Running Head: Covid- Pandemic Covid-19 Pandemic 2 Table of Contents Covid-19 pandemic 2 Definition of Covid-19 Pandemic 3 Causes and transmission of covid-19 3 Patients Conditions with a high risk of severe Covid-19 Illness. 4 Signs and symptoms of Covid-19 5 Diagnosis of Covid-19. 7 Management of Covid-19 8 Conclusion 10 References 11 Covid-19 Pandemic Covid-19 is one of the ravaging pandemics that has come during our time. In most cases, I have been told and read a history of various pandemics across the world and how they affected livelihoods; otherwise, I have never got real experience as in the case with covid-19. (Cennimo et al. 2020) Therefore, it would be satisfying to talk about covid-19 even though it has caused many wounds to other close family members and me. (Muniyappa & Gubbi, 2020) When the pandemic struck, I did not expect it to change much in our lifestyles; however, after a few months, I was amazed at the level of deaths experienced in countries like China. (Watkins, 2020) Later on, the disease was confirmed with us, but so many people cast spatial doubts on the disease as non-lethal. (Omer et al. 2020) Otherwise, the whole country went into a panic with many deaths witnessed without taking too long, prompting closer of various institutions, restricting movements, including international travels, among other measures. Unfortunately, even with such stiff measures that completely changed our lifestyle, the pandemic continued to show ravaging effects. (Cennimo et al. 2020) Consequently, the worst moments for my family and me struck, and we lost two family members to the disease. The most painful element is that we could not provide assistance or consolation to our loved ones while still battling the disease. Covid-19 changed the way of life. Subsequently, with the pandemic's continued ravaging attack, some of my close friends as well lost their loved ones to the pandemic. The entire country has been mourning. (Watkins, 2020) Moreover, life has changed, industries affected, so many people have lost their source of livelihoods, and so many lives lost. Surprisingly, the disease seems not to be going away any sooner as it continues striking back in different phases, thus, formalizing the wearing of masks to every citizen. Finally, it is also worth noting that those aged or have compromised immune systems are more vulnerable to the disease. (Cennimo et al. 2020) Definition of Covid-19 Pandemic The coronavirus disease of 2019 (covid-19) refers to an illness caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2; initially known as 2019-nCoV). The disease was initially diagnosed amid an outbreak of respiratory challenges in Wuhan city, Hubei province in China. (Omer et al. 2020) Subsequently, on the 31st of December 2019, the disease was reported to the world health organization and declared a global health emergency on the 11th of March 2020. The declaration of the novel coronavirus, a global pandemic by the world health organization, was the first of its kind since 2009 when H1N1 influenza was announced as a pandemic. (Watkins, 2020) Causes and transmission of covid-19 The disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 was referred to as COVID-19 by the World Health Organization with the acronym depicted from coronavirus 2019. World health organizations chose not to associate the virus name with any population, animal, or geographical location to avoid stigmatization. (Cennimo et al. 2020) Consequently, the international committee on viruses taxonomy on coronavirus study stated the novel corona virus's official designation as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). According to the center for disease control and prevention, coronavirus got to the United States between January and February 2020, establishing low-level transmission in the community before being identified. As a result, there have been widespread cases reported amounting to over 30.2 million and over 549000 deaths in America's united states as of the 1st of April 2021. (Muniyappa & Gubbi, 2020) Moreover, the CDC anticipates that the situation could worsen soon with an increased number of patients in need of medical care. (Cennimo et al. 2020) As a result, public health may be overstretched with a higher number of hospitalization and increased daily deaths. (Omer et al. 2020) Besides, CDC has recommended nonpharmaceutical interventions as a strategic response to curtail the spread of the virus and its impact. Also, various methods of suppressing the virus have been adequately analyzed, and all the state governments are encouraged to enforce them to halt the transmission of the virus. (Watkins, 2020) For instance, the need to keep distance amongst the populations and other interventions like wearing masks, self-isolation at home, institutional and business closure have been strongly encouraged by the CDC. (Muniyappa & Gubbi, 2020) To mitigate the rebound of virus transmission, the United States government, through CDC, has intensified public adherence to such policies as the public is encouraged to observe them for a long time to avoid a resurge of covid-19. (Cennimo et al. 2020) To manage the virus's spread, CDC has identified various categories of people at high-risk infection zones. Such include; travelers from locations where the local spread is high, health workers are handling Covid-19 patients, and those who have close contacts with infected persons shortly. (Watkins, 2020) Patients Conditions with a high risk of severe Covid-19 Illness According to a CDC report, there is evidence through systematic review/ meta-analysis that some conditions have a tangible association with the risk of severe Covid-19 disease. (Muniyappa & Gubbi, 2020) Such conditions include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cancer, Diabetes mellitus, Chronic kidney disease, Pregnancy, Smoking, Immunocompromised state from a solid organ transplant, and heart conditions like coronary artery disease and heart failure. Also, there are comorbidities such as Hypertension, Asthma, Liver disease, and Immune deficiencies supported by mixed evidence. (Cennimo et al. 2020) Persons with such conditions are advised to take specific measures that include; keeping distance with sick people, regular cleaning of hands, stocking up on supplies, staying home as much as possible, and putting a ready plan if they develop an illness. (Omer et al. 2020) Signs and symptoms of Covid-19 Covid-19 exhibits a range of symptoms from asymptomatic individuals to mild symptoms, severe illness, and even mortality. The symptoms may begin to show two days to fourteen