I do because the least I can do is thank people who comments. But it's harder lately to find the energy so I take quite some time x'D

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angsties ending?

But we can't save you, hands down. It's the only one without any tidbit of hope at the end.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Oh that's way harder... I'll say it's The Promotion

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I'm too small and too niche a writer to get hate. The worst I got was someone deeply confused and disappointed by Try again. Which really is fair as hell since I went heavy on the meta stuff and games with the fourth wall there.

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?

I don't. Maybe one day I'll try but as of now I'm not particularly interested in it not do I know how I'll even write it.

10. Do you write cross overs? What's the craziest one you've written?

I don't but if I have a crossover idea one day, I'll absolutely go for it.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of.

14. What's your all time favorite ship?

I'm way too much of a multishipper to have an otp. I can be convinced for any and every ship with just a great fic or someone passionated enough about it. Even ships I wasn't particularly or at all interested in, or that I didn't even like at all at first. It happened many times already x'D

But lately I've been looking more for Fox/other clone(s). And my homemade rarepairs have a special place in my heart of course.

15. What's a WIP you'd like to finish but doubt you ever wilI?

My bigger, longer projets are going to be hard but I refuse to not finish them (even if I don't even have the first chapter finished for any of them TT^TT). So most likely Shebse batch real face. I think that one kinda burned on the back burner x'D if I get the motivation tho I would love to finish it.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I'm really bad at having an objective critical opinion on my skills but I really like how easily I can switch genres and writing styles.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Most likely passing. And well the longer the story, the harder it'll be to write for me, in general x'D that's when passing becomes difficult as well

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Here for it, absolutely. It gives lots of depth to worldbuilding. But translation is a must.

20. Favorite fic you've ever written?

Oh that's just evil. All of them are my babies !! But I'd say the Weaving like red strings series because it kinda became my comfort au to write in.

A very lengthy letter before the series' departure.

Hey, everyone, Hartley here.

By June of 2023, it would be my 4th year in the Hilda community, and i'm still in disbelief that i've been active in the community for this long, as well as the animated series is coming to an end tomorrow.

I have been wanting to post this since then, but i've been extremely busy in my life, as well as my personal computer was broken for almost an entire year - hence why my activity in the community also got died down a little bit.

I have a lot of things to say to everyone, from people in the community to the people who worked on the show, as well as the past, present and future, so for the convenience of your reading, i'll divide what i want to say into chapters.

I. About me & how i got into the show ( Trigger warning: Deaths ) I've rarely talked about this to anyone, but... I live by myself, and there's a good chance i might not be around for much longer. It's sort of the reason why i got into Hilda from the first place.

I first found out about Hilda in October 2018 when i was browsing on Tumblr, but never really watched it until May 2019, when a friend of mine gave me a month free subscription of Netflix. I started to go down the list of things i wanted to watch on the platform, and when it came to Hilda, i never thought i would get fixated on the show. Well, guess where we're at now?

I was stunned by the show's colorful vibes, amazing plot writing and how the show built the characters and mythologies, especially how they portrayed the mentality of the children in the show when the kids interact with each other or with adults.

The one thing that i also extremely adore in the show is the relationship between Hilda and Johanna... because it deeply reminds me of my parents when they were still alive. I had a similar life and relationship with them. Every time i see Hilda and her mum together, it always makes me remember about my former childhood life, how kind my parents were to me, and how i wanted to be the adventurous kid that never disappoints them.

I had a pretty good life until my parents got cancer when i was 11 years old - the same age with Hilda in first & possibly second season. Things got worse since then, and they passed away a few years after that.

Now i'm pretty much alone, with a good chance that i might follow them, so if i ever just disappear without telling anything, well... at least i had a good run, i never thought i'd make it this far anyway.

The show had made a significant change on my life, as well as some of my future decisions and helped me through hard times.

It would be an understatement to say this series meant a lot for me.

Because of this, and the feeling of the show doesn't get enough attention that it deserves, i've been dedicating myself for the last few years to help the show and its community thrive.

