“You’re supposed to be in your tour van. Your bandmates would kill us when they find us here,” you chuckled, sipping the milkshake.
He shakes his head, disagreeing. Smiling, he corrects you, “They will not be mad at you, love. It’s only me who they’ll scold.”
With his leather jacket on your shoulders, you sit back and wrap yourself tighter in the thick cloth around you. A fond smile grows on your face, finding the man — with tousled hair and tight polo with folded sleeves on the elbows — very endearing, despite the contrast to his appearance. “Right, I’ll be an exception to the guys.” you rolled your eyes.
“I always tell them it’s all on me.” He picks up and eats a piece from the basket of french fries. “I won’t let them blame you as well if I’m the one who’s constantly pulling you to restaurants and diners after every show.”
“Like what we’re doing right now? Yeah, I think they know already. They don’t even have to think for a second.” You lean forward and take a sip once again. Minho snickers at the sight of you sipping nothing — you haven’t realized you finished your milkshake already, and you’re taking air only.
Confused by your beloved’s expression, you raise your eyebrow in question. Minho answers you, “There’s nothing in that glass anymore.”
You look down at the glass and see there’s still that tiny drop left that you’ve been trying to get. You shake your head. “I just want to finish this milkshake until the last drop. There’s a tiny bit there that I still want to get!”
Minho shakes his head and laughs. “You’ve drunk most of it already. It’s time to let that go. I think I should bring you home already,” he said before he reached for your hand. He hears you puff, and he laughs once again.
You softly hold his hand back and roll your eyes — an action that Minho thinks you got from him rolling his eyes with the members frequently whenever he pretends to dislike his bandmates’ affection. “Sure, dad.”
The two of you walk back home under the moonlight with the biggest smiles. It has been a while since Minho took you out since he had to return to the tour for a few weeks. He finally did what he wanted now that the constant singing and guitar playing was over.
With Minho’s arm wrapped around you, you touch his hand on your shoulder and look at him. “Should we just go back to your bus and grab your things? Go back there after dropping me off at home.”
Both of you stop walking after your question. Minho hums and answers without hesitation, “The boys told me they’ll go home tomorrow since they’re exhausted. I think I can go back there tomorrow. My bags will stay there untouched.”
You pinch his cheek and ask, “And where do you think you’re going without your things?” You know the answer already, but you want Minho to say it word by word.
“I’ll be staying with you for the night, obviously.” He tightens his arm around you and pecks your head. “I finally get to spend some time with you. I should cherish that time before we have to work on a new album.”
Understanding his circumstances, you hum in contentment. Though, an idea makes your head turn to him. You suggest something to him, “You can stay in my apartment for a bit. It doesn’t have to be one night.” Do you think he’d be ecstatic?
Yes.
He happily nods. Minho does enjoy prancing around the four walls of your apartment. Aside from bringing his cats over to hear your squeals and see your grins, he just loves some good bonding time with you where you are most comfortable. If he has his guitar with him, he’d spend your afternoons serenading you with the cheesiest love songs and his soft voice to tease you and your warm cheeks. He’s always been aware of the effect of his soft voice whenever you’re with him. It’s a total contrast to his powerful voice when he has lines to sing with Jisung, Changbin, and Chan onstage.
“Absolutely! I’m glad you told me that. I wanted to spend my whole break with you, of course,” Minho scratches his head with his free hand. “I don’t want to barge in or overstay without your approval.”
Gasping, you pull him with all of your might, also wrapping your arm around Minho’s back. “It’s fine, Minho. You can stay whenever you want. No need to ask for permission because you’re living with me at this point.” You giggled as you feel yourself get warmer with your arms around each other’s backs.
When the two of you reached your home, prepared yourselves for bed. It was an hour of doing your own things with peaceful silence.
The talking began when you finally settled in your bed, blankets wrapping you both.
Minho breaks the silence. “By the way, how was the final show?” He awaits your answer by reaching for your hand as usual and pulling it under the blankets to kiss it.
You can’t help but laugh at the sight. “Sorry, I just can’t believe you’re like this outside of the stage.” And your thought’s not wrong. He does show a different side of himself whenever he’s onstage. The sharp eyes, the fierce energy, and the teasing personality — it all disappears whenever he’s with you.
Not to mention, he’s looking at you with the brightest eyes and the softest look on his face right now. You can’t seem to comprehend that Minho as a guitarist differs from Minho as your significant other.
“About the show though, I loved it, as usual. Your shows really hit differently here in our hometown. Your guitar solo almost made me ascend.” Your last comment made you giggle together. “You’re the coolest person out there. I cannot believe I’m with one of the best guitarists and vocalists out there, you know? I love how you always enjoy being on stage with the boys.” You shared your thoughts while playing with Minho’s fingers.
Minho melts, unable to respond right away. He loves hearing your thoughts about the band’s shows. Even if you say the same things, your words never fail to touch his heart and make him love you even more.
“Thank you so much, _____. I’m joyful that you got to see our last show. It’s one of the most memorable shows we ever had. You got to be a part of it and see everything that happened,” he hushed, sleepiness finally kicking him in.
You pull him into your embrace and feel his lips on yours. “Thank you for letting me in your best moments. I’ll always be there, hopefully, to make everything better.” You combed his hair away from his face and also leave a kiss on his forehead.
“You’re also a part of every single memorable moment I ever had. And I am very sure that you will always be the reason I even get to experience such things.”
You two fell into a deep slumber in each other’s arms and comfort. Inarguably, it was Minho’s best snooze ever since he had to continue the tour. You, on the other hand, lost that feeling of loneliness. The two of you really proved that sleeping with each other’s the best method for great rest.
That is why Minho’s not surprised that he woke up with you holding onto his shirt and your head on his chest. He held you in his arms for another hour until he got out of bed carefully, make some breakfast, and go back to the tour bus to take his things.
Supposedly, he’s going to message his bandmates. But his phone’s lock screen greeted him with several notifications.
chan: minho, i know you’re with _____
chan: i already returned to our apartment, no need to get your stuff back in the tour bus because i also brought your bags back here
chan: though, if you want to help jisung and changbin get out of bed, feel free to do so since they’re still staying in the bus
jisung: HEY! i’m up already! i’m gonna leave changbin here :p see you in two weeks guys!
chan: you’re not going back after two weeks
chan: you visited minho and i after he stayed in with _____ for a solid week, you cannot survive without us
jisung: ugh stop exposing me!
jisung: bye :DD love u all
chan: lol love u jisung
chan: your coffee beans will always wait for you here!
Minho chuckles. He mumbles to himself, “I guess I can stay in bed a little longer.”
He walks back to your bed, lying down to leave a text to his bandmates.
minho: take care of my guitar! i’ll get it later when i go get groceries for dinner!
chan: sigh… we just finished tour! don’t tell me you’re back to writing songs again </3
minho: nope :p i have something to do with it that has nothing to do with that!
All he plans is to serenade you again, anyway. He thought it’d be great to give you another show just for you to see.
He lists down some songs in his notes as his “alternative set list” — which he wrote as the title of the note — as he waits for you to wake up to the smell of your aromatic breakfast.
Though, you wake up to Minho trying hard not to squeal over the songs he listed. He knows you’d either cringe or obsess over his performances later, but he is sure that you’ll enjoy them, regardless.
Minho drops his phone to the side table and greets you with a beautiful smile on his face. He brings himself to your body. “Good morning, my love!”

Rewatched Lazarus Rising yesterday but I couldn't finish it til today. Here's a list of all my thoughts
Can't believe they just buried Jensen like okay
The shot of his hands coming out of the grave >>>
The way Dean's shadow is all tall, lean and hunched like a monster
The angel flappy wing title is so yesss
Pontiac, Illinois sounds like a place someone would be resurrected
HANDPRINT.
Dean trying to open the register is so funny
They should of had more radios and tvs go crazy around Cas and other angels in future episodes
Jensen jumping on real glass
I can in fact see the plaster
How long do you have to torture souls to become a demon?
"You're about the closest thing I have to a father."
The way Bobby says "Dean" when he realises its him
And the hug.
It's actually breaking my heart with how grateful Bobby looks
Dean we all know you remember Hell so stop lying
The way it's said that Bobby's been struggling with Dean's death
I feel bad for Chrisie and she hasn't even been possessed yet
I love the way "No demon would deal" sounds
He's so excited to see his car.
Sam should have stayed immune to freaky demon powers
They should have kept Pamela around. Have her like psychic mentor Sam
I love the way Dean peaks during the seance yoke
Hearing Dean say "Castiel" for the first time is so weird like it doesn't sound natural maybe it's because it isn't "Cas" or because of how he says it, without any of that way he says it y'know.
Dean and Sam not questioning the other's lies because they're lying themselves
Dream a Little Dream of Me would have been good over the seen of Sam in the diner
Demons can smell souls???
A demon said Cas was at the diner so I love to imagine true-form Cas just wandering around Pontiac looking for Dean.
This guy bleeds, the ground quakes. It's cosmic. IT'S COSMIC.
Sparks firing, guns shooting Cas really can make an entrance.
The way Cas says his first line is so early season Cas
Also the way Dean says "yeah, thanks for that"
Stab the love of your life I guess
Season 4 Cas my beloved.
He's so cute and little and ughhhhhhhh
The way he flips through the book
His problem is having no faith!!!!!
Anyways the way he grows to have faith in Cas not God
His wings flashing
He actually says "Holy tax accountant"
"Good things do happen, Dean." "Not in my experience." "What's the matter? You don't think you deserve to be saved?" AHHHHHHHH
Head tilt alert I repeat head tilt alert
God commanded it and they have work for Dean
Can't believe they just end the episode with THAT

I'm sorry for the softness of this request, I've 😭😭 just thinking about it, wanted to see your take on it...Father Daughter Dance; Orla & Druig or Mother Son Dance; Rory & Mom.
Dad!Druig x Reader
A/n: bestie this has been my hyper fixation since you sent this to me! I made sure to add the reader and druig having a couple moments together ♡ this is also a little self-indulgent bc i'm currently obsessing over a Paolo Sebastian dress and the readers gonna wear it ♡ there's a lot of headcanons I'm so sorry
Druig looked confused as his 10-year-old marched up to him after school and shoved a bright pink flyer to his chest
then he saw her big eyes and matching wide smile
"Can we go, daddy?" she asked excitedly
"Daddy daughter dance?" he questioned, taking another look at the paper
she hummed and nodded happily
he couldn't deny her mother's smile
"I would love to, Orla."
ever since then, she was so excited
counting down the days on the horse calendar that she kept in her room
having him tell her the stories when he took you to the fancy balls
she couldn't wait to dance like that
you, Sersi, and Orla took her to pick out a dress for the dance
it was cute and pink
little white daisies embroidered on the fluffy skirt
she hung it on the door of her closet so she could look at it every day
"My beloved," Druig hummed as he pressed his warm lips to the back of your neck, his hands placed firmly on your sides
you smirked, "What do you want, Dru?"
"Help me make flowers for Orla?"
you gasped with delight and grabbed a vase, placing it in the center of the kitchen table
you were more than happy to help
cosmic energy swirled around your pointer finger as Druig listed Orla's favorite flowers
"Bigger," he said, cocking his head at the arrangement you created
you made it bigger, looking at him for approval
"Bigger," he mumbled
you pointed again, cosmic energy enlarging the flowers
"It's missing something."
"One more point, and it'll be as tall as me. What's wrong with it?"
"Baby's breath."
you raised an eyebrow, "baby's breath?" you repeated
Druig smiled softly, "She's my baby."
a whine escaped your lips, your eyes softening
Druig rolled his eyes and picked up the vase, "Thank you, m'love."
"You look so pretty," you told her as she bounced down the stairs, her bubble ponytail hitting her back with every step
she gasped at the large flowers he had on the living room table for her
Druig smiled triumphantly as she buried her nose in the flowers
"Ready, dad?" she asked happily
Druig looked down at her and almost started crying
"Ready," he managed, his voice only slightly cracking
she was growing up so fast
Orla held his hand the whole time as they walked into the gymnasium
she was quickly pulled away by her friends
Druig fondly smiled as he talked with some of the other fathers he'd made friends with
she caught his eyes and waved at him from her little group
he was more than happy to sit at one of the tables and watch her play
he of course raided the snack table beforehand
offering her one of the items from his pockets every time she came to check on him
"Left or right pocket?"
"Right please," she said, holding her hand out
she shoved the gummy candy in her mouth before running off
Druig, per request of his daughter, taught her some of the Regency era ball dances he remembered from back in the day
he thought it was funny with the modern music in the background
she giggled when he bowed to her
they were in their own little world as she danced with him
he'd do whatever it took to make her smile
once a slow song came on, she dragged him to the middle of the floor
her head rested on his stomach as they swayed back and forth
clasping her arms around his waist
Druig's eyes scanned the room, admiring the humans
"I love you, dad," Orla spoke suddenly
the threat of tears returned, his heart thumped against his ribcage
"I love you too, Orla."
he offered her "real" food at the little diner by the house
"Can we get a milkshake?" she asked, holding onto his hand as they walked to the car
"Only if you let me dip the fries in it."
he tilted his chin upward, his blue eyes looking down at her
"Deal."
she returned the upward chin tilt
Druig carried her back into the house, her soft snores tickling his neck
"How was the dance?" you asked from the kitchen table, your eyes glued to your phone
"She had the best time," he whispered
"And you?" you asked with a smile, finally looking up at him
his grip on her tightened a little, resting his cheek on the top of her head, "It was nice."
he kept it to himself, knowing the day would come when they didn't spend time together like this
he just wanted to treasure the memory
Rory was over the moon, bouncing off the wall when his teacher said there'd be a mother-son dance at school
all this 8 year old wanted to do was show you off
spend some one on one time with you
"Mommy! Mommy can we go? Please, please, please?" He begged as he wrapped his limbs around your leg
you wobbled and placed your hand on the wall to brace yourself
your free hand holding the paper
"Sure, baby," you chuckled, "of course."
it was the only thing Rory would talk about at school
and at home
"Uncle Kingo! Guess where my mom's taking me?" he asked, stealing the phone from his sister
Druig helped him pick out an outfit and did his hair
combing his mop of brown hair back and out of his face
teaching him to tie his little black tie in the mirror
Orla was so excited to help you get ready
"This one!" she squealed as she sprawled out on your bed, showing you a picture in a magazine
you nodded in agreement, "Remember we pay for things, not conjure them, ok?" you gave your disclaimer before transforming into the black tea-length gown
Orla scrunched her nose and nodded happily
"Mom do you have anything else?" she huffed as she rummaged through your jewelry box
you turn around from your vanity and placed one more bobby pin in your updo
"Anything is fine, honey. It's just a school dance."
"It's more than that to Rory and you know that."
you grimaced at her smug smile, "fine."
you waked to the closet and pulled out an old, long jewelry box that rested in the back
"Holy shit," she gasped as you opened it
"Language," you scolded
she was in awe of the display of fancy jewels you collected over your existence on earth, dating back to your time in Babylon
"These."
she finally picked out simple teardrop pearls from the 18th century
"Your dad got me these from a French duchess," you explained fondly as you put them on
"Ok! She's coming," Orla told them as she ran down the stairs
Rory grinned as Druig lovingly rubbed his shoulders from behind
Druig instantly recognized the earrings as you walked down the stairs
truth be told he was rendered speechless
"You look so pretty!" Rory gasped as he ran to hug you, "can we go now?"
"Druig?" you question as your eyes met his, you wanted to laugh at his blushing face
all he wanted to do was touch your glowing skin and ruin the red lipstick you wore with kisses
once you stood up he wrapped his arm around your waist, his fingers pressing into your lower back, "You're beautiful, m'lady. Save me a dance, yeah?"
"I will," you whispered
"Take care of your mom, my brave little knight," Druig instructed
Rory wasted no time dragging you to meet all his teachers even though you already knew them
the 8-year-old was just so proud to have you as his mom
"Your son speaks so highly of you," one of the other mothers told you as you finally got a moment to breathe
"I wish my boys loved me that much," another laughed
it didn't last long before he had you on the dance floor
you never heard him giggle and dance so much in his little life
you held him during the first slow song
one of the only times you thanked Arishem for your enhanced strength
holding him and standing in high heels was no easy feat
Rory looked around at the other little boys
some of them danced with their moms but others danced with older men and women, and there were a couple of his friend's dads out there
"Mommy, where are their moms?" he asked sadly
you closed your eyes and inhaled deeply at his innocent question
"Well, Rory. Sometimes kids don't have their mommy, they have other people to take care of them and love them... and that's ok."
"Oh," he responded meekly
he hugged you a little bit tighter, his little hands balled into fists
you rubbed his back in small circles to console him
after you sat him down at the table and placed a few snacks in front of him, he began to feel better
"Ready to dance again, my love?" you asked as you moved some hair out of his face
he nodded happily and took your hand
he was passed out in your arms when you got back home
Druig lounged on the couch, his nose in a book as you walked through the front door
"I'm going to put him to bed, I'll be back," you whispered to him as you kicked the door close
you dropped Rory in his bed with a soft grunt, "Let's get to changed," you told him
"No," he whined as he rolled over, "too tired."
you were at least able to get his tie and shoes off, "Alright," you sang, "don't complain when you're uncomfortable."
he mumbled and nodded before you turned off the light
you came back down the stairs to soft classical music playing from the stereo
Druig stood in the middle of the living room
obvious that he moved the furniture out of the way
"Did you save me that dance?" he asked with a smirk
you laughed and placed your hand in his
his free hand found your waist, and yours found his bicep
you let him sway you to the music, letting your head rest against his
"Missed you," he mumbled after a while
"Missed you more," you responded
he looked at the old earrings, narrowing his eyebrows playfully, "did you keep the matching tiara."
you let out a chuckle, "I did, I did."
"Mom you have a tiara!" Orla shrieked
you and Druig snapped your heads toward the stairs
Orla and Rory st on the top step, watching you two dance
you and Druig simply laughed at her outburst before helping them get back in bed

