When all the Arcane s2 episodes are released, I will finally start redesigning Jocasta (my OC) and rewriting her story. More precisely, I have finished with the design (it remains to draw. I am at the sketch stage), I have stopped writing the story for now, because I need to find out the events of the entire 2nd season in order to continue writing her story. I am also working on the stories of Viktor and Jocasta in two of my AU (Nine-Tailed Demon [Cyberpunk AU] and Gods and Mortals [AU inspired by Genshin Impact, specifically the story and aesthetics of Liyue]). In general, the work is in full swing) I am also working on skin designs for Jocasta in different skinlines. List of skinlines:

Favourite skinline: Star Guardian has a special place in my heart. Even though I have my complaints, it was one of the things that made me into a full writer for League.

📱- This post will be a disaster because mobile but. Thinking about how… rito seems scared to do anything serious and edgy with Xayah and Rakan sometimes. At least when it comes to new verses. Broken covenant is close with Rakan, giving him a bit of a twist… but it’s kind of yet another skinline that Xayah is semi shafted.

And I’m saying this as someone who actually enjoys most of Xayah’s skins… but it feels like the stories crafted for them are so… surface level and vanilla these days.

Corrupted SG is the best skin not just because of the looks but it felt like the best reflection of the two.

Mainverse Xayah is not fully a hero. She is willing to let innocents die for her cause, she’s bitter and hateful. Rakan follows her while also keeping her in line but will do what he needs to her for her. Which corrupted SG reflects. Every other skin so far has like. Half heartedly attempted to make Xayah a neutral character where she’s neither the hero nor the villain, but idk it feel like they diminish what makes her exciting and mellow her out at the same time. She and Rakan are stripped of sounding dangerous and cool and left just being the forbidden love story… arcana, cosmic, broken covenant (didn’t start out forbidden I guess but lol), elderwood… even sg in a way because they were on opposing sides for most of the time lol.

Like. They can have this love story but we can make it something different, rito. And spice them up, give them their threat, their dynamic of Xayah being callous and kind of an anti-hero and Rakan a powerful not-just-the-boyfriend-who-needs-to-be-saved.

I have a lot of interest in broken covenant partially because I want to take the basics and make them way more intriguing because right now Xayah is once again just there to save Rakan lol.

And like another thought (I’m spaghetti braining right now don’t at me), they’re gunna be nerfed so fucking hard if they’re used anymore in SG just because they’re not corrupted anymore I bet. Like the two of them held off two teams of guardians alone and together while evil and they’ve learned to use their dark powers so theoretically they should now be some of the strongest of the guardians

But you know… you just know they’re gunna just be there and undermined/ignored/weakened because “lol they’re no longer needed to be the big baddies”

Outside of sweetheart, I don’t hate the skins really but. I feel like rito just throws them in half the time rather than really representing their characters and then they wonder why lol people think they’re annoying and nothing more - all this potential and they’re reduced to just their relationship 80% of the time in any skin not main. Their relationship is SUPER important but the dynamic and the balance is lacking a lot.

I saw this ask come in out of nowhere and was like!!! a fellow league lore enthusiast!!! It makes me so happy that you'd be interested in my little WIPs, it made my DAY! Gosh I'm still trembling typing this.

Hmm some of those fics are really small so maybe what I'll do here is post them all below the cut (for links to posts for the bigger ones, text itself for the smaller ones), along with some "writer's commentary" to explain what they're about. Feel free to read/ignore whatever you choose!

Sett/Aphelios heartsteel drabble is posted on Tumblr here! Just a small scene of Aphelios and Sett as they work on their upcoming concept album.

Jayce/Viktor Arcane Mr. Freeze AU is posted on Tumblr here! It takes place right after the Arcane season 1 ending and Viktor decides to cryofreeze Jayce. I have a LOT more notes on this one if you're interested - this was supposed to be a sprawling multi-chapter fic I committed to but I never came back to it.

Zed/Karma darkstar/odyssey AU is posted on Tumblr here! This one's a sprawling one too, including Odyssey Zed and Karma, Dark Star Karma, Dark Cosmic Jhin, and Cosmic Queen Ashe (at some point - all I have are quick scenes). Depicts the fall of Zed as he becomes consumed by the Ora - High Templar Karma decides to do whatever it takes to stop him... even if that means using the power of a Dark Star.

Sona and Ezreal psyops drabble is posted on Tumblr here! I love the Psyops skinline so much, so a small scene between two weapons who have made their own way in the world.

Pulsefire Ezreal is posted here! The prequel to number 5 - Ezreal was the first to escape Viktor's Psyops and has a hard time with the existential dread that entails... until a peppy, Pulsefire clone appears on his doorstep. The scene is just their first encounter.

I couldn't find my Diana and Aphelios interlude... but essentially this was Aphelios going on a search for Diana and being ambushed by Solari, causing his connection with Alune to be severed. When he wakes up, he finds Diana. He has to decide whether to bring Diana in to the Lunari by force or work with her to reconnect with Alune. It's a shame, I loved planning this one out.

Kayn and Yone dawnbringer/nightbringer drabble: As Yone fights to find his place in the struggle between gods and mortals, he encounters Kayn, who's facing the same dilemma a very different way. Here Kayn has just Umbral Trespassed into his mind, much to Yone's ire:

Kayn is unamused. "Huh. You lived."