II. About the animated series Sometimes, i feel really sad that they couldn't have done more for it. - As someone who lives in Vietnam, it's really sad to see the show lacks Vietnamese subtitles and audio language - despite there being a huge number of Netflix users in the country. Due to this, the series basically got hidden from anyone who's watching with their Netflix's interface language set to Vietnamese, which makes the show really hard to be recommended to anyone here. At the same time, many other animated series on the platform have either or both of those. - A lot of merchandise of the franchise has either never saw the day or short-lived. Hilda's GUND plushies only lived for 1.5 years, and by my count, there were 3 Hilda board games that got reported to the news, but never got released. - Hilda video games. The only official Hilda game we ever got was Hilda Creatures, and sadly, the company that made the game went defunct in April 2022, dragging Hilda Creatures along with it. - Netflix. Batch releasing the show and giving it the bare minimum marketing. The same thing happened with Jojo and we all know what happened to its hype. - The mishandling of social media pages, which led to Hilda's Facebook page got hacked for an entire month during May 2023, as well as a lack of interaction posts after season 1 to keep the community up.

I really wish the show got better treatment in a lot of stuff, but at the same time, i'm grateful for the crew's work to get the series this far. One of the directors at one point confirmed that the show got pitched to various networks like Cartoon Network, Disney, Children BBC, Nick... and no one accepted the show until Netflix came along. If Netflix never took the show in, or if it was another network that got it ( which i suspect it'd change the direction of the show by a lot ), where would we be now...?

Though the show will definitely not be reminded by Netflix every now and then as other networks do, but at least it is going out with a bang. Really wish the show would become a sleeper hit at some point in the future.

III. About the community Genuinely, it's one of the most amazing communities i've ever been in. People who are younger, same age, or even parents who are much older than me... I had amazing experiences with all of them. I've made many friends from here, which sometimes makes me wish our community would stay the same like this forever after the series ends.

Honestly, i don't know what else i could say about everyone, other than thanking you guys for making my days within the community, as well as your efforts in making it an amazing place for me and everyone else to stay in.

IV. About the future Well, i've been thinking about it quite a lot.

After the animated series ends, i'll try my best to continue sticking around in the community and do a lot more stuff for it. The franchise will still seem to continue for at least some more time, with the upcoming release of the new prequel Hilda comic series, "Hilda and Twig".

I'd be selfish for saying this, but if the current state of animations improves in the future... I'd want to see Hilda's world return as animation at some point - either following the same blue-haired girl that we all know and love, or just a spin-off from an entirely different character. It's hard to imagine how the worldbuilding we've seen in the last 12 years, where "there's so much we've never seen, so much we don't know" and "there's mystery everywhere you look" would potentially disappear after this... I really hope i would see it again, as well as be around long enough to see it.

As of now, this chapter is about to come to an end. So before it does, i want to say thanks to everyone who has been involved in this show.

Thank you Luke Pearson, the people who made Hilda the series possible, and especially - you. Whether you worked on it or are just simply a fan of the show, you have my sincere gratitude for all the great things that happened to the series in the last 4 years.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Mine just about always end on a happy or hopeful note, but I'll give a nod here to A Crosshair Carol. It's a very satisfying ending.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Nope.

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind? Not yet, but I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone and attempt something spicy but sweet—something like jalapeño pepper jelly.

10. Do you write cross overs? What's the craziest one you've written? I've written a few. They've all been literary crossovers. The craziest is probably A Crosshair Carol, with Crosshair in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge.

16. What are your writing strengths? Hmm...dialog, maybe? I like trying to make characters talk like they would in canon.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? I can't stop sometimes, and a small chapter turns into a whopper.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? It's English only for me, I'm afraid.