days after contracting the virus. (Omer et al. 2020) From the analysis of around 181 cases of confirmed covid-19, the average incubation period was established to be 5.1 days, while persons that developed symptoms did so within 11.5 days after infection. Alternatively, several reports have indicated that from a sample of covid-19 infected population, 81% were found to be mild infections, i.e., mild Pneumonia, 14% exhibited severe symptoms like hypoxia, 5% were in critical conditions like respiratory failure, and 2.3% were fatal cases. (Cennimo et al. 2020) In general, the following symptoms can indicate the presence of covid-19 infection: cough, fatigue, fever or chills, difficulty in breathing, sore throat, body or muscle aches, loss of smell or taste, headache, diarrhea, vomiting, or feeling nausea and running nose or congestion. (Watkins, 2020) However, Pneumonia appears to be the common lethal manifestation of Covid-19. While partial or complete anosmia has been a history in patients that are finally diagnosed with covid-19. (Omer et al. 2020) For example, from a survey of outpatients that manifested mild symptoms, 64.4% of them had experienced a sense of smell and taste loss. (Muniyappa & Gubbi, 2020) Also, patients with severe covid-19 infections usually develop lymphopenia due to reduced B cells, CD4+ T cells, CD8+ T cells, together with Natural killer cells. (Watkins, 2020) Equally, some patients would experience a low percentage of basophils, monocytes, and eosinophils. Higher disease severity and poor clinical outcomes may be manifested by an accelerated neutrophil count and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio. (Muniyappa & Gubbi, 2020) Furthermore, covid-19 patients manifest upregulated exhaustion makers like NKG2A on cytotoxic lymphocytes, including CD8+T cells and Natural killer cells. However, these cells normalize again once the patient has recovered and even the SARS-CoV-2-specific antibodies are established in the body. (Cennimo et al. 2020) Moreover, severe covid-19 patients have manifested increased serum capacity of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-2, IL-6, IL-8, IL-1?, IL-17, MCP1, TNF, G-CSF, IP10, GM-CSF, and MIP1? (also referred to as CCL3) known as a cytokine storm. Again, D-dimer and C-reactive protein got to be unusually high. (Rome et al. 2020) Besides, the heart, kidney, and liver may suffer tissue damage and shock due to high levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines and several organs and respiratory failure. They also resolve extensive pulmonary pathology resulting from massive infiltration of macrophages and neutrophils, diffuse the alveolar damage and hyaline membrane formation, and thicken the alveolar walls. (Watkins, 2020) Also detected were lymph node necrosis and spleen atrophy, signifying immune-linked destruction in deceased patients. (Muniyappa & Gubbi, 2020) Patients with ARDS and Pneumonia suffered severe covid-19 with poor outcomes signified by high levels of IL-6 within their cells. However, IL-6 receptor-targeted monoclonal antibody (mAb) tocilizumab has been reported by various trials to have helped severe covid-19 patients normalize their respiratory difficulties and high fever with higher efficacy. (Omer et al. 2020) Diagnosis of Covid-19. The following physiotherapeutic measures can be used to consider a patient to have contacted covid-19: one when the patient exhibits a new onset fever and respiratory tract symptoms. (Watkins, 2020) Secondly, when the patient experiences severe symptoms in the lower respiratory tract without precise cause. However, a physician will have to enquire if the patient has been in close contact with suspected to have contacted coronavirus, a covid-19 patient, or has been in a community of SARS-CoV-2 transmission within the last two weeks. (Cennimo et al. 2020) Nonetheless, a microbiologic PCR test is necessary for a concise diagnosis. Also, patients who are not within critical conditions are supposed to consult their healthcare providers through phones to limit contacts. (Watkins, 2020) Equally, those present to health practitioners with symptoms of covid-19 ought to prompt control measures; thus, they should be isolated in private rooms as further assessments continue. (Omer et al. 2020) Besides, diagnosis has been eased by identifying SARS-CoV-2-specific IgG and IgM in patients together with the RT-PCR-based tests. According to some research studies, increased IgG response plus higher titer of antibodies had been detected in patients with severe disease associated with terrible results. Hence, it could be a result of antibody-dependent enhancement. Furthermore, immunopathological impacts of antibody-dependent enhancement were identified in several viral infections featuring antibody-linked facilitated viral entry plus induction of a dangerous inflammatory response. (Omer et al. 2020) Management of Covid-19 FDA has various programs aimed at enabling clinicians to gain access to investigational therapies during the covid-19 pandemic. (Omer et al. 2020) For instance, emergency use authorization and expanded access programs enable immediate deployment of capable therapies for investigation with emerging evidence. An antiviral agent was the initial drug approved for usage in covid-19 treatment. (Cennimo et al. 2020) The drug was used in the treatment of adults and children age 12 years and older. Alternatively, children below the age of 12 years are treated through an emergency use authorization. By August 2020, a EUA for convalescent plasma was made public, followed by FDA guidance that limited titer plasma usage. (Cennimo et al. 2020) Moreover, FDA published an antibody mixture of imdevimab and casirivimab as a EUA by November 2020. Besides, redeliver and Baricitinib were on the 19th of November 2020 issued as a EUA to treat confirmed covid-19 cases in hospitals for patients two years and older and needed supplemental oxygen. (Omer et al. 2020) Furthermore, 3SARS-CoV-2 vaccinesreceived emergency use authorization by the FDA beginning December 2020. Amongst them, two are mRNA-1273 (Moderna) and mRNA vaccines BNT-162b2 (Pfizer), while the third vector vaccine is the Johnson and Johnson (Ad26.COV2. S). lastly, various reviews and pharmacotherapy guidelines for coronavirus have been announced as a combined effort to evaluate and discover the efficacy of antivirals vaccines, immunotherapies, and monoclonal antibodies. (Watkins, 2020) The clinical treatment includes oxygen therapy and symptomatic management, while those patients with respiratory failure are put under mechanical ventilation. On