WILL WOOD THE NEW NORMAL LIVE REVUE
"Blue Velvet" Reboot Starring Tom Waits (Suburbia Overture 2024 Edit) - Revue Lines are delivered with much more clarity than the 2022. The tone of voice used in "Vampire Culture" is significantly less deep, which does add to the aforementioned clarity (he says some wild stuff in this part i just couldnt hear before!) but i do think takes away mildly from the juxtaposition of the three parts. The same can be said about "Love Me Normally," where the voice he uses is much closer to his normal singing tone (as seen in "Suburbia Overture") 4/5, the changes were large but noticeable, the piece overall retains the same charm as the original "Suburbia Overture" seen on The Normal Album
Second Sight Seer! S! (2222024 Edit) - Revue Significantly more clear than the original "2econd-2ight-2eer (that was fun, goodbye.)" and i feel like it does much more for this song than "Suburbia Overture." I think its probably because this song is just generally faster paced. You can much more clearly hear what Will is saying. This might also just be placebo, but the backing track ALSO sounds much crisper. He also kinda does a silly little twinge in his voice. This version is an improvement over the original. 5/5
The Moral Implications of a Deterministic Universe feat. The Onceler (Laplace's Angel 2024 Edit) - Revue OH MY. GOD. His voice in this song is AMAZING. its slightly different than the tone he uses in the original and it so slightly changes the tone of the song. This shit is ORGASMIC. THE ENDING BIT… THE INTRO INSTRUMENTAL… OH MY GODDDD every part of this song is better. i like the onceler reference because his "am i really that bad line" does sound like him lol. WW my tumblrina king. 7/5
I/Me/Myself (2024) - Revue Nothing huge, increased clarity on lyrics and backing track is notable. Just as good as the original 4/5
…well, better than the alternative (Better Alternative Edit) - Revue First i was squealing at the new intro instrumental but then his VOICE!!!!! i started stimming on this shit immediately. im biased because this is easily my favorite ww song ever. HIS VOICE!!! it was amazing in the original and its a subtle change if ur a new listener but oh my fucking god it actually is bringing a tear to my eye. the instrumental is amazing also. THE LAST PART OH MY GOD IT KEEPS GETTING BETTER IM ACTUALLY GONNA START CRYING. 10/5 EASILY this is so fucking good!!!
I Lied About the Apple Thing (Skeleton-Bones Edition) - Revue First thing u notice is the instrumental change. AMAZING. His voice is once again alot clearer in the version, slight tone change is noticed and appreciated. 4/5
Ideas Only Spread Because People Like Them, The "Free Market of Ideas" is not a Meritocracy, it's a Set of Unhealthy Coping Skills and a Corporate Oligarchy, Wake Up, Man! Don't Let the Lies Dim Your Light! anyway this one's black box warrior (2024 edit) - Revue Clear lyrics doing alot, his enunciations a little different. The pace is the same tho which is nice. the voice is kinda different. Like how the choruses are a bit more in this version. I don't feel like changes are that prominent, comparable to the original all honestly, its a perfectly good song though. I generally feel like BBW is one of the weaker songs on this album so im not really shocked by this. the ending sounds better in this one 3/5
Karen, Thannsdfghjkl You for the Casserole, But I Need You to Lea-n into a Typo (Marsha 2024 Edit) - revue oh my loordddddd the voice is already so much better. this already puts it above the original. the backing track seems similar this far. Rerecording the vocals improved this alot his emphasis is great in this. Its not a shocking difference like some other songs so far but its very good. 4/5
Love, Me Normally - Revue This is the last song on the original The Normal Album, cant even tell its a edit. Because its not apparently. i was tripping trying to review i was going back and forth between the two. apparently legal issues didnt let him remaster it???? whats the freak
