We stopped off in San Juan Del Sur for a few nights and were pleasantly surprised at this #colourful and #vibrant town. . . 🏖️There is so much to do here from canopy tours to learning about turtle breeding. 📷 Before our trek to Laguna 69 we were very sceptical about all the pictures we had seen which show such brightly coloured water... Well I'm pleased to report... it's all true! . 😍 This place needs no filters, it's absolutely stunning and totally worth the tough but beautiful 8km trek to get there . 🇵🇪 You can take this trek from Huaraz in the North of Peru. ☀️ It's a tough hike up (or an easier Moto taxi ride for 20,000COP) but the views from the hammocks at @casaelemento are totally worth the work! . . 👌 Can you even imagine what the sunset views are like up here? . . 💪The hike uphill takes around 3-4hrs and has stops at 2 beautiful water falls on the way . . 🚐 Minca takes less than an hour via collectivo and costs around 8000COP (£2). We spent some terrifying moments watching a group of boys flip backwards off wooden poles into the sea 😨 . . 🚌 Santa Marta is easily reachable by bus from Cartagena. First take a taxi/Uber/bus to the main bus station. 🚀 Follow @CoupleExplorers for more travel pics and information . . 🛃 When crossing the border from Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica to Panama you have to go over the Sixaola Bridge. We were expecting to be walking over this rickety old bridge but they have now built a new one which is a lot more sturdy. You still get to see this cool structure as you walk by. . . 🚕 Most people will head towards Bocas del Toro once they arrive in Panama and the shuttles are quite expensive but not necessary if you are on a budget. . . 🚌 The bus is half the price of the shuttle and super easy and surprisingly comfortable. Take the bus from just outside the supermarket to Changuinola and then take a second bus to Almirante. The beautifully clear waters are great for snorkelling and seeing them up close . . 🤓 Did you know, if a starfish loses a limb it can regenerate though the process can take up to a year . . 🏖️ Starfish Beach is free to visit and you can reach it by water taxi or by bus. Take the bus from the main park on Bocas del Toro island. This one was maybe a little more wobbly than I would have liked but has some great views . . ❇️ Entrance to Los Campesinos Reserve is $8 per person and includes this hanging bridge and 2 waterfalls that you can swim in . . 🚗 The best and easiest way to get here is by 4x4. If you're like us and don't have a ride it is still possible to visit but it takes a long time for a relatively small reserve . . 🚶We took a bus from Quepos to Londres which takes you as far as Posada Natura Hotel. Keep walking straight up the road for around 3km until you see a right turn with a sign for Los Campesinos. From here it's another 5km further to walk. So many different types of #hummingbird zooming around the feeders was an amazing sight to see. . . 🤠 The Hummingbird Gallery is just outside of #Monteverde reserve and it is free to visit! There is also a small shop and cafe and some great #free walking trails behind the gallery. . . 🚌 To get there, take the public bus from Santa Elena for C$800 (~£1) all the way to the reserve. You’ll never be short of something to do. . . 🏖️ If you're looking to get a little bit of not-too-strenuous exercise in San Juan Del Sur, then the Christ the Mercy statue is the perfect little hike for some great #views of the beach. . . 🚶Directions: Christ the Mercy is just a 30-40min walk from San Juan Del Sur centre. Just walk alongside/ on the beach towards the statue all the way to the end and find a path that goes through the hotels here. Once on the road you will see the signs pointing you in the right direction.