Young Hope: Chapter 41
The tall, clear glass set within the towering buildings of Townsville reflect the glisten of the afternoon sun and shine them down upon the people of Townsville; walking through the streets and driving through the roads on the way through their daily communes, almost nothing but the city ambiance echoing through block after block. Simply going through the motions of their day to day lives, the people walking through the sidewalk are broken from their near trance like state when a wisp of emerald green wavers past; some of them leaping out of the way when a pair of speeding figures soon follow after. Among their pursuit after the fleeting green spirit flame do both Mally and Biz swerve around both people and vehicles alike, some of the cars they pass honk to them while other’s rudely flip the old middle bird; ignoring their upset fits to simply focus on what they pursue. The magenta woman that Mally calls her mentor speeds forth as both of them are on approach of a busy intersection that the wisp hovers right over; Biz soon leaping off the pavement and gliding right along the glass surface of the building beside her; wall grinding higher and higher. Nearing the crosswalk, the magenta skater leaps out in the peek of her grind and bounds above the passing cars and trucks; Mally watching in utter awe as her teacher manages make it out to the other side of the street unscathed. Peering out ahead to what could aid her pulling off the same stunt, the orange girl’s eye lock out to a street lamp standing just short of the crosswalk; Mally taking her beloved grapple yo as her mind rings up an idea. The skater casts her gadget straight out to the light and lets its string hug its top; the very moment that her gadget finishes wrapping around the light’s steel does the orange skater jerk herself up into the air and swing out above. The people of the city watch anxiously as the orange girl bounds right over the line of busy traffic; some of them holding their breath as Mally grazes right off the top of a semi truck. The crowd lets out a relieved sigh when she lands right on the other side of the street, all while Mally continuing her pursuit after her mentor and the wisp unabated.
In her chase after the coveted emerald spirit, Biz finds the fleeting ghost hovering straight up a set of concrete steps; the woman picking up as much speed as she could as she approaches the railing splitting the stairs. Finally nearing the base of the steps does the magenta skater hop right atop the rustic incline, all the speed she had built up letting her ascend up to the very top of the steps with ease. In following her teach does Mally then build up as much speed as she could as she closes in on the rail; finally hopping right along the bottom end and smoothly sliding right up to the very top. Hopping right off the rails does she come to witness her teacher take an extremely tight turn from the split road up ahead; Mally once again glancing to her surroundings ahead for a way to follow after, a stop sign along the corner of the street giving her just what she needs. The orange skater tosses her grapple yo once more out to the approaching sign ahead and envelopes its string right around its very neck; Mally holding on tight as takes the turn without loosing a single bit of momentum.
That very boost around the corner lets her catch up to the magenta skater, Mally skating right aside Biz as she asks her: “Any luck catching the wisp?” “Slippery little bastard. Just a couple inches closer and we could trap it with this thing.” Biz claims, digging through her pants pocket to pull out metallic jar fitted with lines of neon green. “Why don’t I give it a go?” the orange girl persists as she snatches the jar right out from her mentors grasp, zipping straight ahead after the fleeing spirit. “Mal, hang on a sec!” her teacher attempts to warn, though her words fall of deaf ears as her pupil simply speeds off.
Out to the fleeing green wisp ahead does Mally speed through the streets, the girl tasting the green bits of spirit the wisp leaves behind in its wake as she grows closer and closer to its tail. The feverish chase leads the young lady to entering a busy highway, where countless vehicles flow through the concrete roads like a running river of metal. As the cowardly emerald wisp flutters between the numerous vehicles, the girl that pursues it skirts across the sides of these cars and trucks as she refuses to give up the chase; some of the drivers within jumping when the orange lass leaps off their side windows. Despite her feverish pursuit after the ghostly spirit, Mally finds the distance beginning to grow and ponders for a way to close the gap as the cars aside zoom past. Its in the Doppler effect of some of these vehicles passing my that she gets another idea and jumps up to the top of a nearby car; the gap between her and the spirit swiftly closing as she leaps from motor vehicle to vehicle. Meager moments before the girl could swipe the spirit from the air does the wisp suddenly veer straight off the side; Mally waiting not another moment as she hangs off the side of the semi and leap right after the fleeting spirit. Careening through the air, the orange skater reaches out as far as she could as she glides closer and closer to the flighty wisp; finally swiping the spirit in the metal bottle. “Gotcha!”
Though excited over the prospect of capturing the slippery wisp, her demeanor is swiftly shot down when realizing herself falling down off the side of the highway and down the long drop towards the concrete below; the girl yelping out as she starts to descend. Midst her screaming descent does she peer over to discover her magenta mentor zooming through the air beside her; Biz shouting out to: “Throw your yoyo to me!” Without so much as another word does Mally do just that and flings her gadget out to her teacher; Biz catching her students grapple yo and clutching it tight as she drags the orange girl through the air with her. Descending down upon the pavement of an empty road, the magenta skater cleanly lands on her feet before manages to catch her plummeting pupil in the nick of time before she could smack into the asphalt. Upon catching her student, Biz finally puts the breaks onto her skate through the streets as she comes close towards the side of an apartment building behind them; coming to a skidding halt before both of them could crash right along its hard brickwork.
“You okay there, Mal?” the magenta woman questions as she sets her pupil down on her own two skates. “Yep. Caught the wisp in all its ghoulish glory.” the student response with presenting the enclosed metallic jar glowing bright green. “Nice. Pretty ballsy of you to just leap off the edge of a highway like that.” “Eh. After helping your brother’s take down a primordial cosmic shaper of the universe alongside the other sort of stuff I been up against, not a lot phases ya no more. It’s still pretty much a blast though.” “That’s what I like to here. Kickin ass and taking names. You might just have a future in the supernatural if ya keep this up.” Biz compliments as she takes the captured wisp from her pupils grasp.
On that very queue do the two of them suddenly hear a distinct ring go off in the magenta woman’s torn up jeans; Biz digging right in her pocket to pull out her phone making the noise, gazing to the screen to find the alarm mentioning how its almost time for work. “Dammit. Gotta punch in the clock for work. Mal, I really hope you’ll get a better future then I have. It’d definitely beat going on the grind everyday at this run down diner, serving cock head assholes while getting yelled at my your shitty boss.” “Why you working as a waitress anyway? Don’t these supernatural hunt jobs get you by enough?” “They help from time to time, but the pay ain’t nowhere near enough to get by in this day and age. So much crap to keep track of. Food, phone, internet, rent, water bill, electric, and all that just for an overpriced apartment. God, being a grownup fucking sucks, makes me miss being with my uncle Dib. If there’s one piece of advice I wanna leave ya with, Mal, its to plan for life to fling shit her way; cause sooner or laters, its gonna.”
Right as her magenta mentor was on the cusp of splitting, something the woman’s pupil asks makes her stop right in her tracks; Mally questioning: “What time do ya get off?” “Clock out after 8. Why?” “Why don’t ya let your food bill take a little break and come over to my place for a bite. My mom ain’t the best cook out there, but she always finds a way to make’em take real homey.” “Sure, why not. I’ll stop by your place once I clock out. See ya.” Biz accepts before she skates off with the trapped wisp secure in her hands. Amidst waving goodbye to her mentor, a small metaphorical thorn pricks the back of the orange lass’s head; making her wonder what exactly she’s forgotten about. … “Oh hell, Vivi!”
Set in the middle of a lone suburban backyard are numerous training dummies spread out among the fresh cut grass; all of them surrounding a half skeletal blonde, who tightly clutches the neck of a scythe as she prepares to lunge forth. Finally taking the first steps in her assault, Vivian manages to roughly cut straight through the bodies of these dummies as easily as slicing paper; the skull girl slicing straight through their straw necks, chests, and torsos with multiple strokes. “Hey Vivi.” Mally sudden pops in among the girl’s swinging frenzy. With it too late for her skeletal pal to stop her own swing, Mally pulls out her grapple yo against the scythes very blade; countless sparks flying as the blade slides against the gadgets hard shell.
Having gotten so close to her orange pal, literally face to face, Vivian backs away from Mally’s personal space in a fluster; shouting out how: “Mal! Fuck sake girl. Nearly yeeted ya damn head off! You’re so-” “Late? Yeah, I know. I was taking care of some stuff. But the way you cut through all those dummies like better. Sick as hell.” “I...Th-th-thanks, comes with some practice.” the skull girl stutters, her face glowing bright red. “Though I gotta ask, why are ya so amendment on practicing with that scythe? Thought you hated so much as the thought of touching it.” “Ah, I still hate this fucking thing. Just can’t get out what Ryan bitched at me outta my head.” “Vivi, you still thinking about that. It’s okay, you don’t gotta worry about it.” “But I do, Mal. The first time I used this damn scythe to help her out outta that hole city wide riot, felt as if a horrible dread was creeping on very being the more she used it. Thought I could just ignore all that helping you guys take down that Mall guy. That bull just made things worse, couldn’t use it like I did back in Townsville. Best my sorry ass could do was just jump around and cut stuff. That whole trip I took with you really forced the truth right down my throat.”
“Viv…” Mally utters. “Yep. Pretty much the whole reason I signed up for the League.” “The-the Vanguard league!? You sure about that, Vivi?” Mally questions after the initial jump. “Pretty damn sure. Standing alongside the other fresh meat outta gimme the motivation I need to push through the wall of my own pent up shit.” “Viv, the league ain’t a contest. Its a superhero organization made to help people.” “Its why I signed up. Figure if I can use this fucking oversized gardening tool for some good, maybe I can convince myself that its powers aren’t so bad.” the skull girl explains. “Alright. If you think that’ll help.”
“Yeah...Speakin of help, the hell were you doing that made ya an hour late?” “Oh, uh...I got sidetracked helping my teach out catching this loose wisp through the city messing with people. Bothering the elderly, flipping the bird to drivers, possessing people to make them commit sexual harassment. Ya should’ve been there Viv, both of us were just skating through the streets, grinding rails, gliding along walls, jumping on cars just to try and catch the little bastard. Finally wound up catching it jumping on the side of the highway. My teach saved my ass last minute before I could splat on the pavement.” “Damn Mal, sounds like your teach be real bitchen.” “Oh yeah. All that and more. Gonna have her over at my place for dinner. Wanna meet her?” “Hells yeah. When should I bust down yer door down to eat?” Vivian asks. “She said something about not getting off work til 8. Try comin over then, kay.” “Cool. What’s on the menu?” “Not sure. Haven’t exactly told mom about it yet.” “And you throw shit at me for being reckless.” “It’s like what close to what, 3 right now? I got plenty of time. Let’s just help you out with your practice right now.” Offering such do that do they immediately get started on practice, Mally donning her Yoyo and taking up a stance while Vivi does the same with her scythe.
The first out from the two to start, Vivian takes charge straight out to her sparing partner with blade in hand; ready to swing out its sharp end out to the orange girl before her. Midst ducking right underneath her skeletal opponent scythe swipe, Mally sweeps at one of Vivi’s legs to make her lose her balance and fall flat on her back; the orange skater’s shadow blanketing her foe as she asks the downed skull girl: “So, wanna try that again?” “Oh, you are fucking asking for it.” Vivi states as she pulls herself off the grass.
Lunging out to her opponent once more, the skull girl this time slashes vertically out to the orange girl; Mally sidestepping out from the swipe easily and thrusting her fist out to counter once more. This time however is the skull girl more prepared and holds the flat of her blade out to block her foe’s assault; the metal of the blade vibrating from the harsh impact. “Nice block.” Mally compliments. “Got more up my ass than that!” Vivi claims as she pushes the orange girl back. As the skater backs away from her skeletal sparring partner, she tosses her out grapple yo out in her retreat; its string wrapping right around the neck of Vivi’s weapon. Despite attempting to hold onto the scythe the best she could, Mally ultimately yanks the weapon straight out from her grasp; Vivian’s boney arm incidentally popping off as it holds onto neck of the blade for dear life. The blade thrusting straight into the dirt behind the skater. “Seems you been left utterly disarmed.” the orange girl jests. “Fucking! Sure as hell ain’t over yet.”
The match not declared over, Vivi recklessly charges after her orange opponent with but a single remaining arm raised; Mally ready for what she has to throw out as the skull girl’s other arm lets go of the scythe and works on uprooting it from the earth. Even with a punch thrown, a kick swung, and a head butted, any strikes that Vivi attempts to inflict are dodged and easily blocked; soon jumping back to try and catch her breath. Seeing the moment to strike, Mally takes charge after the skull girl to attack from the side and knock her sparring partner down on her ass once more. “Whelp, that about wraps it up.” the orange girl claims, Vivian peering behind her to find her skeleton arm having finally dug her weapon out from the dirt. “Don’t count me out just yet.” In but a single throw, Vivi’s detached arm casts the scythe out their way; the weapon hurdling right past the orange skater and landing right in Vivian’s other arm. Her confident smile his suddenly broken apart when seeing her sparring partner fall onto her knee’s, clutching her side as she doubles over in pain.
“Mal!” the skull girl screams out as she races over to her downed friend. “Oh god! Are you okay!” “Yeah, think I will...But you won’t be.” the orange skater answers with glaring up to the skull girl with a sly grin. Faster than she could possibly react, the orange girl trips up her opponent and swipes her weapon as she tumbles back; Vivi falling onto the ground once more and finding herself on the other side of her weapon, the one that her opponent now wields.
“You fucking cheat!” she quickly accuses Mally with. “Hmm. I don’t remember us setting any sort of rules before we fought, did we? And hey, this should be a pretty important point to remember; something one of my bros taught me a good while. In a fight for your life, there ain’t no such thing as cheating.” “Dare ya to eat those words!” Vivi exclaims. In a brief instance does the skull girl take a page from her pal and sweep at Mally’s leg; causing the orange skater to fall forward right next to her and dropping the scythe. Glancing aside does Mally find her friend staring to her with a smug grin, Mally letting out a little chuckle and claims that: “Alright, guess we can call it a draw.” As the two of them pull eachother off the fresh cut grass, Vivi can’t help but ask: “So. That teach of yours taught ya that?” “Well, she’s helped me refine some skills I was already working on. That and teaching me how to bash people’s skull’s in with a hockey stick.” “Color me fucking intrigued. Definitely gonna be stopping by at your place now. Just hope I can convince my folks to let me go over by my own. I love’em, but they can be pretty damn embarrassing.”
As the bright afternoon sun starts its descent down into the horizon, its light shines through the glass of a window leading straight into Mally standing in the middle of her living room; the girl facing her blue haired mother sitting onto the couch having just heard the plans her daughter has. “Yeah, I ain’t too sure about this whole evening set up Mally.” the mom replies. “Hey, if ya need help in the kitchen tonight, ain’t nothing stopping me from tagging in.” Mally offers. “That isn’t what has me weary here. Its the fact your bringing over two of your friends who have never met with each other before. Believe me when I say a situation like that can veer off real fast.” “That’s why I’m wanting to invite them over, to get them to warm up to each other. If both Biz and Viv like me, then they outta like each other, right?” “Mally, you can’t make everyone you like get along with each other.” “I can try, mom. I sure as hel- heck can try.” “Remember the last time you “Tried”? Thankfully we had Tore and Roy to help crowbar everyone off eachother and get them to calm down for a single second.”
Being reminded of this past blunder causes the orange skater to let out an irritated groan as she flops down onto the couch next to her mom; the blue momma herself gazing to her youngest daughter and consoling to her how: “Mal, I know you just want all your friends to be happy with eachother, but trying to just glue together people like that isn’t wise.” “But I know that both my girls can get along, they got so much in common; both are brash, ready to jump into action, always looking to bust people’s balls. I mean, they’re practically like long lost sisters already.” “Hmm...Just be prepared for anything sweetie. Now if you’ll excuse me. I gotta prep a dinner for six that she was completely prepared to make tonight?” the blue woman states with snide sarcasm. “Hey, I said I was gonna help out.”
Eventually does the twilight sun fully set out in the horizon and the stars above glimmer across the moonlight sky; a figure sliding through the darkness and stopping just short of a suburban home. As the door to this abode creaks open, the escaping light reveals this visitor to be the magenta skater herself to greet with: “Sup, Mrs. Mal’s mom.” “Biz. Glad you showed up. We just got plates set up. Why don’t you come in and have a seat.” the blue haired woman welcomes, letting the magenta woman into her abode.
The very first site she beholds to when passing through the living room and to the dinning room is the face of her orange pupil; who welcomes her teach with: “Biz, glad you made it.” “Yeah, thank god my boss let me off when he did. Practically a miracle he didn’t make me work over...time…” Biz’s speech starts to wane when seeing another guest after finding both of her pupils bro’s sitting at the table; a blonde girl with a skeletal like complexion sitting at the other end sporting a little grin. “Uh...You’re bro’s invite someone else tonight or…” the magenta woman questions. “Nah, I lent them a ticket in. Vivi here heard about the shenanigans we get into and the sort of moves you’ve been teaching me. Wanted a front row seat.” “Hella fine to finally put a face on the bitch whose been teaching my girl how to shove her foot straight up some unlucky bastards sweaty asses.” the skull girl greets with. “Mean, its not that she’s been training with us for 6 years of her life or anything…” Roy whispers under his breath.
Sitting her ass down on one of the available seat set before her, Biz asks the mother: “So. What sort of platter you cooking up tonight?” “I’m just about done grilling everyone’s burgers out here. Only thing left is to grill the buns.” “God, I...seriously can’t get enough of the way that woman grills em. Don’t know what the hell kinda spices she uses, but the way she butters and toasts the buns is a fucking fantasy, like holy shit.” The purple merc then compliment. “Yeah...Wasn’t there a restaurant chain that did that wit their buns, butter the bottoms and put them on the grill. I know there was one out there that did.” Tore then joins in to ask everyone. “Think it might be five guys.” Viv chimes in with. “Nah. Ate there last week. They don’t do that.” Roy denies. “You sure you ain’t thinking of a local joint? Ton’s of those will do that for ya if you ask.” Biz then wonders. “No, I specifically remember it being a chain restaurant of some sort.” “Are you sure you ain’t mistaking them for mom’s burgers she made for one of her friends parties a couple years back?” Mally then questions.
Right upon that very queue does the mom finally come in with a tray filled with numerous, well dressed, delectable burgers; both Biz and Vivi left somewhat astonished by the presentation of the meals. “Damn. That sure looks hella real to the kind of gourmet shit they make over in the real expensive joints.” “Thanks there, Viv. I got the recipe from one of my brother’s that runs a restaurant back in Florida, his burgers were the real deal so much, it’d practically spoil you for every other burger.” “Which one was that? You guys got like six uncles or something.” The violet angel then asks. “I think it might’ve been Darren. He was always in the kitchen cooking stuff when we were little.” the mom answers.
Upon taking the first bite does Biz start to realize what she means by this, letting out a moaning awe from the swirling taste through her mouth. Though the rest of them start on their plates, they are left ultimately distracted when seeing the magenta woman scarf her burger down in a messy manner: “Damn girl. You don’t get enough to eat back home?” Vivi questions. “With as tight as my budget as mine, don’t get to to eat anything as good as this. Best I can scrape up is cheap store brand garbage they somehow got away with classifying as edible.” the magenta lass answers with. “We were talking about this earlier. The supernatural jobs she takes aren’t going for enough money; some of the barely breaking 1’000, and that’ including her working at this dinner for about 9.50 an hour.” Mally then adds. “Damn Mal, seems ya got yer work cut out for ya getting both your girlfriends outta some tight spots.” Roy then mentions. “I’m 24, jackass.” Biz then reprimands. “You poor girl. Don’t you have family to go to?” the mom then asks. “Did have any uncle that raised me for a good long while. Nice guy. Though last we saw each other, we didn’t exactly see things eye to eye. Let’s leave it at that.” Biz mentions.
