i missed #transcriptiontuesday again, but to be fair i was out of town all weekend and so getting back to my horn, here's a work-in-progress. a very cool version of 'chameleon' by @beatboxsax that is super challenging! i changed this to the original key from the headhunters recording since i'm on bari and the key he was in on tenor didn't fit the range too well.. this needs quite a bit of work. i'm learning so much about extended techniques here and i'm not even close to finished, but here's a slowed down, skeletal clip. this takes a lot of endurance and my TMJ wants to get the best of me, but steadily seeing improvement ^^; can't wait to finish, this one is slick! #chameleon #herbiehancock #headhunters #derekbrown #beatbox #beatboxsax

i’m late for #transcriptiontuesday but i wanted to start posting some things as i get my chops back into shape. it will help motivate me each week and hopefully help me overcome insecurities. ^^; this is a bird solo on a fun blues, “billie’s bounce.” it’s is far from perfect, but i’ve been working a lot on feel and getting better about my tonguing, as well as my overall tone, which is challenging with these softer reeds and more relaxed setup. enjoy. ✌️#bird #birdblues #billiesbounce #charlieparker
