The Wedding of Jazzmine & Fenton Malcom
One year ago today we gathered at the breathtaking Sandon Hall to celebrate one of the most beautiful days of my life—My sister‘s wedding.
The grand estate nestled in the heart of the countryside was the perfect backdrop for an autumn wedding.
The air was Crisp with the magic of autumn as gold leaves twirled down like confetti from nature herself.
It was the perfect setting for a day filled of love and joy. Every detail seemed to echo the warmth and richness of the season from the vibrant florals to the soft glow of the prestigious venue historic charm
As made of honour, I had the privilege of not only standing by my sister side but also crafting the florals buttonholes corsages and styling the entire venue.
The flowers were a mix of dried pampers grass and soap blooms carefully chosen to evoke the earthy beauty of autumn soft neutral tones blended seamlessly with the Seasons warm glow creating a look that was both neutral and sophisticated.
As I look back with so many beautiful pictures to share and reminded of how magical that day was let’s take a moment to relive the memory surrounded by the beauty of autumn and the joy of that special day.

"I thought I've asked you clearly not to wander alone?" Jack frowned.
Tim was kicking snow from his shoes. Not that it was helpful — he was covered in snow everywhere else.
Jack felt it was wrong this man starting to have such an influence on him as he instantly wanted to squish him. Tim turned, panted heavily, and smiled.
"Look, what I've found!" his eyes twinkled with true euphoria as he reached his robotic fist out. "No. Close your eyes first." he changed his mind.
"If it's something nasty, you're sleeping in the barn." Jack said, closing his hollow eye socket.
Timothy didn't catch a trick as he was shaking from excitement and cold at once.
Jack watched his fingers open to reveal a plant with flattened green leaves and bright red berries, some of which Tim squashed a little by accident.
"It's fucking mistletoe! In the middle of this all snow!" Timothy almost sprang on the spot with excitement. "Oh look!"
Tim stepped closer to touch Jack's blazer. Tim balanced a branch in the buttonhole of it, making it a corsage.
"It'll stay if you have a pin." Tim patted it slightly, along the handkerchief peaking from Jack's pocket.
Jack covered Tim's hands with his, feeling the biting metal of the prostethic, and pulled him into a hug.
"I saw a purple tree, went to see it- couldn't find- and there's a robot-" Tim bubbled, out of breath.
"Yeah, it's okay." Jack patted Tim's back feeling him shiver. "If not them, I would think something happened to you. Don't just leave without any note, okay?"
Tim looked at Jack's masked face with, what Jack could interpret as a surprise. Then Tim nodded and pressed his cold nose into Jack's cheek.
"Do you like it?" he asked.
"The mistletoe? Yes-" he didn't finish before Tim pulled a notebook from under his belt. He flicked it open to show off his fresh prey — a leaf collection. Most of them were dead form the last warm season, some are just sticks. The melted snow that wet the pages didn't seem to bother Timothy.
"How pretty…" Jack said, feeling the pain stirring up again.
"You're pretty." Tim flirted, stroking Jack's fuzzy sweater.
"Since we're so fancy, care to warm up and have breakfast now?" Jack pointed at the set table. In the daylight, it looked cleaner and more familiar. "I've found a suit for you too.
Timothy got a hanger with a light brown suit and a white collar on it.
"No offense, but can I choose something else?"
Jack put his arms on the hips not expecting such a response.
"I'm not that old as you, Jack." Tim mouthed to him.
Jack gasped:
"I am deeply offended." he half-joked. "Just put it back in the closet. Your room's mess still haunts me in the dreams".

A Florist's Guide to Creating Perfect Floral Accessories
When it comes to choosing the perfect floral accessories for a formal occasion, there's nothing quite like a corsage or buttonhole. Perth florists know just how to create these perfect floral accessories, whether you're looking for something simple or something a little more extravagant. Here's a guide to creating the perfect corsage and buttonhole in Perth.
Tumblr media
A corsage or buttonhole is a small bunch of flowers worn by a man or woman. They are often worn on the lapel of a jacket or dress. Buttonholes are made from a single flower or a small bunch of flowers.
The different types of corsages and buttonholes
There are many different types of corsages and buttonholes that can be used for a wedding. The most common type of corsage is a wrist corsage, which is a corsage that is worn on the wrist. Wrist corsages can be made out of flowers, ribbons, or a combination of both.
Another type of corsage is a pinned corsage. Pinned corsages are corsages that are pinned to the dress or shirt. Pinned corsages can be made out of flowers, ribbons, or a combination of both. The most common type of buttonhole is a lapel buttonhole, which is a buttonhole that is worn on the lapel of the dress or shirt. Lapel buttonholes can be made out of flowers, ribbons, or a combination of both.
When it comes to choosing the right flowers for corsages and buttonholes, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, think about the color of the flowers. You want to choose a color that will complement the outfit of the person wearing the corsage or buttonhole.
Second, think about the type of flowers. You want to choose flowers that will last for the duration of the event. And finally, think about the size of the flowers. You want to choose flowers that will be proportional to the size of the corsage or buttonhole.
How to make corsages and buttonholes?
Making corsages and buttonholes is a simple task that can be done in minutes with the right tools and supplies. To make a corsage, you will need a stem, a ribbon, and a few flowers. First, cut the stem to the desired length and remove the leaves. Then, cut a piece of ribbon and tie it around the stem.
Finally, add the flowers. To make a buttonhole, you will need a stem and a few flowers. First, cut the stem to the desired length and remove the leaves. Then, cut a piece of ribbon and tie it around the stem. Finally, add the flowers.
Tips for wearing corsages and buttonholes
When it comes to wearing corsages and buttonholes, there are a few things to keep in mind. Here are some tips to make sure you look your best:

As Ms. O’Donell handed everyone their marked tests, Eddie didn’t pay much attention when she laid the paper in front of him, pointing at the red circled D+. She muttered something about being pleasantly surprised, a back-handed snarky compliment that just made him mindlessly nod and mumble a soft ‘thanks’.
He was staring at Maia’s back, which resided on the right side of the class a few seats in front of him. She didn’t look at him the whole morning, giving every drop of concentration into completely ignoring his existence.
He was never the type to back down from an argument, it was like he was unable to say the word sorry. He had other ways, flattery, good deeds, occasional touches and accidentally brushing against her - as if he tried to transfer his feelings through the warmth of his fingers. But never sorry. And she didn’t give him a chance to do it any other way this time.
As soon as the bell ringed, she swiftly got up and walked out of the class, not sparing him a single second. When she spotted Mike, Lucas and Dustin in the crowd that was cluttering the hallway, she put on her best smile and walked up to them.
“How you doing, lads?” she mused and leaned on the lockers next to them. Lucas, who was taking some books out of his locker, cleared his throat after staring at her for a few seconds, a bit startled at her frankly miserable appearance.
The dark circles that permanently rimmed her eyes were a shade darker and her eyelids were still slightly puffy from all the crying she endured last night when she couldn’t sleep. He greeted her with a hesitant smile and Mike and Dustin chimed in as well.
“Hey! You look…a bit pale. Paler than usual, I mean. You okay?” Mike asked, looking Maia up and down with a worried expression. She frowned a bit, mindlessly running her hand through her hair.
“Of course! Just a bit tired…”
“Eddie was a pain in the ass yesterday, 22 was definitely enough.” Dustin chimed in, patting her shoulder. She flinched and raised her eyebrows.
“I don’t give a shit about what he thinks.” she hissed at him, but immediately tried to compose herself to seem emotionless.
“Instead, tell me how’s the preparations? Sinclair, are you coming?” she nudged Lucas with her elbow and he shrugged.
“Max isn’t…well, you know how she is…so the team convinced me to go alone with them, I’ll hang around for some time.” he mumbled, clearly still hurting from the breakup. Maia patted his back with an understanding smile.
“Do you have your tuxes ready?” she grinned widely and crossed her arms. Dustin nodded enthusiastically.
“I still have my suit from the Snow Ball, thank god I don’t grow.” he chuckled and Mike shrugged.
“I went from 5’4” to 5’11” within one year so I’ll wear the suit I had at my gran’s funeral this winter.”
A few seconds of awkward silence followed and Maia’s faced scrunched with mixed emotions, but Mike just sighed and smiled widely.
“We bought you a thing!” he nudged Dustin, who grinned and started rummaging through his backpack. He fished out a clear box with something colorful inside and handed it to Maia with a wide smile.
“We picked it so you’d match with us. It was in a set with our buttonholes.”
In the small box laid a corsage, a few purple hydrangea petals decorated with eucalyptus and fern leaves, the tiny bouquet attatched to a purple satin ribbon. It was enchanting. Maia’s eyes filled with tears and her bottom lip wobbled as she looked up at them, a single tear falling down her red cheek.
“I…I don’t know what to say…it’s so beautiful, guys. Thanks…” she whispered and pulled them both in a tight hug as Lucas smiled widely, proud of his friends. They seemed a bit taken aback by the strong reaction, but they blushed nonetheless and grinned as she wiped the tear with the back of her hand.
“I hope I won’t embarrass you lot, the only dress I own hasn’t been used since my Snow Ball…” she giggled and sighed, the boys just shook their heads.
“Impossible.” Dustin nudged her and just as she was about to ask Mike if Nancy’s going, she recognized a familiar mop of messy curls in the crowd. Her heart dropped and she cleared her throat, backing away from the group.
“Well, I have uh, homework I gotta do before lunch so…see you then. Bye! And thanks!” she called over her shoulder with a forced smile, waving the box in her hand and swiftly dissapeared behind the corner. The boys were startled by her sudden exit, then they noticed Eddie approaching them. They exchanged looks, sensing the correlation.
“‘Sup?” Eddie tilted his head and leaned against the lockers, comically mirroring Maia from a few minutes ago. Dustin cleared his throat.
“Hey! You just missed Maia, actually. She looked a bit sick.”
Eddie raised his eyebrows and coughed softly, mentally punching himself in the balls over and over again.
“Yeah…too bad. She’ll miss the prom then, right?” he mumbled, scratching his head.
“Sick as in…exhausted. Emotional. Do you know what’s wrong?” Mike whispered as if he was scared Maia will appear behind him and scold him for gossiping. Eddie gulped and chuckled uncomfortably, shrugging.
“No idea. Did she, uh…say something?”
Dustin scratched his head and looked his older friend up and down, kind of deducing where the problem comes from.
“No, she just looked down, her eyes were puffy…but she was really excited for prom, so I guess everything’s fine.”
That’s it, screw everything.
“Yeah, hopefully. Anyway, funny you say that…how does it even work? Like, for example, where do you even buy tickets for that…thing.” he mumbled, playing with a strand of his hair. The three boys exchanged wide smiles and Dustin started excitedly jumping up and down.
“So you’re coming?!” he exclaimed loudly, making Eddie frown.
“Woah woah, greenhorn…don’t cream your pants. I was just asking about the tickets.” he muttered and slapped Dustin’s cheek softly, but the boy still grinned from ear to ear. Lucas stiffled a giggle and cleared his throat.
“Sarah and Susan from your class are selling the tickets in front of the gym…you just approach them, say ‘one ticket to prom, please’, they’ll say ‘two dollars’ and you’ll give them two dol-“
“I know how sales work, shithead.” Eddie hissed at him with a scowl, shaking his head.
“And you gotta wear something…you know, not dirty and torn, though. And not smelly.” Dustin shrugged and earned a punch in the arm this time.
“Jesus Christ, are you this brash in front of your mother, too?” Eddie scoffed, pushed himself up, adjusted his jacket and sighed.
“Holy shit, Maia will explode with happiness when we tell her!” Mike chuckled, but Eddie swiftly turned around and took him by the collar, pinning him to the locker with a soft bang.
“If you tell her, I’ll claw your eyes out.” he hissed through gritted teeth, but when the visual of Mike’s sentence hit his brain and he imagined her cheerful crooked smile and sparkling eyes, his expression softened. He slowly let go of Mike, who’s terrified grimace mirrored Dustin and Lucas, and straightened his t-shirt with an apologetic smile.
“I want her to have a surprise, okay?” he softly explained, patting Mike’s chest. The boys slowly nodded, still a bit shaken by the sudden outburst.
“Scout’s honor.”
“You tell her that you’ll pick her up at 7, her place, but I’ll take the van and be at Henderson’s house at 6. Then I’ll drive you, ‘kay?” he explained and Dustin and Mike agreed enthusiastically.
“6 PM at Henderson’s, got it.” Mike muttered, his cheeks still red after Eddie’s manhandling.
“Uhhh…Patrick will be driving me there, so I’ll see you inside.” Lucas peeped, meeting Eddie’s judgemental gaze. He raised an eyebrow, but then the thought of buying the ticket took over his brain and he panicked, so he just shrugged and sighed at the boy’s loyalty to the jocks.
“You do you, man…see ya tommorow.” he waved quickly and hesitantly stepped away from the lockers to get going towards the gym.

