I uploaded a very large chunk of the chats about Fern up until I made a dedicated discord channel for talking about them.
Part one (previously posted)
Part two (new!)
This one has a lot including ideas about Fern struggling to figure out who they are, them using their old skills to protect the group, the murder-y obsession with the cleric which turns into a different kind of obsession, and a little overview of the kinds of kinks and sex they have with the various characters.
I made picrews of the cleric, hero, and paladin characters during the chats, once I have the one for the druid done I will post them here all together.
It's not in this chatlog but I decided that Fern's cool pseudonym back when they were Dayn/the assassin was the 'Atropine Ghost', or the Ghost for short. Back then nobody knew their real name so they were always referred to by their pseudonym, including by the clients who hired them. Atropine is a poisonous compound found in belladonna.

This is gonna be pure Oc and Missa headcanons.
MaepleTea's design for q!Missa hit every little itch in my brain because of my oc, Soto whose related to a lot of things especially space & stars. Those little star and space designs in Q! Missa just...ooogh
What if Q! Missa, before he even considered going to Quesadilla Island was a gentle grim reaper that followed Goddess Kristen of Death. He was one of the few remaining grim reapers for her, and simply to say, it's more or less that they started to die off because of the constant exposure with dealing with lost souls that either are good and pure or corrupted and evil. Sometimes it could be in-between where the souls aren't fully ready yet and demand the reapers to attend to their unfinished business before peacefully going with them to the other side.
Missa was a different reaper to some extent. He did his duties, but was sassy and could bite back when pushed enough by the souls. He aids them and tends to their business, but never lets them ask too much of him. He tries to avoid staying long with corrupted souls, stained by greed and hatred for the living world. He wasn't a great fighter, but doesn't mean he was weak. He prefers defending himself than charging, and when he fights, he always makes sure to eye his opponent and be mindful of his other grim reaper peers. He covers their weakness and they do the damage for his.
Maybe that is why he caught Lady Kristen's attention, for being so gentle and kind to the lost souls and comforting them in their moment of hopelessness and despair at their death. He lingers and stays just a little bit with Lady Kristen in her domain, talking about his journey and the stories he hears from the people and silly jokes. He brings back gifts for her, whether that be books, a new device that the humans started to invent and vice versa.
Missa always had so much to say and Kristen had all the time to listen until duty calls for Missa once more to tend to the lost souls. Missa hears about the famous Angel of Death, or otherwise known as Lady's Death Husband... But they never really crossed paths or met.
For a while, The Angel of Death does tend to the souls, it's not in high demand for him the way it is for grim reapers... Grim Reapers were designed solely for this and Missa wasn't sure if he'd allow Lady Kristen's own spouse to fight in their stead. He hears about the tales of the Angel of Death and the Blood God from Lady Kristen...
He hears about a fierce yet caring and kind man, Tommy, was it? He wasn't sure, he is frankly, too embarrassed to ask again..
And he hears about the inventions from a young man, destined to bring more advancement to the world... Tubbo. Missa knows that name
And Technoblade, the Blood God, the greatest friend of The Angel of Death.
While Missa has never met Technoblade, only hearing great tales about him from Kristen. He was deeply saddened by his death... Such a brave and strong soul, taken away so cruelly?
....
Missa didn't consider his eventual death, his soul being slowly picked apart by the corrupted souls and having to tend to his grim reapers. He was kind and that was a flaw of his, for he gave parts of himself to his fellow peers to keep them fighting and helping Kristen to avoid tackling more chores.
It wasn't painful, Missa thought, as he lay on the ground, feeling how his energy seemed to be slipping little by little from him as days, hours, minutes and seconds go. Missa didn't like staring at the sky, it felt endless...the way there could be something out there...just waiting and watching to collapse on them.
It was silly, a very silly fear Missa had but...you couldn't blame him, for what could truly be out there? What was awaiting them in the never ending vast of space that could eat them up without a single thought or glance. The sky was so big and vast...it could crush the earth so easily...
.... Missa slowly blinked when the sky was suddenly blocked, to see another person staring back at him? Well, he wasn't sure, he couldn't see their eyes but he could see the frown on their face as they stared at him for a moment.
He wasn't sure what compelled him to speak, but with the energy he could muster. He weakly pleaded for another chance at life... He couldn't leave this world just yet, he couldn't leave all the duties to Lady Kristen...
Nor could he leave those poor souls alone.
The figure just stared at him quietly, tilting their head to indicate that they were listening and pondering. Finally, they reached out and gently tapped Missa's forehead, having a playful yet gentle grin on their face
And Missa suddenly felt so light, that he probably would actually get gobbled up by the sky itself. It was ironic how he felt fear from the sky, and yet here he was, beside someone that had attributes related to the stars he sees at night...
And Missa, too, had attributes as well like the person beside him. The stars on his face that seemed to gently climb up his face, and a newly gifted cape that felt like it was cut from space itself. He was pretty sure he had....new powers, what it was, he wasn't sure but he'd figure it out eventually. Hell, Missa was pretty sure, while he still had ties to death, had another connection to something else... something beyond even Lady Kristen's power..
Missa never got the person's name, but he felt like he would be seeing them soon again. He returned to Lady Kristen that night, ready to tell her another story but when he hears her frantically speaking to someone.... about how she couldn't sense her beloved anymore since he received a letter from an old friend to visit an island.
Missa decided to leave a letter, and a vow that he'd bring her spouse back home. If he couldn't, he'd protect him until they can reach her once more...
And the stars, no matter where Missa went, will follow him.

