Today on the 26th of April is the final day of being 26! It has been a challenging year from which I learned a lot about the fashion world which has been my dream to enter since age 7. Now fast forward since completing my degree in fashion design with knitwear at CSM and interning at Christian Dior Couture whilst Raf Simons was revolutionising the aesthetic of the majestic house. I was searching non-stop for that "dream job" I thought I wanted, I was on the competition treadmill until my health crushed, and I was diagnosed with CFS. I took a year out to recuperate to a pace I can do something again little by little. This relearning to live with limited energy forced me to analyse everything I do, cutting unnecessary activity out and really put myself rather than work first. Reconnecting with my values and happiness. I wanted to be a designer because I loved to create, but I was feeling exhausted from working overtime, to a limiting brief with little creative possibility or gratitude, little pay and little time to enjoy life and see friends and VIVRE! So now I am taking the risk in the name of my love for fashion! To build my own brand 💜#MaisonMagenta 💜 & to finance it myself through a part-time & freelance jobs not always in fashion. Because "It doesn't matter how slow one goes as long as one does not stop one will get there!" 💜💜💜 We only have one life and our own genius, let's do what we are best at and love! 💜 Who would have though I would be wearing wellies on the eve of my birthday 👢👢p.s. The Astor wing lends wellies to guests and I have quite enjoyed wearing them here! Perfect countryside attire to go with this Anne Boleyn bodice from my collection 🤗 •———————————————• Please take a moment to read this very insightful article on CFS and offer employees support💜 because when I tried to negotiate to work a 4 day week to manage my disability, I was told maybe I should not work in fashion... https://www.theguardian.com/society/2016/feb/15/it-was-like-being-buried-alive-victim-of-chronic-fatigue-syndrome •———————————————• #CFS #invisibleillness #bodice #wellies #textiles #heathershrubs #countryairdontcare #fashion #мода #mode #dior #csm (at Hever Castle & Gardens)