A Knee-Slapping Joke Title Referring to How Ending Tracks on Will Wood Albums Are Always Kind of Like That (Memento Mori 2024) - revue HIS VOCALS ARE SO CRISP ITS LIKE HES IN THE ROOM WITH ME. the backing is much more subtle letting the vocals really take the lead which does alot for this song i think. SO crisp an amazing remake this is SO FUCKING GODO THE ENDING OH MY GODDDDD THIS SONGS GREAT 5/5
I/Me/Myself (2018 Live Studio Demo) - revue WOAH. this is!!!! fresh!!! avocado ass song god dayum. Clearly unrefined but i kind of LOVE it oh my goodddd classic will voice and acoustics!!?!?!???!! with different lyrics??!??!?? on such a popular song this is sooo refreshing god damn. oh my god. oh my god. this is incredible. oh my god. 6/5. this is so. new. oh my god
Laplace's Angel (2018 Live in Studio Demo) - Revue once again the acoustic is AMAZING its really refreshing after how synthed TNA is. his voice in this again is GREAT the lyrics being slightly different do alooot. generally very yurmy. 4/5
Memento Mori (2018 Live in Studio Demo) - Revue Talking intro? cool!! WHAT REFERENCE TALKING INTRO… different lyrics again! love that. alot more chill than the final, nice sound. Hes playing the piano and says "take it away hands" instead of "take it away hank" for the musical interlude, thats fun. he does a weird voice thing. sure. this ok enough. 4/5
#i dont rly know much abt music so if these terms arent right its cuz im stupid#i love will wood#cicada screams#will wood#will wood and the tapeworms#the normal album#the new normal#wwattw#will wood fan

Reflection.
Over the last 11 weeks I have used 3 different adobe softwares: Illustrator: I had only briefly used illustrator for small projects, but never for something big. The pen tool was something that was insanely hard, I couldnt grasp the idea of how the pen tool worked, with the handles and the points. It wasnt until recently when designing the book that I think it clicked and things became easier to use. Like the penguin task, I think once I started understanding how it worked, going back to fix things became very common. What I didnt like about illustrator was that sometimes things didn't do what I wanted them to do, like the pen tool! The fill and outline was frustrating because sometimes it swapped when I pressed something, and trying to get use to how the layers work compared to how the layers work in photoshop was tough to understand but eventually i got thee. The way that illustrator uses vectors and lines instead of pixels ins really nice because it adds a crisper and nicer look to the work being created, thats something that was really easy and nice to get with because it was nice to look at. One thing that I would like to improve on would be getting things done quicker and not having to go back through and change things. I found myself drawing with the pen tool and the going back and fixing all the mistakes, I want to try and get to the point where I can just get it nearly right and carry on instead of having to go back in. What helped a lot when using illustrator was having the past weeks to be able to remember what was needed to be done so I could have the outcome I wanted, without the past writing I wouldnt have been able to get through a lot of what was going on with illustrator.
Photoshop: I would say I had a pretty good knowledge when it came to photohop. So personally I didn't struggle that much. In general I enjoy photo editing so the process to me wasnt that harsh and because I knew what i was doing most of the time, trying to figure things out was easier. What was tricky wasn't the program by changing from a PC to a Mac, the keyboard and the layout of everything is different so I found myself clicking buttons that didn't do what they would do on PC. The curves for photos was an enjoyable process for me because I enjoyed how the photos changed so drastically and the end result was something that I felt like I had worked hard. What I found challenging was the masks, it was hard to understand what masks were and even now im still a little confused as to why they are needed. The masking exercise, the man jumping and trying to figure that all out was the hardest part for me because I just couldnt figure out the purpose of the masks.
