caught, he smelt so much better afterwards.

So there we were all clean and blow-dried, when Two-Legs announced that we were going on a trip. Another adventure! 

We arrived, and jumped out of the car. This place had a big garden, with so many great new smells. One smell was very strong. A sweet, warm , mouthwatering smell, and it was coming from a big pot.I went to have a closer look, when...

"Whoa, who are you?"

 Rupert was his name. He was another young one.

I had been so focused on the lovely smell and Harvey was busy marking everything in sight, we hadn't noticed him. We all had a little sniff, just to say hello, and then Harvey and Rupert started to run and play. 

I still felt a little nervous being away from my new home. I was also cold, my coat was taking its time growing back so Two-Legs covered me with a blanket. Two-Legs said I looked like E.T. whoever that was, but I didn't care, I was warm and it was so much better.

Harvey and Rupert played. They played hard. Rolling around, in the dirt and dust. They chased each other all around the garden. Harvey kept coming up to me, I know he wanted me to play.

"Look at how much fun this is" he panted  "Help me catch Rupert"

They didn't stop.

All the time we were there.

I know, because I sat and watched.

Finally they stopped playing and it was time to go home, but Harvey didn't look like Harvey anymore. He was one color. Dirty brown color. He had no white color left. I don't think Two-Legs was impressed.

So guess who had to have another bath when we got back home...

Oh How I laughed...and laughed...and laughed!

Two-Legs; Every week Benson makes a little more progress. He is so much better now when we go out for walks. He stays by Harvey's side, sniffing and marking everything Harvey does, its such a pleasure to see them walking side by side, like brothers. He's eating really well, and we have also noticed how he is looking leaner and fitter. He runs now, not very fast, but he runs! He didn't play much with his new friend Rupert, but I think both Harvey and Rupert's playing was a little too much for him.

New overnight camp video is up on YouTube, link in my bio. This episode we spend the night at camp Beanie Weenies. We cooked cowboy style food and slept in hammocks, it was a cold damp night but still a fun time. This time I left my son at home as well as the dog.