Mostly Star Wars; recently I've been ping-ponging between The Bad Batch and the Clone Wars, although there's some Rebels in there, too

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

Not Alone (269), Red Sky At Morning (196), Braids (136), I'll Stand In Front, I'll Take the Blow (120), and Breathless (118)

5. Do you respond to comments?

Yes, but I can be inconsistent 🙈 I tend to hoard comments like a dragon while I'm working on the next installment and then I'll spam reply when the next chapter is posted. So for example, right now, I'm working on chapter 4 of Not Alone. When it's done, I'll go back and reply to all the comments on chapter 3. But by and large, yes, I reply to comments! I love it!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Either Fallout (Cody and Obi-Wan post-Kadavo) or May Your Spirit Never Leave Me (Ahsoka's POV during the Rako Hardeen arc). It's interesting that they're both other characters reacting to Obi-Wan being hurt! That man doesn't realize the havoc he wreaks on others

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Breathless, easy. Who doesn't love a CodyWan first kiss?

8. Do you get hate on fics?

No, fortunately I'm too small for that

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I haven't yet, but I have some ideas percolating

Breathless. Granted, the CodyWan fandom is pretty large and active, and it was my first attempt writing them, so maybe it just got lost in the shuffle, but I think it's underrated personally

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Similar to @just-here-with-my-thoughts, I had a notebook in high school that my friend and I used to take turns writing self-insert White Collar/Celtic Thunder fanfiction (don't ask). So actually, wait, I guess my answer to number 10 is wrong. I have written one crossover

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

Obi-Wan/Reader *coughs* I mean, Greg Lestrade/Mycroft Holmes. And Crowley/Aziraphale. And Eddie Brock/Venom

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have a non-fanfiction related WIP that has been collecting dust on my hard drive for like four years. It's a queer retelling of Hades and Persephone that I'm not sure I'll ever get back to

16. What are your writing strengths?

I've always been told I'm good at dialogue, and I do find that to be the easiest and usually the first thing I write in a scene

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Descriptions. I find it super challenging to work in settings/colors/flavors/textures/etc in a natural way that doesn't interrupt the flow of the scene

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've never done it, but I also don't speak another language

Harry Potter, as was the case for many Zillenial fanfic writers

I love all my children equally! Although Not Alone has been giving me lots of dopamine lately. And I'm very excited about the things I'm working on for CodyWan Week ☺️

Right now? Mainly Star Wars and specifically Bad Batch. Been churning out a lot of OC related stuff too. But I've written for a ton of other fandoms, mainly Marvel, Cobra Kai/Karate Kid, and TMNT.

What are your top five fics by kudos?

"Conversations with Myself" - A 2012 TMNT x ROTTMNT crossover fic (998 kudos)

"Ah Yes. Me. My Boyfriend. And the Twelve Kids He Adopted" - A fluffy Haikyuu fic (474 kudos)

If I got any,, lol. But, yes! I love responding to comments!! Getting comments is better than drugs man,, I love responding to comments because it means the reader took the time to say something about what I've written and that means the world to me <3 The least I can do is respond back!

What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Oof,, maybe a DinCobb fic called "But Now You're A Stranger" in which Din and Cobb get together for a night but part ways. Then when Din comes back in BOBF for Cobb's help there are a lot of emotions they struggle to deal with and ultimately end up being estranged. It was based off a song called "August" by flipturn and I think I might've cried while writing it.

What is a fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Most of my fics tend to have happy endings but I don't know how to go about choosing which one had the "happiest" ending out of all of them. Recently though, I wrote a fic about Wrecker meeting his new adopted daughter for the first time, called "Buir be Ner (Father of Mine), which started out with Wrecker's girlfriend being nervous about introducing her daughter to Wrecker but ended with them getting a small taste of being the family they longed for :)

Do you get hate on fics?

I don't, thankfully! I don't know why someone would take their time to leave hate on something or give time to read something they hate but,, y'know,, I'm just grateful I haven't had to deal with that yet.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I don't write smut. I'm aspec and writing smut makes me feel weird, I don't really like it :/ Usually I'll timeskip over it or something if I include something like that. Most I'll do is some foreplay, but that's like it. I've tried before but I honestly just tend to avoid it in terms of when it comes to writing fics. (explains why all my characters are ace, lol).