Eddie stood at the corner of the hallway that led towards the gym for about 10 minutes, carefully scanning the people approaching the improvised ticket stand, with the two cheerleader girls sitting behind the table, handing out flyers and smiling widely at everyone. When the queue cleared out, he shakily exhaled and made his way towards the stand, chewing his bottom lip harshly.
Just as he reached it, the two girls were going through a magazine, one of them showing the other a picture of a prom dress she bought. Eddie’s face grew progressively more red and when they still didn’t seem to notice him, he cleared his throat.
Sarah, who’s pink lipstick stung Eddie’s eyes as soon as she looked up, scoffed and nudged Susan, who looked up as well, her grin growing wide at the sight in front of her.
Eddie’s wild curls stuck out in various places, his wide brown eyes screamed discomfort and his softly freckled cheeks were mapped with crimson red patches, lips puffy from chewing. What Maia found to be the most beautiful sight in existence, these girls seemed to be amused and repulsed by it at the same time.
“What’s up, freak?” she mumbled, looking his ragged figure up and down. She stopped at the sleeve of his leather jacket for a few seconds, raising an eyebrow at his lackluster attempt to fix the broken zipper with small chains.
“I wanna buy a ticket. Please.” he pushed the request out through gritted teeth, suddenly regretting his decision to go through this ordeal. Sarah snorted with laughter and turned at her similarly amused friend.
“You hear this Sue? The freak wants a ticket.”
“Are you for real, freak?” Susan giggled, flipping the magazine closed. Eddie rolled his eyes.
“Look, I don’t have time for this. I give you money, you give me a ticket and we’ll all be happy and liberated from the torture that is this converstation.” he hissed with a deep frown, pulled out the wallet from his back pocket, fished out a two-dollar bill and loudly slapped it on the table, following it with a low hum.
“We got a deal, ladies?” he whispered menacingly, squinting at the two girls, who’s smirks slowly changed into horror at his sudden aggravation.
Hellfire is probably satanic cult, after all.
They side-eyed eachother and Sarah slowly reached for the tickets under the desk, handed him one and when he snatched it out of her thin hand with perfectly kept nails, she jumped a bit.
“Glad to do business with you.” he gave them a wide sarcastic smile and backed away. When he was at a distance the girls deemed safe, Susan scoffed.
“Good luck finding a date, freak.” she chuckled and he stopped in his tracks, looking over his shoulder. She immediately shut up and widened her eyes as he threw her one last disarming scowl and then walked away, heading right for the cafeteria to ease his upset stomach with some disgusting Spaghetti-O’s.

“Nancy!” Maia spotted her friend on the way out of school, just as Nancy was about to clock in to the newspaper office. She was sporting her Emerson College t-shirt, looking elegant and regal as ever. She turned around and stopped, hugging Maia as she approached her.
“Hey, Mai! Mike told me that you’re going to prom with him! Thanks so much, he’s really misses Jane, so it’s good that he’ll loosen up a bit.” she smiled widely, stroking Maia’s arm.
“It’s me who should thank him, the boys are so sweet it makes my teeth hurt…they even bought me a corsage! I’ll walk you to the office, come.” Maia giggled and nudged her friend as they walked side by side. She cleared her throat.
“I hope you’re coming, too…I know Jonathan isn’t here but…still, we’ll have fun, I promise.” Maia nodded and brushed some hair out of Nancy’s face. She sighed deeply and and gave Maia an unconvincing smile.
“Yeah, I am going, the whole editorial will be there. We gotta write about it, it’s the biggest event we’ve had this year.” she mumbled and Maia shook her head.
“Tsk tsk, you’re a senior and it’s your prom, just lay off the work for one night, Nance. We’ll just eat and drink and chill, okay? I better not see you with that bloody notepad of yours!” she raised a threatening finger and Nancy rolled her eyes with a soft chuckle as they reached the editorial office.
“Okay, I promise I won’t take my notepad. I gotta run now, but I’ll see you there!” she hugged Maia tightly and gave her a small wave before dissapearing behind the door.
Meanwhile, Eddie was leaving school from the opposite side of the building. He jogged up to his van and headed home, nervously tapping on the steering wheel. Only when passing the cul-de-sac where the Wheelers lived he realized he didn’t have any flowers. He didn’t know where to buy a corsage, he hardly knew what it was.
So, when the purple azalea bushes rimming the path to one of the houses caught his eye, he promptly stopped the car in the middle of the street with a loud screech from the tires. He hopped out and looked around to see if anyone’s watching and stealthily approached the bush, pulled a swiss knife out of his denim vest and clumsily filed two branches off the bush as quickly as possible.
When it was finally done, he sprinted back into his van, threw the loot on the passenger seat and drove off, his heart pounding in his chest.
As soon as he arrived home, he snatched a big mug off the trailer wall, filled it with water and put the branches in, sitting the mug on his bed table next to a package of unused condoms and a full ashtray. He rummaged through the drawer and fished out a spool of wire that he brought home from Thatcher’s Tire after one shift when he needed to repair a broken pan. Eddie threw it next to the mug and stopped for a second, entranced by the sight.
The fresh purple petals stood out in the unkept interior of his room like some alien flora seeping into our world from the beyond, it reminded him of her. She, too, seemed like something…otherworldly off. Her beauty not fitting in any known enviroment, no place worthy of her presence. He shook the thoughts out of his head and left the room, joining his uncle on the porch.
“Hey, um…do we happen to have a suit around here?” he mumbled and his uncle turned at him with raised eyebrows, blinking off the shock.
“A suit?”
“Yeah, for prom.”
Uncle Wayne choked on the cigarette smoke so violently Eddie had to punch his back a few times, frowning when he finally caught his breath.
“You’re going to prom, son?” he asked with a chuckle, still coughing a bit. Eddie took a cigarette out of the pack that was laying on the porch and lit it, taking a big drag.
“Can’t believe it either…well?”
“I mean, I have a suit I wore to a funeral when my buddy from work passed last year, but I’m not sure it’ll fit you, son.” he shrugged and sent Eddie to look for a green box under his bed.
・○・●・○・●・○・●・○・● ●・○・●・
The whole school got a day off on Friday so everyone would have time to get ready for the big night, an unnaturally kind gesture from the living and breathing mouth sore that was principal Higgins. Mike and Dustin told Maia not to worry about anything other than her dress, that they’ll take care of everything else - so they had her ticket and promised to pick her up at 7.
She thought that maybe Steve will drive them, considering he’s something of an official chauffeur of the group, but she’d be alright even if she had to bike there.
She stopped by a fabric shop on her way home and bought a purple organza ribbon, the same colour as the one on her corsage. She only had a black dress at home, so she decided to spice it up a bit so she wouldn’t be completely ready for a funeral. When the designated pick-up time approached, she already slapped on her usual mascara-kajal combo and put on the dark red lipstick she kept from the Halloween party Eddie and her attended.
She shivered at the memory of his heavy-lidded gaze that pierced her as she wiped the smeared colour off his lips.
A loud toot of a car horn zapped her out of her thoughts and she sighed, a wave of dread washing over her when she remembered Eddie’s harsh words after the session. She quickly laced her shiny black brogues and walked out of her room, grabbing a small black feathery purse on the way.
“Your dates are here, lassie!” her dad mused with a wide smile, patting her cheek as she entered the living room. He delayed his shift at the plant so he could take a picture of her and the boys and see her off.
“You look beautiful…I’m sure ma thinks so too, somewhere up there...” he whispered and hugged her tightly.
“Cheers, da. Love you. Be nice to them, aye?” she mumbled into his chest and patted his back when they pulled away. He just grinned and followed her as she went to let the boys in. When she opened the door, she was met with two handsome gentlemen widely smiling at her.
Mike was wearing a simple black suit and bowtie and a dark purple shirt, his hair was a bit smoother than usual, he probably decided to brush it for tonight. Nonetheless, he stood tall and proud next to Dustin, who looked similarly dashing in a turquoise checkered suit, a ruffly white shirt and a black bowtie. His hair was eerily similar to Steve’s, only more curly and wild. They both had a small flowery decoration on their lapels, matching the hydrangea petals on Maia’s wrist. She gasped and giggled, pulling them both into a tight hug.
“My godness, hi! You’re so handsome!” she squealed and squeezed her eyes shut, wiggling the boys from side to side.
When she opened her eyes and looked in front of her, she felt a thousand needles pierce her heart all at once, making a painful warm liquid spill across her chest.
Eddie’s van was parked at the other side of the road and leaning against it was a tall, slender figure in a black suit and combat boots, crowned with a luscious mane of dark curls that seemed more defined and softer than ever before. His thin fingers clad with rings were clutching a cigarette, the tobacco swirling in the crisp February air. The loose black shirt under his jacket had the first two buttons undone, giving a peek at his tattooed chest and the guitar pick necklace that was resting on it. The fabric was neatly tugged into his pants, they were secured by the belt he usually wore with jeans and there was a small cluster of azalea petals pinned to his lapel with a safety pin.
The crown jewel of his presence, however, were - as ever - the never ending depths that were his eyes, the brown hue always oscillating between obsidian and gold, mirroring the duality of their owner. They were carefully scanning her with a worried expression and he raised his shaky palm in a single wave, the ash from his cigar falling on his cold knuckles.
“GET YER BAHOOKIES OFF MY GAIRDEN, YE WEE FANNIES!”
Her father’s booming scream hit her senses like a ton of bricks as she jumped so hard she stumbled back.
The boys’ faces turned a bit green, their eyes full of terror. She’d swear she could make out their heartbeat from the way their shirts were rapidly vibrating in a synced rhythm. She furiously frowned and snapped her head at her dad, who’s expression turned from a menacing scowl to a wide dimpled smile as his jolly laughter echoed through the street.
“Sorry lads, I couldn’t resist. Welcome to our humble palace. Come inside, come…” he giggled and walked up to the boys, patting their shoulders roughly and motioning to the inside of the house. They nervously chuckled, flinching when he touched them and looked at Maia in panic, but she nodded at them and mouthed ‘sorry’, letting her dad to lead them into the house.
“You too, Ed! Come, you can smoke in here as well.” he called over his shoulder before dissapearing into the house. Maia’s initial shock creeped back in as she turned her gaze to the van. She thought that maybe she just conjured up the image in her mind and he won’t be there when she looks back.
He was still on the same place, though. Arms crossed, a cigarette hanging from his lips, his stupidly dimpled cheeks flushed pink from the cold wind.
He took one last drag and threw the cigarette on the ground, stepped on it and then stood up, making his way across the road to the small house. He was walking slowly, carefully - as if he didn’t want to scare her off. She was just staring at him, mouth open, shaking her head. They stood in strange silence for a few seconds, neither of them keen on speaking first.
Eddie took a second to look at Maia properly, under the dim outdoor light her hair seemed to twinkle, like sparks flying out of a raging bonfire that was her hair. Her slim neck was decorated with a thin purple organza ribbon, neatly tied in a petite bow.
The black chiffon dress reached slightly below her knees, layers upon layers of the thin fabric making her into a delicate black flower. The flowing butterfly sleeves just barely covered the crescent moon tattoo on her forearm and fluttered around the wrapped waist that was tied in with a string. The warm artficial light barely illuminated her deep cleavage hidden between the black organza bodice. Her legs were shrouded in black fishnets and the brogues gave the whole dress a more androgynous feeling, just as she prefered.
She cleared her throat when his gaze stopped at her dark lips, as he recalled the very memory she had to shake out of her head earlier. The sound made Eddie look up at her and he scratched his neck, letting out a big shaky sigh.
“You’re beautiful.”
She felt the warmth in her chest violently crash in her cheeks as if her blood was the sea and he was her Moon, the tide’s rise and fall depending on his orders. The sea seemed to drown her vocal chords, too. So she stayed silent, waiting for his next words.
“Look, I’m…fuck. I’m sorry, okay? I wish I could take it back, I really do. Honestly, it’s kinda selfish of me to come here and expect your forgivness, so…I drove the kids here and, well…I dressed up just in case you’d want to…I don’t know…”
“Be shallow together?” she whispered and met his gaze, raising an eyebrow. He scrunched his nose and scratched his forehead, nodding.
“Yeah…or you can just tell me to go fuck myself and I’ll drive you guys to school and then leave. It’s up to you, I’ll understand, don’t worry…” he mumbled and picked on his nails as the freezing flush in his cheeks mixed with the warm embarrassement and created an irresistable hue of charm.
She smirked, biting her lips to stop herself from smiling at his bumbling behavior. She was still very, very much hurt, but that could wait.
“You even have a little flower here, fucking hell…you expect me to send Eddie Munson home after he put on a suit to be all handsome and charming while apologizing?” she scratched her head and reached out to inspect his lapel closer.
“Phew, who’s porch did you steal this from?”
When he spotted the lush ornamental corsage on her wrist, he gulped. Fuck, maybe that idea wasn’t so ingenious after all.
“Well uh, you know that flattery works with me, so… I actually brought you something, just in case you didn’t…cuss me out.” he meekly chuckled and reached into the inner pocket in his jacket.
She raised her eyebrows and as he handed her the thing in question, her heart swooned so deeply it dropped into her stomach the second she set eyes on it.
Multiple silver wires were unevenly twisted and interlocked with eachother, obviously by hand, and small azalea flowers and crisp leaves were woven into them - the stems were clipped long enough to wrap the wire around and entangle it with the main frame. The whole creation resembled a strange enchanted barbed-wire bracelet, but with soft purple petals instead of sharp points.
It was like this thing existed for her and her only, wrapping all of her essence into one bundle of wire and flowers. A soft sigh brought her back to reality.
“Uh, sorry…that’s the best I could do.”