shiv and kendall both wanted to take over waystar with these delusional ideas about how they're good people who could turn their father's thoroughly rotten and corrupt conservative media empire into a good, honest company. at least roman wasn't lying to himself. roman wasn't trying to convince people that he was gonna turn waystar into It's a Small World roman was like "ooogh swedish dick mmm i love money" and that was that

Digimon Xros Wars Ep54 Liveblog
It’s time for team Xros Heart to defeat Bagramon once and for all — both from the outside and inside!
Tumblr media
no introduction. that's how you know this episode is Serious Business
it really is so nice to see previous cast members come back after so long
oh, so that's how the original Code Crown split apart. like with many things, it was the unprecedented speed of human advancement.
aw man they wrecked a perfectly good finale by having whoever the key animator with the heinous art style is do this episode
it's interesting how both Nene and Yuu's Xros Loaders are reformed Darkness Loaders
this looks like the same army that was attacking the very first zone way back when, which is a nice call-back
this is a cool battle so far
i see, Yuu is using his unorthodox xros strategies that he's been seen using before! i wonder if it'll be difficult for him to keep track of all those Digimon? probably now?
this contest Digimon is cool, it's a bunch of boxes. though it doesn't have the raw power of a drawing made by a little kid.
ooogh he's listening for his melody! just like when they met!!
yeah Yuu's doing his little xros to dodge strategy
yknow i really do feel that Appmon is like, a better Xros Wars in a lot of ways. like Bagramon was like "my world will be better" and Taiki was like "nuh-uh people and digimon and bugs all have hearts" and I just feel like Appmon did so much more with that concept. like with xrossing.
Shoutmon!
and also Beelzebumon! i guess it would make sense if everyone that dies goes back in the Code Crown since it can revive things
wyd if you went to all the trouble of corrupting the core of the world for evil and then it's just like "nope" and helps out a little kid instead
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
*smash bros voice* EVERYONE IS HERE
now THIS i remember! they're going to xros everything in the world with Shoutmon!
it's called final xros b/c it's the final xros in the show
X7Superior looks sooooooo dumb like every other xros BUT one cannot deny the coolness of fusing with literally every other Digimon in existence AND combining all their strength. and without falling apart, too, I remember that was a problem before.
& of course the great xros version of xros heart's theme is fantastic
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it's not an especially sad "goodbye to Digimon" scene purely because of how hopeful it is. like, ignoring that Hunters is going to be right after this, there's just so much hope and open-endedness that it's not sad. like, even though Taiki and the others can't be with the Digimon, they part ways with the knowledge that each of them are going to keep working to improve their worlds
ok SO it took way longer to watch this show than I thought it would. which has tinted my opinion a bit just b/c sometimes I've been like "i could be watching a better show than this" BUT besides that. my overall thoughts on Xros Wars is that it's an OK show. it's nothing spectacular, but it's a good show for when you're like "i have just GOTTA hear about how the power of friendship can overcome a bunch of obstacles". like it's fun to watch in that sense. but if you're someone like me who really prefers character-driven stuff it can be a real slog at times (especially since, for example, Taiki has like no flaws besides being too helpful and dying (i do like how his whole thing is helping people tho). but, yeah, I like the constant talk about the bonds of friendship, and I like how a lot of the Digimon are a little more fleshed out independently of their partners and how they have backstories and stuff. that's how i feel about it overall. i'm looking forward to seeing what xros wars hunters is like, though.

Fern Picrew Storytelling Indulgence
I'm having fun
Picrew images from this maker here.
Dayn (the assassin, before a bunch of people knock them out during a foiled assassination attempt and decide they're getting a magically enforced career change)
Tumblr media
Fern? (the freshly mind controlled soon-to-be herbalist, whose blank, unfocused smiling expressions are unnerving to be around)
Tumblr media
More under the Read More
Fern who got caught trying to poison everyone again after the mind control spell wore off, and the hands of the cleric who casts the spell again:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Freshly bamboozled Fern mindlessly nuzzles against the cleric's hands afterwards because contact is nice
Fern the herbalist, deemed harmless enough to not need to be mind controlled any longer, and trying to figure out who they even are anymore if they no longer have any desire to get rid of the adventurers and return to their old life, suspecting their current contentment isn't real because they were brainwashed into it:
Tumblr media
Fern the herbalist, after a long time of being conflicted about it, having reached a point where they're (mostly) at peace and decided it's fine if they can't fully untangle whether their happiness in their current role is because they were under mind control previously, the deciding part is that they are happy:
Tumblr media
Is it a little fucked that Fern's happy ending is being happy in the role they were brainwashed into? Yes, But. I prefer if there's a happy ending regardless.