InDesign: Doing graphic design I already had a brief understanding on how to use indesign, how to create pages and how the spreads worked, putting text in, etc. Using indesign compared to photoshop and illustrator was a weird change because the tools that I was use to having on the side were no longer there. I found the process enjoyable however because there was a lot to do, playing with text and making it do strange things, something that isnt really that big in photoshop and for sure not really a thing in illustrator. The photo placement was a pain. Trying to get photos into indesign at the start was challenging because it did this weird thing where it would disappear because the box was too small. Holding command kept the picture in place and with shrinking the image, holding down shift to then keep it the same shape, those 2 tool were very helpful with using the software. I found the text boxes frustrating because the text box didnt grow with the text (Didnt make room for the text) instead it would just hide the text. that was probably the only real struggle and problem I had with indesign, other than that I think I improved a lot from the first time I had ever used it.
Overall, the fundamentals class taught and helped expand more on what I didnt know and what I already know. There were aspects of the course (The book) that I kept getting distracted or saying I would do it later and that would then lead to the book not looking the best and not looking ow I wanted it to. The most important thing I did learn was the function of each software in depth and what they were all good at and how they all worked with each other, like you can put photoshop files into indesign, and they can all cross over to each other.

he loves me... - calum hood
summary - a reflection of reader and calum’s relationship told through the classic game “he loves me, he loves me not.”
warnings - some arguing
word count - 1k
a/n - congratulations to my baby on superbloom. i wish i could tell him how insanely proud i am. i randomly got inspiration for this from a flower and here it is. hope you guys like it :)

The flowers in the backyard were swaying in the warm summer afternoon breeze and you felt yourself drifting towards them with the wind, sitting down, feet tucked under you.
Plucking one from the ground between your fingertips, you raised it to your noise and inhaled deeply. The sweet perfume of the Gardenias reminded you of your childhood, playing outside with the neighbor kids, concrete kissed knees, sun kissed skin, the sound of the ice cream truck.
You felt yourself lulling into a sense of calm serenity.
You thought about that silly game you used to play with your friends on the playground. He loves me, he loves me not.Â
You feel the soft, veiny petal of the flower between your fingers, staring at it thoughtfully, before plucking it from the stem. “He loves me...”
You stood on your tippy toes, hooking the last ornament over the tall Christmas tree, and turned to Calum, beaming. “We did it.”
He smiled fondly, repeating your proud statement. “We did it.” He stepped over, closing the distance between you, and brushed the lose hairs on your forehead behind your ear.
His hand moved to rest comfortably on your neck and you raised yours to wrap around his wrist. You nuzzled your cheek into his touch.
His other hand dropped to grip your waist, tugging you into him. He could feel your heart beating quickly.
His forehead dropped down, resting comfortably atop yours. His warm breath fanned over your nose, smelling of peppermint.
The next petal was impossibly softer. With another pluck, it was falling to the lush grass. “He loves me not...”
“You can’t just drop this on me now,” You practically shout, biting back the tears burning your throat.
“This is my job. This is my life. I have to go.” Calum followed you into the bedroom.
“I know I signed on for tours. I signed on for promo. I signed on for meetings and very little time with you. And I get this is a big opportunity for you, but what about me? Can I really be in a relationship if I only see my boyfriend once a month at best?” You couldnt stop the tears from falling at this point. Your breathing became more erratic as you realized where this conversation might be going.
Calum almost flinched at your words. “You can’t mean that.” His hurt is quickly replaced by anger. “Are you giving me a fucking ultimatum?”
The bitterness in his tone took you by surprise. Calum rarely raises his voice and virtually never got this upset with you. Hating his anger and hating this argument and hating that you were upset and couldn’t run to the person who always gave you the best advice — because he’s the person you wanted to run from — you stood up, tugging on the nearest pair of shoes.
“(Y/n), where the fuck are you going? You can’t just fucking leave when things get hard.” Cal shouted after you as you pulled on a jacket. You grabbed your keys and began to twist the door handle.
“Isn’t that what you’re doing? Leaving?”
“If you leave now, we’re done.”
You stopped in your tracks, turning to look at the man you loved.
Your love for him is what made your next move so hard.
You pulled the door handle and walked out, leaving a shocked and distraught Calum in the abandoned apartment behind you.