BTS Reaction ||Stopping His Wedding [Part One] [BFF Series]
Seokjin:
As soon as your best friend/ love of your life, Jin told you he was getting married it felt as though your whole world was falling apart. You’d been in love with Jin since you were teenagers, he was there for you when no one else was and you’d had a crush on him since the moment you met. Now he was getting married and it was as if all the happiness had been sucked out of you, you knew you were supposed to be happy for him and you were, somewhere deep down inside, you were happy for him.
It was getting closer and closer to the wedding day and he’d asked you to be his best man, or Best woman rather, he said he couldn’t choose between the guys because he would feel bad but they all still had a part in his wedding, you agreed, knowing it would make him happy to have you stand up there with him, even if you did want to be the one standing in front of him and not behind him while he exchanged vows with someone that wasn’t you. As the week of his wedding came around he noticed you weren’t being like yourself, you were acting standoffish towards him and everyone else that was involved in the wedding, when he confronted you about it, you told him it was just stress and that you were sorry for being so horrible, but Jimin and Namjoon knew the real reason why you were so off, they’d always known about your crush on Jin, since the moment you realised, they did too.
(X)
“Y/N, You need to get it together,” Namjoon told you for the tenth time that morning, you’d been a mess since the day finally came. You were sat in the changing room toilets crying against the wall, Jimin was outside keeping an eye out for Jin in case he came wondering down and into the toilets.
“I’m over it. I’m fine.” You lied, coming out of the stall and looking at yourself in the mirror, you were dressed in a black sparkling dress to match the black suit Jin was wearing and you had a corsage that matched everyone’s buttonhole, you straightened the dress down and took in a deep breath.
“Jin’s coming.” Your eyes widened as you looked at Namjoon, he handed you a tissue and you wiped your face, trying to remove the stained mascara that had been running down your cheeks, the door opened and he walked inside.
“You ready?” You questioned turning to look at your best friend, his bow tie hanging down undone around his neck and his top button not done up, you scoffed shaking your head and going over to him.
“Go, guys, you’re needed upstairs,” Jin said to Namjoon and Jimin, they both turned to look at you as if questioning if you would be okay, you nodded and they left the bathroom, you began doing up his top button and then set to work on his bow tie.
“Thank you,” He said looking down at you, you avoided his eye contact keeping your gaze on the bow tie, your hands shaking a little from his stare.
“No problem, you were always useless at bow ties…even at prom.” You said with a laugh, he placed his hands on top of yours and you jumped a little, he continued to stare at you and you knew you were going to have to look up at him.
“I mean for being my best woman, for everything.” You hummed and moved your hands out of his and went over to the sink, you had to make it through the day without crying in front of him.
“I’ll see you out there.” You said with a cold tone, you didn’t mean for it to come out so standoffish to him but you couldn’t look at him, you could stare up into his eyes and not wish he was marrying you and not her.
“What is your problem?! Don’t bullshit me with the stress lie either.” You gripped onto the sides of the sink, not looking in the mirror at him, he continued to poke and poke until you finally exploded in front of him.
“Something just doesn’t feel right about it!” You finally yelled at him turning on the spot to stare at him in the eyes, were you about to admit your feelings for him? he stared at you in silence, you looked at the floor, feeling bad for yelling at him,
“Something just doesn’t feel right,” You whispered to him again, silence filled the bathroom, all that could be heard was the dripping tap in the corner of the room.
“You just don’t understand because you’ve never loved anything.” You felt your heartbreak, it was as if he’d just punched through your rib cage and ripped your heart out right before your eyes.
“Never loved anything?” You managed to stutter out, tears filling your eyes as you stared at him, your chest was rising and falling rapidly as you felt your broken heart race with every passing second.
“You’ve never been in love with someone before! You don’t know what it’s like to wake up every morning and have them be the only thing on your mind, you don’t know what it’s like to have them be the first and last thing you think of before you go to sleep at night, have them be running through your mind constantly…The racing heartbeat when they come near you or touch you.” You turned away from him, not wanting him to see you cry but he continued his speech of how “you’d never loved anyone.” You couldn’t take it anymore, it was as if he was pulling every last nerve ending out of your heart, your chest tightened as he continued to rant on and on about you as if he had any idea what you felt. You slammed your hands down against the porcelain sink and span around to face him.
“I’ve always loved you Jin! Always!” You screamed at him, finally feeling as if a weight was lifted from your chest.
“So don’t give me that shit about how I’ve never known what it was like to be in love! I’ve always known! I’ve known what it’s like to watch the one person you’re ever going to love, love someone else and not even glance in your direction!” Your tears were streaming now, he went to interrupt you but you shook your head, Namjoon was outside the door now and you could see him staring at you, silently pleading for you not to do this but you had to, you couldn’t let Jin think he could say that to you and get away with it.
“I know what it’s like to be in love with someone who will Never love you back, I know what it’s like to cry myself to sleep almost every night because the one person I want, I can never have. So Yes Jin! I know what it’s like to love someone, I know what it’s like to have them in your mind.” You ripped the corsage from your wrist and pushed it into his chest.
“I can’t be here while you marry her, I thought I could just push through today, I would see you happy and I could try and move past it all but I can’t.” He stared at you and shook his head, you went to walk out of the bathroom but he continued talking.
“And what am I supposed to do with this information now Y/N?! Huh?!” You stopped in front of the door, taking a deep breath and still facing the door, you couldn’t look at him.
“Marry her, she’s the love of your life Jin.” You opened the door and pushed past Namjoon who had been listening to the whole thing, you walked out of the church and over to your car, starting it up and driving away from him.