“The hell kind of odd jobs you go around doing.” Vivian then follows up with. “Investigations, hunts, searches, etc. Usually with ghosts, chimeras, aliens, just other weird stuff. Course, prices out there’ve been going down ever since this new league’s been out. Why hire some random woman when you could ask for a bunch of organized kids to help ya for free, am I right? Know its for the greater good or some other type of bull like that, but god does it mess with my paycheck at the end of the day” Biz rants out. “Ya know Biz. If ya looking for merc work, think you should expand your horizons out for more than just ghost hunts, and chimera sitting. There’s stuff out there that can get ya from earning the hundreds to the thousands.” Roy goes on to explains. “The skill set I got on me is for supernatural hunts, though. Doubt that stuff could apply anywhere else.” Biz retorts. “From the sort of stuff Mally’s told me ya pull off, ya could put those skills to use in other fields. Delivering unmarked packages, assassinations, personal extraction and retrieval, anonymous handies to rich cows.” “Roy remember, no sex talk at the dinner table.” the mom butts in with. “Point is that there’s all sorts of other stuff you can do for people under the shade that need done.” “Eh, maybe.” “That type of money can get ya out of eating bologna every night.” Mally then adds. “...I might consider it.”
An awkward silence waning through the dinning table, Mally decides to break through the quiet by asking Vivi: “So, how’d ya convince your parents to let ya come here my yourself with them being so mildly overprotective?” “Told the two of them I was practically 15 and can handle myself. My dad was seriously crying so fucking hard, it looked like he was on the verge of pissing himself from the snot coming out from his balloon red nose. But once I convinced them that this’d give them some alone time with eachother, mom was all on board and sent me off; she always looks pissed as all hell, but saying all that made her mood change.” These specific details reaching Biz’s very ears, a certain suspicious starts to sprout up within her as her site narrows to the young skull girl.
“Man Vivi. Feel a little sorry with how strict your parents sound. Heck, when we were around ten or so, Mom had Roy, Mally and I fly a couple towns over to help one of our uncles move out. He told us to get some stuff to help out in the trip from downtown; and during the trip, we ran into this weird shadowy cult that was kidnapping people and taking their organs. They lured us into some sort of warehouse where they kept all the people they were gonna harvest. But when the time came for them to pick off someone to, us three leaped right on in and beat the loving crap out of every single one of them.” Tore inputs with. “I remember one of the sharting himself when I punched him in the stomach. Seriously laughing at him while he was just breaking down in tears thinking “How the hell did my life turn this sour?” Good stuff.” Roy then adds. “Once we got outta there, we went over to get what their uncle needed to move and went back home. Course when mom found out about the whole thing, she nearly had a panic attack.” Mally concludes. “When I heard all three of them fought their way out that easily, I realized something that day. After incidence like that one happened so many times before hand. no matter what sort of trouble they all wind up getting into, they’d have the fortitude to get themselves right out of it.” the mom explains.
“How was living with your uncle like Biz?” Tore then questions. “Well Uncle Dib didn’t really put that many restrictions on me; always just about letting me do almost anything. Skip some days of school just to bring me along in one if his supernatural ventures. I still remembers the time I took a blaster out on this big specter and shot dozens of holes straight through its body; that was my first successful ghost hunt I had bagging one. Still remember how my uncle said he was proud of me.” “He-...He let you use a gun while you were that little? Like a gun gun?” the mom blurts in with. “Technically laser rifles and stuff like that.” the magenta woman corrects. “Goodness.” “Then there was this other time he took me out in the middle of a quarry to investigate a banshee that was going around gouging people’s eye’s out; gnarly shit seeing the dead bodies.” “How old were you then.” the blue haired woman worries. “Uh, say about 11, 12 back then.” “And he didn’t mind you seeing that stuff with your own eyes?” “Mauricia, you act like this is some sort of surprise. All of us seen way worse when we were younger.” Roy then defends. “But you really shouldn’t have.” “Yeah. Even with a some screws loose in the head, my uncle always loved and cared for me like his own, even if they’re lifestyle and line of work was unhinged as all hell.” “I-I…” “You wind up catching it?” Tore then resumes to ask. “The strangest thing wound up happening when we found its lair, it was already left a bloody corpse on the cave floor; something had made a clean slice straight through its torso.”
“Damn. All that makes me recall the time I went with my parents along a trip to reclaim some lost souls after Grim was meant to collect them.” Vivi starts her story with, the very name she had mentions perking some suspicion within Biz as she and the rest of them continue to listen to the skull girl. “A lot of the fuckin time we were trying to chase after all those souls, my dad wound up getting distracted at almost every turn; sometimes from a display window of puppies, other times it was cause he spotted a penny in the road. It happened so often that my mom just decides to leave him be and just move on ahead after some of the souls. We then actually started to get some actual progress, getting wandering spirits left and right to have Grim let them pass on. It was the last soul they needed to catch that was actually pretty tricky for us to catch up with; going through walls and possessing people left and right. We didn’t know what the hell to do to nab the bastard. Right then and their did my dad happen to come back along after somehow finding them and showing up with this huge vacuum cleaner and through sheer luck wound up sucking the damn spirit right out from the air. Damndest thing, really. Still got the pictures we all took during that little shitshow.”
Mentioning this does Vivian then pull out her phone to show everyone the numerous pictures depicting her alongside a woman with a nasty scowl, a man with a huge nose, and a hooded figure wielding a scythe. The magenta woman’s eyes start to widen as she beholds her parents within these photo’s; suddenly reaching over and swiping the skull girl’s phone right out from her grasp as she goes: “Let me see that!” “Whoa! The fuck!” Among beholding the photo’s up close, the woman’s arms start to tremble as her fist tightly ball up; her expression souring to bitter resentment in the span of seconds. Finally left at her very limit, Biz tosses the phone across the table and back in the hands of the skeletal lass; the woman standing up and marching towards the door as she coldly leaves with: “Thanks for the meal." “Biz. Biz, wait!” Mally then shouts out while chasing right after her magenta mentor.
As soon as she races out the front door and into the yard, the orange skater peers out to both ends of her street in hopes of finding which way her mentor had ran out in a huff; gazing to the left to discover the shadow of the magenta woman skating off. “Biz!” Mally sprints off after the skating away young woman as fast as her bare legs could carry her, Biz growing further away despite her pupil pleading out to her with: “Biz! Biz! Biz, wait! What’s the matter!? Say something! Please!” Among her skating retreat through the streets does Biz finally humor the notion of listening to her and slowly comes to a complete stop, turning back to face her orange pupil as Mally finally catches up; the young girl taking a moment to catch her breath before she finally asks: “What was all that about? You just snatch Vivi’s phone out of her hands and just leave? Why the change in mood? Was it the burgers!” A forlorn breath escapes from the magenta woman’s mouth as she stares to Mally; finally explaining to the girl how: “No. Burgers were good!” “Then whats the problem?” “...I told ya about my parents, didn’t I?” “Y-yeah? Your mom quite literally threw you at your dad to take care of ya.” “Then after like several years did my dad doing little to support me, his friend forced him to gimme right back to my mom; who still didn’t give a shit and just hauled me off straight to uncle Dib.” “What’s all that gotta do with tonight?” Mally then in turn questions. “You get a look at the dad right? You find anything familiar about him?” “N-Not really. Only thing I could really notice was the guys nose; kinda looks a lot like y-...No.” “Yep.” “That guy in the picture’s is your dad!?...But that...so that woman he was with is-” “The same one who made him toss me out. Made my dad give me back up to a mom who wanted nothing to do with me. “You all fucking serious?”
Upon hearing this does Mally peer back to discover Vivian herself standing behind her; left at an utter loss over what she had just heard and could only utter out: “Does that make you...my sister?” Rather than answer the skull girl that stands behind her pupil, the magenta woman simply decides to turn back and skate off into the nightly darkness; all without another word. “I-I…” Gazing back to her skeletal pal does Mally find a thick coat of utter dumbfound plaster everywhere long the blonde girl; Vivian struggling to even speak as all she could force herself to say is: “I gotta go!” With Vivi now retreating out into the suburban night streets, both of the girls leave the orange skater to crumble to her knee’s as they walk off in the opposite directions.
Just outside the orange girl’s home do both Tore and his Mom stand upon the porch and keep their eyes down the very street that Mally had gone down after their magenta house guest; Roy standing right along the door frame as all of them patiently await for their youngest’s return. “She gonna be okay?” Tore asks his mother. “I’m not sure. With Biz just racing off in a huff like that, me thinks that there be some uncovered secrets poking out from the surface.” “Do...do you think we need to go get her or will she just-” “She’s coming back.” Roy claims, not even looking in the same direction as either of them.
Out from the dark recesses of the suburban streets do the two of them find Roy’s claim to be accurate as Mally emerges out from the shadows; the orange skater going at a snails pace as her head is slumped towards the concrete. The three step off the porch out to the slowly approaching girl, the blue haired boy among the trio first asking: “So...What happened?” A small breath winds up leaving the young girls lungs as she shakes her head; finally answering out: “So...Turns out Biz and Vivi are half sisters...And on top of that, Biz has resentment over Vivi’s parents ditching her when she was little.” “...You seriously pull that old soap opera bull outta yer ass or what?” Roy doubts over. “Oh, poor girls. I can’t imagine what sort of thoughts are going through their heads about all of this.” the mother pities over. “Heck, I’m still trying to process what just happened. I mean neither of them barely even look like they come out from the same guy.” the orange girl then claims. “Maybe talking things out outta clean some air.” Tore suggests. “I wouldn’t even know the first step towards getting that far. Biz basically hates both of Viv’s parents and from the way she’s described it, I can’t exactly blame her.” the orange girl states. “So, you needin both ya girls to come together and cooperate, huh. Think I might have a good idea on how to bait them both:” the purple merc offers, a devious grin cracking across his grin. “And I’m already not liking this.” Mally responds with.
Out along the middle of Townsvilles park the very next day does Mally rest on a wooden bench; the orange girl gazing out through the park field as she waits patiently with nothing but the song of the birds to keep her company as she waits for both of her girls to arrive on the scene. How in the world is anybody supposed to untangle this whole mess to reach a compromise here? So many ties left tightly woven into other sensitive knot. One wrong move and there might not be any way left to mend this mess; just left as a whole cluster of confusing angst, bitter resentment, and enraging sentiments. Just don’t fuck it up, Mal. Just don’t fuck it all up.
In the middle of repeating these words of warning to herself does the orange skater suddenly hear in outcry of distraught echo out in the distance; Mally peering over to witness Vivi bolting through the park in a frantic hurry, racing over any park goers and flowers that stand in her way. “Mal, holy shit!” Vivian shouts, the orange girl in question hopping off the park bench as the skull girl approaches. “Vivi, what’s the matter!?” Mally urgently questions as her skeletal pal takes a moment to catch her breath. “Ah, ah, ah. One…one of your bros came over and mentioned something about you getting your arms and legs blown off and was literally an hour away from fucking eating the bucket...Why are your limbs still on?” “I-Is that seriously what Roy went to feed you to come over here? Jesus. If I knew he was gonna come up with something that drastic, I’d just make up something myself.” “So your fine then?” another familiar voice chimes in with. Peering back do the two of them discover the magenta woman they had dined with last night standing before them both, Vivian’s face souring fast as she goes: “Are you fucking shitting me?”
“I’m outta here.” Biz declares as she starts waltzing back. “Wait, wait, wait, wait!” her student begs, prompting her to stop right in her tracks. “I know this looks bad, but the reason I brought the two of you here is cause I wanted to work things out with the two of you. I know’s that there’s probably a lot going through both of their heads about this whole long lost sister cliché, which is why I set this whole thing up to have them talk things out; maybe fish out some questions bobbing up along the surface of their pondering minds.” Despite giving the two of them her reason for fooling the both of them to come together, such an explanation leaves the two of them utterly silent, the orange girl growing less hopeful as the quiet is drawn on. “I’m sorry. I just don’t want to loose you both to this.” Upon hearing their girl comment this sad truth to the two of them do both of them finally turn back to face one another; a little smile forming underneath Mally’s nose as both Vivi and Biz sit themselves down onto the bench.
That hopeful smile starts to waver unfortunately when finding neither of her friends willing to even lay a single glance to each other, both of them peering off in the opposite direction. “Alright, um...How bout we begin this whole makeshift unregistered therapy session off by going over our upringing’s with yer dad, that’d be a good start. Why don’t you go first Biz so that we can gain some perspective on why ya mad.” Mally starts off with. “Where to even start? Thinking back to it, I can’t recount the sort of neglectful bullshit I wound up dealing with. That fucking idiot even noticed I was even there.” Despite growing further upset over the woman beside her insulting their dad like this, Vivi nonetheless remains quiet as she further listens to the magenta woman go on how: “The few times he realized I was there and played with me might as well be but small bumps in the road of my life. Hell, his other family wound up raising me more than he did. And don’t even get me started on what that blonde bitch he wound up having another kid with who threatened to do to me whenever I wound up acting up, telling me she was gonna leave me out in the middle of the woods.”
“Shut your goddamn mouth! You don’t know what the fuck your talking about.” the skull girl beside her blurts out. “Viv, I-” Mally attempts to speak over, but is left unsuccessful as Vivian simply continues to rant. “Both my mom and dad aren’t anything like that. My dad was the funniest guy I knew, always playing catch, cracking jokes, and always letting me go on life threatening adventures with him. And my mom is one of the most incredible, tough, most badass women that I’ve ever known, always standing up to others when they mock the way I look; sometimes even kicking the shit outta them. Sure, she can be scary, but that cruel? Both of them had helped comfort me throughout all the years of mocking, bullying, bitching, even fights that I had to put up dealing with from other people; all the piss I’d gone through because of how she looks, how I don’t look like one of them. I absolutely fucking refuses to believe that my two parents that comforted her through all that shit could be so neglectful and heartless.”
“You gotta be kidding.” Biz remarks as her mood sours further, standing off the park bench and threatening to bail. Before the magenta woman could go very far however does her orange pupil suddenly race right in her way; skidding before her pleading with: “Biz, wait! We just started.” “I can’t listen to this shit any more, Mal. The fact that my dad wound up putting in more years of love and care into his second kid than his first. And don’t get me started on that horrible nightmarish woman that girl over there calls a mom. Fucking hell. The fact that woman is capable of parental love at all just pisses me off to no end. The only thing I felt during the times I was alone with her was unrelenting fear and paranoia. Felt like the woman would snap any second. And hearing those two having a kid and loving her…” Midst ranting over all this does it take every single ounce of willpower in the magenta woman to not break down; her entire body trembling as she attempts to calm herself from all the rage boiling inside her.
“Listen, I get what your saying, Biz. But you ever think that fact that they raised Vivi so well might show some remorse over how they treated you?” Mally then counters with. Hearing this from her orange pupil, the magenta woman starts to calm herself a bit, her body ceasing to quake as takes deep breath to retort back over: “Mally. They had every chance to feel like that in the 9 years I’ve been with them, and it was only after the fact they gave me away did they even humor it. You think that cause they didn’t fuck up one kid means makes the other one they did screw over all okay? That I should let everything slide with a hug and a kiss?” “I- No. But-” From behind them does Vivian then literally leaps out from her seat and bust right in the middle of this argument, the skeletal girl countering with: “So that makes it okay to give em shit over what happened before I was even born!? How all the crap they did is supposed to come back into hating me and how my life turned out compared to yours?” “I...I don’t hate you, alright? Just the way those two raise me compared to you.” Biz then admits, her statement quelling some of the skull girls fury.
“How could I even start spiting you for what happened before you were even born? When you were nothing but a microbe swimming around in our dads ballsack?” “Biz, don’t. I get enough of that dirty talk from Roy.” the orange girl behind her then requests. “The sort of shit that went down back then was just between me and your folks Vivi, ain’t fair to pin all of it on you.” “If that’s what it is, then why don’t you come over and bitch to them about it. Like Mal said, all that bullshit that wound up happening with her might’ve made them think over each other when I came into the picture…Guess when ya put it like that, I should be thanking you, for turning them into better people for me. Honestly, think my life would be way worse if you didn’t come along and snap some sense into them.”
“Yeah. How bout we invite them into this sesh and we can try to get around all this together.” Mally backs up with. Despite her pupils backing up the skull girls suggestion, all that the magenta woman could do in response was was take in a small breath before answering: “Nah…Don’t think I’m ready to tackle whole wall of shit.” Mally’s hopeful grin starts to deflate when thinking this whole talking session was going straight down the crap shoot; the gears in her mind rapidly turning on how to fix it before she hears her teach go on to mention how: “But that don’t mean I should throw that cascade of piss out your way. This whole show’s between me and them, not you.” “...Gotta be honest here. Finding all this out’s been one hell of a mind fuck and a half. Kinda wondered how life’d turn out if I had a big sis like you around. Maybe some of those assholes might’ve backed off if they’ve seen what bad bitch of a sister I had.” the skull girl admits, the magenta woman left flattered by her statement.
With this all out in the open and somewhat resolved so far, Mally lets out a hella relieved sigh as she stands before both of them and claims how: “God, I’m so happy that this whole stunt didn’t spiral out of control like I thought it would. Seems like I don’t haveta choose between my two favorite girls after all.” “Yeah, maybe having a little sister to screw around with might not be that bad.” Biz claims. “But I thought I was already like a sister to you.” the orange girl them calls out. “Can’t say she can’t have more than one. I wound up seeing my girl in action couple times and thought maybe you can tell me how to kick as much ass as she can?” Vivi then asks the magenta woman, a sentiment which makes Mally blush. “Wait a sec. I thought Grim was teaching you how to use the scythe.” the orange girl then reminds her. “Eh, ain’t nothing wrong with getting some fine ass outside pointers every now and then.” “Just who are you even calling Grim.” Biz then wanders aloud.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And here we come to what would've been a rather messy situation for Mally to tackle between her two best girls, an unexpected family matter nearly splitting apart their relationships. Thankfully both Biz and Vivi worked it out in the end for the sake of their orange haired friend. Though this might prove just a flimsy patch job at best, for who knows how long it will last before some secrets come out from the floorboards to severe the ties of blood.