Do you ever write crossovers?

Yes!! I absolutely love crossovers and wish I could write more of them. My most popular fic is a TMNT crossover fic and I did a few other fics where it wasn't really a crossover but I would put one fandom into the plot of another fandom so it's like half of a crossover. Kinda.

Ah, not yet but I've had a very lovely non-English reader who has translated some of my fics for herself :D

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I haven't. I'm a very unreliable person so I don't think this is a good idea.

What's your all time favorite ship?

Oh goddamn. Off the top of my head I always say Superhusbands (Tony Stark x Steve Rogers) just because it was the ship I was obsessed with the longest and I have a lot of good memories surrounding that ship. Also they're like,, multiverse soulmates and their different versions of themselves fit so many different shipping dynamics, so what's not to love?

What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Definitely my TMNT crossover fic. It got SO much more attention than I expected and I feel terrible about letting all those readers down. Midway through writing the fic I became fixated on Star Wars again and can't bring myself to finishing it :( But there's so many others man,, I have so many fics I haven't finished yet-

What are your writing strengths?

I've been told I'm really good at writing natural dialogue apparently despite being terrible at holding a conversation myself. Someone asked me if I took a class on it once and I told him I just spend a LOT of time listening to other people speak. I'm also apparently good at creating characters and character dynamics. That's another thing I tend to get a lot of comments on when it comes to workshops with my writing; that I write "real/relatable" characters or that my characterizations in my fanfics are spot on. I heavily value characters and characterization so it's always nice to hear/read something like that about my writings.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Description (yikes). And keeping things short :( Growing up my english teachers always commented that I had a habit of writing a lot of run on sentences. Now I just put in a lot of commas and semicolons (whomp whomp). As for description, I struggle coming up with what I think is good description. I've had a handful of people in workshops compliment me on my imagery though and claim that my narrative writings read like a movie they can clearly picture but sometimes I feel like it's not a lot and I just take SO much time thinking about what to write for description.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

Eh, usually the only other languages I include in fics are Spanish and Korean because they're my languages and I'm familiar with them, but I don't really have any opinions on them. I will say though that if you DO write something in another language, don't italicize it. It draws attention to it and makes it seem like it's something "unnatural" or something and if it's a native language for a character than that's the norm and therefore shouldn't be any different to how you'd normally type dialogue or action for that matter. That was just something my narrative writing professor really emphasized because people tend to italicize anything in a different language when there's really no reason to.

First fandom you wrote for?

OOF. I actually have no idea,, I'd have to go back to my Wattpad account but I deleted a lot of my fics on there, lol. Um,, if I had to guess though I might say it was either Marvel or TMNT. Do I remember specifically what it was? No. For Marvel it was probably a SuperHusbands or Superfamily fic and if it was TMNT it was probably something with old OCs.

Favorite fic you've written?

Waaaaaah, I have no idea 🙃 I enjoy writing all my fics (why else would I be writing them) so I think they're all my favorite, lol. I guess in terms of finished fics I would say that my favorite one was probably Karasuno's 12, a Haikyuu fic that followed the premise of the Ocean's 11 movie. I had SO much fun writing that fic because I had to fit the Haikyuu characters into the Ocean's 11 characters while making sure they weren't out of character. I also had to fill in a lot of the blanks from the initial movie while also adding extra scenes and coming up with those was fun too! Essentially, I had a skeleton (the plot, dialogue, and characters of Ocean's 11) with some muscle and meat (the Haikyuu character's) and I mashed them together to create the fic. And not only was it both challenging and fun, but also rewarding as hell! I had at least two readers who ALWAYS left super long comments about how much they enjoyed the fic and they helped motivate me to finish the fic. That fic got so many comments, it was just so nice and fufilling 🥲 I miss those kinds of feedbacks. So I think that that fic was probably my favorite, even if I'm not really in either fandom anymore.