Yoongi:
Hoseok had come round to spend the day with you, your best friend Yoongi was off somewhere with his girlfriend so Hobi offered to spend the day together.
“He’s being so weird lately.” You said to Hoseok as you made popcorn for you both, he was melting some chocolate on the hob of the cooker, you always poured melted chocolate over your popcorn and Hoseok loved it, it was a movie day tradition, Hobi agreed with you about Yoongi being weird.
“It’s like he’s hiding something from us all.” He added, you nodded in agreement and poured the popcorn into a large bowl. Yoongi had been your best friend since you were kids and lately, he was avoiding you, your calls and your texts. You put it down to him being busy with album work but when Hoseok called you to tell you they were free all week you put it down to his girlfriend, you didn’t care that they were spending time together you were happy for him, even if he was the biggest crush you’d had.
“You’re going to have to tell him when he breaks up with her,” Hobi said as he poured the melted chocolate into the bowl, you stirred the popcorn around with a spoon and shook your head.
“If he breaks up with her you mean, they’re close Hobi…Closer than the others.” You mentioned thinking back to his previous girlfriends. They’d all been the same, they never lasted and Hobi had it wired into your brain it was because deep down inside of Yoongi he knew he liked you.
“They never stay, you know it’s true.” You laughed along with Hobi, it was and you wished Yoongi saw you the way you see him but you knew he didn’t. You knew he only liked you as a friend, nothing more and nothing less.
“Hobi we shouldn’t talk about our friend like that.” You said with a laugh, going over to the front door and getting the post, you flicked through the usual bill until you found a pure white envelope with lace around it. Your name and address were printed on the front in calligraphy, you came into the living room with it and showed it to Hoseok who frowned at the envelope.
“What is it?” You sat down next to him and opened it up, carefully because it looked too pretty to just rip open.
“You’re hereby invited to the wedding of Min Yoongi and…” Hoseok continued to read it off but you’d already drowned out his voice, staring at their names together and the small date across the bottom of the invite.
“Y/N…I’m, I’m so sorry.” You shook your head, taking a pen and circling the RSVP as ‘No,’.
“I love him Hobi…I can’t-” He pulled you into his arms, rubbing them as you tried not to cry, you couldn’t just watch Yoongi get married, it wasn’t that easy. But it was going to take one hell of an excuse for you to tell him why you weren’t going.
“Why didn’t he tell anyone?” You questioned, eyes welling up as you were rocked back and forth in Hobi’s arms, he patted the top of your head to try and comfort you but it wasn’t working.
“I don’t know, but I’m going to find out.” He said to you, you closed your eyes, trying to listen to his heartbeat, Hobi and Yoongi were the only ones that knew how to comfort you and having him here was helping.
(X)
“So you’re just not coming?!” You heard Yoongi yell from the ground floor of your apartment, why did you have to give him that spare key? You wanted to scream at yourself for giving it to him, you continued packing your suitcase in the bedroom and ignored him, hoping if he didn’t hear you he would just leave but he came up to the bedroom and opened the door.
“What’s my important that my wedding day?” You tried to remember what Hobi told you to tell him, but seeing him in front of you hurt you, seeing him so broken about you not coming to the wedding that would break you.
“I’ve had this planned for months Yoongi…If I’d have known beforehand about the wedding maybe I could have cancelled but I didn’t know.” You lied, throwing a dress into the bottom of your case and going to the en-suite, you were just trying to avoid his gaze, he knew when you were lying, you were the worst liar in the world. You were leaving today to get on a plane and not come back until the wedding was over,
“I wasn’t important enough to tell I guess.” You whispered to yourself in the bathroom, he told no one about his secret proposal to his girlfriend and told no one they’d been planning the wedding for a long time, it was all a huge surprise, Hobi managed to book you a plane ticket away for the week of his wedding and you had to lie and tell Yoongi it’d been planned for a while so he wouldn’t get suspicious.
“So you’re taking a holiday on your own?! It’s bullshit Y/N! You hate airports, whenever we go through them together I hold your hand because they make you nervous, so who’s going with you?” You bit down on your lip, looking at yourself in the mirror, he knew. He always knew everything.
“No one, I figured I should pull up my big girl pants and go for a break.” You lied coming out of the bathroom and pushing past him in the door and putting some bathroom products into the suitcase.
“You RSVP’s three days before my wedding, what’s going on with you?” You zipped up the suitcase and looked for the passport, seeing it on your nightstand and going to take it but Yoongi grabbed your hand, you felt a spark run through your body and you tried not to cry, you looked at him and he had tears in his eyes, you hated seeing him this way.
“Why won’t you watch me get married?” The words felt as though they stabbed right through your heart, you shook your head moving away from him, Hobi told you that no matter what you couldn’t tell him how you felt. It would only mess with his head.
“Do you not love me enough to see me happy?” You shut your eyes, wanting the floor to just swallow you.
“I love you too much Yoongi…That’s the problem, I love you too much to watch you marry someone that isn’t me…So I need space.” You grabbed your suitcase and walked out of the bedroom door, going down the staircase and out towards your car, Yoongi would lock the door when he left.

Hoseok:
Hoseok dragged you out to go suit shopping for him, he was getting married and you couldn’t be happier for him, well you could on the inside but on the outside you were showing that you were happy for him.
“What about the navy colour?” The woman in the shop asked as they ran through fabrics and colours for him, you were off in the dress section while they spoke about it. You looked over your shoulder at him, he was looking through a folder of different coloured fabrics, you felt your heart lurch at the thought of him getting married to someone who wasn’t you but you couldn’t tell him any of this. Your best friend, the one person you were supposed to talk to about anything and everything and you couldn’t even tell him the one thing that was bothering you the most, him. It was always him since you were in school together, the moment he said Hi to you in the classroom, the moment he smiled and lit up your whole world because he was like a ball of constant sunshine.
“Shit.” You mumbled walking into a rack of dresses almost knocking them over, he looked over at you and sent you a smile, you smiled back and looked at the woman who was staring at you, you frowned and walked over to another rack of dresses.
“You love him?” You scoffed, trying to act offended that she would ask you something so outright like that, you shook your head, looking at the dresses in front of you.
“No, he’s my best friend.” You lied, she shook her head, turning you around to face Hoseok who was now looking through another folder.
“You love him and you know it…so why let him marry someone else?” You moved away from her grasp and turned away from him,
“I wouldn’t ruin his life like that, he loves his fiancé.” She grumbled something at you and you ignored her, taking out one of the bridesmaid’s dresses and going to try it on.
(X)
“There you are!” Hoseok said coming round the corner to see you, you were dressed in a lilac mermaid gown, staring at yourself in the mirror, you looked up to see Hoseok and smiled at him.
“Was just trying it on, any idea what you’re wearing?” You questioned, trying not to seem nervous about standing in front of him in a dress like this, he’d not seen you in anything like this since Prom, you went together since everyone else already had dates, that night he acted like a boyfriend, you danced together, held hands and he even kissed you goodnight, but that was the last time he ever kissed you. You shook your head trying to ignore the thoughts of it all coming crashing back into you like waves on a beach.
“You look great in it, I’m wearing a black suit, black bow tie and a white shirt.” He helped you get down from the small stool you’d been standing on in front of the mirror and you smiled at him, the woman from before coming into view now, you wanted to scream out for her to leave you alone but she was carrying a tiara and fake bouquet of flowers.
“For a bridesmaid.” She slid the tiara onto your head and you took the bouquet of lilac roses and looked at you, she was smiling and nudging Hoseok’s arm.
“Doesn’t she look amazing.” You blushed, rolling your eyes and handing everything back to her,
“I need to get changed.” You said slipping off into the changing room and trying to get out of the gown you had on, Hoseok wandered off to the other side of the shop.
“Admitting feelings for someone is hard.” The woman said as she came into the changing room, she was untying the corset in the back while you looked at her in the mirror,
“It’s even harder when we don’t know if the other person will return those feelings, but if you don’t tell him you’ll never know.” You shook your head, holding the dress around your chest now it was loose around you.
“I won’t tell him…He doesn’t need to have my love for him weighing on his chest.” You whispered to her, she left the room and you changed back into your jeans and hoodie, coming out to find Hoseok so you could both leave but he was standing outside the door with the same woman,
“You knew he was there the whole time…” You whispered, Hoseok looked as though you’d stood on a puppy in front of him, you’d never seen him this sad before. Even when a girlfriend had broken up with him in school, he looked crushed by what he’d heard you say in the changing room.
“Hoseok please I can-” He shook his head and you shut up, the lady walked off and you wanted to scream at her, punch and pull her down onto the floor and kick-off for what she had made you do in front of him.
“Don’t say anything,” You said, breaking the silence, he looked at you and you grabbed your handbag from the floor.
“I’ll leave, I won’t come to the wedding and it’ll be like this never happened okay?” You were about to leave when he grabbed your wrist stopping you, you stared at his wrist and not at him.
“But it did happen Y/N, It happened and you kept it from me.” You shook your head, tears rolling down your cheeks, he was mad, he was starting to raise his voice at you which meant he was really mad, he never yelled at you, even when you annoyed him, he never yelled at you.
“No Hobi, it didn’t. I was never here, I never admitted those things to you so you can go on and live your happily ever after.” You said to him, removing his hand from your skin and trying to leave, but it was as if he was pulling you in with his gaze, his eyes never leaving you.
“Hobi the paparazzi are outside, I’ll go out first and then you leave whenever. Have a good wedding okay.” You whispered, moving away from him and going out of the front of the shop, ignoring questions from the paparazzi about your friendship with Hobi and how excited you were for him to be getting married.

Namjoon:
“Next up with have Y/N, giving her best woman speech,” Jin said into the microphone, you were having a practice run for your best friends wedding, you, Namjoon, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, Taehyung, Yoongi and Hoseok were all in the dorms giving your speeches to him, he wanted to hear them before the big day tomorrow and you all agreed you would do it. After hearing Yoongi’s and Jin’s speeches you were a little nervous but looking forward to it. You were happy for Namjoon, he deserved the big fairytale wedding he was getting, his fiancé was amazing and sweet, they deserved one another, but you couldn’t help but feel jealous about it. When Namjoon first asked you to be the eighth, best man/woman, at his wedding you said yes without a second thought about it. Of course, you would be at your best friends wedding, no matter your feelings for him you wouldn’t let him get married without you there. You’d had feelings for Namjoon since you met him through your best friend Jimin, you’d come down to the studio one day and met him while you were lost, he took your back to Jimin but on the way, you got to know each other more and more and since that day you’d become the closest of best friends, closer to him than you were to Jimin anyway. But Jimin knew why, you were in love with Namjoon, it took you four years to admit it to yourself and now he was getting married to someone else.
“You don’t have to do this you know,” Jimin whispered to you as you flicked through the pieces of paper you had ready to read from, you looked at him and then over at Namjoon who was sipping on a beer and laughing at something Jin had said to him, his dimples on full display, you looked away and back at Jimin.
“I do Jimin, I can’t, not speak, he’s asked me to.” He sighed and nodded over at the small “stage” they had made, it was just a couple of couch pillows for everyone to stand on and the “microphone” you were using was one of Jungkook’s hairbrushes, you took it from Jin and stood upon the “stage.”
“I’ve known Namjoon what feels like my whole life.” You started, turning to look at Jimin who was watching you nervously, you turned back to the front and glanced at the paper in your hand.
“But I’ve only known him four years and in those four years he’s proven to be one of the best guys ever,” You got a chuckle from Jin who was watching you along with everyone else in the room.
“The moment Namjoon and R/G/N met we all knew they were meant to be, even if Namjoon didn’t admit it to himself at first, he was madly in love with her. He would constantly check his phone to see if she’d called or text him, he’d lay up at night wondering when she was next going to call.” You put the paper away into your pocket and locked eyes with Namjoon, he was smiling at you, his dimples on full display, your weakness.
“The moment he chose to spend the rest of his life with her was one of the best decisions he’d ever made,” Jimin was on the edge of his seat now, more nervous than before because you’d put the piece of paper away and you were tearing up.
“Choosing who we want to marry and have a life with is one of the hardest choices we make as humans, it’s in our DNA to find someone and be with them for life, for some of you it’s easy, you find that person and the moment you meet that’s it, you know they’re the one for you, you’re the lucky ones, for others…Well for others it’s harder, we find the one we want to spend our lives with but it’s tougher than that because they’re not for us, or life has other plans, puts obstacles in our way, blocks that person from seeing us the way that we see them…The world makes it feel like they’re the one for us but its not…they’re not…” You stopped and looked at Jimin who was shaking his head at you, you knew you couldn’t keep going with the speech and you took in a sharp breath, tears rushing into your eyes you shook your head, finding it hard to find words, Namjoon was staring at you now and you locked eyes with him, the moment you did you felt the world stand still,
“I can’t- I can’t…” You rushed off the “stage,” shoving the “microphone” into Jimin’s chest and rushing into his bedroom, slamming and sliding down the door, bringing your knees into your chest and quietly crying into them. You heard Jimin crack a joke about how women weren’t fit for speeches before excusing himself to come and find you, you stayed in front of the door, not wanting him or anyone else to see you right now, you laid down in front of the door, pulling the Chimmy stuffed animal from nearby and cuddling him.
“Y/N…Let me in.” He said, banging on the door but you ignored him, he knew you were there, he could see your body blocking the light that was supposed to come through from underneath.
“He’s drunk, he won’t remember a word you said…and the guys all knew anyway.” You shook your head, that didn’t make the situation, any easier to deal with.
“I’ll call an uber and I’ll go home, I shouldn’t have come.” You said back to him, you took out your phone, ordering a cab and getting ready to leave.
(X)
“You’re going without a goodbye?” You turned around to see Namjoon standing in the dorms front door, you looked straight ahead, he was drunk Jimin was right, he was so drunk he couldn’t stand still, swaying side to side as if he was some kind of tree in a windstorm.
“Go inside Namjoon you’ll catch a cold.” You said coldly waiting for the cab to show up but it was taking its time, he came closer to you and wrapped his arms around your waist, burying his head into the inside of your neck, he always did this whenever he was drunk or sad, you closed your eyes tightly trying not to cry out for him to hold you like this forever.
“You’ll get sick.” You said pushing him away but he pulled you back into him, your heart was racing more than it should have been.
“I liked your speech, about finding someone but they have someone else. It’s like me with you, you always had Jimin you were in love with.” His words shocked you and the cab pulled up outside honking three times, you stood dumbfounded staring at the drunken Namjoon in front of you.
“What?” Your heart, felt like it had stopped beating for a couple of seconds, he groaned pulling you into him again.
“Stop trying to escape me, just let me have you for tonight, let me love you for one night, love me like you love Jimin.” You pulled away again, wiping the tears from your cheeks and shaking your head.
“I don’t love Jimin you dummy, the speech was about me loving you and you loving someone else.” You admitted, knowing he wouldn’t remember anything he was admitting to you right now, but you would. You would remember every detail.
“Goodnight Namjoon…Have a nice wedding.” You whispered, leaning up and kissing him on the lips, going to your cab and slamming the door behind you.