The Only Thing You Can Never Buy In Heaven
Just finished my first fanfic in more than two years!
Thank you, SPN finale :D
remembering this scene
It’s a wincest one-shot about our favourite co-dependent soulmates, with middlegame Sam/Eileen. It’s mostly canon-compliant, except for Miracle goes to Heaven too, and there’s the Samulet, because I love the Samulet.
Read it on AO3 here or below the cut:
The Only Thing You Can Never Buy In Heaven
Dean loved driving around in the Impala, Led Zeppelin blasting on the stereo – the sound much cleaner now, the acoustic guitar opening of Ramble On coming through as clear as a crisp spring day. Always his favorite song to drive to, along the endless highways of Heaven.
He visited with old friends – Bobby, obviously, his mom and dad, he went to the Roadhouse to catch up with Ellen, Jo, Ash and the rest. There were so many he knew who had died before him – hunters and civilians alike. But mostly, he just drove around – through countryside in all seasons, spring and summer and winter and fall, through mountains and deserts and cities and forests, along the shores of lakes and oceans. He stopped at countless roadside diners and ate countless plates of delicious food, without having to think about cholesterol once.
But there was always something missing – or rather, someone. Someone to tell him to think about cholesterol, even though he didn’t have to. Someone to sit shotgun, and keep him company on nights beneath the stars. He knew he wanted Sam to live a full life, to enjoy all those years he deserved – a career, a family, a house with a white picket fence. And after all, against the backdrop of eternity, what difference did a few decades make?
Enough difference, it turned out, to make him feel constantly like half of him was missing. Especially since there was one thing he couldn’t find, no matter how much he searched, no matter how many boxes he emptied out or pockets he rifled. You’d think that, in Heaven, you should be able to get hold of whatever the hell – or whatever the heaven – you wanted, but there seemed to be at least one exception to that. He found the replica and hung it from the rearview mirror, but it wasn’t the same.
‘Do you have idea where I can find my old necklace?’ he asked Bobby, one time when they were sitting on the porch together, drinking beers and shooting the breeze. Bobby gave him a slightly sad smile, and didn’t ask which one he meant. There could only be one.
‘Think Sam’s still got it,’ he said. ‘Back on Earth. You’ll just have to wait. Won’t seem like no time at all. Like I told you – he’ll be along.’
‘But –‘ Dean creased his brow - ‘Sam still has Baby, too, and yet there she is.’ He pointed at the car, sitting gleaming on the driveway. ‘And – I don’t know how this is supposed to work, I was never that good at all this stuff, but isn’t there loads of stuff in Heaven that’s on Earth too?’
‘Oh, you got that right,’ said Bobby. ‘There are exceptions to the rule, see? Cosmic special cases. And that necklace is one of them. Can’t be in two places at once.’
Dean took a long pull of his beer, thinking. ‘Can’t I make a new one?’ he asked. ‘Or – buy one?’
Bobby laughed at that. ‘Buy one? It ain’t something you can buy, boy. In fact, I figure it’s the only thing you can never buy in Heaven.’
‘I just – don’t feel right without it.’
Bobby turned his shrewd gaze on Dean. ‘I know,’ he said. ‘It feels like there’s half of you missing, doesn’t it?’
‘Well – yeah.’
‘That’s ‘cause there is half of you missing. That’s how soulmates work.’
Dean nearly choked on his beer, and Bobby had to slap him between the shoulder blades. ‘Oh, you didn’t think I didn’t know about the soulmates thing, did ya? The amount of time I spent with you boys – gimme some credit.’
‘I – well – we – I thought…’
‘You thought what? That soulmates aren’t supposed to be brothers? That incest would keep you out of Heaven? I think we both know that ain’t true.’
Dean sipped his beer in silence, not trusting himself to say anything at all. He’d always known – or at least suspected – that the link between him and Sam went deeper than any bond normal brothers, or lovers, or even brother-lovers, shared – but soul mates? He remembered what Ash had said to him at the Roadhouse-Heaven, all those years ago – about soulmates having shared Heavens, and had he expected that he and Sam would share their own little piece of eternity?
If he was honest with himself, he’d never thought he’d reach Heaven at all, after his years in Hell, and all the other things he’d done, and now that Jack had reconfigured things so that everyone could visit each other – well, that meant the soulmate rule no longer applied, surely? And yet – the feeling he always had, the ache like he’d lost half of himself – dammit, like half his soul was missing – that had to mean something. He’d wanted Sam to have his own life – had finally come to terms with the idea that they had horizons beyond hunting, and that his baby brother might want to explore those horizons without him – and yet now – there was only one thing he could think about.
He had finished his beer, and was on the verge of getting up to get back behind the wheel (no issues with drink-driving in the Great Beyond) and go for a long drive with only Led Zeppelin for company. Perhaps he’d even see if he could go and visit John Bonham, and some of the other rock stars who’d reached the top of that Stairway a long time ago. Then something burst out of the bushes and came running up to the porch – a shaggy dog, woofing in delight and licking his hands.
‘Hey, Miracle!’ said Dean, petting his head. ‘You’re a good boy, arentcha, a good boy…’ his voice trailed off as he thought about something. ‘Wait, if you’re here, does that mean…?’
‘All dogs go to Heaven,’ said Bobby, and lifted his beer bottle. ‘Guess he ain’t on Earth no more.’
‘Wow,’ said Dean, his hands pausing in Miracle’s long fur until the dog nudged him to make him continue petting. ‘Did Sammy look after you? Did he give you a long and happy life?’
Miracle just barked enthusiastically, which Dean took as a Yes. He buried his face in the dog’s fur and felt, for a little while, just a little bit closer to Sam.
***
It took Sam a long time to accept that his brother was really gone. The bunker felt so empty, all the time, and as the hunts gradually dried up, he decided he needed to move out. The echoing underground spaces just felt haunted – not by Dean, Sam could have coped with a ghostly brother – but by his absence. He caught himself, several times, eyeing up a gun, or a bottle of sleeping pills, or a coil of rope, or a knife, and wondering how long it would take for him to be reunited with Dean. And he had to admit that, if it hadn’t been for Miracle, he probably would have gone through with it. The dog just kept demanding to be fed, and to be taken out for runs, and to be petted. He never gave up on Sam, so Sam couldn’t give up on himself.
Finally – on the day he got the call about the werewolf hunt – he resolved to leave the Bunker behind him. He knew that, once he turned the light out and closed the door behind him, he’d never be back again. So he packed up the trunk of the Impala with three boxes of possessions: one for himself, one for Miracle, and one for Dean. The last box was full of memories – shirts which still held a lingering scent of Dean, his old leather jacket, his watch, his most beloved vinyl records, his favorite weapons, a few photographs – and his necklace – the one with the amulet.
Sam had kept that necklace in his pocket for so long it had almost become a part of him, but he’d always thought of it as a part of Dean. Now, he lifted it up to the light inside the bunker, looked at that inscrutable face, and felt a powerful tug inside him – a tug of both sadness, and hope. He put the necklace inside the box with the rest, and for the first time since Dean had died, thought that maybe, just maybe, things might turn out right.
That werewolf hunt turned out to be his last hunt for a while. Sam drifted around, sleeping in whatever dog-friendly motels he could find, or on the back seat of the Impala when he couldn’t find one. He scoured the local news and the internet, looking for more cases, trying to throw himself back into the job. Yet it seemed that the monsters were thinner on the ground now, and soon Sam realized his heart wasn’t in it any more – the family business just wasn’t the same without the family.
He toured around for some time, checking in with old friends. He saw Jody and Donna and Clare and Alex. He saw Charlie and her girlfriend. He saw Jesse and Cesar. He saw Garth and his family – little Sam and Castiel were growing well. No Dean though – his absence was a constant pain, like the ache in a missing limb, and Sam felt it even more acutely when he saw other people’s happiness.
He kept seeking people out, further and further flung branches of the extended Winchester hunting family. He tracked down Lisa’s son Ben Braeden, now twenty-one and studying medicine, and looking just a little bit like Dean at the same age. He even reconnected with Amelia, now living happily with her husband Don and their two young children – and a big shaggy dog. He really regretted that particular foray into his own past – it just made him feel miserable, and as he drove away from their picture-perfect house, if it hadn’t been for Miracle on the back seat, he’d have probably driven the Impala straight off a bridge into the nearest canyon.
Finally, he worked his way back to Jody Mills, and as he sat in her house late at night, drinking her wine and eating her potato chips, Miracle gnawing a bone at his feet, she said something to him.
‘You know you need to see her at some point, Sam,’
He didn’t need to ask who she meant.
‘It’s – not that easy,’ he said.
‘Isn’t it? You know she cares about you, and I think you care about her.’
Sam sighed. ‘I do,’ he said. ‘I really do. But – me and Dean –‘
‘You had something special,’ Jody filled in for him. ‘She knows that too.’
Sam sighed again. ‘Something special’ was one way to describe what he and Dean had shared, he supposed, but how could he ever really convey the true depth of their relationship? How could he possibly tell someone – anyone – the way he and Dean had lived together, hunted together, slept together (and yes, they had slept together, but almost more significant was the way they had always huddled together for warmth and protection, neither of them ever able to sleep properly without the other). How they had been everything to each other – more than brothers, more than lovers, more than anything?
He looked up, and saw that Jody was smiling at him.
‘And I’m sure she knows how you feel without him. If you’re worried what she’ll think of you – don’t. Most hunters – we got something, some pain, we carry with us.’
‘We’re all damaged goods,’ said Sam, and finished the rest of the glass of wine with one big gulp.
‘What’s damaged can be mended, if you’ll only let someone try,’ said Jody, and took the empty glass from him.
‘I suppose you’re right,’ said Sam, and got his phone out right then to send a message to Eileen, before the courage could leave him.
They arranged to meet for brunch at a trendy vegan hipster café (which also accepted dogs) in New York City, where Eileen had settled now. Sam remembered how Dean had never wanted to drive the Impala into Manhattan, so he left Baby at a big parking lot in a commuter town and rode the train into town, Miracle on the seat next to him. And he remembered how his brother had always hated these trendy cafes with their avocado toast and their artisan coffees and their stupid plant milks. Meeting Eileen at a place like this felt like moving on – which felt both fresh and good and right, and gave Sam an aching feeling of guilt.
The café was noisy with both music and chatter – Sam felt glad that he’d spent a long time practising his signing beforehand, so that he and Eileen could have a silent conversation in the middle of the hubbub. They sat on a half-collapsed sofa, twisted sideways to face each other, while they drank their almond-milk lattes and ate their sourdough toast, topped with scrambled tofu, wilted spinach, and a sprinkle of dukkah. Delicious, and not a nitrate in sight. Dean would have hated this place.
After exchanging a few stilted words of standard greetings, Eileen asked Sam to describe what happened on his and Dean’s final hunt. He did his best to describe everything to her – and found that having to do so with his hands really helped, because he didn’t have to worry about his voice cracking. Then she asked him what he’d been doing since, and he told her that too – along with an apology for not contacting her sooner.
‘It’s okay,’ she signed. Then she asked him the killer question: ‘And how are you coping without him?’
How was he coping without him? ‘Not well,’ he signed. ‘If it hadn’t been for Miracle here – I think I wouldn’t have made it this far, to be honest with you.’ He pulled a face. It was the closest he’d yet come to admitting to anyone just how close he’d come to ending his own life, stretching out ahead of him like an endless highway, with nobody sitting by his side.
‘I’m glad you’ve made it this far,’ Eileen signed back. ‘It’s good to see you again.’
There was an awkward pause. Sam drained his coffee and then petted Miracle, just for something to do with hands.
‘So – what happens now?’ Eileen signed to him.
‘I think – you-’ Sam stopped, waved his hands in a clearing-away gesture, and started again. ‘I would like you to be a part of my life,’ he signed. ‘If you want to. However you want to.’
Eileen nodded, thoughtfully. Sam knew a moment of pure panic – what if she was going to tell him to get lost, that she’d already found somebody else and wanted nothing to do with him ever again? And that moment of panic told him that actually, no matter how close to the edge of despair he’d gotten over these last months, he did want something more out of life – he wanted Eileen beside him.
‘I would like to be a part of your life,’ she signed, eventually. ‘If you’ll let me in.’
‘I will try my best,’ Sam signed back to her. ‘But – you should know – me and Dean – we were much closer than most brothers. Without him – it’s difficult for me.’
‘I understand,’ she signed. ‘And I don’t mind.’
‘Really?’ Sam accompanied the sign with a pleading look – the kind of look Dean had always called his ‘puppy-dog eyes’.
‘Really. I like you, Sam. I like you a lot. You’re a good man. And if you’ve got baggage – well, I have trust issues myself. We can take things slowly, and I understand if you need time for yourself, sometimes. And maybe I’ll need some time for myself, too.’
‘Thank you,’ signed Sam, and meant it.
Eileen sighed then, and looked away, briefly, before turning back to him.
‘I want you to be honest with me, Sam,’ she signed.
‘Of course,’ he replied, although his heart sank at what she might ask him. Being close to a dead brother was one thing – actual Game of Thrones, Flowers in the Attic incest was another.
She didn’t ask him about the incest. Or at least not in a sexual way. That would almost have been preferable to what she did ask him.
‘Do you think you and Dean were – or are – soulmates?’
Sam blinked a few times, and had to ask her to repeat the question. She did, even saying that word ‘soulmates’ out loud for his benefit.
Well, he’d promised to be honest with her. ‘Yes,’ he signed. She just nodded.
‘I thought so,’ she signed.
‘Is that – a problem?’ he asked. ‘Do you – not want to be in life now?’
‘It’s okay,’ she signed. ‘Thank you for being honest.’
‘Is it really okay? Being with me, knowing I’m soulmates with – somebody else?’
‘Most people never meet their soulmates, or never have one in the first place. I’d rather be with you, knowing you’ve told me the truth, than somebody I don’t know if I can trust.’
Sam nodded, slowly. It made sense. Sort of. To be sitting here, with Eileen, talking about his dead soulmate.
‘Shall I get us some more coffees?’ Eileen asked him.
‘Please.’
***
He and Eileen did take things slowly, at first. Then it felt like they accelerated their life together. After Miracle died – the dog had already been old when he and Dean had found him – it felt like the last thing tying Sam to his old life had gone.
As he hugged the old dog to him in the vet’s office, he whispered to him: ‘You’re a good boy, Miracle. You go straight to Dean now, tell him I’ll be all right.’ Miracle just nuzzled Sam a little, and Sam felt the simple love in that gesture, hoped he could take the message to Dean.
He sat in the front seat – the shotgun seat – of the Impala for a long time after that, crying his eyes out. And yet, he no longer wanted to drive off a cliff. He wanted to stay alive, for at least a little longer. He messaged Eileen, and started driving before she’d even answered him.
When he turned up on her doorstep, she saw the absence beside him, and invited him in without a word.
Shortly after that, they got a house together, in upstate New York, parked the Impala in the garage, under a dust sheet, and started their new life. They got married, in a very low-key ceremony, only a few people – their old hunting buddies – present. Eileen got a job in computing – helping to design and test user interfaces to be suitable for the hard-of-hearing. And, while she didn’t say anything to him directly. Sam realized that, if they were going to settle down properly, he should really get himself an actual job. He hadn’t been a hunter for some time – he’d stopped without even realizing it. So he finished his legal training, and finally qualified as an attorney. It felt weird to be doing a ‘normal’ white-collar job at last, but he consoled himself with the thought that, with all the pro-bono work he did, he was still saving people – and hunting things, in a different way.
A few years later, although Sam had never really seen himself as a father – Dean was the one with the strong paternal instincts - they had a child. When they came to thinking of a name, Sam was filled with all sorts of suggestions – but Eileen shook her head, and signed at him ‘How about Dean?’
And Sam didn’t like that idea at first – it felt too much like revisiting the past he’d tried to leave behind – but the more he thought about it, the more he found he couldn’t think of his little baby boy as anything other than Dean. So Dean it was, and would ever be. He had another Dean in his life now, and he gave his son all the love he had.
He never forgot the other Dean – how could he? – but gradually, over the years, he accepted that he had other people in his life now, who were more important to him than his dead brother. At least for now, and now was the only time that really mattered. He got the Impala out very occasionally – one Halloween he even sat behind the wheel wearing his costume of an old Grandpa, complete with cheap grey wig.
Eileen and he rarely spoke about the car, or the old Dean. His life before her, and their son, became something packed away in a box that he only rarely got out looked at – like the amulet he still kept, tucked away, and occasionally took out. Whenever he did so, he admired the golden gleam of the metal, still untarnished after all these years, and let himself fill up with all the aching sadness that was normally stoppered up.
***
Time worked differently in Heaven. Dean knew that. It took him a while to get used to though – however long ‘a while’ was here. He kept expecting things to change faster than they did, or for people – and Miracle – to age and wither away. It was an adjustment to realize, gradually, that here things just went on and on – unless you changed them yourself. And Dean didn’t really want anything to change, not really. He wanted everything to go on as it was, until –
Until Sam arrived. Dean accepted that he shouldn’t wish his brother would hurry up and get there – they’d have eternity together, after all, and wanting eternity to start sooner made no sense. Not when he’d told Sam to live on without him. He wanted Sam to live a full life, to hook up properly with Eileen at last, get a job, wear some dorky sweaters, even have a kid or two. Enjoy all the apple-pie-and-picket-fence stuff that he, Sam, had always wanted, and he, Dean, didn’t.
Did he? Hadn’t part of him always enjoyed cooking for his little brother, taking care of him? Hadn’t part of him longed for Ben to be his son? Hadn’t part of him wanted to settle down and have a family?
Well, in Heaven, all things were possible. He could find somebody else – like Rufus had Aretha – and have a new life, for a while at least. However long ‘a while’ was, here. He didn’t know how to start finding someone, though, or who that someone would even be. Whenever he tried to imagine sharing his afterlife with anyone, only one person ever sprang to mind.
And then. One day – one moment – when he was standing on the bridge, enjoying the view over river and the forests, Miracle by his side. He felt, without being able to say how he felt it, that his brother was here. At last. Or – time worked differently here. Maybe not at last. Maybe he was right on time.
Eternity had to start sometime, and Dean guessed it was starting now. He smiled.
‘Hey Sammy,’
He turned around. And there he was, exactly as he remembered him. After however many years it had been for him on Earth. Sam looked a little tired – as if the last few months of his life had been a lot to bear. And – almost shy, almost as if he was worried Dean wouldn’t want to see him any more, that he might somehow have moved on, in the time before he arrived in Heaven. Well, for better or worse, he hadn’t.
‘Dean,’ said Sam, and met his eyes, and smiled.
They embraced, Miracle rubbing himself against both of their legs at once. As they did so, Dean felt something hot pressed against him, and when the drew apart again, he saw a light glowing from Sam’s pocket.
‘Is that…?’
Sam dipped his hand inside his pocket, and pulled out the necklace. The amulet. The only thing you can never buy in Heaven. It was glowing, as it had done in the presence of God, except now –
‘I think that means,’ Dean started to say, but then Sam cut him off.
‘I know,’ he said, and lifted the necklace to put it around Dean’s neck again. Dean ducked his head without even thinking, and felt the weight of the amulet fall into place once more. Once more – and forever. And finally, he felt whole again. He had been reunited with the other half of his soul, and he was now complete. And he always would be.
Sam and Dean leaned together against the parapet of the bridge, and knew they had eternity to explore all the vistas of Heaven. Together.