Chatlog with a friend and a partner about the villain character who gets mind controlled into being a helpful potion maker for a group of adventurers who definitely put the 'chaotic' in chaotic good
Contains brainwashing/mind control, mental conditioning, dubcon due to said mental conditioning, internal conflict
Plus praise related stuff, embarrassment, and a surprising amount of hand feeding, sexual tension but no sex until nearly the end
The former assassin-turned-herbalist character has a name now too, they're called Fern

Have been going absolutely wild on my discord server since yesterday about the "villain brainwashed by heroes" idea
Inventing a whole scenario where a group of well-intentioned heroes in a high fantasy setting decide the best thing to do with an assassin/poisoner they apprehended is for the group's cleric to use mind magic on the assassin and make them placid and obedient and helpful so their skill at herbalism (e.g. low tech chemistry) can be put to use making healing potions instead
Extremely juicy, the conversation has gotten long enough that I will probably need to upload it to my neocities site if I want to share it

More Fern stuff that won't make much sense without the previous context, especially because it skips over 95% of the parts about them struggling to resist being mind controlled, flip-flopping on whether to kill their captors, and then struggling to figure out who the fuck they are if they've come to like the role they were put in
cw for the weird and dysfunctional group dynamic of an adventuring group and their (formerly?) brainwashed healer
Prinx:
I like the group growing fond of the personality Fern shows more after they're certain Having A Personality won't result in being slapped with a mind control spell Snarky, haughty, possessive in some ways, caring but a bit cranky about it, embarrassed by but craving vulnerability, critically weak to affection
Kitty — Yesterday at 21:51 I love all of these things
(Prinx) — Yesterday at 21:51 It takes a lot of internal struggling for them to get to a place where they feel like they have a stable identity. They haven't forgotten what happened, but… They're happy anyway. I think their possessive and bossy impulses are a way of dealing with any lingering resentment and feeling more in control. [21:54] Like a skewed 'you wouldn't let me go so now I'm keeping you, you're mine.'
Kitty — Yesterday at 21:55 Yeee [21:56] "If this was for my own good, I'm going to make you prove it. Be good to me. Every hour of every day."
(Prinx) — Yesterday at 21:57 THIS [21:57] exactly [21:59] And also "don't you dare get hurt and make me worry, if it wasn't for all of you I wouldn't even think of worrying about anyone except myself" [22:02] Very much 'you decided how I should be, take some responsibility for it'
Kitty — Yesterday at 22:02 Yeah!! [22:03] Plugs nicely into the aspect of their pride, expecting the heroes to not just commit to what they've done, but to excel at it, even if it's to keep them like a pet
(Prinx) — Yesterday at 22:05 Ye!! The group can't just act like what they do doesn't affect how Fern feels (in many cases 'what they do' is get hurt in dangerous situations) [22:07] Fern replying to something like "well you should have thought of that before you decided to brainwash me" and 60% of the group winces a little
(Prinx) — Yesterday at 22:13 I think they get very pissed off when one of the group is gravely injured, all "who did this" and "how could you let this happen" and "I'll make whoever is responsible pay" The rest of the adventurers refuse to tell them who did it/how it happened because they're honestly being kind of scary [22:13] "What, are you afraid I'll 'relapse'? Decide I like killing more than healing again?"
Kitty — Yesterday at 22:16 I had the thought of what if when their resentment flares up and clashes with their implanted/accepted tenderness and care it feels bitter. What if it leaves a bad taste in their mouth. Like poison. [22:16] That feels good in my brain
(Prinx) — Yesterday at 22:20 Sometimes it's satisfying to express that bitterness and show their teeth a little, even if they feel bad afterwards [22:25] If it gets to be too much for them, they get tempted to go to the cleric to ask to be made to stop thinking for a while
(Prinx) — Yesterday at 22:27 I think the healthier thing to do would be to talk through the whole weird messy tangle of how they feel but I don't know how long it would take to reach the resolve to do that It's easier to ask to make the thoughts go away again [22:29] Gradually they try to hold back their bitter words as much as possible because the momentary satisfaction of it stops outweighing the hurt it seems to cause [22:31] They're a messsssss But they're trying their best

Rotating the brainwashed assassin character in my mind
Or rather the character brainwashed to no longer be an assassin
Amoral and selfish character forced by magic to be a good person, eventually starts to like it enough that the magic isn´t needed anymore
It's a lot of fun to think about a character who has been forced to change but who once the force compelling them is gone, still doesn't want to change back to who they were, because it's more than mind control, it's deeper, it's conditioning and habit and instinct now (except in this scenario it's to use their abilities to benefit others and care what happens to other people, instead of for something nefarious)