3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently, Star Wars (mostly Bad Batch); however, I've written for a lot of TV shows over the years. (I prefer TV shows over movies simply because I can get to know the characters better and have a better feel for them when writing)

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

1. Unconventionally Easy (Star Wars: The Bad Batch) - a pre-Order 66 story about a mission gone awry for the Batch. 2. I Miss You (Star Wars: The Bad Batch) - Echo finds an unexpected message from a brother. 3. Regroup (Star Wars: The Bad Batch) - Tech and Omega have to leave Hunter and Wrecker behind when a job for Cid goes sideways. 4. Just Sit With Me (Star Wars: The Bad Batch) - A Cadet Batch fic featuring young Crosshair and Tech. 5. Resilient (Star Wars: The Bad Batch) - Echo struggles with his PTSD.

5. Do you respond to comments? Yes! It's one of my favorite parts of writing fan fiction!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? This one is really hard since I did Whumptober and Febuwhump and Angstpril 😅 I'd have to say maybe Haunting Failures or Sick Day (although my readers would probably choose different ones).

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Probably the Stardust Conspiracy or Detail Work.

8. Do you get hate on fics? In other fandoms, I have...I have yet to experience hate in this fandom.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I don't read or write or watch it...not my thing.

10. Do you ever write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I haven't really written any...but I did kinda play with the idea of writing a Psych and Bones crossover 😂 I was gonna call it The Psychic in the Capital.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Not that I am aware of, but that would be so cool!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Kind of! I wrote Where Fears Are Born & When Fears Are Faced as companion pieces of @just-here-with-my-thoughts' fic Phobia. And then @just-here-with-my-thoughts wrote a couple cute companion pieces for The Stardust Conspiracy! (Find the Stardust collection here!)

14. What's your all time favorite ship? Kanan and Hera 🥰😭

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Mmmmm...I don't know. Any WIPs I have chapters posted for I have plans to finish...the ones slowly dying in my folder, however...😅

There's a Fives Survives AU I've been writing where he's actually the one who finds and rescues Omega from Kamino that I would really like to see through.

16. What are your writing strengths? I love character studies, so I feel like that really helps my writing!

17. What are your writing weaknesses? I hate writing action scenes...and I tend to lean heavily on dialogue.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic? The only time I've used "another language" in a fic is when I have clones use Mando'a words...but they don't usually use full sentences.

19. First fandom you wrote for? When I was an early teen I wrote for the Disney show Pair of Kings. 😂 However, I think I deleted the story after a couple of days...the first fandom I stuck to for a bit of time and still have stories floating around out there was Bonanza.

20. Favorite fic you've written? Basically any story I've written with the boys as cadets. They All Fall Down is probably one of my favorites, just because it reminds me so much of growing up with siblings. I also loved writing the Stardust Conspiracy.

Elusive Target Arcade

September 1

To kick off September we have new Elusive Target Arcades with a very illuminating unlock. In this Arcade players will take on The Infiltrators which consists of: The Paparazzo, The Stowaway, and The Collector. With these come one complication – you may only change disguise once. Players can also go head to head with: The Twin, The Politician and The Black Hat in The Illusory Elusive Target Arcade. In this batch pacifications are limited.

The first batch sounds more interesting than the second one, but both feature two of my least favourite complications.

Yeah, I don't know what to say to this. Can't we get one of those topless raver outfits NPCs in Berlin are wearing instead?

It doesn't look bad, it's just... There are a few outfits in this trilogy I want to get before we go full GTA Online.

September 15

Come September 15, you can complete your Ducky Collection with the stylish “anonymous” Lucky Ducky Suit. Don’t be fooled by this lovely, soft yellow hoodie, decorated with a cute “duck” motif. Though it might show that your blood is yellow – be bold, because you know it’s stone cold. Black skinny jeans included. Complete one of the new Elusive Target Arcades The Blusterous or The Bombastic – and the suit is yours. Good duck.

But... You didn't tell us which targets we'll get??

This outfit is actually quite adorable. Not something 47 would choose to wear if he had the choice, though. Maybe Diana got it for him so he has something cosy to wear for their weekends at home.

