hero/villain showdown but one of them has a spontaneous medical emergency and the battle gets put on hold while their archnemesis drives them to Urgent Care

#it should be like. a hernia. or diverticulitis #something intestinal for maximum Awkward Scenario #and the entire car ride alternates between awkward silence and the driver lecturing their nemesis on the importance of regular check-ups #this is funnier if the hero is the one having the hernia tbh. but both options are Very Good #want to emphasize that it is a 'medical emergency ' that is clearly not extreme enough for the emergency room #and the sidekick/henchperson gets stuck in traffic so the hero/villain stays for moral support #they spend 8 hours in the waiting room playing Uno (it devolves into a screaming match)#at the end of the ordeal one of them vows to burn the hospital to the ground with their laser eye powers #and it's Not The One You Think #oh oh oh! ALTERNATIVELY:#it's an allergic reaction; one of them accidentally poisoned the other by using like. soybean derivative in a tranquilizer dart #emphasis on *accidentally*. yes they were technically fighting but That Wasn't Supposed To Happen #so now they're obligated to take responsibility and Stay In The Waiting Room #(can't decide if it's funnier if it's the hero or the villain stuck in this situation)#(probably the villain)#“why didn't you TELL me you were allergic to soybeans???”#“um because you would use it against me in combat?”#“as opposed to NOT telling me! which has worked out fantastic for you!!!”#villain being genuinely offended bc they have a biochemistry degree and have invented literally dozens of untraceable poisons #they have the scientific skill to poison their favorite jackass in hundreds of ways #(and have done so before! in admittedly non-fatal outcomes but that was by design okay)#but it's “dangerous” to do them the simple curtesy of informing them about a SOY ALLERGY????#above all else they consider themself a scientist #and they're LIVID that their favorite (reluctant) test subject lied about their medical history #“technically i didn't LIE--#“I read you the questionnaire! the very first time i held u hostage i READ YOU THE QUESTIONNAIRE!!!”#“...the what now”#“the MEDI--holy shit you weren't even paying attention were you #i had you bound and gagged over an ACTUAL BUBBLING ACID PIT and you couldn't even be bothered to--#“--so i was obviously a bit BUSY at that moment! I'm sorry i ignored your VILLAINOUS MONOLOGUING while the BLOOD WAS RUSHING TO MY HEAD but

#hahaa one more ungulate!#special place in my heart for okapis #at one time when I was a kid we had a play where we were different animals (there wasn't any end goal we just I guess played the circle of #life we had seen in nature documentaries with my friends by running around in gardens and forest) Anyway you couldn't pick same animal as #someone else and a couple of my friend were always fighting who could be horse bc we all were horse girls more or less #so I decided to avoid the drama on my part by going though animal books and finding The Cool Horse Okapi to be my animal #(I knew okapis weren't horses but their shape appealed to my horse girl heart) (but they were also different than everone else's favourite #animal so it was cool) (I think my friends thought it just looked weird and not horse which is the cool and beautiful animal)#(and that was the first sign of me not being cishet I guess)

#pokemon #pokemon ruby and sapphire #hoenn #gen 3 #flygon #aquanutart #i made this in the dead of winter a couple of years ago #after wanting for the whole year to enter the tcg illustration contest but i ended up working on something at the last minute as usual #i don't like competition but i enjoy having a reason to draw a pokemon with a lot of other people #i was waking up early before work to keep making progress on it but i thought i wasn't going to make the deadline #and when i had just decided i had done as much as i could and couldn't get it finished #i went out on that cold snowy day and on that day and that day only for some reason my car wouldn't start #we tried starting it with jumper cables but i'm not sure i know how to use them.. anyway i had to call someone and wait for them to come #i had to call in late to work and then i was waiting for two hours. which was just about enough time for me to keep working on this #i was able to submit it seconds before the deadline the next morning #and it's very cool to me that i was able to participate even though i didn't place (i'm actually glad i didn't place)#(because i would rather it go to someone who worked longer on their entry and/or started earlier before the deadline)#(i just wanted to join everyone in drawing a pokemon but i would prefer for it to just be its own thing and not compared to other pokemon)#this is partly why it's cool to me to have the tcg cards from the contest i also entered!#i chose to draw flygon because gen 3 is one of my favorites and i grew up in the desert and always wanted to imagine pokemon running around #that was the last era of my childhood before i moved and had to grow up where everything was new and different #for 12 years overseas i was homesick for this sun #i'm in a snowier place now but i see the sun even in winter so i'm happy!#since drawing this i appreciate and notice flygon a lot more! i always thought trapinch was very cute #i love the scene in twilight wings final episode when flygon is looking around and scanning; it's so cool #and because of this i got very excited to see flygon in the pokearth documentary flying like a dragonfly #i had wanted to imagine it landing a bit like a bug