That memory tugged at your heart, so you continued on. The next petal was a bit darker than the last. Pluck. “He loves me...”
“Calum, my fingers don’t bend that way.” He laughed, placing a kiss on the tip of your nose.
“If I can do it, so can you.” Calum repositioned you on his lap, reaching over to guide your fingers to a new chord on the guitar. “Try this one, baby.”
You held your fingers down on the strings where he told you to and strummed downwards, producing a very strangled sounding C chord. You frowned. “I suck, don’t I.”
He rested his chin on your shoulder and brushed your hair off your neck so he could kiss you, then returned to his position on your shoulder to stare up at you fondly. “You don’t suck, you’re doing great.”
You furrowed your eyebrows. “You don’t have to lie.”
He laughed and moved your hand back to the strings. “I’m not lying, this is your first lesson, my love. It takes practice.” He gently shifted your fingers back to their marks to produce a C chord and adjusted the position of your fingertips slightly to help produce a crisper and less muffled sound. You strummed and the product was a lot clearer. You gasped. “Did I do that?”
He chuckled. “You did that.” You leaned your head back on his shoulder, turning to face him.
“Why do you put up with me?” You asked playfully. You reached up to run a hand through his hair.
“What kind of question is that? You’re the only thing I think about.”
You smiled at the memory and began to twirl the stem of the flower in your fingers.
The screen door creaked behind you and you turned. Calum stepped onto the patio in some cotton shorts and a tshirt, a soft smile on his face. “There you are. I’ve been looking for you.”
You smiled. “Here I am.”
He stepped out into the grass and crouched down beside you. “Are you alright?”
You set the flower down, bringing your knees up to your chest. “I’m alright.” Calum’s fluffy hair looked inviting so you reached out a hand to run through it. His eyes began to lull at the sensation. “Come sit with me,” you said quietly.
He laid down beside you, stretching his arms back behind his head and yawning.
“Whats with the dying flower?”
“I was in the middle of figuring out if you love me or not.” You lifted up the half-plucked Gardenia and set it aside so you could lay down beside Calum.
“Hm. Well, I’m here now. Why don’t you ask me?”
You laid your head back onto the grass, gazing up at the cloudless blue sky. “Do you love me, Calum?”
“I love you. Very much.” He pulled you gently onto his chest and you laid there together under the sun, the sweet smell of Gardenias reminding you now of both your childhood and your love for Calum Hood.
He loves me.

Mor x (no gender) Reader - collectiveÂ
She was golden light. Not the brisk winter light that made velaris look like a tundra, but a warm light that didnt belong in the night court. It was no wonder she felt like she never belonged in the Hewn City. Mor finally caught your gaze and jokingly waved a hand in front of your eyes, pushing off the back of the cozy couch.
"Anyone home?" She snapped her fingers. You glared at her, earning a scoff before she reached for her tea. You were keenly aware of a few patrons glancing a bit too much at the both of you. You didnt wonder why. The Morrigan, perpetually single going to a coffee...what was this? A date? Brunch? You shook the thought away, sending a quick scornful glare at the ones staring a bit too long. They quickly looked away, not daring to look back again.
"I'm right where I need to be." You said, snatching her hand and squeezing enough to make her try to bat you away. "You're going to make me spill!" She scolded, setting her tea back down. You released her hand, the warmth of the touch making your entire body thrum. Her eyes drifted from yours to your lips, and she blushed lightly. The sight sent a thrill down your spine and into your stomach.
She stared at the Sidra behind her for a few moments, her hair glinting in the light like molten gold. The river sparkled, the shallow areas making tiny white caps. There were a few children on the bank throwing rocks in the rippling current, along with a few horned fae watching over them protectively. Mor smiled softly - "Let's get out of here." She reached for her tea and downed the rest of it, grabbing your hand when you opened your mouth to protest.
"Dont be scared." She winked at you while leading you out of the small coffee shop.