Featured Contracts

September 8

It’s time to go island hopping in this upcoming batch of Featured Contracts. The theme is Visit Ambrose, and takes players back to the newest location in HITMAN 3. Visit Ambrose is a tricky theme, its main focus is the new HITMAN 3 location. But that being said, if you can find a sneaky way to frame it around Visit Ambrose without use of the level – it still counts.

Looking forward to those, even though I've fallen a bit behind on featured contracts since they stopped adding unlocks.

Elusive Targets

September 16: The Rage

Your target’s codename is ‘The Rage’ and he’s back in Chongqing once again. He’s a former middleweight champion who’s on the run for taking one fight way too far. He didn’t get the nickname ‘Crusher’ for no reason, so make sure you stay on your toes for this one.

Actually a nice target. Happy to see this one's a Year Two Edition target (all of them are), so I get to kill him again. Not sure how to do it this time, though.

September 23: The Stowaway

It’s time to jump on a boat and go back to the Isle of Sgàil to find this elusive target. Your target is Jimmy Chen, a cynical and paranoid tabloid journalist who literally kills for a good story. Your mission is to eliminate him and recover his dictaphone. But be careful, and don’t let him spot you – because this target has some unique behavior and will react to your presence.

I feel like I've killed this target way too many times by now. Maybe I'll let him change his disguise and move on a few times. I usually kill him while he's still wearing his starting disguise.

September 30: The Surgeons

Your targets are Dr. Pavel Frydel and Dr. Akane Akenawa, brilliant and unethical transplant surgeons. They’ve arrived at the hyper-exclusive GAMA facility in Hokkaido, where they’ll be for 10 days starting September 30. One surgery went wrong, and they made a very powerful enemy. A billionaire who lost his son. Your client offers a substantial bonus if the targets are eliminated in a manner appropriate to the death of their former patient. Poetic justice? Good luck.

I like them! They're interesting, they have funny dialogue, and I like that they hang out and walk around at different locations.

Free Location: Hokkaido

September 22

The Free Location Rotation gives all players the chance to enjoy a location from the World of Assassination. This time you’re going to Japan to visit the hyper-exclusive GAMA facility in Hokkaido. You have 10 days to enjoy everything the location has to offer. From the hot springs to life-saving surgery. Time to beat your old high score on Doki Doki Pow Pow. Have fun.

That's nice for people who don't own Hitman 2016. There'll be lots of whining on Reddit anyway, though, especially since you have to own all three games to play the Arcade.

TL;DR

Not a bad month, but the roadmap is missing information on the second group of ETA batches, and... Yeah, September is both 47's and Diana's birthday month. I would've lowkey expected something more birthday-themed.

Hey, maybe Diana got him the ducky hoodie as a birthday gift?

I do my best! Comments are the lifesource for my writer brain so I always want to show my appreciation by responding. plus it gives me an excuse to unload more of my ideas that didn't make the final cut

Baby it's cold fs takes the cake 💀 I straight up murdered the lad

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

idk I feel like most of my fics have happy endings? or at least I try to make them happy. lol looking through all my fics now I realize some of them aren't as sweet as I recall in my brain parts. I think it's between Rooster and An Octopus by Any Other Name. The Rooster one is solidly set in a star wars fix-it verse where everyone lives and goes on fun little adventures + anakin is a good dad but also the octopus one is pure Horsemen fluff and cuddling on the couch for movie night so the choice is difficult to make

8. Do you get hate on fics?

not that I remember!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

only in my semi-conscious skull before I fully wake up in the morning and fellas that kriff is so nasty you don't want to know

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

eh, not particularly my cup of tea, mostly because it'd take a lot of effort to piece two self-sustaining stories together BUT it is a ton of fun and I do appreciate crossovers a lot. Don't think I've written any

Don't think so. but like, fic is already... plagiarism...? so,,,,,,,,,, I wouldn't really mind if someone did copy my ideas :/ look as long as we're all having fun

nah. I've thought about doing one or two myself, but I haven't got much interest from readers

