trying to assign a social media platform of choice to tlt characters:
1. gideon: twitter. she livetweets everything she does, retweets every new meme, gains a following by making terrible jokes that routinely go viral. she gets a lot of dms (some of them horny)
2. harrow: tumblr. she has an aesthetic blog, a mix of gloomy/goth and religious imagery, she forgets to hide her likes and you can see she liked a bunch of self-insert fanfiction marked ‘y/n x ninth cavalier’
3. nona: tiktok. she makes funny videos with every dog she meets, but her real clout comes from the videos where she eats erasers or chews on some wood, people keep wondering if it’s some kind of trick or she really does eat them (she does)
4. ianthe & corona: instagram. they have a joint account and they post almost exclusively selfies where they’re shown wearing the same outfit. they get a lot of sponsorship offers but most of the big ones try to convince corona to ditch ianthe and make a solo account. corona blocks them
5. ortus: facebook. he has 3 friends: his mum, his late dad’s account handled by his mum because she refuses to delete it, and matthias nonius. he posts exclusively long verbose extracts of his poems and gets exactly 3 likes (his mum, his late dad, nonius, but nonius is the only one who actually reads them)
6. jod: twitch. obviously. heartbreaking: guy who claims to hate the internet is always online. livestreams for 8 hours a day every day
7. palamedes: linkedln. very professional account, curated of course by cam
8. camilla: absolutely zero social media presence of her own

TL;DR: 70% of "Covid recovered" individuals have lingering symptoms (AKA Long Covid) and just over a third have restricted breathing after 6-8 months.
Abstract Background Long term respiratory complications of Corona Virus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) are of great concern. Many studies have reported altered respiratory patterns in COVID-19 recovered individuals and most of them were from severe to critically ill patients. The association of viral load at the time of infection with symptoms of long COVID-19 specifically on pulmonary functions after months of recovery is still not known. This study was aimed to assess the impact of SARS-CoV-2 viral load during mild-moderate COVID-19 disease on pulmonary functions in middle-aged population after 6–8 months of acute infection.
Methods This study included 300 (102 healthy controls and 198 COVID-19 recovered) individuals between age 30–60 of either gender. Mild-moderate COVID-19 recovered individuals were recruited between a period of 6–8 months post-acute infection. Spirometry was performed with MIR-Spirolab-III. The association of spirometry pattern was compared with SARS-CoV-2 viral loads during acute infection.
Results We observed up to 70% of the participants presented with either shortness of breath (11.5%), body aches (23.5%), recurrent cough (4.4%), recurrent respiratory infections (9.5%) and/or fatigue (33.3%) at follow up. In our study, 35.5% of COVID-19 recovered individuals had abnormal respiratory patterns (33.5% had restrictive and 2% had obstructive patterns). Viral load ≤ 20 CT value was associated with restrictive respiratory patterns (p = 0.004). No association was found between viral load and disease severity (p = 0.23).
Conclusion In this study, we found one third of mild-moderate COVID-19 recovered individuals have restrictive respiratory patterns after 6–8 months of recovery. These findings had a strong association with SARS-CoV-2 viral loads during acute infection which has been reported for the first time in our study. Studying the relationship between viral load and pulmonary functions can contribute to identifying potential risk factors for long COVID and developing preventive measures to mitigate the long-term impact on lung health.