Jimin:
Park Jimin. Best friend since you were babies and the love of your life since you were teenagers and older enough to understand what love was. You’d never tell him that though, you’d rather keep your feelings to yourself, where you couldn’t get rejected by your best friend and you could keep him in your life, even if it was just to be friends. You were currently sitting in your living room with Jungkook watching romantic movies together, he’d come up with the genius idea of watching them help you get over your feelings for Jimin, but all you could picture was you and Jimin in the movie instead of the main characters.
“Kookie this was a dumb idea.” You groaned into his shoulder, Jimin had announced about a few months ago that he was getting married and you hadn’t been the same since. You started to distance yourself from him and began to hang around with Jungkook instead, Jungkook was the only one out of the boys who knew about your crush on Jimin, he’d picked up on it when you watched Jimin performing once, he asked you about it and you admitted it all to him.
“Hey! This was a great idea, I mean…” He stopped midsentence looking at you, tears down your cheeks as you watched yet another couple get their happy ending.
“Life isn’t like that, it’s dumb.” You said going over to the DVD player and turning it off, you selected a horror movie instead and went to sit back down next to Jungkook, he threw his arm around your shoulder and dragged you into his arm. You were at the dorms together alone, Namjoon was out with everyone else at the studio working on some songs and Jungkook took the day off to spend with you.
“Life has to be like the movies, where are they getting their inspiration from?” He questioned as the movie started, you shook your head.
“No! No, no no, see they make their stories up, it’s all fairytale bullshit.” You laughed turning up the volume on the horror movie to drown out the love talk, you didn’t want to talk. You wanted to watch a movie where there was no happy and no one got a happily ever after.
(X)
You were sitting in the car, waiting for Jimin to come and get in. The day had finally come around and you were riding with Jungkook and Jimin to go to the church.
“You know, if this was a movie it would be time for you to confess,” Jungkook said in the back of the car, you glared at him and shook your head.
“Life isn’t the movies Jungkook.” You reminded him for the 10th time that morning, he wanted you to confess, he wanted you to admit everything to Jimin while you still could, he was still young and naive thinking that you telling Jimin everything would just solve the problems but it wouldn’t, it would only cause more between you all, it would make it awkward, you had to let him go and get married, once he was happily married maybe it would be easier on you, easier for you to move on from him.
“Why are you so bothered about this Kookie, it’s not like me and Jimin being together would be good for you,” You joked ignoring his pleas for you to just admit it to his best friend, Jimin came out of the house in his suit and you looked at him, the way he walked, the way he smiled at you when he noticed you watching him.
“Look at the way you look at him as if he’s the only person in the world,” You punched Jungkook in the arm and he grunted at you, Jimin got into the car and started up the engine.
“Let’s go get me married.” He was too happy for you to even think about taking that moment away from him, you shook your head, forcing yourself to look away from him and keep happy thoughts in your mind.
“It’s never too late,” Jungkook whispered to you so only you could hear him, you ignored him, staring out of the window at the passing trees, you just wanted the day to hurry up and be over with.
“Jungkook if you don’t shut the fuck up I will rip your face off.” You whispered back to him, he sighed wrapping his arm around your shoulders and pulling you closer to him.
“You’re meant to be.” You closed your eyes, tears were threatening to spill from them,
“Please Kookie.” You pleaded, he looked at you, not realising how much talking about it was really starting to hurt you, he pulled you into his chest tighter, you let out a quiet sob and he sighed.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t think it was hurting you this much.” You sighed and he kissed the top of your head, even though you were older than him he still treated you as though you were his younger sister and not a close friend.
“Is she okay?” Jimin questioned as you stopped in the parking lot, you prayed Jungkook would keep his mouth shut for once,
“Yeah, she’s just tired, didn’t sleep much last night.” Jungkook lied for you, you thanked him by squeezing his arm that was around you, he squeezed back and you opened your eyes to look at Jimin, he was staring right at you in the mirror, you gave him the best fake smile you could manage and then got out of the car, going towards the church but his hand on your wrist stopped you in your tracks.
“You’re going to be late.” You said as Jungkook got out of the car as well, he looked at you and stayed by your side.
“Jungkook, go inside tell them I’ll be in, in a minute.” Jungkook looked at you but went inside anyway, you stared at Jimin, he knew something about you and you could tell.
“When were you going to tell me?” You frowned at him, trying to play dumb but it wasn’t working, Jimin knew when you lied.
“I heard you and Jungkook in the car, when were you going to tell me you liked me?” Your breath hitched in your throat.
“I wasn’t going to.” You tried to say but he ignored you,
“Were you going to wait until I was about to say I do?! Huh?!” He scared you when he was mad, you shook your head and he threw his car keys to you, you caught them.
“You were going to wait until the priest asked?!” You were shaking, he was red in the face and stepping closer to you.
“Go to the dorms and pack up your shit.” You nodded, sprinting past him and getting into his car, starting it up and driving out of the parking lot.

Taehyung:
Your best friend Taehyung’s wedding was in two nights, which meant tonight was the night for partying. It was his bachelor party, which meant drinks, drinks and more drinks in a closed-off club for only you, the boys and a few other friends to come to, his fiancé was off somewhere for her night, you weren’t her friend though so you were invited out with the boys instead, you and Taehyung had been best friends since your teen years, meeting in school and developing a friendship over your love for art, your crush grew on him when he asked you to the prom, both of you dateless and needing someone to go with, as soon as you saw him in his suit you knew he was the one for you, it was just a shame he didn’t see you the same way, he saw you as a little sister, or that’s what he told you, so you tried your best to ignore the feelings you had for him.
“Are you ready to party?!” Jimin yelled coming into your bedroom, you were struggling to find the right outfit for the night and he agreed to come over and help you.
“I am.” You said back showing him the outfit options you had, both jeans with a nice shirt but he threw them aside, raiding through your closet and coming back out a few moments later holding a tight fitted black body con you’d been saving for a day you would have a date.
“No way.” You laughed looking at him, he pushed it into your arms and went to look for matching shoes for you to wear, he came back out holding a pair of strap heels and threw them into your hands, you stared at him and then at the dress.
“Jimin, this is like a top…I was saving it.” You whispered but he was shaking his head, pushing you into the wardrobe to go and get changed into it. The dress was a little on the shorter side and backless which meant you had to go without a bra.
“Jimin please.” You pleaded, wanting him to let you wear anything else except this, you’d gladly go in a bin bag, or jeans. What was so wrong with jeans.
“We’re going to have fun tonight and you’re going to look irresistible.” You came out a few minutes later in the dress and he smiled at you, you looked amazing in his eyes, which meant it was now time to go get into the cab that was waiting for you both, time to party the night away.
(X)
Tae had been watching you all night, you hadn’t noticed because you were busy having drinking games with Jimin and Yoongi, Yoongi came to dance with you the second you walked into the club they had rented out for the night, you were having fun. You felt like you could let go for once, but the dress you were wearing had everyone’s eyes on you. It was around 4 am and you were pretty wasted, Jimin was off with someone else so you and Yoongi were alone in a booth together, you were practically sitting on his lap just so you could make and hear the conversation you were having, Taehyung’s eyes hadn’t left the scene since it happened, he noticed when you slipped your hand onto Yoongi’s arm when he made you laugh, or the way you threw your head back when you laughed too hard, he could feel his blood begin to boil when he saw Yoongi whispering something into your ear.
“Yoongi no!” You giggled slapping his arm playfully and pulling away to take a sip of your drink, Tae was making his way over and you smiled at him, waving him over.
“Come join us, we were just about to get another round of shots.” You giggled, but it was cut short. Taehyung gripped your wrists and yanked you out of the booth and out of the club, you were hit by the early morning breeze and shivered.
“Shit Tae, what are you doing?” You groaned wrapping your arms around yourself, he pulled you down an alley and shoved you against the brick wall.
“I should ask you the same thing, flirting with Yoongi?” You stared at Tae in silence, were you flirting with Yoongi? You thought you were just being friendly with him.
“Tae we were just being friendly.” You tried to justify but he was having none of it, he shook his head at you.
“A little too friendly if you ask me.” You were about to try and justify your actions again when you realised it shouldn’t matter to him what you do and do not do, or who you flirt with.
“Why do you care Tae? You’re getting married remember, why should you care if I’m flirting with Yoongi?” You slurred a little at the end and leant your head back against the brick wall, the sky was starting to spin above you.
“Because maybe I-” He stopped himself and then went to the opposite wall to you, you looked at him and he was swaying a little.
“Maybe I- I just don’t like the way he was-” He couldn’t finish anything he was trying to say and you scoffed kicking yourself away from the wall and going over to him, you wanted to go back inside the club, you were freezing out here in the dress Jimin had picked.
“Well, I’m going back inside to flirt or not flirt with Yoongi.” You turned on your heel but his sudden grasp on your wrist stopped you from moving away from him, you looked at his hand and then up to his face, he had tears in his eyes and you couldn’t tell if it was because of the cold or if he was crying over something.
“Tae?” You whispered, confused, his grasp stayed on your wrist and he shook it a little as if silently pleading for you,  your eyes met and he whispered out,
“Don’t leave me.”
Tumblr media
Jungkook:
“You should see our suits Y/N!” Jimin said as he came bounding into the dorms living you, you looked up at him wanting him to continue but Namjoon was shaking his head violently at him.
“Joonie, you can talk about the wedding, just because I’m not invited doesn’t mean I’m not excited.” Your best friend, Jungkook, was getting married to his long time girlfriend in less than 24 hours, and everything had been kept on the hush from you, it’s not that Jungkook didn’t want you there, he did, he wanted you to sit with his mum and hold her hand while he married his girlfriend, it was his girlfriend that didn’t want you there. You knew why she hated you. She’d hated you since the moment she came into Jungkook’s life and saw how close you were with one another. You were so close with Jungkook because you were Namjoon’s little sister, you were the same age as Jungkook so when they first formed you bonded over your age, becomes friends quickly, your crush on him developed hard from the moment you met but Namjoon would never let any of his friends date you so you tried to ignore the feelings, only they grew stronger and stronger whenever you were with him until it developed into a love for him, but you pushed them away, wanting to stay close with him forever as a friend.
“I can’t believe you’re not going.” Jimin pouted, he leant his head on your shoulder and you looked at Namjoon sadly, when Namjoon found out you weren’t allowed to go he almost kicked off at Jungkook but you begged for him not to, it wasn’t Kookie’s fault you weren’t invited, it was his girlfriend. The moment she came close to him he was a different person, she switched something inside of him, and the moment she got her claws into him he changed, you weren’t allowed to go to the dorms unless your brother was there, you weren’t allowed to be alone with Jungkook and you weren’t allowed to the wedding…Not that you would want to go anyway, you knew something bad about her, something that she knew would destroy the wedding altogether if Jungkook ever found out and she blackmailed you to staying away.
“He’s being a dumb boy, he wants you there, you know that and he knows that but she’s just-” You stopped Jimin from talking, he was going to say something he might regret. You would have told Jungkook ages ago what she was doing but the blackmail she had over you was too much, it was enough to destroy your friendship with Jungkook and your relationship with Namjoon, she knew about your crush, she had the diaries from when you first met, you’d kept them locked away in the attic of the dorms thinking none of the boys would go up there and you were right, they didn’t. She did. As soon as she found out she was using everything inside them against you.
(X)
You were in the car driving Namjoon and Jimin to the wedding, you were the driver for them since they wanted to have a few drinks later, they were running late as it was, Jimin had taken his time getting ready and Namjoon lost his glasses, so now the ceremony was about to start and they weren’t there.
“Jimin just keep your mouth shut, we have no reason to object,” Namjoon said as they opened the door to the car, you frowned at their conversation.
“What’s wrong?” Jimin stared at you and ignored the looks from your brother,
“I think she’s cheating on him…I want to stop the wedding but Namjoon is sure it’s because of my hate for her that’s clouding my judgement.” Your hands gripped the stirring wheel of the car, your knuckles turning a white colour, Namjoon eyed you up and then looked at Jimin, your face was starting to turn red, if Jimin saw her cheating than it wouldn’t be just you going up against her, and she couldn’t use the blackmail against Jimin to stay silent.
“Y/N?” Namjoon questioned, you looked back at Jimin and bit down on your lip.
“She is, she’s cheating. She made me stay quiet because she has so much blackmail on me, but Jimin if you saw her and you have proof that she’s cheating…You can stop the wedding.” Namjoon’s eyes were wide as the thought of someone threatening his sister came into his mind, Jimin was shocked in the back of the car, and you looked at Namjoon.
“Joonie, listen okay you’re not going to like it but she has diaries of me when I was 17 when we first met Kookie, I loved…Love him, she was going to use it against me if I tried to stop or warn him.” Namjoon turned to face the front of the car,
“Start up the car, we’re going to the wedding.”
“But Namjoon didn’t you just hear what Y/N Said?”
“START THE CAR!” You jumped a little, starting up the engine and driving in the direction of the church.
“You have to go and the right time, we can’t just burst in there, if she sees Y/N, she’ll know we’re onto her” Namjoon whispered as you walked through the church, you were at the back of it all, hiding in the stairwell, Hoseok had opened the back door for you to sneak in, they were halfway through the ceremony by now.
“What’s the plan here?” Jimin whispered to you, you frowned shaking your head and looking at your older brother who was watching Jungkook at the front of the church.
“If anyone knows any reason these two should not be joined in matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace…” The Church fell into silence and that’s when Namjoon grabbed you and Jimin by the back of the shirts and lifted you up into full view.
“We object.” He yelled, pushing you down the aisle, everyone was turning to look at you and Jungkook’s eyes were on you right away, he looked pissed off at the fact that you were here. Jimin took your hand and gave it a squeeze of reassurance

