I'm not usually impressed by novelisations of movies, but when I pulled my long-forgotten copy of "Moongirl" (2006) off the shelf this morning and started reading it again, I was struck by not just the loveliness of the story, adapted by Henry Selick from his award-winning short film, but by the way the narrative flow and illustrations by Courtney Booker and Peter Chan made it read like a movie on pages. "Moongirl" is a magical tale of flying through the night sky, adventure by firefly-light, and best, brave, furry friends.