the other hand, such drugs like remdesivir are actively used; none of them has been confirmed for treatment of covid-19. (Cennimo et al. 2020) Also, other than vaccine creation, treatment of the infection has become a point of focus. Besides, adaptive and innate immune responses can be activated by the SARS-CoV-2 infection. Still, the adaptive immune response that is impaired and innate response with uncontrolled inflammation can result in dangerous tissue damage. (Omer et al. 2020) Simultaneously, some patients with severe symptoms have been treated with neutralizing antibodies within the convalescent plasma, and 100% clinical improvement was manifested among those who critically ill with covid-19. Moreover, SARS-CoV-2-specific neutralizing antibody identification has been facilitated by using large-scale single-cell RNA sequencing B cells. (filled for B cells that develop antibodies concentrated towards the SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein) (Cennimo et al. 2020) Unfortunately, studies seem to find out that viral entry can be enhanced when a monoclonal antibody aiming at the receptor-binding domain of spike protein linked to the Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) virus is neutralized. As a result, the development of vaccines and antibody-based therapies would be affected by the pathogenic effect of antibodies aimed at the SARS-CoV-2. However, more studies would be necessary to validate or dismiss this possibility. (Omer et al. 2020) Nonetheless, even though some studies have found ARDS effective in treating covid-19 patients, its efficacy should be assessed further in larger controlled randomized trials. (Watkins, 2020) Some clinical trials have also indicated that neutralizing mAbs against other pro-inflammatory cytokines can also be a remedy targeting IL-17 and IL-1 and their respective receptors. Besides, covid-19 patients with severe symptoms can be treated through cytokine-based pathology and complement activation when induced during the early stages of infection. They help in attenuating inflammatory damages; however, some of these approaches have not been clinically approved. (Cennimo et al. 2020) To remove covid-19 linked immunopathology, another approach that includes mesenchymal stem cells to exert anti-apoptotic and anti-inflammatory impacts repairs the damage of pulmonary epithelial cell and heightens the clearance of alveolar fluid. (Omer et al. 2020)Furthermore, Prior clinical and preclinical had confirmed their safety and efficiency in non-covid-19 linked pathologies, thus, prompting the ongoing clinical trials of mesenchymal stem cell-based therapy in patients suffering from severe covid-19 related complications. (Watkins, 2020) Conclusion To fight against covid-19, identifying predictive biomarkers is essential for the patients who are more likely to evelop multiple organ failure or the ARDS. Particularly, those above 50 years of age have demonstrated high-risk individuals for severe symptoms, raising the need for the efficiency to produce a potent vaccine that would introduce proper humoral and cellular responses within this population. (Omer et al. 2020) Besides, Covid-19 patients with diabetes and hypertension are likely susceptible to severe disease, hence understanding why prompting worsening disease results for the patients with such chronic diseases would help evaluate SARS-COV-2 immune-escape mechanisms avail clues for the management of severe cases clinically. (Cennimo et al. 2020) Consequently, to globally fight the covid-19 pandemic, standard treatment procedures are essential for severe cases. The use of antiviral and anti-inflammatory drugs altogether can be more effective than using either of them singularly. Some Chinese traditional medicine has also indicated clinical efficacy following vitro evidence for blockage of SARS-CoV-2 multiplication and inhibiting SARS-CoV-2 infection and pro-inflammatory cytokine generation. Procedure of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during COVID-19 in Biomedical Journal of Scientific & Technical Research
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been announced as epidemic by the World Health Organization, later it declared as a pandemic on 12th March of 2020, with Italy being considered the fresh ‘‘epicentre’’ of the emergency, which started in the province of China, Wuhan. 22,512 cases have been accounted for in Italy when begins from 15 March 2020, 2,026 (9%) of which belong to people who works in hospitals [1]. Tragically, rates for emergency unit with the requirement for mechanical ventilation and tracheal intubation and are roughly 5% in patients having Corona Virus [2]. Given the fast development of this outburst and the need to bound death rate in medical care laborers, it is principal that medical services experts be comfortable with mutually the meaning of an excessive hazard introduction and the right donning & doffing methods for the PPE required throughout the consideration of these infectious people. A great hazard introduction has been characterized as ‘’delayed near interaction with Corona virus patients who are not using mask whereas the medical services specialist’s mouth and nose are presented to objects conceivably contaminated with the infection [3].At the point when medical services suppliers’ mouth, nose or eyes are insecure during the lead of airborne creating clinical methodology on patients with Corona disease (e.g., Nebulizer therapy, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, intubation, extubation and bronchoscopy) around is a great danger of infection [3]. At the point when utilized effectively, PPE shields from this Virus, yet this is basic that PPE is appropriately donned and properly doffed. The breadth and variety of different types of PPE, such as facemasks, gloves, and respiratory equipment, as well as the extended use beyond previous standards, have led to a spectrum of common dermatologic conditions, including contact/irritant dermatitis, pressure-related skin injury, acneiform eruptions, and moistureassociated skin irritation [4]. These reenactments have uncovered basic parts of the cycle that, whenever done inappropriately, may prompt penetrates in biosafety and possible risk with the infection, triggering Corona infection.

Research - Life After Covid
What is Covid?
Corona virus disease 2019 pandemic was originated from Wuhan city, Hubei Province, China in December 2019. The outbreak of Covid 19 pandemic has mostly affected the human health and has severely been observed as a reason for increased death cases all over the globe.