@ianthesmells in her endless talent and grace, drew Anubis from "Coffee & Scones" universe. So of course I had to write a drabble about it. --
There was a point of exhaustion when the letters on the Harrow’s laptop screen were an artistic display of unrecognizable forms and shapes. As her power point deck shimmered while performing aquatic dances instead of the data summary Harrow needed, she called it a night. Her phone blinked on the hotel’s nightstand, silent and ignored. Dulcinea had insisted on going to the bars with the other grad students, and she undoubtedly was sending Harrow unimportant photos to document the night’s proclivities. Harrow was not interested.
There was a lack of honor in the inebriation that Harrow despised.
Besides, she was the last presenter of the conference, and breakfast started at 7am sharp. There was no time for banal things such as “networking”.
She picked her phone to text Ianthe—her girlfriend was extremely efficient in calming Harrow’s nerves for her presentation—but frowned at the multiple pings from her plethora of diverse messaging apps; that is, all two of them.
She opened Instagram with a trembling finger.
Her first reaction wasn’t shock, since it took a good ten seconds for Harrow to recognize Anubis. Once she did, her cheeks burned with a drizzling mix of anger and amusement.
Much like his owner, Anubis was petite, a once tiny little black runt that grew into a tiny black demon. He had a history of fighting against collars, so Harrow never attempted to indulge herself by forcing him into funny little blankets shaped like denim jackets.
That was why, when she finally recognized her cat in a sheep costume framed by Coronabeth’s cleavage, she squeaked in surprise. To her horror, the little cricket looked adorable, and Corona’s massive volleyball fans had already adopted him as a mascot, with thousands of notifications in the photo. There was also a video of Anubis prancing around in the immaculate sheep uniform, his ears poking from the furry headset like sharp rocks on a field of camellias. Corona took the stage presenting the adorable cat, but Harrow knew better. She knew who was recording it, who had probably ordered the costume, and who had tagged Harrow in the viral videos.
“Hi, love. How’s the conference?” Ianthe picked up on the second ring. Harrow heard Corona’s voice in the background, and a suspicious purr that meant Anubis was around and enjoying the attention overflow.
“That’s animal abuse.”
“What do you mean?”
Harrow heard the tilt in Ianthe’s voice. She knew exactly what Harrow meant, and she loved it.
“I left him with you for forty-eight hours and you already defamed him.”
“Harry,” Ianthe started, and Anubis meowed in the background, followed by Corona’s squeak. “The poor thing was cold, and Corona happened to snap a picture. He’s enjoying fame.”
“Leave him alone.”
“He already has his own TikTok and Instagram account.” At least there was a tinge of apology in Ianthe’s tone.
“Ianthe,” Harrow warned.
“Corona and Camilla will run it. And we can have more privacy at your place while they petsit him.”
“My place is fine!”
“Tell that to Anubis when he’s staring me down while I strap—”
Harrow hung up.
A minute later, Ianthe called. Harrow picked up after the third call.
“He’s okay, I promise,” Ianthe said as a greeting, and the background noise diminished. Harrow imagined Ianthe hiding from her sister’s enthusiasm in her room. “You know I’d never let anything bad happen to him.”
“I just want to be informed before I receive hundreds of follow requests because my cat looked adorable in a sheep costume.”
“Aww, so you also think he’s adorable?”
“You’re deflecting.” Harrow closed her eyes, letting the exhaustion from the day wash over her. “I miss you,” she whispered.
“I miss you too. You’ll do fine tomorrow. I promise.”
There was something visceral in believing a promise from Ianthe Tridentarius’ mouth. A chill ran down her vertebrae.
“Also, what are you wearing?”
She might as well use the energy into something good.

i was going through my notes and found an old write-up from 2020 of modern au headcanons for "the charioteer" characters during covid-19 quarantine (back when "how would fandom X characters handle quarantine?" was a tumblr trend). apparently this was how i was coping with the stress of peak corona times, lol. anyway finally publishing this, three years later!
laurie: his introverted homebody ass is THRIVING in social isolation and wfh. no more awkwardly dodging party invites from people he hates, being dragged to nightclubs, or having to see his stepfather. he gets to stay home all day with ralph and their dog and finish all the books he meant to read, and he is LOVING it. receives a lot of requests to show off his dog during his work zoom meetings.
ralph: is Doing His Duty by staying home on furlough but also going completely stir-crazy. tries to stay sane by feverishly working on dozens of home improvement projects and cleaning the house several times. basically the epitome of that ben wyatt “do you think a depressed person could do THIS???” meme. has gotten into numerous arguments with people at the supermarket who refuse to wear masks or are hoarding enormous supplies of toilet paper (one of these ends up going viral).
andrew: is very sad about being separated from the rest of his religious community now that the churches are closed, but tries to keep a positive outlook on things. shares a lot of resources online about how to help out and staying in touch with one’s faith during “unprecedented times.”
alec: overworked and sleep-deprived nhs junior doctor directly taking care of covid-19 patients. hasn’t physically seen most of his friends or family in months. writes lengthy screeds on social media decrying the dearth of ppe for health care workers and ranting about politics. frequently gets into online fights with strangers who think coronavirus isn’t a big deal. sends ralph unsolicited articles about self-care and mental health tips during a pandemic that ralph pointedly ignores.
sandy: also overworked and sleep-deprived, but much better at concealing it online than alec. has a popular medical instagram where he posts selfies of him and alec with lots of hashtags. obsessively binge-watches cooking videos on youtube in his spare time.
bunny: an essential retail worker who brings this fact up constantly in conversation. secretly flouting social distancing guidelines on his off days to go to parties and hook-up with men on grindr. has the most aesthetically pleasing cloth masks but can’t bother to wear them properly.

Last Quarter Sprint ~ 20 Sep 2024
Last Quarter Sprint ~ 20 Sep 2024, Philip Sedgwick
So, now we’re coming off a super moon eclipse, more than a smattering of Corona Mass Ejections, the Sun opposite Neptune... all this leading to the commencement of the equinox, Libra and all that promotes. More important to those of a goal-oriented mind set, the last calendric quarter of the year commences in but ten days! It's time to make something, everything, anything out of what will soon be last year. As this year concludes, as seen by Earth, Jupiter, Pluto, Saturn, Mars and Neptune mix things up with changes of direction to their orbital motion.
Tumblr media
First though, a rendering of perspective. From the Sun’s point of view the planets we have known for eons or at least decades do not actually ever move backward. Retrogradation is an effect of perspective that occurs with our residence on an object moving about the Sun, observing other bodies moving relative to the Sun.
Retrogradation is an Earth-based and relative point of view. In reality, planets are not changing their minds as a matter of course about which way they are headed. Stepping outside Earthly bias, the solar system moves a hell of a lot more smoothly than what Earth (or any other planet) sees happening. Does this mean there is a greater, more organized, less disruptive order actually taking place? Embrace the relative motions and see what you can make out of it all, while realizing the perception is not true from the solar system’s point of view.