Cosmic Love Nightmare
Fandom: Doctor Who
Pairing: Whittaker!Master x Reader, 13th Doctor x Reader
Summary: DW AU. You and the Master are definition of bad romance. The Doctor is determined to separate the two of you.
Warning: ooc, use of violence, mention of rape, murder, bad moral, depression, dark!reader, etc
A/N: So, lately, I have been reading plenty fan fiction about Whittaker!Master and Dhawan!Doctor and I love each one of them. I got inspired to write one too.
I’m sorry for the quality of the language as English is not my first language so you will probably get a bit or a lot of headache. So, I’m not sure about this fic, I hope you all enjoy reading it? And if you do like it, please like/comment.
The Hybrid.
A Galiifreyan prophecy that predicted that a hybrid creature of a crossbred from two warrior races would stand over the ruins of Gallifrey and unravel web of time, breaking a billion billion hearts to heal its own.
“Hybrid bla bla bla...” The Master said with a mocking tone as she rolled her eyes.
I frowned. “And...what? The other Time Lords think that hybrid thing is us?”
The Master shrugged her shoulder. “Look around.” She said. “Here we are standing in a ruin of a planet.”
We stood on top of a cliff with the best view of the ruination.
“Not Gallifrey though.” I said with a shrug. “This is just a general chaos.”
She smiled as she come closer to me and whispered, “Only you would call the ruin of planet a general chaos.”
I shrugged. “If we didn’t do it, someone else would.” I said with a careless tone. “I’m not the only one who called it general chaos. You did it too.”
The Master grinned and did a dramatic twirling. “I know. Let’s call ourselves team Hybrid from now on.” She said.
As if on cue, they could hear a distant echo of groaning Tardis of the Doctor.
I sighed. “And here come team Tardis.”
The Master sighed dramatically just as a man walked toward us followed by his three companions. “Oh, Doctor, have you come to join the party?”
“Stop it. Both of you, stop this nonsense right now!” The Doctor yelled in fury.
“But where is the fun in that?” The Master said with adorable pout.
I watched the interaction between those two. Apparently, they have been dancing around like this since forever with the everlasting theme of savior-villain. I let them have their moment and then turned away to watch with fascination the fiery ruin before me.
“How could you stand with her, (name)?” Yaz suddenly called out to me.
I rolled my eyes. I have no interest in defending myself to a bunch of goodie-good. I shushed her much to her dismay. But she didn’t get the hint and stepped forward toward me, demanding my attention. What a foolish bitch. The only reason she still standing is because I’m currently in a good mood and also the Master told me not to harm the Doctor’s companion directly. She warned me that the Doctor is a goodie-good but he is also dangerous when it come to the protection of his companion.
“Don’t come any closer. I won’t be held responsible for hurting you if you are within distance for me to break your...” I looked her up and down with disdain. “...well, everything...” I said with a fake sweet smile.
Yaz still opened her mouth to blabber but thankfully, Ryan and Graham pulled her away from me immediately. They knew I am a mutant, that I am very strong, I could break their bones without breaking a sweat. They also knew that I am a killer and a monster. Who else would join the Master in her quest for chaos?
I sighed. I got bored already. “Master, can we just go? This is getting boring...”
The Master and the Doctor stopped their banter and glanced at me.
The Master gave me a fond smile before stepped forward toward me but was stopped when the Doctor gripped her wrist.
“Master, please...” The Doctor begged. “The way you are going right now...Gallifrey will come for you and her...”
“Doctor, are you worried for us or are you worried me and (name) will destroy your precious Gallifrey, Mr President, dear?” The Master pulled her wrist out of his hold and mockingly took a bow at him.
The Doctor groaned in frustration.
The Master grinned mischievously as she walked backward and then turned around to face me. She pulled me to her and kissed me hard.
I smiled into the kiss. From the corner of my eyes, I saw the companion of the Doctor making a disgusted face at the sight of us kissing.
“Come on then, my dear, our work here is done.” She said.
“I’m sorry.” The Doctor suddenly said.
We ignored him as we walked away from them. I was about to put on coordinates on my vortex manipulator that would get us back to the Master’s Tardis but stopped when the next thing he said gave me chill.
“But I can’t let you two be together any longer.” The Doctor said.
I turned around and growled at him for the threat on us.
The Master stopped me and turned to glare at the Doctor. “And how are you going to stop us?”
Yaz suddenly grabbed me and put some bracelet on my wrist. I didn’t expect that so I have no way to stop it. She is quick to release me and took a few steps away from me before I could attack her.
“Master!” I yelled when I realized I couldn’t get the bracelet off me.
The Master turned to look at me and at the bracelet just as the Doctor raised his sonic screwdriver toward me, activating the bracelet. Her eyes widened as she realized something. “Nooo!” she yelled as she tried to reach me but before she could, I vanished in a blip.
The Master fell into the ground in shock then she turned to look at the Doctor. “What have you done, Doctor? Where did you send her?”
The Doctor actually looked almost sorry but he was calm. “(name) is safe. I just send her faraway from here, to a place not of this universe, where you can never reach out...”
The Master stood as she glared at him. “Oh, you just watch me, Doctor.” Her eyes blazed in fury.
7777
I fell into the ground and immediately puke. Cold sweat covered my face. I blinked my eyes and tried to focus on the surrounding.
I was in a park on Earth...I think? But something is wrong. The sky...the color is a bit off and the oxygen here just not the same as I used to. The Master once told me in passing about alternate universes where some things were different and others remained the same. I dreaded the thought that damn Doctor actually would go this far in order to separate me from the Master.
The Master. My heart felt like it was about to shatter. I was hoping to hear her voice right about now. But I realized I was alone. I glanced at the cursed bracelet on my wrist. To my surprise, the bracelet fell off my wrist easily this time as if it knew it already finished its purpose. I growled angrily. I begrudgingly picked up the offending item, hoping to figure out a way back using it. But I am not a genius like the Time Lords, hell, not even a human genius. I am just me, a mutant, and a result of human experimentation gone wrong.
I fingered the vortex manipulator on my other wrist and to my great frustration, it was broken. Not that the vortex manipulator would be much use, it can’t be used to travel to another alternate universe.
I prayed I was wrong, that I wasn’t in some alternate universe. My hope got smashed when I confirmed my worst fear as I pick up the newspaper from the nearby seller.
I made a vow though that I would do everything in my power to return my beloved, the Master. I have to find some calibre genius to use to figure out this dilemma. I wonder if I should track down the version of the Master in this world but decided against it until further investigation.
“Just you wait, Master, nothing can separate us...” I whispered.
Six months later...
Six painful months later, I was still stuck in this alternate earth. I have to work to support myself. I worked in a diner somewhere in New York. I went my daily life with annoyance. It was a miracle I could restrain myself from killing half the idiot people here.
I lay on my dirty bed inside my small and dirty rent room. I raised the vortex manipulator, hoping it would stop being broken already and let me use it to travel off the earth. I growled as I shake the damn thing really hard. To my surprise, it started to make a bleeping sound.
I moved into a seating position and observed the vortex manipulator. “No way, it works!” I said with a disbelief laugh.
7777
Thank God, the vortex manipulator works otherwise I would have loss my sanity and started killing people just for breathing wrong near my vicinity.
So, what is the first thing I do? I track down a version of myself in this universe. Apparently, the thing that remained the same is the other me being caught and experimented on by the Division.
Division is an organization who worked outside the law and consists of both alien and human. Their main purpose is to monitor the happening within the universe and sell the information to those who is willing to pay a high price. They are not the good guys, obviously. Their purpose is to create a world that fit their agenda, so, depending on the current agenda; they might step in as the saviour of the people or become the instigator of chaos.
Their purpose at the time they caught me back in my universe is to create super soldier with the intention to sell them to the highest bidder.
I was an orphan after I lost my parents in accident. I was nobody, no family, so they thought even if I was missing, no one would truly care. I was taken to be used as an experiment. Luckily, if you can call it that; I was one of the successful experiments. I got super strength. I broke through the restrain in my fit of anger and attacked every last one of my tormentors with my bare hands.
I was covered in blood from head to toes after I finished with my slaughters. That’s when the Master came into view. She took me in after that, she took care of me and she helped me understand my power and to use it to do the most damage. I love every second of it.
Of course, at first, I didn’t trust the Master. I almost kill her that first time but something she said made me let her go and it helped that my rage already subsided by then, enough for me to see reason. I demanded to be left alone and she did for the most part. She gained my trust after she saved me when I was taken by surprise and ambushed by Division’s soldiers.
She saved me even though I almost strangle her to death the first time we met. She reasoned with me that she is on my side. She gave me my space albeit with a lot of mocking on her part. Once I let her in, she showed me everything, taught me everything I need to know to survive and to fight back. I knew she is not on a side of good, she told me so, but thanks to her, I craved for chaos as she did after she show me the joy of ruining lives. They have ruined mine so why shouldn’t I ruin others too?
The Doctor found me and wanted to take me in his care. The Master allowed him to take me just so we could play a nasty game with him and his companion. That’s how I knew the Doctor and his stupid fam. Apparently, I passed the test from the Master regarding whether I would be influenced by the goodness of the Doctor.
The Doctor warned me that the Master is only using me, that she didn't really care about me. But he didn't know us. I have enough confident after the time we spent together to believe that the Master did care for me. I didn't know if she loves me but I didn't mind it for now. I love how she kissed me hard and flirted with me. She made me happy and that's what matters.
Anyway, back at present time, the base where the other me is imprisoned, located in the same place as my past so, sneaking my way into the base is quite easy. I disguised myself and I located the other me, she was restrained and looked absolutely pathetic. Do I want to rescue her? But I would like to know if she is truly the same as me? Will she gain super strength too?
I thought about the Master and wonder what I should do. I think she would want me to mess the version of the Doctor here. So I made a plan to get the Doctor here and rescue the other me and the others. The Master taught me how to cheat with psychic paper. I was able to send SOS signal toward what I hopefully into the Doctor’s psychic paper. Now I only have to wait for the goodie-good team to arrive.
7777
I was floored when I saw the version of the Doctor here. I recognized her companion, the annoying fam I remembered back in my universe. But the Doctor...she has my beloved’s face, she has the Master’s face! How is that even possible? I confirmed her identity when I heard Yaz called her the Doctor. Ugh, I’m going to barf. And what kind of clothes she is wearing? Glad to know every version of the Doctor in universe apparently have bad taste in fashion. Seriously. My beloved Master dressed better than her!
Wait, if she is the Doctor, then the man who is called the Doctor back in my universe would be...the Master over here? Ugh, what kind of twisted world is this?!
As predicted, once team Tardis found out about the human experiment going on inside the base, they set their goodie-good shoes to set them free. The Doctor even gave whoever in charge of the base a firm oncoming storm talk.
I watched in secret as the Doctor interacts with the other me. The other me looked very grateful to be rescued. The Doctor took all patients to the best hospital in galaxy. They even stick around for a while to observe the damage on the patients.
That’s when I made my way to the room where the other me currently lying in bed peacefully. She woke up when she noticed someone in the room and her eyes widened in shock when she saw me.
I grinned viciously. “Hello, me.” I said as I pulled the machinery that monitor her heartbeat off. It wouldn’t do to alert the others that I was here.
“What?”
“Goodbye, me.” I said flatly as I grabbed a pillow and pushed it to cover her entire face rendering her unable to breathe. Easily, I removed her body and dumped it somewhere where no one would find for a long while. I took her place and get into the bed and put the machinery back on me.
Not long after, a nurse came in for my check-up and to draw some blood. The result of that blood test would surely get the Doctor to come and see me. The Doctor can’t resist mystery so she will definitely want to talk to me.
Mission to infiltrate the Doctor’s inner circle is now commencing.
7777
All I have to do next is put on doe eyes and pretend to be surprise to suddenly have super strength and faked a mini freak-out. I purposely broke everything in sight in my total panic and acted as if I didn’t mean to. It wasn’t hard to do. I smiled as I remembered my past. I once got amnesiac and forgot about my power and did exactly that, breaking stuff without meaning too. The Master told me I was very adorable and very damsel in distress-like. But she was glad when I finally got my memory back because she can't stand that version of me who was stupidly innocent.
So, now I just have to pretend I didn’t know my own strength. As predicted, the Doctor invited me to travel with her on board of the Tardis. She said she will help me understand my power and if there is a way to cure it off me in case I didn’t want the power. I got a bio damper on my person to hide the void stuff that the Master once told me someone who have crossed on alternate universe will have. I can't allow the Doctor to find out that I was not of this universe.
Yaz, Ryan and Graham are very welcoming and friendly. They kept sending me a look of pity every time I told them about the torture that the Division put me through. Since it really did happened to me, I didn't have to fake the emotion regarding it.
The Doctor, though, seemed very upset. I could see the dark look passed her expression for a few seconds and on that few seconds; I almost thought she is my beloved. The Master once told me about the Doctor's dark side and should he ever give in, he will be the cruelest villain in the whole universe. I must admit I'm curious about the Doctor's dark side but on this version of the Doctor, the one who has my beloved's face.
The Master, I wonder how she is doing back in our universe. Did she still trying to get me back? She has to, right? She has yet to grow bored of me. I'm the best companion she could ever have. My heart aches for her. Seeing this version of the Doctor certainly didn't help.
Sometimes I want to kiss the Doctor whenever she is being adorable, then next thing I know, I just want to punch her and claw her stupid face whenever she is being too sunshiny for me. Why did she has to have the Master's face?
She made my life difficult because sometimes I could have believe she is a better version of the Master, one that might be capable to love me properly. But I know better. I am a monster and the only one who could ever love someone like me would only be someone who is as mess up in the head as me, like the Master, one could hope. Even then, I still don't know what exactly I am to her. We were not exactly traditional couple. The circumstance of our meeting is shaky at best.
I clawed at my arms till I drew blood at the thought I almost got swayed by the goodness that is the Doctor. If the Master knew, she would be disgusted with me.
7777
We went to a random planet on the Doctor's whim. Next thing I knew, the fam and me were taken hostage by the royal family in order to ensure the Doctor's cooperation. I was ecstatic to see the oncoming storm in action. I was planning to let thing unfold to see what is going to happen.
And then this royal bastard has to go be an ass-hat. He went after Yaz for being mouthy. Stupid bitch. He tried to rape her. And he was going to do it in front of us too. I snapped, enough said. I must have black out for a bit because I woke up drenched in blood in a corridor littered with mangled corpses. And the companions were understandably decided to keep their distance from me. They were afraid of me.
Well, this is suck. I hated it when my fit of rage turned me into a basic hulk. I have no control. It was a miracle that the Doctor's companions survive unharmed during my raging period. This kind of ruined my plan to stay the innocent companion for a while. Will the Doctor kick me out of the Tardis now that I did this? Surely, she would want to keep her companion safe from me. But I have to stay with the Doctor until I could figure out to use her to get back to the Master. What do I do now?
I must still in haze from the blood lust that I didn't realize the Doctor has bent her knees in front of me, uncaring that her clothes will be littered in blood. She was fussing over me. She pulled her sonic screwdriver to scan me. She look relieved upon realizing I was unharmed and that relief immediately turned to horror when she realized what exactly I have done. The companion steered clear of me. They cautioned the Doctor to do the same. But the Doctor ignored them and gently shaking me out of my stupor.
She thought I was in shock and I played along. I was mostly pissed at my out of control rage. And then, I remembered when I have that royal ass-hat's neck gripped tight within my hand, I saw the Master, or at least, a hallucination of sort.
"I love it when you are feeling murderous, dear." She said with a wink. "Go ahead, you know you want to. Make it bloody. Make him suffer. I knew you always had a weakness for these types of bad guys..."
She was right. I would kill indiscriminately if I have to and if she asked me to. But rapists and torturers pissed me off greatly, the Master said I suffered traumatic experience with that sort of thing, which make me lose my shit whenever I come across those types. I honestly didn't quite remember the trauma though. I took very great pleasure in torturing and killing them. The man was begging me to release him but I ignored him. I would rather listen to my beloved.
"Though, I'm kind of worry that you are beginning to be a softie, dear. Staying with the Doctor would do that to you. Are you now good, my dear?"
I growled at that.
"Was it because she has my face? Did she make you want to be a good girl?" She asked teasingly.
I tightened my grip on the man's neck.
"Prove it then. Kill him. Kill his royal family and his soldiers. Make it bloody rain, dear." The Master grinned as she urged me to surrender to my blood lust. "Show me a bad girl."
I could distinctly hear the companion saying something to me but I ignored them. I lost my shit afterward.
7777
The Doctor covered up my crime. I would have thought the goodie-good would surrender me to authority. She said she forgives me. She knew I didn't mean to do it. Yaz did say I did it to save her from being raped...somewhat. Even though she can't explain why I lost my shit and gone on a killing spree.
I faked a panic attack and asked to be left alone after I cleaned myself off all the blood. I even cried telling them that I was a monster and I deserved to die and sobbing stuff like that. As predicted, the Doctor and companion tried to calm me down and reassured me that I am a good person at heart. I almost snorted at that. Almost. I purposely being dramatic and said I have to leave the Tardis now. The Doctor won't let me go though. I think she wanted to keep an eye on me. Ugh, now I have to be extra careful around her. I hope I could get back to my universe soon. This universe is suck and I miss the Master so much.
In the end, all ended well, I remained on board of the Tardis. Though, the dynamic is changed now that they were wary of me. It was like they were waiting for me to lose my sanity again and go on a random killing spree. But I remained angelic for display. I acted with hesitation and wary of leaving the safety of the Tardis. The Doctor promised me she would keep an eye on me and made sure I will be okay for the duration of our next adventure.
7777
I purposely put myself in danger in order to rescue the Doctor during one of our routine adventure. I did it to establish reputation within the Doctor's circle that I could be redeemed or whatever. At least, that is what I said to convince myself. It was her face, my beloved’s face that made me want to save her. For a second, I forgot that she was not the Master and I didn't want her to get hurt so, I jumped into a line of fire to save her. That is what happened. No more.
