For the Divorce AU, Sheevy-pie is the moment the rest of Fox's bacth realise none of this is right. That this Fox who isn't watching his surroundings because he cant seem to stop looking at Palpatine like *that* every 5 minutes isn't the brother they grew up with, and that something is deeply wrong.
Ohhhh absolutely.
At first the rumours are passed off as fake, as gossip.
Then there’s a little bit of confusion, Palpatine? But if Fox is happy… if he says things are fine… maybe, be happy for them.
But then they start to look closer, more rumours come out about things being off between them, the magazines latch on. But Fox denies it, and he wouldn’t lie to his batch, right? The bruises must just be from training and work, no other reason. He’s just tired because even when he’s with the Chancellor there’s just too much to do. That’s it, right?
But they know Fox, he’s their little brother (or big in Rex’s case) they know when he’s lying or hiding things and they can see it. And no matter how in love he was, Fox wouldn’t drop his guard when on shift, especially not if he was guarding someone he cared about. The lovestruck look just doesn’t fit right on their brothers face, it’s unnatural. And the pet names just sound wrong.
That’s when they start to really question everything.
Every conversation, every bruise, every moment between the two filmed and posted to the holonet, that’s when they start reaching out to the Guard, when they up making sure Fox knows he can turn to them.
Because something is wrong with their brother, something that seems to go deeper than just an unhealthy relationship, and they can’t let that slide.

Thanks for the ask, I love this stupid AU.

Hey, it's the wild-anon for the third time today. Have you seen hearts-are-pure's recent post about armor in the Guard (/post/665263804433776640/armor-was-important-to-the-clones-for-the-gar)? It's... definitely something I can see happening in your AU. Not just everyone painting the inside of their own armor, but them banding together to paint the inside of their Commanders' armors. A reminder of how much they love / care for each other.
Sorry it’s taken so long to get to this but yes.
I’ve said in a few things that they do paint the insides of their armour and especially that commanders help the corries personalise the insides of their armour because they’re not allowed to have paint on the outside, but similarly the corries who’s armour has to be shiny and plain help design the outsides of their commanders armour.
For other battalions in the GAR having armour that’s yours and your design is a sign of who you are and your own strength. It’s what you earned for yourself in the field.
For the corries the design being given to your by the people who trust you to protect them and have their backs, it’s a sign of unity, and a different type of strength and trust.
The commander must be the shield for their corries, their armour is coloured to be identifiable, to be noticeable, to distract from the blank and repeated designs the others wear. And the commanders armour design reflecting the people it defends is the ultimate sign that the unit or squad is unified.
And if something happens to a commander and a new one must take their place, or if someone is promoted, the painting of their armour is practically a ceremony, done behind closed doors with just that unit, done together as a group as an act of unity and trust to commemorate the start of a new chapter in their lives.
And likewise the commanders help their shinies personalise the inside of their armour so it can still be theirs without being a danger to them. It’s just as important and personally.

Thanks for the ask. Sorry again it’s taken so long to get to it but writers block and a few other things have knocked me a little and I’ve just not had the time. However, fingers crossed, I’m back and so are the corries. :-)
Thanks again.