His expression doesn't change when he's forced against the wall. Yone's eyes simmer black with anger as he presses the demon blade against the demigod's neck.

"How dare you trespass-"

"And for a moment I thought we could have a useful partnership. You're nothing but a man with a lingering brother complex."

"ENOUGH!" The blade slips against Kayn's throat, and golden ichor beads from the wound.

Gold blood, dripping from Yasuo's arm...

While he drowns in red.

Yone staggers back, hollow eyes looking far into the distance. Kayn scans his frame, scoffing as he sees Yone's fingers tremble. The demon sword clangs onto the ground and vanishes in a flash of dark smoke.

"I believe our meeting is over," Kayn says, wiping a rough palm across his throat. As the wound begins to close, the scythe in his hand glows an eerie white. "I'll at least wish you well in your endeavor, hopeless as it may be."

Kayn's eyes glaze over as his entire body turns ethereal, casting unholy shadows against the crumbling walls. "Farewell, mortal fool," he scoffs, and then he is gone, slipping under the shadows of the setting sun.

9. And last but not least but the Shaco backstory! Very short - I didn't write the sad part when Shaco becomes corrupted lol

Now, even people back then hated clowns. They were eerie folks, who dressed up in garish robes and baggy, dirty pants. And some of them weren't even human. So when Shaco was created, he became the immediate source of gossip amongst the nobles. What was the king thinking, giving something so crude and sinister to his ailing child? As Shaco wandered the palace halls, a permanently smiling face painted on his wooden frame, all he received in return were scowls and furtive glances. There were numerous times when he was stolen straight from the prince's hands. A bad luck charm, they said. The prince's final escort to the underworld, they said. But Shaco did not care. He had his friend. And if his friend would laugh for him, that was enough.

Okay not to shade anyone, seriously, but it is actually slightly frustrating to see people ragging on league of legends being a top artist for a couple reasons. One is bc of Arcane like people definitely are listening to arcane’s soundtrack a lot and it’s a great soundtrack

But also bc like? The music that riot puts out for league is genuinely amazing. To the point where fans consistently joke about Riot being a music company that just uses league to promote their music. And it feels demeaning to the people who put their heart and soul into some of the music that is put out there. Jhin the Virtuoso is an actually technically stunning piece that encapsulates a character perfectly. Viego The Ruined King is hauntingly beautiful. The singing in both Taliyah and Aphelios’s themes is absolutely lovely. The music put out for the Porcelain, Odyssey, and Dark Cosmic skinlines are all amazing.

Like it’s video game music. It’s video game music made with love and care to actually tell a story for the characters. Riot sucks, League is a bad game, we can all joke about that, and I couldn’t care less, but this feels genuinely demeaning to these musicians and artists who obviously poured their hearts into creating this music. League’s music isn’t the shitty game. It’s good music that was made by people who care about music. It’s not a shitty cash grab. It’s not nearly as empty as people are acting like. Idk this just feels insulting to the composers.

I really like the mix of "victorian era" style and machinery.

The thing is,they already used themes I like. I like the spooky Tim Burton style? There's fright night.

Cosmic/star pattern?Same. There's already a skinline.

Maids?Same

Magical girl?Uh-uh you bet they did.

Maybe something inspired by Yoshi Woolly world?

Maybe a silly job one? Because I really would love a weather report Viktor with a thunder cloud for the Ulti but if I'm not wrong there's already Janna.

I also like fairytales and fables but I forgot if they already did that too. Was there a Warwick one at some point?

I think a lot of people want odyssey back, but I have a feeling it's not in a way that riot can and will hear it (if they ever do).

Right now the Odyssey skinline is rotting in a bin because the second batch of skins failed at being profitable and that what made Riot think odyssey was dead when in fact it is not. The sci-fi inspiration was pretty hit or miss, first batch hit but the second missed but damn did odyssey Kayn hit the spot. That skin is still considered by many as League's best skin because it has what makes a good skin: sticking design and great characterisation.

No, skins don't need fancy add-ons like a kill counter on taunt or a special UI and especially so if it makes the skin more expensive. Soul Fighter Samira, in my opinion, feels too similar to its original version. The latest Ahri skin has the audacity to be around 500 USD while barely being more than an average ultimate skin like gun godess Miss Fortune. These more recent skins feel half baked and overpriced, yet when we just look back four years ago with Psy ops Sona we had borderline ultimate skin features in a legendary priced skin. Odyssey Kayn was no exception to this legendary price-ultimate skin feel trend, and that is what made League unique and what League needs right now.

The problem is, we can't have another odyssey skin that will ever match the quality of Kayn's. So what I think riot needs to do is to stop expanding the cast of characters of this universe and make a comic or another game or even as Skyen said, a series. The lore of the Odyssey universe is enough to make a decent plot, and that even if you put aside the fact that the cosmic universe and Star guardian universe are linked with it.

Riot as gold in their hands and they have already shown that they can make good use of it with Arcane. If they really want to make the best money out of their franchise, they really have to utilize the Odyssey universe because everyone loves it and it is begging to be something more than a forgotten project.

I never got any of the Odyssey critters so I will just draw them and the crew instead (・`ω´・)