Covid 19 has affected everyday life of humans and has hindered the worldwide economy. This pandemic also impacted a social life of people all over the world. Many countries locked their facilities, amenities, educational institutions, industrial sectors, daily usage marketplaces and others, to prevent the spread of this infections.
A negative point of the virus is that emotional well-being is avoided, such as physical interactions (hugging, kissing) socializing activities (dinner with friends) are canceled.
People are also losing jobs in the business sector at an alarming rate.
However, there are also positive points such as people could spend more time bonding with their families. Even the global movement told people about the social guidelines and the special vaccine. Hygiene and sanitation were given much attention. Public health became scruntized as well. Many businesses embraced remote working and digitalization.
Some suggest that the Corona virus is like a dress rehearsal for the much bigger climate crisis to come. Moving towards a zero-carbon economic will involve many of the changes. For example, if people are working at home, then this suggests that a great deal of office space in the center of cities will no longer be needed. What happens to city centers which are crowded? What sort of transport might we need if the nine-to-five commute is no longer a routine? What sort of housing, schooling and care might help people work successfully from home, or local workspaces? So, this is the little opportunity that the virus has given us.

COVID 19 PANDEMIC.
What major historical events do you remember? The corona virus disease 2019 Covid-19 pandemic is a global out break of coronavirus,an infectious disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2). A pandemic is when a new disease or new strain of an existing disease spreads worldwide. Viral respiratory diseases such as new influenza viruses and COVID 19 are the…

What is disease X? How are scientists preparing for the next pandemic?
"Disease X." The term was coined years ago as a way for scientists to work on medical treatments for unknown infectious threats—such as the new corona viruses that cause COVID-19—rather than just known ones like the Ebola virus. The idea was to encourage the development of platform technologies, including vaccines, drug therapies, and diagnostic tests, that could be rapidly adapted and deployed in response to pandemics or future outbreaks with pandemic potential.
What is 'X disease'?
It is an uncommon but somewhat mysterious moniker for a serious sickness associated with microbiological threats. The World Health Organization included deadly diseases like Ebola and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) on its list of pathogens that should receive the highest priority for research in 2017. When COVID-19 entered the pandemic in late 2019, it was a kind of disease X, according to its unique corona virus source. There could be more of these illnesses in the future due to the widespread viral reservoir seen in wildlife. This is because it has the ability to spread and infect people as well as other species, creating an infection to which humans would be immune.
According to the WHO website, it "represents the knowledge that a serious international epidemic may be caused by a pathogen currently unknown as a cause of human disease".
It could be a new agent—a virus, a bacterium, or a fungus—with no known treatment.
The Lancet says the WHO officially began using the term in 2018, which represents an unknown disease with pandemic potential.
Experts have called for research to identify the next pathogen that could cause another pandemic.
Health experts worldwide have issued a warning, suggesting that COVID-19 could signify a more catastrophic Disease X pandemic, the Daily Mail reported. The head of the UK's vaccine taskforce, Dame Kate Bingham, expressed gratitude that the virus was not more deadly than COVID-19 and warned that the next pandemic could kill at least 50 million people.
Disease X Epidemic
As COVID-19 becomes a more familiar and recurring health problem, UK medical experts are now preparing for a possible new pandemic called "Disease X". They warned that this new virus's effects could be comparable to the devastating Spanish flu of 1918–1920. The World Health Organization has named this "Disease X Pandemic", and to combat it, vaccines must again be developed and delivered promptly. However, there currently needs to be a guarantee that this will happen.
Medical professionals are voicing concerns about "disease x pandemic," a term that the World Health Organization coined. They warn us that this next pandemic could kill 20 times more people than the corona virus. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, more than 2.5 million people have tragically died worldwide.
How can we make medical interventions without knowing which disease ("DISEASE X") will strike next?
• By focusing efforts to develop drug remedies against viral families, it is more likely to start a pandemic than a specific virus that may or may not pose a future threat.
• The United States should fund a new, targeted Disease X medical countermeasures program that uses vaccination platforms and technologies best suited to virus families that could unleash future devastating disease outbreaks.
• As the next member of the viral family evolves, medical immunity against one member can easily change to target another.
• Private-public collaboration can develop vaccines, antiviral, and diagnostics for various unknown, potentially pandemic viruses in months rather than years using this adaptive strategy.
According to the authors, Covid-19, which has killed 20 million people worldwide, was not the worst-case scenario. They note that the virus has killed fewer people than Ebola, avian flu and MERS. They argue that chance cannot prevent subsequent epidemics, which may be more deadly and contagious. "Most victims of the virus have recovered. However, 67% of Ebola patients die. At 60%, bird flu is close. Even MERS reached 34%.
Subsequent outbreaks cannot be controlled, the authors say. They recommend improving global cooperation and coordination in vaccine research and development, strengthening health systems and surveillance, and preparing for pandemics. They claim that the next pandemic is coming, and the world needs to be ready.
Control and mitigation strategies include developing and implementing uniform international guidelines for controlling bioterrorism. To prevent the spread of Pathogen X across borders, it is necessary to implement immediate and appropriate travel restrictions, including strict airport screening. It is the world. It also requires a collaborative approach by world leaders, scientists, epidemiologists, and infectious disease specialists to investigate, control, and eradicate disease X. Widespread and mass testing, surveillance, and aggressive contact tracing are potentially effective tools to contain outbreak-like situations in time" said Dr Rastogi.