Floristry
Floristry concerns the cultivation of flowers as well as their arrangement, sale. Much of the raw material supplied for the floristry trade comes from the cut flowers industry. West Vancouver Florist , along with online stores, are the main flower-only outlets, but supermarkets, garden supply stores, and filling stations also sell flowers.
Floral design or floral arts is the art of creating flower arrangements in vases, bowls, baskets, or other containers, or making bouquets and compositions from cut flowers, foliages, herbs, ornamental grasses, and other plant materials. Often the terms "floral design" and "floristry" are considered synonymous. Florists are people who work with flowers and plants, generally at the retail level. Floristry differs from floristics, the study of distribution and relationships of plant species over geographic areas. Floristry also differs from horticulture, which more broadly relates to the cultivation of flowers and plants so they will remain fresh as long as possible, and would be desirable for purchase, which also involves knowledge of customers' requirements and expectations. The ability to create a variety of floral designs such as wreaths, bouquets, corsages, boutonnières/'buttonholes', permanent arrangements, and other more complicated arrangements are also important.
Tumblr media
Education, both formal and informal, is another significant segment of the floristry industry. Established floristry designers and artists impart their craft to students interested in floral design as hobby or career. Courses are generally available through community colleges, private post-secondary vocational schools, and professional florist trade associations.
In the Netherlands, the first horticultural college was founded in 1896 in Naaldwijk; the second horticultural college was founded in 1897 in Aalsmeer. In 1926, the first national professional qualification examinations in floristry were held in the Netherlands. The horticultural college in Aalsmeer celebrated its 75th anniversary in 1972 and in 1997 its 100th anniversary. Since 1926 is the horticultural college in Aalsmeer was called the Rijks Middelbare Tuinbouw School (RTMS). The first professional floristry education started at the RMTS in 1968. The first professor in floristry at the horticultural college in Aalsmeer was Mr. Theo Boerma. In 1972 Theo Boerma started teaching professional evening courses for the floristry diploma: vakdiploma Bloemist-Winkelier. In 1980 Theo Boerma and his wife José Boerma founded the first privately owned floristry school; Boerma Instituut International Floral Design School in Aalsmeer. The floristry diploma was recognized by the Dutch government until 1996. When the borders of Europe opened, the diploma was no longer needed but professional training for Dutch and international students is still organised by the Boerma Instituut.
The floristry business has a significant market in the corporate and social event world, as flowers play a large part in the decor of special events and meetings. Centerpieces, entryways, reception tables, bridal bouquets, wedding chuppahs, and stage sets are only a few examples of how flowers are used in the business and social event settings. Flowers are also traditionally used in ecclesiastical settings and their arrangement is often done by skilled church volunteers.

Bride's Wedding Flowers
A lot of the planning of the blossoms is done the day before and the morning of wedding when the pair and their own individuals at their most popular and most pressured. Therefore unless the plant shows are quite easy it is wise to have them expertly ready by a relationship florist.
Tumblr media
When deciding on a florist seek personal suggestions from friends and recently married associates. If you are unable to determine, it is best to see several and look at their shows. Most flower shops will allow you check out them at a period when they have ready www.flowerdeliveryuk.org.uk/flower-cards/ blossoms for other marriages so that you can see the quality of their perform. You should also try to select a florist who actually does wedding blossoms for a living, not just run a florist shop. Remember it is is your special day, so find a florist who shows interest, love and dedication for what they do as this way you know you are more likely to be getting the best.
Make sure your florist can perform within your financial cost range. Choose how much you can afford, then ask your florist for suggestions within this amount. The price of wedding blossoms relies on type and accessibility and the dimensions of the flowers and designs. If you are cheaply, use blossoms that will be in season right at that moment of the wedding. Or keep things simple: a hand-tied posy of flowers looks amazing and is less expensive than an intricate aroma.
There are several traditional forms of aroma and excellent flower shops should have a selection of pictures to show them. The florist should also be able to recommend on which blossoms coordinate the chosen shape taking into consideration the plan and periodic accessibility.
The choice of the wedding aroma relies upon of the style of your dress. Arrangements can range from the just-picked-from-the-garden look, to the tailored-stylised official look. You should always get a sense of balance between your dress and your aroma. A fresh-picked aroma from your lawn may look out of place with a very official dress. The aroma dimension should be percentage to the new bride. Too huge a aroma would simply engulf the new bride and mess her elegant dress.
Buttonholes will coordinate the bride's aroma and combination with the dark lapels of the groom's wedding outfit. Usually bridegroom, best man, brings and dads of the pair should use buttonholes although other essential visitors such as the grandma and grandpa may also put them on.
Corsages are normally larger than a buttonhole and can be made of the same or similar blossoms as those in the bride's aroma. The moms of the pair will use corsages and so may the grandmas and other essential visitors. Corsages can also be pinned to the lapel as with a buttonhole otherwise used on the hand or connected to a handbag or bag.
Some wedding reception locations such as resorts and dining places often include wedding plant preparations as part of their overall wedding service. Others may create another charge. A lot of locations will allow the pair to give their own wedding blossoms and plant designs. The location management should be discussed to set up a convenient a chance to set up the shows which will not difficulty the providing preparations.
The wedding plant designs usually involve a big display just inside the entry which is seen by visitors as they enter the wedding reception room, and preparations on each of the platforms for visitors. The top table filled by the couples usually has a more decorative wedding bouquet. Large places and marquees usually offer simply background scenes and therefore wedding plant preparations should be amazing and huge to catch the eye. Designing with flowers is a wise idea as they can consequently be used in the couples new home.

Wedding Flowers Checklist: What Flowers Do You Need For Your Wedding?
Tumblr media
You do not need flowers for every single thing on this checklist, unless you're going for the whole shebang and flowers are a major deal for you. I hope this checklist helps you think through all the things, so at least you won't have to worry about whether you've forgotten about something.
For the most popular, typical items that the average bride has, I've bolded them so you know which ones they are - enjoy
Wedding Flowers Checklist
THE BRIDAL PARTY
Bridal bouquet, or something less traditional, like a wreath or garland)
Bridesmaid bouquets, or something less traditional
Boutonnières (aka buttonholes) - these are the little arrangements that get pinned on the groom, groomsmen, fathers and mothers of the bride and groom etc
Throw away posy - some brides prefer to keep their original bouquet so they can dry it afterwards as a keepsake. So a throw posy is a mini version of your bouquet that you can throw
Wrist corsages - typically for the mothers, flower girls and sometimes the bridesmaids
Flower crowns - can be a feature of the bride, bridesmaids or flower girls
Flower girl baskets - typically filled with fresh petals and thrown by flower girls as they walk down the aisle during the ceremony
CEREMONY DECOR
Pew ends - arrangements tied around the back of chairs or the inner edges of seats along the aisle in a church
Altar arrangements - typically at the front if it's a church wedding
Floral decor for an archway - if you're using a beautiful archway as a backdrop to where you'll be standing, you might want it decorated with some florals to give it some style and tie it into your wedding theme
Floral arrangements to line an aisle - instead of pew ends, you might want some arrangements scattered on the ground to line the aisle area
Floral arrangement for the signing table - there's usually a small table to one side of where you'll be standing. At some point during the ceremony, a few of you will need to sit down at the table to sign the marriage certificate. You might want a touch of florals to pretty up that signing scene for photos
Fresh petals for guests to throw - some venues allow flowers to be thrown, whilst some don't. Double check with your venue about their rules here and if you're allowed, you may want to have some baskets for your guests to pass around so they can shower you with flowers as you walk down the aisle on your way out!
RECEPTION DECOR
Bridal table decor - this could be floral arrangements scattered along the length of your table mixed in with candles, or a floral garland that runs along the outside edge. Your table is the main feature since that's where you'll be sitting, so think about how much decoration you'd like to have on it and from the point of view of where guests will be sitting looking at your table, and for photography
Guest table decor - usually guest tables feature some sort of decorative centrepiece, usually with flowers and candles. Think about the height, usually something relatively low so people can see and talk to each other easily, or very tall if you're going for something more dramatic. It also depends on the table set up and how much space there will be on the tables
Entrance/welcome table decor - a medium-large arrangement at the entrance typically provides lovely gesture for guests when they arrive
Dessert table decor - a small arrangement or two is usually placed on the dessert table if you're having one, so it ties in with your theme
Gift table decor - if you're having a separate gift table, you might want to consider adding something extra here to make it look welcoming
Cake florals - did you want fresh flowers to decorate your wedding cake? Typically they are taken off after you've cut the cake, and simply used for decorative purposes. If so, make sure you have your cake provider and florist talk to each other!
Cocktail / bar table decor - usually something small as a centrepiece with a tea light or two
Lounge area decor - some venues have a seated "lounge" type area that might have a few tables that need some decor
Bathroom florals - you might want to have something small to add a touch of something, particularly if the bathrooms aren't top notch