Pisces Lunar Eclipse, Super Moon Rising
Perspective set, in the spirit of making the most of the close out months of 2024, here’s what’s happening up there in terms of planets changing course and inspiring a more fervent sprint through the waning months of this year.
Jupiter retrogrades on 9 October retracing all those nifty ideas he’s conjured since springtime. He’ll remain retrograde into early February next year. While this fact may be accompanied by trepidation, really all that is required is caution. Ensure all those groovy mental seeds properly germinated. Then, foster the hell out of them so they blossom and bear more insight and inspiration and invention that could have been imagined with the onset of the sourced mental blip. The caution reminds all to refine, receive constructive mentorship and do all prep work for ideas to catch on and go viral.
Pluto pivots, smartly striding forward in Capricorn on 12 October. He’s not lingering in Capricorn for long. He’ll be out of there on 19 November and in Aquarius for almost two decades! Whew! Here’s the Plutonian interrogative of the moment: How is it that the eventuality and inevitability of all life matters on ones plate were not perceived prior to this time? No matter. Get on with fixing things up right and spare everyone and yourself any accusations of blame. There’s nothing more than humankind at stake! Starting with you noting your absolute personal humanity.
Saturn resumes direct motion on 15 November. This Pisces swirl works its way forward with excited anticipation of what good he intends to do when in Aries. Saturn rules the goat totem and he looks forward to being in the sign of the ram. There’s a totemic symbiosis to exploit for sure. But back to the present, please. There is a backlog of creativity that seeks proper attention. What comes next is best derived from the inspiration that burst forth from the fulfillment of creativity. Whether it be art, music, literature, film or what have you, the structure of society thrives only when the arts flourish... enjoy your personal flourishing. It’s unabated in the last six weeks of the year and everyone benefits from you in the swim with Saturn’s revolution.
Mars retrogrades on 6 December in Leo. He’s still a newbie in Leo and as such, will dip back into Cancer come early January. In late February he resumes prograde motion in Cancer, then is ready to deal with all things Leo... pride, ego, proclamation and the best and most dazzling display of self ever conjured, commencing on 18 April. Leo rides on the back of Cancer. It’s far easier to put oneself out in the real world in the hugest way possible when one feels and knows the sense of support and kinship that is Cancer. In addition to ones genetic family, there is the creative and spiritual tribe to be found. When enjoying a concert with other music fans, the commonality is the love of the music... not ones creed or politics or means of engaging the world. Enjoy all moments of sameness with your comrade Earthlings! As they say, we’re all in this together by being on this turquoise planet at the same time. Realizing your connection to other humans opens the door for establishing your individuality.
Neptune changes course on 7 December assuming direct motion once again and swirling the deepest tidal forces that Pisces can stir. Savor all that Pisces offers. The emotion, the overwhelm, the joy, the exhilaration, the blazing passion for feeling fully alive. By the time March ends, this gaseous giant traipses into Aries for the first time. And in doing so, Neptune will ask each and every person, “So about those visions and dreams of yours... how in God’s green Earth are you going to get those things going?” From where Neptune stands it appears that if others have no idea what your greatest aspirations are, they simply won’t rally around.
Can massive ground be gained as this year ends? Yes. And mostly, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune work hard to invoke the greatest of galactic insights and grand innovation. There is a heap of galactic input dropping in for everyone and anyone to download. The galactic insight simply needs humans to engage, figure it out, and apply it fully. It would seem the cosmos is somewhat agnostic about who grabs it. As Pluto soon notes, anything grabbed must be applied for the greatest application of all concerned. Period.
Here’s to getting on and grabbing all galactic gyroscopic source codes to set things spinning just about right again!
More soon.
You know, given the end of the year, the transits at hand and more, there could not be a better time to sign up for a consultation, half-consultation, or series of consultations. Why? We have a film on the festival circuit, selected in a number of festivals and playing to enthusiastic audiences. At film festivals, the creative enthusiasm of the filmmakers is explosive, like supernovas lighting up the sky. The energy is contagious. By being in that creative energy, I’ll be consciously absorbing every bit of it that I can. And all of this energy gets shared with anyone with whom I conduct sessions. The links below will get you lined up. Truly, there is no time like now!

📍 english.nctv.nl

I wish businesses and the media would stop saying “going viral”. Not only has the term almost totally lost its meaning, but in a post-corona world it just feels insulting.