"Concentrated efforts to accelerate access and rapid availability of immediate treatment measures—testing kits, vaccines, and first aid—are needed before and during epidemics. Ongoing continuation of research on preventive aspects—development of vaccines and reduction of processes—should be increased and prioritized. And X diseases. Fight against serious adverse consequences," she says
"A one-health approach aimed at bridging institutional gaps, creating and stratifying priority risk and warning pathogens, and emphasizing mitigation strategies for emerging and re-emerging pathogens—potentially disease X—is the need of the hour to prevent these global catastrophes. should
How is research on the next pandemic going?
It took just 326 days for the first COVID vaccine to be approved since the genetic sequence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus was published, thanks to work done since 2017 to prepare for Disease X. Now groups like the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, or CEPI, are supporting rapid response vaccine platforms under a $3.5 billion plan that could develop new vaccines within 100 days of pandemic-potential emerging viruses. Other efforts underway include:
• Updating international health regulations and creating a new global agreement to protect the world from future emergencies
• A new fund, approved by the World Bank, for pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response.
• A WHO Hub for Epidemics and Epidemic Intelligence in Berlin aimed to provide rapid access to critical data and develop analytical tools and predictive models to assess potential threats.
• The Global Virome Project aims to discover zoonotic viral threats and prevent future epidemics.
• A $5 billion US government initiative to develop next-generation vaccines and treatments for COVID-19 is called Project NextGen.
$262.5 million in funding for the US National Network to Identify and More Efficiently Respond to Public Health Emergencies.
Disease X is found in which countries?
The following hypothetical epidemic threat, disease X," not tied to a specific country, is not a new term, but its prominence has increased recently. Introduced by the World Health Organization (WHO) in February 2018, Disease X represents an uncharacterized, potential pathogen that could be at the center of future pandemics. Rather than identifying a specific disease in a particular country, the concept is a profound reminder of our continued vulnerability to unpredictable infectious diseases. A recent warning from a UK health expert has reignited the conversation about Disease X, suggesting the next pandemic could be even more devastating than COVID-19.

Denny Ja 58's chosen work: Ratu Adil named Virus Corona is in the spotlight?
The Corona virus or scientifically known as SARS-COV-2, has been a global concern since it was first discovered in Wuhan, China in December 2019. The virus that caused Covid-19 diseases has spread to various parts of the world and has caused a huge impact in Various aspects of life. In recent months, the Corona virus has also been in the spotlight in the chosen Denny JA 58 work entitled "Ratu Adil named Virus Corona". Why is this work so attracting the attention of the public? This article will discuss more about it. First of all, we need to understand who Denny JA 58. Denny JA is a well-known Indonesian writer and poet who has spawned many works that get high appreciation from the community. However, his latest work entitled "Ratu Adil named Virus Corona" managed to steal the attention of many people because the theme raised was very actual and relevant to the current situation. In this work, Denny Ja 58 describes the Corona virus as "Ratu Adil" which has a big impact on humanity. In some of the poetry stanzas he wrote, Denny Ja 58 conveyed the message that this virus came not only as a disaster, but also as a recovery of imbalances that occur in human life. In this context, Denny Ja 58 uses the Corona virus as a metaphor to describe the imbalance of the social and economic systems in the world. He criticized the increasingly widening social gap, injustice that occurred in various sectors, and the concentration of unbalanced power. By using this metaphor, Denny Ja 58 invites the reader to reflect on how humans can improve their lives and create a more just world. In addition, one of the reasons why Denny Ja 58's chosen work is so interesting is the way to deliver a strong and inspired message. Denny Ja 58 uses beautiful and meaningful language of poetry to convey its important messages. He wrote in a poetic and deep style, so that it can make the reader touched and inspired. In this work, Denny Ja 58 also shows a deep understanding of the current global situation. He described the Corona virus as a form of justice that came to re -balance the world that has long been trapped in imbalance. In Denny Ja 58's view, the Corona virus became a tool to realize humans about the importance of mutual care, helping, and togetherness in dealing with crises like this. However, although the chosen work of Denny Ja 58 has gained a lot of appreciation, there are also some criticisms of the views conveyed in this work. Some people argue that describing the Corona virus as a "fair queen" can strengthen the negative stigma of this virus. They argue that the Corona virus should be seen as an enemy that must be defeated, not as something good or has a positive impact. Even so, it cannot be denied that the chosen Denny Ja 58 work has succeeded in exploring a unique theme and presents a new perspective in dealing with the Corona virus pandemic. This work invites us to see the current situation from a different perspective, and re -reflect on how we can improve the world that is. In conclusion, Denny Ja 58's chosen work entitled "Ratu Adil named Virus Corona" has been in the spotlight because the theme he raised is very actual and relevant to the current situation. In this work, Denny Ja 58 depicts the Corona virus as a metaphor to describe the imbalance of the social and economic systems that exist in the world. He invited the reader to re -reflect on how humans can improve their lives and create a more just world. Despite getting criticism, this work still succeeded in exploring a unique theme and presents a new perspective in dealing with the Corona virus pandemic.

Understand more in the selected work of Denny Ja 58: Ratu Adil named Virus Corona from a professional perspective
In the current Pandemic era, the Corona virus has become a major concern for many people around the world. The former BRP Rizal (PS-74) Vessel of the Philippine Navy (PN) will soon become a Floating Museum, Hotel and Educational Facility for Tourists in the Dinagat Islands, this after the PN approved of its transfer to the Local Government there recently.
The Ship first served with the United States Navy (USN) in World War Two (WW2) and also fought in the Korean War in the 1950s before it was donated to the PN by the United States (US). Because the Ship was built and served with the US, their approval also had to be obtained and which was provided.