Is There a Fairy Godmother in the House?
Fandom: Fairy Tail
Main Characters: Lucy, Natsu
Others that get a speaking part: Levy, Erza, Wendy, Happy, Gray, MiraJane, Cana, Evergreen, and my OC’s Auntie Olga and Peter.
Rating: General
Word Count: 12,551 total
Summary: Natsu admits he’d like to go to the guild’s formal Christmas dance a mere two days beforehand. Lucy asks him to go with her, but now how is she supposed to be ready in time- Anyone have a spare fairy godmother they can loan her?
Chapter 1- The Invitation
Lucy fiddled with the pendant of the necklace she was wearing while she waited for Levy to finish applying eyeshadow to her lids. This was the first time she’d been actually excited to be going to a formal dance ever since her cotillion at fifteen. When she’d lived at home these kinds of dances had been opportunities for her father to set her up with possible suitors from other powerful business families, but this time she was going to go with one of her best friends.
She was so glad that she had asked Natsu to go with her when they were walking back to her apartment after having breakfast at the guild. They had been talking about a little bit of everything and eventually they got to the subject of the upcoming ball.
“Aren’t you going to the dance Natsu?” Lucy asked in surprise. “You said you were really looking forward to it.”
“Yeah, well it’s turned into more of a couples thing,” Natsu said with a scowl. “I was just going to go with Gray and Elfman and they’re not available any more.”
Lucy nodded. She knew that Gray had asked Kinana to go with him the day Master Makarov had made the announcement that there would be a formal ball and not just the regular rowdy Christmas party at Fairy Tail this year. She snorted. Poor Elfman had been threatened with being turned into stone if he didn’t ask Evergreen! He finally declared that only a Real Man would ask her to the dance and then proceeded to faint when she accepted.
“You could just take Happy with you,” she suggested.
Natsu shook his head. “There’s some kind of exceed celebration going on and he’s going to be there with Carla and Lily.”
“Well, why don’t you just ask someone to go with you?” Lucy asked, reasonably. “You don’t have to be actually dating someone to go to a dance with them, you know.”
Natsu turned a blushing pink around his ears. “Well it’s only two days away. No one is going to want to have such a short time to get ready for a fancy dance.”
Lucy shrugged. “I guess it depends on who you ask.”
“What about you, Luce,” Natsu said. When she looked questioningly at him he added, “Didn’t you want to go to the ball?”
Lucy thought about it before answering. “I don’t know, I used to go to those kinds of things all the time.” She shuddered, “My father would try to set me up with these horrible guys, usually the rich heirs of his business partners, but sometimes the old rich guys themselves, and they were either really vain and full of themselves and their wealth or…” she broke off as her lips formed a tight line, “handsy.”
Natsu’s hands balled into fists and Lucy could see the flames starting to flicker around them.
“Natsu calm down!” Lucy ordered as she grabbed his arm and started to wave his hand in the air. “Don’t you think I could take care of myself?”
Natsu’s sly grin lit up his face. “I’m sure you could Luce, but I’d still like to explain to those guys about proper behavior when in the presence of a human being.”
Lucy laughed, “Natsu, stop being silly.” Natsu’s flames immediately went out. Lucy nudged his arm with her elbow. “Besides, that’s all in the past.”
They continued to walk along in silence. Lucy was lost in thought as she remembered those parties that seemed to be a lifetime ago. Natsu was waving to the people on the barges floating down the canal.
“You know, Natsu,” Lucy said as she was walking along the wall of the canal. “If you really wanted to go to the dance, you could have just asked me. It's not like we aren't friends.”
Natsu looked at her completely dumbstruck. “You’d, want to go?” He didn’t seem to be grasping what he’d heard. “With me?”
Lucy hadn’t even looked back at him, she was concentrating on where she put her feet on the icy wall. “Yeah, why not?” she asked. “You know that we’re friends. If you really want to go to the party, I could go with you.” She stopped to look at him, smiling. “Natsu Dragneel would you like to go to the Fairy Tail Christmas Ball with me this Friday night?”
Natsu looked down at his feet with a frown and seemed to be thinking over the proposition thoroughly. When he didn’t answer, Lucy shrugged and started walking along the wall again. He looked up as he took a breath to speak and suddenly realized that Lucy wasn’t in front of him. He looked left and right before spotting her at the front door of her apartment building. He ran to catch up with her.
“Hey, Luce, did you mean it?”
“Did I mean what?”
“Did you mean to ask me to go to the dance with you?”
“Sure, Natsu,” she said as she unlocked her door. “I think it’d be fun to go with you.”
“Well then, yes,” he said, “I’d like to go to the Christmas dance with you.”
“Okay, well then what do we need to do to be ready?” she said as they walked through the door. She went to her desk for paper and a pen. “I’ll need a dress, I don’t have anything that’s formal, but I guess my blue dress could do in a pinch. And maybe new shoes if I don’t have something that matches,” she said as she started to write. “Do you have a suit?” she asked him.
“What?” He chuckled. “Lucy have you ever seen me in a suit?”
“So, no on the suit,” she looked him up and down. “Well maybe Gray could lend you some slacks and a button down shirt,” she started making a separate list for Natsu. “Would a tie be too much to ask for?”
Natsu’s look of horror made her laugh. “I didn't know what I was thinking. No tie.” She looked back at her list. “You’ll need black dress shoes and some dark socks. I ought to get a mani-pedi, but Levy and I already had those planned for this afternoon.” She wrote it on the list anyway. “Do you think Erza would be up for a shopping trip?”
Natsu nodded his head.
A thought suddenly struck her. “Do you want me to get you a flower for your buttonhole?”
The first real laugh she’d heard that morning escaped Natsu’s throat. “Why would you get me flowers?”
“Aren’t you planning on getting me a corsage?”
“A cor-what?”
“A corsage,” she said pointing to her wrist. “It’s a small bouquet of flowers that’s meant to be worn on my wrist,” she explained. “I don’t like the kind that get pinned on.” She looked thoughtfully at Natsu’s blank expression. “Never mind, I have some nice bracelets that will do.” She looked over her lists again. “I think that’s everything.” She handed Natsu his list. “Will you be able to play nice with Gray long enough to ask about borrowing the clothes?”
Natsu scowled but nodded his head.
Lucy laughed, “Thank you. I know we were planning on spending the morning getting ready for our next job, but I need to get ahold of Erza. If I can find a dress I like, it might need some alterations, and while I know those seamstresses are able to work miracles it’s best to give them some time to work it in.”
“Okay Luce,” Natsu said as he pocketed his list. “I’ll get right on this.”
Lucy patted his shoulder and smiled. “I know I can count on you.”
Later that morning Lucy was shopping with Erza, Levy, and Wendy.
“I’m glad you asked me to come with you,” Erza said to Lucy as they entered their second dress shop.
“I’m glad you wanted to come since you’ve already got a dress,” Lucy replied.
“Oh, I’ve got to find a new one,” Erza said offhandedly as she grabbed several dresses and headed to the dressing room.
“But, why?” Lucy asked. “That evening gown you got last week was beautiful!”
“It’s my fault,” Levy said with a sigh. “I found this really cool dress that looked like metal plates riveted together. The woman at the shop called it steampunk. And then I found these gray, high heeled boots with little gear buttons as decorations on them that looked like iron. And I thought that they would be perfect because they match Gajeel’s magic so well.” She blushed before she continued, “When I showed them to Gajeel he went out and bought a suit that has each part decorated with words!” She smiled remembering the sight. “The jacket has a pinstripe with the word “jacket” in the tiniest stitching I’ve ever seen. And they’re matched with pants that have the word “trousers” on them. His tie even has the word “tie” woven into the fabric.” There was a fond look in her eyes. “And of course Laxus wouldn’t be out done by Gajeel so he declared that he’d be wearing a red and silver hakama in honor of Erza’s strongest armor. Which meant Freed and Bickslow suddenly were coming up with suits to match Mira and Lisanna and then those two were finding clothes to match the guys’ magic.”
“Oh, I don’t envy Lisanna trying to match Bickslow’s talent,” Lucy said as she looked through a rack of skirts.
Wendy laughed. “She decided to just go with a babydoll dress and let that be good enough.”
“She’ll look adorable in that,” Lucy said while Levy nodded in agreement.
“Freed and Mira are just doing matching pantsuits with opposite colors since their magics are so similar,” Wendy reported. “And Evergreen is wearing a dress with several different animal prints while Elfman went out and bought a slate gray suit.”
“That sounds so cute,” Lucy said. Then her face fell. “I don’t think I’ll be able to find anything that matches Natsu’s fire.”
“Don’t get discouraged Luce,” Levy said. “We’ll find the perfect gown for you.”
“What do you think of this one?” Erza asked as she came out wearing a stunning electric blue dress with gold embellishments. It was strapless and form hugging. The length of the skirt could generously be called mini and the gold chains that held the sides together were straining to do their job.
“Wow, Erza!” Lucy exclaimed.
“That looks fabulous,” Wendy said.
“I don’t know,” Erza said as she checked herself in the three-way mirrors. “It seems a little loose.”
Levy just laughed. “Erza there is nothing loose about that dress.”
“Hmmmm,” was all she replied. “Well there are a few others I want to try first.”
After going through the entire contents of the dress shop, Erza decided to get the blue and gold dress. Lucy failed to find anything that she really liked in this shop or the next three shops they visited. They all decided to stop for some lunch before continuing the quest.
“I hope we find something soon,” Lucy said as she skewered a piece of chicken with her fork. “We’ve got to head over to the nail shop in an hour and I kind of hate doing anything right after a manicure.”
“I know what you mean,” Levy said. “It doesn’t matter how much they assure me my nails are dry, I always find a way to mess up at least one of them.”
The others chuckled and nodded in agreement.
“So, Wendy, who are bringing to the dance?” Levy asked as she took a bite of her sandwich.
The younger girl blushed before answering, “Um, I invited Chelia to come with me.”
“You two have been spending a lot of time together,” Lucy said with a smirk. “Is there anything you want to tell us about the pair of you?”
Wendy merely blushed and shook her head.
Lucy looked a little disappointed. “Oh, I was hoping that you were at least going on a few dates.”
Wendy looked at her with a scowl. “What have you heard?”
Lucy’s smirk was back. “Nothing, just that you two are hardly ever seen apart.”
“I heard that they were holding hands in the park,” Levy added in a conspiratorial whisper. “And more than one person at the guild thinks they’d make a pretty cute couple.”
Wendy’s face was now a solid pink color.
“I’ve always thought their fighting styles matched really well,” Erza supplied. “They are certainly able to take care of enemies quickly and efficiently when they fight as a team. They’d be unstoppable with a unison raid.”
All of the women laughed together at that comment. It seemed to diffuse the cloud of embarrassment that gathered around Wendy. Lucy and Levy stopped teasing her, but both of them made notes to pay particular attention to the couple at the dance.
“You know Lucy,” Levy said after taking a sip of her drink, “I think we’ve been looking in all the wrong places for a dress for you.”
Lucy was confused. “Lev, we’ve been in most of the clothing shops in Magnolia. Where else would we find a dress?”
