Kai Smith

Age: 17 || Grade: 11 || Arcana: Chariot || Persona: Li -> Shukuyuu (Ultimate) + Wildcard (Limited) || Trans-Masc. Genderfluid (Any Pronouns)

Kai and his sister Nya moved to Ninjago City after they were accepted into Yang's Boarding School for the Gifted. Compared to most of his peers at the school, Kai is much more academically challenged and is considered a troublemaker by his teachers. It seems he would rather do the bare minimum than pick up a book or show up for class on time.

Underneath that careless attitude, Kai is a fairly responsible and kind-hearted individual. Losing their parents at a young age led Kai to raising his younger sister mostly on his own out in their countryside hometown. He worked tirelessly to pass the school's entrance exam just so Nya wouldn't be on her own in the city. That same kindness was shown when he first met Lloyd and attempted to help the young boy get home safely at night.

Of the team, Kai was the first to awaken his initial Persona, Li (the first man to discover fire in some Chinese legends.) Shortly after meeting Wu he learns that he is capable of wielding the Wildcard ability, but quickly learns that his version of the ability is very limited. Due to his upbringing, he has a difficult time allowing others into his heart, thus stunting his power. As of now the only other Personas he is able to use are those of the Empress Arcana, thanks to his bond with Nya, but perhaps he'll gain more power as he learns to open up to his new friends.
