Hewo~! I'm a new blogger here, and I can't help but want to get a quick-start into the WHB(What in hell is bad?) otome game! I write and post memes here.

I think that your conclusion is a very plausible one. Talking about Kanato: yes, he can """love""", the problem is that we are drooling over him so hard, with the idea of the Kanato we want in our head that sometimes we forget what Kanato would really do, our fantasies sometimes don't let us think in an objective way.

So unfortunately, he wouldn't know how to love in a more traditional way (at least not in HDB...) and it could be for a few reasons:

1. He's a freaking vampire. And an unstable one. In order to have the minimum chance of him loving a regular human like us he needs some therapy. Maybe electroshock would do the trick. But before that? No way (😢)

2. He sees himself as a superior being. Have someone watched Invincible? (What a good show). In Invincible the father of the main protagonist, Omniman, is a being from other planet with OP superpowers. He considers himself superior to humans, and because of that, he doesn't see his wife as an equal, more like some kind of pet. A dog, maybe, would be the closest animal of what he has in mind? Even tho he married her, that doesn't matter to him, its just some stupid paper and some dumb celebration, he's still superior in his mind.

The same for Kanato. Even if in the good ending in HDB or in heaven scenarios Yui becomes a vampire like Kanato, he still has the control, the power. What kind of power? His strong point: manipulation.

He can manipulate people soooo good (shouting, fake tears, blaming, that voice of him that would drench your panties in milliseconds...) that Yui has no chance of beating him in his twisted mind game. She'll always ALWAYS be below him like... a dog. Woof.

3. He doesn't see Yui/us as a special, unique being that could suit his tastes, a person to call his partner, no. He starts getting interested in us because he sees us... as a replacement...for Cordelia. 😡 Fuck you purple gremlin.

I remind you that I'm basing all my points in the Haunted Dark Bridal game because that's the game where we can find main/original/authentic Kanato, at least for me. I say this because Kanato has been "soften" (is this well written? ⊙﹏⊙") in order to attract a wider range of possible fans, in HDB he was waaaay to demonic for a lot of the fans' tastes, but fuk' em, that's the Kanato I fell for.

He gets nostalgic with Yui's/Cordelia's essence and he felt so so lonely that he used her as a mere tool. She, as a person, doesn't matter. It could be whoever, any other human girl would had done the trick. Because the only thing important to him is her blood and her body.

Aaaaand why did I ended up talking about all of the above?? I wanted to talk about sex (• ▽ •;) oh it doesn't matter, we reached the point anyways.

What Kanato is famous for. He has sex with the MC more than any other boy in the saga. And why? Why does he has sex with us? Mmmm... Let's think 🤔

Getting deeper, it's a way for proclaiming that someone's is your possession. That girl (Yui in this case) was pure, innocent, a girl from the church. She didn't know what it feels to lay with a man, everything was new for her... But then these motherfukers with fangs arrive. Kanato knows what this means, of course he does. He fucks her with that intention in mind, no because he loves Yui, how could he? She's just a human. He's just marking her to tell other vampires that this territory has been conquered (territory = pussy = girl djdjjsjs it's so sexist I can't-).

She's no longer a girl from the church, she has to give up her religion in order to become his object, because she has been MARKED.

And what would happen if she runs away from him? (Imagine that she manages to do it djdjdj). Then she would be considered a slut. For vampires, of course. She's no other thing than other vampire's prey. It's like having to carry a label all your life that has "this human belongs to _____" written on it. Some women wouldn't care (cofcofCordeliacofcof) but Yui's to pure for that. Sex is something very intimate for her, like a secret that has to be locked away. But nooooo because vampires can freaking smell it in her essence. She's now exposed for everyone to know about this little secret. And Kanato knows. And he loves it.

In Kanato's maniac route, before Kanato and Yui 👉👌, Laito tells Yui something between the lines "it looks like you are no Kanato's, at least no completely" and later he tells Kanato "if you don't hurry up someone might steal her from you, you know?"

Laito is warning Kanato. I think he has the minimum decency for giving him the ultimate warning.

"If you don't mark her, someone will. I will."

And here you go, a few chapters later Kanato is raping poor Yui in the forest, near a beautiful, breathtaking lake. Isn't that romantic? 💖

I read in one of @papuru666 analysis of Kanato that he has sex a lot in order to produce oxitocin, a happy hormone and I think an addictive one. And yes, of course, he's sad af so sex and sweets may do the trick. But the main reason he would ever have the idea of having relations with a human, bride, whatever, is because he's really interested in that person (as a blood bag of course, or at least as a slave), to the point of not wanting to share. If you are just a regular human you could be stabbed to death and he wouldn't bat an eye. At all.

Buuuuut if you are a high quality prey or if you remind him of his dear Cordelia weeeell... I hope you are also into him because he's a predator and would have no mercy with you.

The first time will be rough. Very rough. 0 pleasure. And he couldn't care less. As I said, it's just a way for telling other men that you are his now. Even if you don't want that. Even if you love someone else, now you are eternally his...How cruel, honestly.