“I think we ought to visit Aunt Olga,” Levy said with a shrug.
Erza nodded. “Yes, I should have thought of it before. We really must visit Aunt Olga she’d want to be a part of this,” she paused as she watched a waiter go by with a tray of pastries, “after dessert of course.”
Ten minutes after they finished eating they were standing in front of a discreet red door in one of the wealthier parts of town. Lucy’s mouth dropped open when she realized where they were. Erza pulled the doorbell and a musical note floated out to the street. A large, burly man with a face full of scars answered the door. Lucy was reaching for her keys when she saw the man smile at Erza, look past her to see the others, and his smile widened.
“Zaza! You’ve come back!” he cried as he enveloped Erza in a crushing hug. “And you’ve brought a new friend. Come in! Come in!”
He waved for the others to follow Erza into the front room of the establishment. He gave Levy a bear hug and merely placed a hand lightly on Wendy’s hair before he excused himself and hurried back into the rest of the building.
Lucy whispered urgently, “Levy, how is it that we are being welcomed into Dame Olga von Lanik’s front parlor without a three year reservation?”
Levy giggled. “You just have to know the right people Luce.” She looked at her stunned face and said, “You know you don’t have to whisper here.”
“I do not know that,” Lucy huffed as she crossed her arms. “How would I know that? I've never been here!”
Wendy let out a short laugh, “Try to calm down Lucy. Auntie Olga will be here any second.”
“Is she everybody's aunt?” Lucy asked, bewildered.
“I am no one's aunt, and everyone's aunt,” a woman said as she swept into the room. She was only slightly taller than Levy, but her bearing was more fiercesome than Erza in full battle mode. Her orange hair was swept up into a messy knot on the top of her head. A silky, sky blue shirt was tucked into a short orange skirt that matched the woman's hair. Her three inch heels made a tapping sound as she made her way to Erza, the long ropes of pearls around her neck faintly echoing her footsteps. She kissed both of Erza’s cheeks before continuing to speak. “Erza you look as robust as ever,” she proclaimed. “Levy! My lovely bookworm. Are you studying hard dear?” she asked as she greeted her with cheek kisses as well.
“Yes, auntie,” she replied smiling warmly at the woman.
“Good. Good.” She moved down to embrace Wendy. “My sweet sky dancer! You've come back to visit me. So good to see you again.”
“Good to see you too, auntie,” Wendy said with a grin.
“And you've brought a new friend with you!” the woman exclaimed as she stopped in front of Lucy. “Another fairy girl?” she asked. When Levy nodded she looked Lucy over carefully. Auntie Olga sniffed. “A star mage,” she said with a disdainful tone. Lucy suddenly felt like a lamb before a hungry lioness. There were several tension filled minutes as the woman's intense stare sized her up. A smile suddenly broke across her face. “She’s a good one. A very happy aura,” she declared. “May I greet you dear?”
“Wh- uh, yeah?” Lucy said as she recovered from the feeling that this woman had looked into her soul and judged her worthy. Worthy of what, she didn’t know, but she was relieved to have passed the test.
The little woman took Lucy by the shoulders and said, “I am Olga Clarise von Lanik.” She pressed a kiss to Lucy's right cheek. “And I am a faithful friend of the fairies.” She placed a kiss to Lucy's left cheek. “You may call on me for help, as I will rely on you.” A third kiss was placed in the center of Lucy's forehead.
Lucy was stunned, not least by the magic she felt now connecting her to this woman.
“We're here Auntie,” Levy began while Lucy recovered, “because of the dance on Friday night.”
“Ah, yes,” the woman said as she smiled at the girls, “it sounds like it will be quite the party!”
“It certainly will be,” Levy agreed. “Everyone is pulling out all the stops. The problem comes with Natsu.”
“What?” she sounded affronted. “What has my sweet little Natsu got to do with problems?”
“He's got many things to do with problems,” Erza said matter-of-factly. “In this case, he's waited till today to ask Lucy to go with him.”
“Actually, I'm the one who asked him,” Lucy said quietly as she'd finally found her voice.
“Ah! My little boy is going to the dance?!” She looked at Erza who nodded. “With a girl?” She asked Wendy as she gestured at Lucy.
“Yes,” Wendy smirked. “Who would have believed it?”
“Thanks Wendy,” Lucy grumbled while Aunt Olga celebrated.
“Come, come,” she said as she grabbed Lucy's hand to pull her into her workroom. “I will make you such a dress!”
The others waited in the front room while Lucy was whisked away.
Lucy stopped in awe at the doorway. The room was impossibly huge with a high ceiling and several arches. Three walls were covered in fabrics of every hue and design, while the fourth wall had threads to match each bolt. There was a large table in the center of the arches with several sewing machines located in the corners where seamstresses were busily working.
“Yes, yes,” Dame Olga said in a bored tone as she placed Lucy on a step stool to start taking measurements, “It's so big, so amazing, you are so in awe.” She grabbed a tape measure and a pad of paper. “So, what kind of dress are you hoping for?” she asked as she started to measure Lucy’s waist.
“Well, um, it is a formal dance so I was hoping for something almost floor length but not so long I’ll step on it,” Lucy began and saw the dressmaker nod as she wrote down a number. “And I'd prefer a halter top or something with sleeves, because I haven't had much luck with strapless dresses.” The dressmaker nodded again. “The difficulty is that the couples are trying to have clothes that pay homage to their partner’s magic and well…” she trailed off looking for the words.
“Natsu has such marvelous magic,” the little woman said. “You could get a red dress, or an orange dress, or even a yellow dress and it would match part of Natsu’s magic, yes? But nothing out there is the flickering flame? The warmth of the fire? The heat of the dragon!”
Lucy breathed out in relief. “Yes, exactly.” She paused, trying to decide if she should go on, and the silence of the other woman seemed to draw the next statement out of her. “I really want this to be special for him. He wanted to go more than he let on, and he seemed so disappointed that he wasn’t going to have anyone to be his friend at the dance.” She smiled down at the woman who had stopped measuring to look at her. “He’s my best friend, you know? I want him to be happy.”
The older woman nodded and smiled up at her. “Yes, yes, I see it now. I know just what to do for you.” She helped Lucy down from the stool. “Come back...” she thought for a moment, “Friday morning. Not before nine!” She rang a bell and the man who had answered the door was in the hallway. “Peter, this girl is expected back Friday morning.” The man nodded. “You’ll see, Lucy was it?” and the girl nodded, “It will be the perfect dress for the friend of my little Natsu!” She walked Lucy over to the doorway. “You know, you remind me of someone I used to be acquainted with. What’s your last name?”
“Heartfilia,” Lucy answered worried that her father had once tried to do business with the woman and had somehow offended her.
“Lucy Heartfilia?” Olga thought for a moment. “Are you related to Layla Heartfilia?”
Lucy nodded. “That was my mother’s name.”
“Oh, my lovely Layla!” the little woman exclaimed as she grasped Lucy’s hand. “She was a dear friend to me. She was the first one to commission a dress from me, you know.” A happy memory seemed to float across her face. “You my enchanting Lucy, you will find me a true friend! I know your mother would be happy to see you in one of my dresses. Just you wait. Auntie Olga will take care of everything! Simply everything!” And with that she handed her off to Peter.
The last thing Lucy saw was Olga calling for her helpers to start clearing the table and prepare a dummy for the dress.
It wasn’t until they were sitting at the salon getting their nails done that Lucy even dared to ask how Dame Olga, dressmaker to queens and princesses, was known as a friend to Fairy Tail. Apparently she had been friends with Master Makarov and Master Bob since about the dawn of time. She hadn’t always been a designer but some unfortunate incident had made her stop using her magic and switch to designing clothes. She didn’t come to the guild house very often because she and Porlyusica differed in opinion on too many things, one of them being Master Makarov, and so she only came for grand occasions. She liked to be visited by anyone from the guild, though it tended to be the girls that came most often, and delighted in hearing about the comings and the goings of “her fairy friends.”
Once done at the salon, the girls retired to a little cafe for some refreshment. They finished their tea, and Erza finished her strawberry tart, before they set off shoe shopping. Their shopping trip was finished off with a visit to a jewelry store to look for earrings, bracelets, or other baubles they might need for the dance.
Lucy sank into her couch at the end of the day. Her purchases, still in their bags, were laid on her bed. It had been quite the adventure and she was exhausted. It was with a little irritation that she saw Natsu crawling through her window.
“Natsu, you have a key. I'm obviously home. What do you have against coming through the door?”
Natsu just shrugged. “It's easier to come through the window,” he said with a grin. “Did you get everything you needed?”
Lucy couldn't help the weary smile that formed on her face. “Yeah, I think so. We went through almost every shop in Magnolia!”
“Why?” Natsu seemed genuinely confused.
“Well, it's a big night,” Lucy said. “I wanted to make sure I had something special to celebrate it with you.”
“Oh,” he grinned again at her. “That's nice, Luce. Are you too tired to make dinner?”
“Ugh, I can't even get up enough energy to get off the couch right now,” she said to the ceiling. “I don't think I even have the energy to think about dinner,” she moaned.
“That's okay. You stay right there. I'll be right back!” Natsu dived back out the window and Lucy laughed.
Lucy had drifted off to sleep when Natsu came back carrying take out boxes filled with noodles and veggies. He carefully moved the bags off of Lucy's bed, taking the opportunity to check their contents, before moving Lucy herself to the bed. She woke up as he set her down.
“Natsu, what are you doing?”
“We're having dinner in bed so you can just go to sleep when you're done.”
She didn't say anything for a moment then she exclaimed, “That's brilliant!”
“I know,” he said as he brought the food to the bed. He handed her one of the containers and a pair of chopsticks, then sat down next to her. “Are you sure you got everything?”
Lucy nodded and swallowed her mouthful of noodles. “Yeah, I got a couple more pairs of shoes because I’m still not sure exactly what the dress will look like.”
Natsu looked at Lucy obviously confused.
“Levy took me to Aunt Olga’s and she's decided to make my dress.”
His look went from confusion to concern. “Aren't her dresses really expensive?”
“Yeah,” Lucy said with a shrug. “I'll probably be paying her back for years and owe her my first born child, but-” she smiled at Natsu as she nudged his side, “You're worth it.”
Natsu just ducked his head and shoved a spear of broccoli into his mouth.
“Were you able to borrow something from Gray?” Lucy asked with a yawn.
Natsu nodded but the smile had gone from his face. “I had to promise to pay for two months’ worth of laundry service for the big snow baby, but he loaned me a nice shirt and pants.” He ate some noodles before adding, “And I got the shoes and socks, too.”
“Oh thank you, Natsu,” she gave a sigh of relief. “I guess we're all ready.”
“Except for your dress.”
She leaned against him as she sleepily repeated, “Except for my dress.”
Natsu took the carton from her hands, so she wouldn't drop it, and put it on the side table. He finished his dinner as Lucy’s head rested on his shoulder. Once he determined that she was truly asleep, he moved her so that she was tucked securely under her blanket. Then he put her food in the fridge and left through the window.