The Pictures are from the Decommissioning Ceremony of the Vessel back in January 2020, just before the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) Pandemic happened. I think it’s great that the Vessel will become a Tourist Attraction instead of being dismantled and sold for Scrap, or used as a Target Vessel for Live-Fire firings, so congratulations to both the BRP Rizal and the Dinagat Islands.

Thoughtful Thursdays: Artificial Intelligence in Times of Pandemic
Tumblr media
The world was taken by storm when covid 19 hit and started to “nurture” in December 2019. Not long after, the disease was spread to every city and every lane, leaving its strong, sharp effects on the healthcare industry. Early and quick detection of COVID-19 is a challenging task for the medical community, but it is also crucial in stopping the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Prior attestation of artificial intelligence (AI) in various fields of science has encouraged researchers to come up with stable and efficient solutions and further address this problem.
Artificial intelligence played a vital and independent role in countering corona while helping gain knowledge about necessary information such as vaccine distribution, hospital management, drug discovery, financial aid circulation, clinical data insights, and covid diagnosis.
AI can help in mitigating the impact of the lockdown and in actively responding to this crisis. A very important method to evaluate the effect is rapid and random widespread testing to understand the pattern and identify hotspot zones to quarantine affected people. Apps like Arogya Setu were introduced, which show much of the user’s risk factor depending on their movement and proximity to infected or at-risk people, based on location-based mobile data using Bluetooth for generating alerts. The app alerts are accompanied by instructions on how to self-isolate and what to do in case someone develops symptoms that they need help & support. Similarly, DRDO’s AI brains launched SAMPARC App, which had created a technology-focused solution to track patients who are under quarantine.

The pandemic generated tons of data every day. Patient data, CT scans, MIT reports, chest X-rays, blood results, genetic data, and more. Human experts can barely scratch the surface of this data. Though fortunately enough, AI algorithms can process these insights at scale and analyze patterns to speed up diagnosis and give tips on vaccine development and treatment. Pharmaceutical firms, medical institutions, hospitals, and healthcare technology providers who adopt AI tools will boost both profits and market share.
The gold standard for diagnostic tests for COVID-19 is RT-PCR. However, RT-PCR does produce false negatives making it not the most trusted method to verify the disease. A study concluded that chests are far more sensitive to CT scans than to RT-PCR tests (98 vs. 71%, respectively). Using AI, we can train algorithms to produce and analyze chest computed tomography (CT) scans with vascular thickening, spider web, bilateral and GGO, and more complex patterns.
To add even further to this, we can make these algorithms with crazy high-end dimensional features even radiologists can’t handle, such as wavelet and texture information allowing pneumonia caused by covid to be distinguished early on and be given the right cure. Researchers have succeeded in developing a machine model that can diagnose corona from chest X-rays 10 times faster than human radiologists and up to 6% more accurately.

PUBLIC HEALTH *cough coro cough*
Since the end of 2019, the world has been shaken by the Corona Virus Disease 19 (COVID-19) attack. The Malaysian government has adopted numerous phases of the Movement Manage Order (MCO) 2020 beginning on March 18, 2020, in an effort to control the prevention of COVID-19. In the face of the COVID pandemic-19, which is spreading rapidly, and the implementation of the PKP-PKPB-PKPP, which was executed for the first time in Malaysia, the public is always searching for sources to get the most up-to-date information on the status and news of the COVID-19 outbreak, as well as the most recent Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). People used to rely on traditional sources such as radio and television to acquire information, but technological advancements now put everything at their fingertips through the usage of the internet and communications technology (ICT). The usage of technology such as the Internet, as well as media such as social media, is considered as extremely beneficial in giving up-to-date information. During the isolation or lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of persons accessing virtual (online) content rose over the world. Among the virtual content accessed is the ability to delight yourself and obtain up-to-date information on COVID-19.
Tumblr media
In the past year, there have been 128 million more mobile phone users, according to the "Digital 2020 Global Statshot Report" by We Are Social, Hootsuite, and Kepios. This growth in mobile phone users is likely to contribute to an increase in social media use globally. The spreading of fake news and rumours is one of the major issues confronting the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the start of the COVID-19 crisis, the WHO has voiced their concern about the virus pandemic as well as the issue of false information and the dissemination of persistent falsehoods. False information can prevent the responsible party from responding, prevent the public from receiving accurate information, and delay the adoption of measures to combat the outbreak.
The Movement Control Order (MCO) enforced in our country since mid-March last year to curb the spread of COVID-19 has also increased the use of the internet and communication on social media. Various campaigns and reminders are given by relevant agencies such as the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) about the ethics of using social media, but such campaigns are considered unimportant and ignored by some netizens. Everyone is racing to share information and give opinions without considering the validity of the information. The public is advised to first check the validity of any information regarding the COVID-19 outbreak and the Movement Control Order (MCO) before sharing it on social media to avoid the spread of false news and inaccurate information. People can be upset by fake news. The community is under strain as a result of the scenario as reported in fake news. The existence of prior news has increased the burden of those responsible for determining the veracity of the news and presenting it to the community.

Social Gaming and Covid-19 pandemic
A new virus dubbed Corona Virus Disease, which had its roots in Wuhan, China, shocked the world in the early years of 2020. (COVID-19). The virus outbreak has resulted in numerous losses and inequities in many facets of life, particularly about the global economy. Regardless of their size, a lot of businesses must shut down since it is impossible to predict when they will reopen. The gaming sector, on the other hand, has not only been the least harmed by this pandemic but thrives in it. This is due to a decrease in outside activities and an increase in inside activities. Social gaming is becoming a substitute for traditional social involvement and interaction.