Even if he wants to be loved, and to be touched, so so badly he is too suspicious of everyone to let that happen. So he made a whole new person based on the fear of abandonment. The Kanato that he once was doesn't exist anymore. The only thing that's lest is an empty shell. A monster.

A monster who would proclaim his love, who will promise love, to a girl who is innocent enough to believe in his words and that could be easily manipulated. That's all he needs to make you believe that you are special as a human being... But don't get fooled.

So, here it is, the post you’ve all been waiting for! I’m sorry It took me a while to finally type this up. This is my Halloween present to you all~ Happy Halloween everybody~! 

I’ve been thinking about Kanato a lot. You all know I kin him, he lives rent free in my head. I think about him all the time. I see people write fanfiction with him and analyze him in a way that is absolutely amazing. Kanato is simply a broken vampire, who’s lack of love and attention and also a mixture of insanity makes him the vampire he is. And oh while I’m thinking about it… READ PAPURU’S FANFICTION RIGHT F-ING NOW >:( Thank you. It’s amazing. Anyways. 

So, yet again, I’ve been thinking. My mind Is always reeling, you see. It never stops.

Is it even possible for Kanato Sakamaki to fall in love with a human girl? As in, a bride that has come into the Sakamaki Mansion? 

Well… No. Not normally. 

Now, before you simps and stans run away crying, your hopes and dreams crushed, hear me out. 

Notice how I said “Not Normally?” Yes, I chose my words very VERY carefully. 

Kanato Sakamaki is NOT normal, in any way, shape or form. He is a narcissist, through and through. Very self involved. He would not view the bride as a person. I talked about before that he views the bride as a means of control and power. A way to fulfill his ego, since he is seen as one of the weaker vampires in his estate. He’ll feel fulfilled once he has a hold on a human being, no matter how little it’ll last. Having control over someone else- Or the idea he has control- remember, he can’t control how someone feels, ever, and that’s hard for him. So control over a specific situation or him being in denial about him having control… Or him like, alienating the bride from his brothers. That kinda stuff. Do you get what I’m trying to say? My brain hurts… 

Kanato thinks Humans are below him. Vampires have a very classed-base way of thinking. Humans are degrading, food, idiots, pathetic, weak individuals. 

He tells us “If you want to get to know me, Understand me better.”

 Like…? Sir, If I can’t understand you, how can I get to know you? If I don’t know you, how can I understand you? From any human’s perspective, it makes no sense. See the conundrum? It’s there on purpose. Kanato is NOT stupid, guys. He is a very tactical person. He has hard walls up, and he is a very difficult person to read. But, since I KNOW Kanato, through and through, I KNOW he does that on purpose. He likes to play games, and this is one of them. Mind games are Kanato’s specialty (As seen through his ENTIRE HDB route- this guy stages Yui to be in the hardest situation possible and is able to twist stories and variables PERFECTLY. It’s sickening. Is he a Manipulator? Absolutely. 100%. Yes. But sadly, it’s all he knows how to do, in order to get what he “Think” he needs), but this is also a symbol of his insecurity of letting anyone close to him. Trust issues? A HUGE problem. He’s very paranoid, you see. 

So, in order for him to love someone, his mental health issues would have to be addressed at some point. BY HIMSELF.  NOT BY YUI OR KANATO’S FAMILY. She tries this in I believe it’s the second ending in HDB and it ends badly for her… She gets turned into a doll ;3; poor baby. 

But before that, Kanato would need a bride that would accept him for him. And I mean, wholeheartedly. Kanato is a hard devil to crack, since, you know, he expects you (Humans, brides, everyone) to know what he wants, needs, craves, ect. Like in the Anime, he tells Yui “Get me something to drink I’m thirsty” and when she gives him Coffee he LOSES HIS MIND and like… never told her he doesn't like bitter things. He just expected her to know. Hard when, you know, YOU DON’T COMMUNICATE. (As a kinnie i can confirm I do in fact have this issue and I’m working on being better at communication but just…. Figure it out guys XD) 

But even if he wasn’t healed, he can “Love” in his own way. He does end up marrying Yui in one of the endings of HDB. Well… Does he do this to “Love” her? Or is he staking a claim on her, like a piece of meat at the Butcher shop? 

It’s both, guys, and maybe even more tiny ideas mixed in there with it. 

Remember how I said he can love in his OWN way? Yeah. Vampires have their own norms, ideas, traditions, and culture. I KNOW KNOW KNOW KNOW that it means they also have their own love language. They have to, right? Every culture has their own idea about marriage and love and how they show it. So why can’t vampires? 

So, deeper into lore I go~ 

What are Vampire’s love languages~? Just listing my ideas. I will explain more and relate them to each diaboy later, I promise. Pinkie promise. 

I can name 4 or 5 off the top of my head right now. 

Death - Laito said basically “Since I love you, let me kill you, okay~? Nufufuf”. Death is not something to be feared to Vampires, but something that’s like, sexualized in a weird way. Another journey? Like… Idk man, my brain is fried. 

Submission- This is so self explanatory. But I’m also really really lazy right now so I’ll make another post talking about this in depth.