The Doctor kept giving me a look I can't decipher, once I was on board of the Tardis, resting in the med-bay, after she treated my injuries. She was upset that I risk my life for her; that I could tell. Well, that won't happen again, pal, don't worry!!
7777
Oh, this is bullshit. Of all the thing that could happen to me, I had to get ambushed by the Division. They somehow heard that the experiment on 'me' was successful and now they wanted to capture me for their own gain. But they were prepared. They slapped a cuff that somehow damper my ability. I was helpless and under their mercy much to my annoyance.
And then I saw her. Sonya. I knew her back in my universe. During captivity, we became friend. But, she was one of the failure subjects and she got disposed as a result. But, this Sonya...she has power. She can control mind and bitch is trying to control my mind. Well, shit! Apparently, the Division has got to her earlier in this universe and she has become their lap dog. I saw the collar she wears though. I recognized the collar back in my universe. It has a calming effect and a bomb encased within to ensure the subjects' cooperation. They put one on me here too. Double shit!
The Doctor and companion have no idea who captured me but I have faith that the Doctor will figure it out. She is smart, isn't she? She will know and hopefully come to my rescue soon before they turn me into mindless pet of the Division.
Back in my universe, the Master made it a point to invade my mind once I deemed her okay. She said she wanted to make sure I would be ready in case someone or heck, maybe even the Doctor, tried to get inside my mind to make me agreeable to whoever. She taught me to put a block on my mind. I was very grateful for her lessons now. Sonya is hilariously frustrated because she can't remove the block in my mind. But, I could tell she is very powerful. It would only be a matter of time before she breaks into my mind. I can't afford that. She could outed my true identity. If only I have my power, I would have snapped her neck in an instant.
It finally happened. She broke through the block. I immediately pushed my memory of being friend with the Sonya of my universe. Sonya look confused. I showed her my devastation when the Division took my Sonya away. I showed her the experiments on me and how I lost my control and killed most of Division's people on the base back then.
"You...are not (name)." She said. "What happened to the real (name)?"
I showed her my memory of killing the other me.
She stared at me as if I was crazy. "Why would you do that?"
I pictured the face of the Doctor and my intention with her. "I want to go home..." I finally whispered.
'You...are really not from this universe?' She asked telepathically.
I nodded and I said some stuff to her from within my mind so that no one can hear. 'But you can't tell anyone...' I begged. 'Please help me. Don't let Division control us.'
Sonya didn't reply for a few seconds.
'That collar contain bomb, you know, they lied to you. It does have calming effect but it was also a tracker and a bomb. They can't afford of losing their asset and if the assets become useless or a loose end, they will detonate the bomb.' I explained.
'Do you know how to get the collar off?'
'I know of a way, yeah, but we need a sonic screwdriver. You need to contact the Doctor and tell them where we are.'
'The Doctor?'
'She can help us. She will be able to receive your telepathic message too.' I said. 'Do it if you want your freedom, Sonya.'
Sonya left without a word. I hope what I said convinced her or I have no choice but to serve as the Division's pet. Ugh, I would rather die. I tried to carefully mask my thought of killing Sonya deep down. If she knew, she would not want to help me.
7777
Alarm within the base suddenly blared loudly. I sighed in relief. I hope that would be the Doctor coming for me. Shortly after, the Doctor came inside the room where I was restrained. She let me go and I expressed my most sincere gratitude.
"Thank you." I whispered weakly. "Thank you for coming back for me."
The Doctor gave me a sweet smile as she sonic the collar offs me. But I noticed she hesitated for a brief moment to sonic the damn cuff off me. Thank God, she did. "I got your message from Sonya. Nice girl."
"Where is she?"
"She is controlling the Division men to leave us alone." The Doctor said. "I really need to do something about this Division."
But, the Division is like that villain organization from those superheroes movies, hydra something, cut off one head and another grow, like worm or whatever? At least, back in my universe, when I hunted them, they just seemed to come back again one way of another. Even with the help of the Master, I still can't completely get rid of the Division. It would probably be the same over here.
"So, you already freed her from the collar? I'm glad I was right about you coming back to rescue us." I said with the most angelic look I can muster.
"Of course, I would. I would never abandon my companion." she said with cheerful tone.
"Is that what I am? Companion? Not a charity case?" I asked.
The Doctor glanced at me with an expression I can't comprehend. "I would like to think we are friend now, (name)."
Shit. That face... My heart just skipped a beat and I didn't like it one bit. I can't be catching feeling for her. I think I will barf.
7777
The Doctor took us to a carnival in some planet for holiday. I managed to purposely lose them. I pulled my vortex manipulator intending to take care of the loose end called Sonya.
But, she knew I was coming for her and she warned me not to cross her. What a bitch. She did promise to keep my secret. I warned her back that if she broke the promise, I would come for her and torture the hell out of her.
"You saw within my head. You know what I am capable of." I said.
Sonya nodded. "And you better not come back for me again later. Or I will take control of your mind and make you my puppet." she said.
So, I left her and returned to the carnival. I found the Doctor and companion immediately and apologized for making them worry.
The Doctor pulled me close to her and showed me one of the attractions that caught her attention. She asked me to play with her and so I did. Some people in the carnival thought we are a couple on a date.
7777
The next time team Tardis got into the usual trouble, it was the Doctor who stepped in and pulled me out of harm way to the point that she was the one who got hurt. I was pissed at the random villain of the weeks and I kind of lost my shit, wanted to go after him. I didn't see his minion drew their weapon toward me but the Doctor did and the goodie-good actually jumped and pushed me out of the way.
What the hell, Doctor? What the hell is wrong with you?? I was pissed at her and worried for her. That last one is new. But I calmed myself down by telling myself she would do the same for the other companion. But, her face, I hate to see her in pain. I kept telling myself it was because she looks like the Master; not because I care for her. The Doctor was okay, though, thankfully.
I suddenly was feeling angry at myself. Did I actually worry for the Doctor? She might have the Master's face but she is NOT the Master, dammit! Get a grip, Me!
I have to kill someone, right now, preferably, one of the good guys. Better yet, I thought I should leave the Tardis for the time being or maybe forever. The Doctor is no help anyway in figuring a way of home. Though, that was partly my fault because I didn't exactly tell her what I need from her, did I? Shit. Shit.
Perhaps I should try locating the version of the Master in this universe as much as it would make want to puke to ask the face of the Doctor back in my universe. But, with the Master, there is no guarantee he will want to help.
I growled angrily. "This is bullshit!!!" I raged at the world. "Fuck you, Doctor! Fuck you!!" I cursed the Doctor back in my universe. I hope the Master made him pay greatly for what he did to us.
7777
I left the Tardis. Pretty sure, the companions were relieved that I decided to go, especially Yaz. I was not blind; I knew she has feeling for the Doctor. And, I knew the Doctor also care for her a great deal. Given time, I think they would end up together. I also get that feeling with the Doctor and Yaz back in my universe is the same. Some things were meant to be. Did that mean I robbed the Master of this universe his (name)? Ugh, just no! The other (name) is better off dead.
The Doctor tried to stop me but I asked her to respect my decision. I spouted bullshit about wanting to find myself. She was reluctant to drop me off but eventually relents.
So, I left and I decided to take a break from the world for a while. Then I found her, my mother, I meant, the other (name)’s mother. It was purely coincidence to meet her. But I recognized her from the picture I used to keep back in the Master’s tardis. How can she be alive here? If she is alive, the other me actually still got a family, so, why was she captured by the Division?
I eventually found out that the other (name) ran away from home. Her mother was so happy to see me. She hugged me in tears. I was shocked. I let her took me home.
I missed my mother. I suddenly felt guilty for killing the other (name). I couldn’t tell her that I wasn’t her daughter. I was weak with nostalgic emotion and all I wanted right now is to be a daughter. So I did exactly that.
7777
I was happy for a while with my mother until the Division came again for me. This time, they knew the truth that I was not the real (name). They found her body and they were very curious about who I really am.
During the confrontation, my mother was taken hostage and eventually got killed. And the rest is…you can guess. I lost my shit again and went on a killing spree. I was lucky to get a move before they could slap that power-dampening cuff on me.
I was in pain. The grief of losing my mother, she wasn’t even my real mother, but it still hurts so badly. So, I did the only thing I could do to lessen the pain, I went hunting for Division and I tear every member of the cursed Division limb to limb. I let the monster out and I didn’t care.
Like I said before, this version of Division is pretty much the same as back in my universe which mean I knew most of their secret bases. I didn’t always use my bare hands. I used weapon and bomb to lure and destroy them. The Master would be proud of me. The Doctor would frown and be disappointed but who care about her opinion?
I went to one base and another. Pretty sure, the Doctor would eventually caught wind of what I have been doing and knowing her, she would try to capture and reason with me. Just like the Doctor in my universe once did to me. I didn’t care though. Let her come. But I won’t be letting her capture me. I have an exit strategy, one that I hate to use but I will if I have to. Lately, I felt like giving up altogether. I felt like I could never come home to the Master. I lose hope. What if the Master also given up on me? Why else she still not here to get me?
To my surprise though, it was Sonya who appeared before me. She was sorry for my loss but she begged me to stop killing.
“Get out of the way, Sonya! Do not make an enemy of me!” I yelled.
“If you won’t listen to me, maybe you will listen to her.” She said with a sigh.
I frowned before realizing that it was a trap as I turned around, the Doctor was already behind me and she was quick to put that damn power-dampening cuff on my wrist.
I screamed in rage as I attacked her. But I was no longer strong. She easily captured both of my wrists and tried to have me calm down. But I wouldn’t listen. I started sobbing and crying in her arms. Before I knew it, she put her hands over my forehead and I fell into a deep sleep.
7777
The next time I was awake, I was in a glass prison. Predictable. I was angry as I raged within my prison. I knew I was not on Tardis, the Doctor probably didn’t want me to endanger her precious companions. This is somewhere I don’t know. But the security of the prison is of high quality. I can’t believe it. The Doctor actually put me in a private prison, not a galaxy one that I can be thankful of, but still a prison is a prison. I hated this.
The Doctor and Sonya eventually came to visit me.
The Doctor glanced at me in sorrow.
I observed her and then turned to Sonya. “You broke your promise.”
Sonya shrugged. “I have to. You are making scenes with your reckless killing.”
“When I get out of here, I’m going to enjoy torturing the hell out of you, bitch.” I said with a cold smile.
The Doctor stepped in front of Sonya and pleaded with me. “What happen to you, (name)? This isn’t you.”
“Really? And how do you know that this isn’t me, Doctor?” I asked mockingly. “If Sonya here has told you the truth, then you know everything you think you know about me is a lie.”
“But you saved me. You saved my friends. We saved each other.”
I scoffed. “It was just part of my elaborate ruse.”
The Doctor looked like she want to argue but she didn’t. She scrutinized me with her sad eyes. Finally, she asked, “Why did you kill the Division men?”
I shrugged. “They killed my mother.”
“Don’t you mean the other (name)’s mother? Who are you, really? Sonya said that you are from an alternate universe. How did you get here?” The Doctor asked, no, demanded. “Why would you kill the other you?”
I smiled viciously. “How else would I be able to get your attention, Doctor? I need to be with you in the Tardis.”
“Why?”
“I want to go home.” I finally said. “I thought if I stay with you, I would eventually figure out the way home.”
“Why didn’t you come to me and ask for my help honestly?” She asked. “Why use the elaborate ruse to gain my trust?”
I sighed. “I suppose I thought it would make her proud.”
“Who?”
“The Master.”
“You know the Master back in your original universe?”
I smiled evilly. “Jealous?”
The Doctor scoffed. “You kept bad company.”
“Well, ours is always a bad romance.”
“You? And the Master?” she asked in disbelief.
“Why so surprised? Who else would love a monster but a fellow monster?”
“You are not a monster, (name).”
“You are still deluding yourself, Doctor. The (name) you think you know never existed.”
The Doctor is visibly upset with herself and me. “How did you get here?”
“I never wanted to be here. It was you, the other you, who did this to me! He felt threatened by the Master and me, so, instead of killing me, he sent me far away from my beloved.”
“You want to go back home to the Master.” The Doctor said, finally understanding my motive.
“She can’t be allowed to come back to the Master.” Sonya suddenly said.
I glared at her. “Shut your mouth, bitch!”
“I saw her mind. The word ‘hybrid’ came to mind.” Sonya turned to face the Doctor. “…something about a crossbred of warrior races that will stand in the ruins of…”
The Doctor’s eyes widened as she turned to look at me again. “You and the Master…are the hybrid? Did you two destroy Gallifrey?”
I rolled my eyes. “Gallifrey still stands, at least the last time I heard about it.” I said.
“The Doctor, in your original universe, he believed that you and the Master are the hybrid.”
“Not only him; the Time Lords seemed to think so, at least that was the Master said to me. They kept trying to kill us. We haven’t even step one foot within Gallifrey and already they condemn us. Time Jackass.”
The Doctor frowned at me. “Sonya is right. I can’t let you go back to the Master.”
My jaw dropped at what she said. “Doctor, don’t you dare…”
She glanced at me in sorrow. “I’m sorry, (name).”
“So what? You are going to keep me here? Like a freaking pet?” I yelled as I hit on the glass wall in front of me in my anger.
The Doctor sighed. “I will cure you, (name). That power of yours, I study the project, you are always angry because of the power within your veins. I am going to help you.”
“I don’t need your help. If you think you can experiment on me again, think again!” I yelled. “You think I wasn’t prepared for this eventuality?!”
“Oh, I know what you did. I removed that bomb you planted inside your body. I won’t allow you to hurt yourself.” The Doctor said calmly.
My eyes widened in panic when I realized my exit strategy is basically taken away from me. “No. NOO.”
7777
I didn’t know how long I was in the prison. It felt like months. It has been a while since the Doctor’s last visit. Sonya is within the prison as some sort of warden. She saw my mind and she knew I have been thinking various way of killing her once I got out. But she was confident that I wouldn’t get out.
With times, I did lose my hope of getting out. I can’t even kill myself. The Doctor has taken that choice away from me. People always do that to me, except, the Master. But she is not here. Why isn’t she here???
I got depressed.
7777
“Hi, honey, I’m home.”
My mouth hangs open as I saw the Master, my Master, right in front of me.
The Master winked at me. “Step back; let me get you out of this horrid place.”
I followed her instruction and took a step back away from the glass wall.
Once the glass wall shattered, I walked forward and stared at her, still not believing my eyes.
“Well, what are you waiting for?” The Master asked impatiently.
I slowly smiled as I jumped out and hugged her. “Where were you?!”
“Ugh, you smelled.”
“Oh, nice, ruin the moment, why don’t you?” I said in annoyance.
It was then I noticed she wasn’t alone. Yaz is there but she looks like she is in daze. The Master must have used mind control on her.
“Is that…?” I asked as I glanced at the Master.
“She is the Yaz of this universe. I found you through her. Her Doctor dropped her on earth for a break. She thought I am the Doctor.” The Master explained. “Speaking of, I can’t believe that the other me is actually the Doctor. What’s up with that?” She scrunched her nose in disgust.
I laughed. “Exactly what I thought the first time I saw her.”
The Master grinned at me. “I heard you have been a very naughty girl. Tricking the Doctor into making you a companion…but you got caught. What happened?”
I frowned and grinned slowly. “Did you happen to meet a Sonya on the way here?”
“The telepath. She tried to use mind control on me. But I turned the table on her.”
“Of course you did.” I said as I glanced at her with fondness. I raised my wrist in front of her. “Do you mind?”
The Master smirked. “Say please.”
I rolled my eyes. “Pretty please.” I said deadpanned.
She grinned and used her version of sonic cane to disable the cuff off my wrist.
I smiled. “Thank you, love.”
Sonya was screaming non-stop as I kept my promise to torture her. The Master is dancing in the middle of room, waving her cane around, dancing to the telepath’s scream.
I knew she is sending psychic message for the Doctor to help her. But I won’t let the Doctor rescued her so I snapped her neck immediately. I know the Doctor will be coming anyway…for Yaz. I glanced at Yaz who finally regained her bearing and was staring at me and the Master in fear.
“How could you do this, (name)?” Yaz asked.
I rolled my eyes. “Why wouldn’t I do this? The Doctor and Sonya trapped me in a prison.”
“They just wanted to help you.”
“I don’t need their help.”
“Obviously you do.”
“You really need to shut up, Yaz, don’t make me want to kill you.”
Yaz visibly paled and she, thankfully, shut her mouth.
“The Doctor is on her way here. Should we leave?” I asked as I turned toward the Master.
“Why? I would like to meet the other me, the one you have been chummy with.” The Master replied.
I rolled my eyes. “You can’t seriously be jealous. She was annoying as hell, you would hate her. I hate her.”
“Then, we should torture her together.” The Master said with an evil grin. “What should we do to her Yaz?”
I shrugged. “Are you sure? You said the Doctor is…”
“I know what I said about him and I don’t care. The Doctor here will pay the price as the other Doctor did for what they did to you.”
I was touched that she actually was mad on my behalf. “What did you do to the other Doctor? I hope you give that bastard hell.”
“Oh, I trapped his Yaz on the same mirror he used to trap one of his enemies, a family of blood? Whatever. He went inside the mirror to fetch his pet so I shattered it. It would take him a while to figure out a way out. Best case scenario would be making him watch his Yaz grew old inside that mirror while he remained trapped and immortal. He always hated ending and now he will be forced to face an ending.”
I frowned. “Wish you would throw him into the void…” I muttered. “He has the tendency to come back.”
“Don’t worry, my dear, we will deal with him once we return to our universe.” The Master promised with a feral grin. “And then we will fulfill the hybrid prophecy…” She pulled me to her and kissed me hard.
I honestly didn’t care about the prophecy. I was just happy to be back by her side.
The Doctor’s Tardis materialized on the room. She stepped out of the door and was taken aback to see her own doppelganger was kissing me.
The Master stopped the kiss and turned to greet the Doctor. She grinned at her. “Hello, Doctor. I heard you have been treating my companion very poorly.”
The Doctor turned to look at me. Her eyes widened. “I…she is the Master?”
I smiled a chilling smile. “Now you know…”
The Doctor’s face looked very pale.
Of course, the Master and the Doctor would have to have the same usual dialog of savior-villain theme again. So, I let them have their moment.
“What did you do to Yaz?” The Doctor demanded.
“Why don’t you ask her yourself?” The Master said.
“Yaz, are you okay?” The Doctor asked.
“I think so.” Yaz replied.
The Doctor then proceeds to threaten us but was stopped when she saw me put a hand over Yaz’s neck.
“Let us leave and you can have her back.” I said.
The Doctor frowned. “You know I don’t take kindly to a threat.”
“And I don’t take kindly to people who imprison me!!” I yelled angrily. “Don’t test me!” I turned to the Master who is glancing at me curiously. “I just want to go home. I’m done with her and this universe.”
The Master nodded, for once acknowledging my wish. “Your wish is my command.” She raised a hand toward me.
I pushed Yaz hard toward the Doctor. The Doctor was barely able to catch her. I walked toward the Master as I rose to reach for her hand.
The Master and I disappeared with her vortex manipulator.