As a result, playing video games continues to draw more and more individuals every day out of all the conceivable things to do during the lock-down. Video games have become a very prevalent and well-liked pastime because of the coronavirus lock-down, as people have begun to rediscover their old favorites or enjoy trying out new ones to pass the time. There has been an astonishing increase in players from around the world's online activity, according to the gaming industry.
The COVID-19 outbreak has produced peaks and valleys for the larger gaming sector. Over the years, the gaming market in Indonesia has grown steadily. Even years before the COVID-19 pandemic occurs, the development is astounding. More than 70 million people worldwide played video games in 2017, and 90 million people played them in 2018. The number of video game users in Indonesia has topped 100 million in 2019, demonstrating the country's youth's interest for video games and eSports. Additionally, Indonesia, one of the top 10 countries in the world for mobile video game income generation, achieved 40 million mobile video game users in 2019 and is anticipated to produce US$712 million in revenue in 2020.
Tumblr media
Finally, the epidemic might cause esports to become more commonplace. Due to the unusual (and unintentional) adoption of esports by broadcasters, leagues, and sportsmen looking to attract viewers, analysts have referred to esports as being "popularized and legitimized in an unforeseen and deep way." "Among younger age groups, a protracted suspension of traditional sports leagues may encourage more fans to regularly participate in esports, adding tens of millions of additional customers to the sector globally."

Pandemic Scenario in India: A Review
Tumblr media
Abstract The COVID-19 has made many a change in daily livelihood of us. We are the present generation who has witnessed a pandemic in their lifetimes. In this context it is very much relevant to get an idea about any kind of remedial procedures were discussed or mentioned in literature down the ancient history of India. India is mother of ancient civilization. There are various discoverers which were made by Indian scientists in ancient times and now these are recognized by modern science. Amongst them most important is ayurveda. In present years, the herbal ameliorating role of ayurveda in various kinds of diseases is accepted by the modern scientific and/ medical personnel. In this quest I have made some survey of literature (both online and offline). Based upon the available information the present review was designed. I divided my study in two parts. In the beginning, we will look into the occurrence of pandemics in ancient India. Second, we will put some light regarding the remedial procedures and /measures taken to stop the spread of pandemic mentioned in ayurveda. In this regard, I have got very interesting results. I noted occurrence of pandemic in India times back to B.C.E and this was prevalent in 19th century as well. For prevention of this pandemic number of measures are mentioned in ayurveda including quarantine, isolation, home isolation etc. As part of remedial measures, boosting up of immunity, reframing and refreshing of metabolic systems of body, different tests and methods for enhancing lung capacity, physical mobility (in forms of yoga and meditation) is prescribed as non-invasive methods. Thus, present study will encompass the rich cultural as well as scientific heritage of ancient India. Keywords: Ayurveda; ancient; India; occurrence; pandemic; prevention
Introduction When the globe was heading towards conquering Artificial Intelligence as an inherent tool for virtually doing everything in 2020, the dream line trajectory was deviated by a virus. Originating from China in December 2019 the novel Corona Virus reached to about 19 Countries by end of January when the WHO declared it a Public Health Emergency of International concern (PHEIC) [1]. The prevention and control guidelines were released by the WHO and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) Govt. of India [2,3]. The simple good personal hygiene measures and physical distancing were declared as most effective protections for the COVID 19[4]. Age old traditions and Customs have been the core of Indian culture. The Indian way of living - Sanatan Sanskriti has many scientific principles inherited in it, to prevent infectious diseases [5]. We follow them traditionally sometimes not even realizing the rationale behind it. This article tries to explore the correlation between preventive measures and traditional practices of Sanatan principles of life. These principles were capable of preventing infectious diseases, major killers in ancient times. Many measures are coherent with the Modern Public Health approaches of handling infections and there is a need to realize this reality. Role of Customs, Culture & Traditions Of “Sanatan Way of Life” in Disease Prevention India is the most ancient civilization and has its own way of living; the scriptures mention it as Sanatan way of living. It has customs, traditions and culture which define the different code of ethics, behaviour, lifestyle and every aspect of human life. It talks about your daily routine, type of diet, Yoga-asana, and rituals. It is not a religion but rather a way of living. It is based on the tenets of achieving Moksha or salvation and thus restricts to its followers to speak truth and follow the correct path. The Sanatan Sanskriti is above the religion and based on experiences rather than blind teachings. This Sanatan way of living is much ancient to Hinduism, which was the religion being practiced by majority of people in this geographical area. The principles of Sanatan Sanskriti were central to Hinduism. The Sanatan Sanskriti, Yoga and Ayurveda
are invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. Sanatan Sanskriti defines how to live a life; Yoga unites mind, body and soul for attainment of physical, mental and spiritual health. Ayurveda deals with preventing diseases and promoting positive health [6,7]. All these are known to increase immunity and our defense mechanism essentially needed to fight all diseases including COVID 19. Our lifestyle, behaviour and nutrition are the key factors to fight from diseases. The Sanatan way of living has stressed on these tenets for living a healthy life and numerous scriptures are available in support of that. Sanatan practices have many of the preventive measures essentially required to fight COVID 19. We shall see how these ancient measures are capable of preventing Pandemic and are in coherence with our modern epidemiological and scientific knowledge. Hand Washing The concept of cleanliness (“Shaucha” in Sanskrit”) is vital in Sanatan traditions. The cleanliness or purity of anything decides if it is usable or not. The importance given to hand washing, cleaning of body, surroundings and objects to be used is such that your work will be fruitful only