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Not one that I've ever published 😅

kriff bro idk. not sure if I have one that really feels like home to me, yk? but kanera is definitely up there, along with anidala and rexsoka

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

don't make me choose just one I started a bad batch rewrite centered around a Jedi OC who survived the Purge and joined the squad and fell in love with Hunter. She's super cool and I love her, but I haven't had the energy to return to the canon plot so now I'm just sitting out roughly 80k of her being a traumatized dork craving deodorant with a vengeance

16. What are your writing strengths?

I'd like to say my cadence is pretty proficient. I have to work for it, but when I try I can make my writing pretty rhythmic and that's super fun, especially when writing angst or scenes with poetic tones

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

this is super specific but I have a hard time pacing the descriptions and general imagery throughout a scene. Usually I get so caught up in the introspection of the character that I forget to mention what time of day it is or where they're having this particular conversation or how they got from point A to point B

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I'll give it a shot whenever it feels appropriate for the character. Though if the language in question isn't one I'm proficient in, I tend to just skirt around using it. I'd rather write the necessity for it out of the equation than miscommunicate. Single words is fine most of the time, since those have the easiest meanings to confirm and I'm less likely to make a grammar infraction

19. First fandom you wrote for?

pretty sure it was Percy Jackson! that was fr my first fandom ever. definitely the first fandom I did fanart for too!

20. Favorite fic you've ever written?

Blazed holds a very special place in my heart even though I have to drag myself kicking and screaming to the doc to work on it. That fic is the perfect embodiment of my fandom journey: excessive, dramatic, poor pacing and characterization, utter disregard for canon, started out as a one-shot and now approaches 140k with an undetermined number of chapters yet to come

3. what’s your favorite candle scent?

I don't buy candles enough to have like ONE SOLID go-to scent but I like ones that make my house smell like a bakery. Vanilla normally features. I also have a bunch of cool tea candles someone sent me, it's like a sampler batch? and there's a few I REALLY like from there that are a lot more earthy smelling. one is like, wet pavement or something, and I really liked it XD I'm also a bit weak for anything with bergamot in.

6. say three nice things about yourself (three physical and three non-physical).

legally i think this is a torture device. okay. urgh. i'm going to do this like recitations into the mirror that ur shrink makes u do.

NON-PHYSICAL (bc it's easier obvs): (1) I'm really good at most things I put my mind to, like if I apply myself, I'll probably be at least decent at it if all it requires is mental skill or understanding. (2) I'm a genuinely good person. The times I've been convinced I'm evil have been pretty much all people manipulating my mental illness to their own ends, or just simple misunderstandings that got sorted. At the end of the day, once I know what the right thing is, I do it, and I've recently learned not everyone is like that. (3) I have a good sense of fashion and interior design.

PHYSICAL: (1) I have really nice hair. (2) I consistently look younger than I actually am, and that makes me feel good about myself, even if it's just a case of serial babyface or something. (3) My body refuses to die and no matter how many other problems me and him might have, I appreciate that sheer force of will appears to be enough to keep me upright and fighting g-d.

SNEAKY SNEAKY. Lmao!!! I guess it would be a cop out to turn to the audience and be like "I can always count on this mfer to send me asks for these things" huh? Alright, alright. The thing I like abt nightshadeis is that they're always upbeat and cheerfully sending me messages. They never seem to mind when I don't respond; just knowing I read them is enough, I think. This might sound like such a cop-out answer but as someone who often runs really low on social spoons, it's nice to just get the equivalent of telegrams thrown into my inbox, knowing that no offense will be taken if I don't continue the conversation. Also they seem like TERMINALLY upbeat which, as a grumpy bitch, I consider a really admirable trait.

Thank you! I had fun doing all the Tickletober pieces (masterlist here). Art makes the rounds so much more easily than fic; the top note-grabbers in that batch easily outperformed my typical note count by 10x. I do have some stray ideas floating around for other artwork, though writing is still where my passion lies so don't expect me to stop anytime soon. :)