They are now inside the Master’s tardis in space.
The Master put her forehead over mine. “I’m sorry that I took so long, my dear.”
“I’m just glad that you found me.” I said with a watery smile.
“Did you ever doubt I would?” She whispered softly
“Well, truthfully…”
The Master pulled away from me. “Don’t ruin the moment.” She said.
I laughed. “You did it first.”
“You did smell bad before.”
“Now who is ruining the moment?”

“The Doctor, she said, this power I have, it was what causing me so much anger, a side effect of the experiment? Did you know?”
“Yes.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Does it matter?”
I pondered over it. “Not really. I don’t regret it. This power, it was what led me to you.”
“Oh, stop it; next, you are going to break into a song.”

And they returned back to their original universe where the wrath of Galifrey descends upon them, leading the army to squash down the suspected hybrid before they ever think to set foot into Gallifrey.
The Master lost her only companion that day. She was taken and imprisoned within Gallifrey where she eventually hack her way out and found out the truth of the Timeless Child. She is the Timeless Child.
In a fit of rage, she destroyed Gallifrey.
A/N2: I love Florence and the machine; I listen to Cosmic Love on a loop while writing this.
Originally, I planned to make the Master and Reader stay a while in 13th Doctor’s universe causing chaos. 13th Doctor would eventually defeat the Master and tricked the Reader by pretending to be the Master.
But the Reader would recognize her as the Doctor through how she kissed her. Because the Master is complicated person and although she does love the Reader, she also hates her that every time they kissed, she would give her psychic message in her mind about how much she hates the reader for making her weak.
I decided not to write this because I kind of feeling like the reader is tired and just want to go home and hopefully cuddle with her beloved? Though that bit with the reader’s death come so suddenly. I wanted to end it with fluff but somehow it ended with the timeless child fiasco.
Well, that’s it folk. Hope you love this fic. I know it is far from perfect but I’m just going to say that I’m evil that’s why I posted this regardless whether anyone actually bother reading this fic.