if everything is clean. The use of unclean object was rather a sin in ancient traditions. In Sanatan concepts it is essential to wash hands before eating and performing any ritual. It was also essential to wash hand with water and fly ash or clay or Lona (having detergent properties) after use of Toilets. To prevent infection there was a concept of separate slippers made of wood, for outdoor and indoor home. Bringing outside slippers inside the rooms and vice-versa was strictly prohibited. People following these rules of Sanatan way of life requests visitors to remove sandal, shoes or slippers outside the house to prevent any probable spread of infection. The description of cleanliness, hygiene and purity are mentioned by Patanjali in Yoga-Sutras, here Shaucha is described as- Shauchatswangjugupsa Paraairsansagah || (2.41) Sattva Shuddhisaumanyakagryendriyajayatsamdashganyog- yatsavanan Ch|| (2.41) Shaucha is that from which there arises dislike i.e., dispassion towards one’s body and detachment towards contact with others. Shaucha gives rise to purity of mind, contentment, one-pointedness, conquest of the senses and competency to attain Atma-Darshana (Self-Realization). Manu Smriti also describes Shaucha as one of the four Niyamas or duties [8]. Ahimsa satsyam ateyam shaucham indriyanangraha. Etam samanaskam dham chatuvarganye abravin manuh || (10.63) Non-Violence, Truth, Non-Stealing, Cleanliness/Purity and Sense-Control are the duties that are common for all four classes, so declares Manu [9]. Hence, Cleanliness is a prime duty as per Sanatan traditions. Violation of cleanliness of body, mind or soul was considered sin. Quite similar to these COVID 19 times where not washing hand is a sin and every celebrity, sportsperson and others are requesting to wash hands with soap or sanitizer regularly. No Spitting in Public The Sanatan philosophy further stresses on cleanliness of environment. Atharva Veda mentions the Earth as a mother, a Living force. The Manu Smriti says that no one should throw filthy substances like urine, faeces, saliva, cloths infected by impure substances, blood and other poisonous things. Thus, our culture also cared at that time regarding water pollution, Soil pollution and Bio Medical Waste. It also stresses about hygienic disposal of faeces and urine and suggested covering them in deep ground with sticks, grass, leaves, clod etc. for natural decomposition. So, Sanatan culture was following hygienic practices and environmentally friendly methods of waste disposal to sustain healthy life, environment and development much before the world thought of concept of hygiene, waste disposal and sustainable development [10]. Yoga & Ayurveda Yoga uses various postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve overall health. Yoga was developed in ancient India as a spiritual practice thousands of years ago. Today, most Westerners do yoga for exercise and to
reduce stress. Yoga is one of the best ways available for stress management. It emphasizes unifying mind with body and soul to promote mental, spiritual and physical wellbeing. Vedic literature says one has to clean all the body secretions to avoid various infections and allergies. This includes Nasal mucus secretions, Ear wax, Phlegm, Tears, Rheum of the eyes and sweat. Even in the times of COVID 19, Yoga will not only improve lung capacity but also stabilize mental health to overcome the stress and depression associated with Pandemic. Ayurveda originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is often called the “Mother of All Healing.” In Sanskrit it, means “The Science of Life.” here emphasis is on prevention and encourages the maintenance of health through close attention to balance in one’s life, right thinking, diet, lifestyle and the use of herbs [11-13]. Namaste – The Indian Welcome Starts with Namaskar The Indian way of greeting one another has become global now as it does not require touching or coming close. Many famous international personalities have adopted Indian Namaskar for greeting others instead of handshake. Now its importance is being realized for implementing the social distancing. Namaskar means “I bow to the divine in you” and is a way of saying ‘May our minds meet’, indicated by the folded palms placed before the chest. This is an evidence of India’s rich cultural heritage being in line modern scientific rationale. [14] Social Distancing – The Ancient Indian’s Had Social Stratification Social distancing is being followed to prevent the spread of Corona Virus. The idea is to avoid being too close to contract the droplets from infected person. Public is advised to stay out of

COVID and the Arts
The existence of algorithm-driven, non-chronological "timelines" is very bizarre right now. On my Facebook feed, I see posts from March 10 talking about starting the second week of previews or celebrating good box office returns. On March 12, my job ceased to exist, as did the jobs of hundreds upon hundreds of people as an entire industry shuttered over the course of one day.
The cancellations and closing of events and arts/entertainment venues, while important for public health, have left many people (who earn on a gig basis rather than salary) very suddenly and entirely without expected income. There is no work-from-home option, just their job disappearing entirely. Some people will be able to collect unemployment insurance, but many won't even get that, as they work as independent contractors who are paid a fee for work delivered or vend their goods directly to customers at such events.
This is a tough time for arts/events organizations and those who work them (which includes not just artists but all of the ushers, custodians, etc. whose work is tied to the event itself). I'm compiling ways to support those who have been impacted (pass-the-hats for donating to individuals, funds that are accepting donations, ways to purchase people's goods/services, etc.) and resources for those who have been impacted. The industry community is coming together in a heartening way right now, but it would mean a great deal to me if those not in the industry could take a moment to glance through and maybe even to share this information. Even if you can't make any sort of donation yourself, it means something to have this hardship be seen and acknowledged.
Additionally, if you have tickets to events that have been canceled and don't immediately need your funds returned, I encourage you to wait a bit before reaching out to the theater/venue/etc.. Box office workers have been overwhelmed. And particularly if it was a ticket for a non-profit or grassroots organization, if it's possible, I'd encourage people to consider donating the cost of their ticket rather than demanding a refund.
While I'm aware that there are many people in many sectors taking a hit right now, I am putting my focus on where I am and would like to keep that the focus here. Please share any relevant updates, additional resources, etc..
