Archeology has been done on the sea floor, if we count tidal flats as sea floor. Though (as far as I understand it) the digging part is both very very time limited and will be undone by the sea as soon as the tide rises again.
Anyway, look up the recent research on Rungholt (drowned medieval town in the Wadden Sea) if you are interested in that kind of thing.
Do you ever think about Doggerland?
Like how fucked up is it that it’s just….. gone.
I tend to forget about it and then when I remember it again I’m like “Oh yeah! There’s like an entire country sized stretch of land that’s just fucking GONE.
well…. “gone”….
#couldn't find the interview from last year again where the researcher said something along the lines of:#“we walk 3h out have 2h for digging and mapping and then have to walk back”#what I COULD find was the article published in Nature just two months ago#suffice to say I was not disappointed with that google search#doggerland#rungholt#not art#though I do have a half finished illustrated calligraphy project of Trutz Blanke Hans (ballad about the drowning of Rungholt)