She led you to an alley where the sun had not yet started warming, held your hands and suddenly darkness enveloped you and you were winnowing. "You could tell me first you know" You muttered, squinting against the darkness. She squeezed your hands reassuringly.
When you felt the sun on your face again, you opened your eyes to a sprawling meadow before you. The air was crisper here and you could hear the faint bubbling of a stream nearby. Mor said nothing as she took your hand and guided you through the trees out of the meadow, and down a dirt path lined with small rocks and wildflowers. The sun dappled in through the tress, casting light gold spots on the path. "Watch your step, it's been muddy lately." She said, letting go of your hand and hopping down a small embankment.
You tried to follow her as best you could but the vines that she seemed to avoid completely nearly tripped you in your process of getting down. She watched, ready to catch you if need be. The whole time trying not to laugh. "Couldnt you have just winnowed us straight here?" You grumbled, finally reaching the end of the slope and treacherous terrain.
She laughed and pulled debris from your hair, dusting you off. "I just wanted to watch you struggle. Come on, and no I'm not going to winnow you." She looped her arm through yours and tugged you along the bank of the surprisingly wide river that cut through the forest. The sunlight made the water look like a deep green enchanted pool. A deadly pool, judging by the fast current.
There was a sudden splash on the water, making you jump. You looked over and mor was crouched, looking for more rocks to throw. The edge of the bank where she stood was covered with gray flat rocks. She waved you over, calling "You know how to skip dont you?" she flicked another rock into the blue green abyss. You gracefully reached for a rock next to her and sent it skittering over the water. She beamed at you. "I've never been that good. You dont have to show off you know." She sent another rock out.
"What is this place anyway?" You asked, searching for a new stone. She sat on an area of sand further up the bank, chucking another stone in. It landed with a quick 'thwomp' as the river swallowed it up.
"It's.. special, I think. I felt it calling one day while Rhys was flying us to the Spring court. It's the center of Summer, Autumn, and Spring. I think there's a touch of all of them here. Some cataclysm of power flowing through the river, the trees." She paused and picked up another stone, tossing it away into the water. "The river changes color sometimes too." She sighed and tucked her legs up, resting her chin on her knees.
She seemed so out of place here. You were used to the laughing, confidence and impeccable wit she had at the night court. You'd never seen her so... naturally calm. You took a seat beside her and held up a jasper stone you'd found. It had specks of black along with shining yellow and white crystal mixed in as well. She gasped, taking it and turning it in the light.
"I'd say a cataclysm of power is pretty accurate." You said, observing the mixture of trees. The stone alone was enough to prove such a theory. Jasper from the spring court's neutral tones, the dark flecks from autumn's obsidian mines and the shining agate from the Summer court beaches.
She kept the rock, sliding it into her pocket before leaning her head on your shoulder. You watched the river shift and shine under the warm light together until the stars appeared.

Ah, hello! I wanted to ask since you’ve sold charms — where do you order your charms from? I’ve been trying to find the best place that has glitter epoxy ones specifically, and its kind of my first time making charms out of my art. I appreciate any advice you give — thank you for your time and hope you have a wonderful day! ;u;
hi, thanks for the ask! i currently use vograce, an alibaba merchant (mainland china). i specifically chose them for pricing, specific features (double side printing, epoxy, free accessories, packaging). ive composed a list of my personal experiences w vograce and pros and cons, or just things to be aware of!
