the STORY BEATS in todays episode of dimension 20: burrows end are absolutely insane. the slow tension of exploring this strange dead rock world and the intrigue of the prey. the excitement and the dread of all this food in one place working to drive the tension ever higher and then. and then. MEGAFAUNA. strange behaviors and stranger tools for entirely eldritch purposes. A HERD OF MORE PEOPLE THAN YOUVE EVER SEEN. the call of the wild and freedom and investigarion. LIGHTNING. intervening in something you fundamentally do not understand that nonetheless you understand will end in disaster if you do not act, and succeeding. being heard. a child would like for his mother and aunt to help someone please. a fallen warrior goes unnamed in the night. an act of kindness buys the mother, sister, and children the possibility of safety and rest. hold on hey grandma would like to kill that megafauna please. grandma is a battle hardened warrior who moves with great efficiency toward a common goal but. oh shit? maybe grandma does have self control issues. nerves on top of addrenaline on top of confusion. erika thinks quick and the nervousness passes. the group reforms and the addrenaline passes. now all everyone can think about is the confusion and shit starts getting addressed but BUT the world is so much bigger than they ever could have imagined. every question makes more questions, every topic is an entire conversation (they have to be introduced to the concept of thousands and im obsessed with that as a theme tbh) but they are safe. we feel secure. we are assured that an amount of safety and stability has been found. then we go inside and there are two thousand stoats literally just that they can see and our family is so so small. the world is enormous. and there are monsters who want to destroy that world. what. What. What??????? holy shit. yeah id fucking scream as soon as aabria said the episode is over too