Best Tv Shows Ever
'Lost' 2004-10
A cosmic mystery trip so complex nobody has ever really figured it all out – a band of castaways trapped on an island following the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, having a smoke monster and also the enigmatic group called the Others, several time lines, the Seventies back-story of the Dharma Initiative, each episode filled with clues to be argued over for years to come. Lost proved there was a broad audience around who needed their Television to be more unpredictable and difficult, not less – and Television would never be the same.

'Star Trek' 196669
The Star-Ship Business took off having a five-year mission: "To discover odd new worlds, to to locate new life and new civilizations," and it succeeded in making the most beloved of sci fi franchises, not just inspiring many spin offs but also codifying fanfiction as an art form. Gene Roddenberry's original sequence stays the basis, with William Shatner's awesomely pulpy Capt. Kirk, Leonard Nimoy's logical Mr. Spock, Bones, Sulu, Uhura and Scotty. They speak to strange and inexplicable lifeforms – Romulans, Gorns, Joan Collins. During its three years, Startrek suffered from low ratings until NBC pulled the plug, but thanks to the most doggedly loyal of TV cults (remember when "Trekkie" was an insult?), Roddenberry's vision lives long and prospers for this day.

'The Daily Show' 1996-Present
The fa-Ke news show that became mo Re credible as opposed to news that is real. Comedy Central started The Daily Present when Jon Stewart took over in 1999, but it hit its stride. The Daily Present got more politically abrasive as the news got progressively worse. Stewart had the rage of a man who had signed on at the finish of the Bill Clinton years, only to finish up with an America significantly more scary and more ugly for, as well as the anger showed. "It is a comic box lined with unhappiness," he informed Rolling Stone in 2006. While the franchise struggles on without him, Everyday alumni John Oliver and Samantha Bee keep that hard-hitting spirit on their own displays.

'Friends' 1994 2004
A team of twenty somethings in New York sit around complaining about their day jobs, their sex lives, their screwed -up households. It's a formula countless sitcoms tried to get right on the years (great try, Herman's Head), but it took the Central Perk crew to get the best mix of personalities, from Lisa Kudrow's flaky folksinger to the schlub-fox romance of David Schwimmer's Ross and Jennifer Aniston's Rachel. Even at the time, it was absurd how luxurious Monica's West Village apartment and large was, and also the storyline where she's banging Tom Selleck just gets more abdomen-turning the Blue Bloods stays that are lengthier on-the-air.

'South Park' 1997-Present
Trey Parker and Matt Stone touched America someplace special and deep, and also you got to respect their authori-teh. Year after year, this cartoon began, Matt Stone informed Rolling Stone, "we'd view success as finally acquiring to the point where we get canceled because no one gets it." So here's to not exactly twenty years of failure – and hopefully 2 more.

'The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson' 196292
Heeeeeeere's Johnny! There's a cause Carson stays the template for each and every late-night host, after ruling The To Night Show for three decades. Like a TV answer to Frank Sinatra, he epitomized Rat Pack cool, and his monologues were a sound track to generations of Americans boozing every night themselves to slumber. Nearly 2-5 years after he signed-off (and more than 10 years after he died), Carson's the ghost king who nevertheless haunts evening. When he abdicated in 1992, Letterman and Jay Leno started battling for his throne and never quit. (In his last display, Letterman cracked, "It looks like I am not planning to get The Tonight Show.")

TV Series Third Watch
'The Sopranos' 1999-2007
The crime saga that slice the the history of Television kicking off a golden age when abruptly something seemed possible. About how much you could get away with on the little screen together with The Sopranos, David Chase smashed all of the rules. And he developed an American antihero in James Gandolfini's New Jersey Mob boss, Tony Soprano, presiding over a crew of gangsters who also double as dads and broken husbands, guys seeking to stay using their murderous strategies and dark recollections. As the late, great Gandolfini told Rolling Stone in 2001, "I noticed David Chase say one time that it's about people who lie to themselves, as we all do. Lying to ourselves on a daily basis and the mess it creates." What an inspiring mess it is. Since it transformed the world, this specific poll was run away with by the Sopranos. Chase confirmed just how story-telling ambition that was much tv could be brought to by you, and it didn't take long for everybody else to rise to his challenge. The breakthroughs of the next few years – The Wire, Mad Guys, Breaking Poor – could not have occurred without The Sopranos kicking the door down. But Chase had a difficult time convincing any network to battle a story of a guilt- gangster who goes to treatment, while his mother plots to kill him. "We'd no idea this show would appeal to folks," he told Rolling Stone. "The display really unexpectedly made this kind of splash that it screwed all of US up." The Sopranos kept heading for the long bomb over six masterful seasons on HBO having a wild mix of blood shed and humor. When FBI agents tell Uncle Junior which mobsters they want him to finger, he says using a shrug, "I want to fuck Angie Dickinson – let's see who gets lucky first." The Sopranos is full of damaged figures who linger on in the long term parking of our national imagination – Edie Falco's Carmela, Dominic Chianese's Junior, Michael Imperioli's Christopher, Tony Sirico's Paulie Walnuts. E Street Band guitarist Steve Van Zandt became Tony's lieutenant Silvio – Chase spotted him on early Bruce Springsteen album addresses. (As Chase told Rolling Stone, "There was something about the E Street Band that looked like a crew.") It might not have been possible without Gandolfini's slow-burning intensity – he was the only actor who could deliver Tony's angst to life. But the writing, directing and acting went locations Television had never reached before. Where Christopher and Paulie Walnuts get lost in the woods, realizing the Russian gangster they tried to whack is nevertheless out there-in the darkness, the Sopranos arguably hit its innovative peak with all the well-known Pine Barrens episode. They shiver in the cold. ("It is the the fuckin' Yukon out there!") They wait. And worry. The Sopranos never solved this mystery – for all we know, the Russian is still atlarge, yet another key these guys can not shake off. On The Sopranos, family loyalties flip, both in the streets and a T home. Beloved characters can get whacked a T any moment. It kept that perception of danger alive proper up to the final seconds. And not quite a decade after it faded to black in a Jersey diner together with the juke-box enjoying "Do Not Stop Believin'," The Sopranos stays the standard all ambitious TV aspires to fulfill.

'30 Rock' 200613
Alec Baldwin said it best: "You are truly the Picasso of loneliness." He's a point. The Liz Lemon of Tina Fey is one gal who spends her evenings working on on her behalf evening cheese playing Monopoly alone or viewing the Life Time movie My Stepson Is My Cyber-Husband. But Fey created her a timeless heroine -space experience at The Girlie Show to the backstage antics, having a crazy- deep bench that included Jack McBrayer, Jane Krakowski and Tracy Morgan. And Baldwin chewed up the role of his life, turning what might have been a generic sitcom boss into the only guy worthy to stand-by Lemon.

'The Office (U.K.)' 2001 03
Ricky Gervais created one of TV's most agonizing comic tyrants in David Brent – a bitter, awkward, pompous ball of vanities terrorizing his workers at a London paper organization. He fidgets, fondles his tie, cracks dreadful jokes, plays guitar ("Free Love Free Way"!), invisible to anyone except the longsuffering office drones who have to put up with him. This mockumentary raised the cringe level of sitcoms every where, spawning the remarkably great U.S. version (also on this checklist) while paving the way for the glories of Parks & Re Creation and Peep-Show.