some notes before going in:
this list is from a US based lens, i live in the pacific northwest so i dont know if that affects shipping price vs other places in the US or any other international country
out of all the places i know of, only vograce to my knowledge offers glitter epoxy so i only wrote about it
since im writing about vograce, im under PST time zone and mainland china is about 16 hrs ahead of me, give or take a few hours depending on specific areas
not a complete list since vograce is the only place i know that even offered epoxy lol
formatting advice:
always work in 300 dpi minimum. i like 300 but my friends like 350 and up, the more the better
unflattened psds print more vibrantly. you can still save in cmyk which ms coco will request, it’ll just be a psd with layers
vograce (mainland china based)pros:
low/custom moq (minimum order quantity im pretty sure) moq is usually 1 piece while other places do pack sizes (like pack of 25, for example), so theyre good if you need a specific amount or like, just a few things
pricing - depending on what you order and quantity, pricing can be really reasonable. a big order of epoxy glitter charms cost me a little over $1 for each unit, but because it was an order of over 100 (cost goes down the more you order of the unit). i think if you order just a few things then unit price could be like $2, sometimes more depending on what you need.
communication - they do their service through the alibaba messaging system rather than email, so things happen more in real time. (it IS possible to email i think though, i think i emailed them Once) i also asked me to send a draft out cut lines for the charms and they did (this was the second time i ordered, the first time i didnt ask for it). usually its the same person, ms coco, handling the customer service.Â
freebees: i particularly like them for this reason lol i think they offer free double side printing if i remember correctly? they also have a range of accessories to choose from, like split rings, lobster clasps, and cell phone lanyards, for free. they have special ones you need to pay for, but the basic accessories are free. there’s a chart on the page when you scroll down. also when you receive them in the mail, they are separately packaged in the little plastic bags with the adhesive flap. i just really like not having to buy jump rings and stuff anymore
options: i really wanted glitter epoxy and i couldnt find a place to do it for some reason? but they do it and i like it! i havent received my package yet but ive ordered charms from other artists that have used vograce and i think theyre pretty! i also think if you communicate that you need branding and packaging options, they do that too for extra cost. also they do more than just charms, im getting some standees done w them too (also i dont know if its a standard or just a vograce thing, but glitter epoxy is single sided. the charm itself can have double side printing but the glitter is one side only)
(i dont remember if the link i sent was an epoxy link but if you just send a message and say you want epoxy ms coco will handle it)
i used to use zap creatives but i think vograce prints crisper than them. my stuff always looked fuzzy w zap and i save files the same way w themÂ
cons:
shipping: since theyre based in mainland china, shipping could be a problem. im based in the US, so shipping is anywhere from $17-$45 depending on when i need the package by. so it would suck if you needed just a few things i think, and theres always the typical snail mail problems (ive never had problems with receiving international packages, but anything could basically happen)
communication: since its alibaba and theyre based in china, sometimes its hard to keep up with time difference and respond to messages. i really could only respond a few times a day because theyre so far ahead. one time it was really time sensitive and i was up at 2 am messaging ms coco because i needed to get as much as i could communicated! so basically i could only reply and get responses through the hours of 7 pm and 2 am (remember im PST)
printing: ive had a friend send me photos and it was also verified by my personal experiences (a charm i bought from someone). when companies print double side charms, theres usually a layer of white between the two color layers to prevent overlap and to make color pop. i dont think vograce does that? its incredibly slight and i dont notice it unless im looking extremely hard, but depending on what you print, there could be a teeny bit of see-through where you dont want it. again, it doesnt bother me one bit but it could be a breaking point for some people
communication: im gonna be straight and say they dont always tell you everything you need to know beforehand lol like for example, i was making gold foil charms because they offer gold foil charms. we sorted everything out and right at the end ms coco told me its a $15 charge per design bc they have the make custom moulds for the charms. i had poured too much time into these charms and messaging them that i couldnt back out at that point so i just said yes and paid (i had money set aside so it wasnt a problem, it just came as a surprise). bc of the time difference i just have to say yes to certain stuff bc i dont wanna wait a whole new day for a response but its never stuff im like unprepared to do
ok idk if this is a con but they do all their transactions through paypal but its more like “send the money to this email address” and then u send it and u send them a screenshot for proof that you did it. so that may affect how some people shop w them. ive used a non-vograce supplier for cushions and it was the same way.
