Lamb design for a friend based off of this post!

Their name is Ovi.

Ovi’s hair and horns were cut during their imprisonment by the Old Faith. The Red Crown decided that, instead of being a crown, they would be the normal “crown” for sheep: their horns. The size and shape of them depends on Ovi’s mood, whether or not they’re in danger, and a few undiscovered deciding factors.

Because the Red Crown has basically integrated into their biology (for now) there are a few changes that happened over time. Ovi’s teeth grew sharp as well as their hoofed “fingers” becoming claws. Yes, this means they have a preference for claws as their main weapon.

As of now, Ovi is still near the beginning of their journey and has not yet released Narinder. Their hair is shorter and held in a couple of braids to keep it out of the way. As time goes on, the hair will grow into the full mane it would have been before capture. The growth rate of their hair has become faster, healthier, due to the Crown’s influence so they have to keep up on trimming.

They’re based off of a St. Croix sheep! Those guys are hair sheep rather than wool sheep. The hair around their necks tends to be the longest so I integrated the length into a braid that half hangs in front and the other half in back. It’s really thick.

St. Croix sheep are not meat sheep. They’re usually lean beneath their hair so I kept the design kind of thin rather than the usual pudgy I would draw my own Faust.

Fun fact: St. Croix are also called the “Virgin Island White” so take from that what you will.

So... I made a thing.

I've been working on trying to make a Lamb design, so I drew a shit-ton of different design options that I can mix and match to try out different looks. It's by no means exhaustive, and I may add more options if I end up thinking of them, but feel free to use if you think it'd be helpful. Also, if you have any suggestions for interesting combos I should try, send me a message/comment/ask/etc! (idk what the right method of communication for something like this is lol)

Here's a test I did with Eye 4, Pupil 3, Nose 5, Ear 7, Face 3, Hair 3, and Horns 5.

Can’t believe i forgot to share them with yall. Have Noctulm, aka my Lamb.

The only living creatures who knows their true name are Narinder, their business partner/ex-god, and Jacrul, the former vessel of the forsaken purple crown. Lamb has threatened people for simply wanting to guess it, they keep their enemies close but their name closest. They don’t like the moniker Lamb, of course, but no one has come up with a nickname they liked better.

(The au might go on pause for maintenance while we wait for the co-op update, we’ll see. Depends on if they make lore for the goat or not.)

This design is not permanent, but i like it for now. The forked horns are really the only thing that will definitely stay.

MINOR SPOILERS FOR THE MAIN STORY STUFF AFTER THE END OF MY AU BELOW

Noctulm’s arc is planned to be a bumpy road from having to force away any kindness and compassion they held for others their whole life, to learning how to feel comfortable and vulnerable enough around certain people that they can open up and start helping others. I plan on writing them as low-empathy, so don’t assume they will suddenly know the solution to people’s woes without referencing their own experiences. That’s what the other vessels are for, after all. Jacrul is the one everyone knows to be loving and empathetic, they don’t see why they need to pretend to be like him, even if he’s no longer a god like them.

Besides, he accepted the golden skull. He’ll be around for a long time, to help them carry on where they can’t, whether he likes it or not.
